About Hotel Playa Real
The family friendly Playa Real Resort provides a great getaway for those seeking a four-star hotel in stunning Tenerife. With plenty of activities on offer, excellent dining options, and a great atmosphere to boot, this hotel has everything needed for a memorable holiday. Whether you choose to hang out next to the hotel pool, or make the short journey to the beach, you’ll find that you’ll get just what you were looking for — a good time.
When you’re not relaxing, you can enjoy some sports on-site, with table tennis and French bowls on offer, among others. The modern style of the hotel fits in well with the ethos of Costa Adeje, which is one of the newest resort areas in Tenerife. As such, there’s plenty to do once you leave your hotel, with plenty of varied eateries and drinking establishments dotting the shore front. However, as the hotel is specifically set up to be an ‘All Inclusive’ restaurant, you might find that there’s no need to regularly venture away from the resort, not when there is so many snacks and local beverages ready to be sampled.
Room Information and Room Facilities
Guests of the Playa Real Resort can choose from two room types: an apartment (with one or two bedrooms), or a Junior Suite. The accommodation includes twin beds, a sofa bed, satellite TV, air-conditioning, a balcony, while the apartments also come with a kitchenette with a fridge. There’s also a desk and chair in the room.
Which room type you choose will depend on your needs; families may prefer the spaciousness of an apartment as they will allow the family to come together and enjoy an evening together, without going out. The Junior Suites feature a pull-out sofa bed in the living area, which is also ideal for small children but may feel crowded if there are four adults to one room.
Facilities, Entertainment, Activities
Between the sports area and swimming pools, you’ll never run out of activities to keep you busy. There are two pools at Playa Real Resort, one for adults and one for children, which means you get to enjoy a leisurely swim as your kids have fun in their own designated pool; there’s even a lifeguard on duty to ensure nothing goes wrong.
If your kids don’t like swimming then don’t worry, they won’t miss out — there’s a kids club for children aged 4 - 12 that will make sure they have plenty of fun, and even make some friends. However, you won’t always want to be separated from your children. When the time is right, engage in some friendly rivalry by holding a family tournament in one — or all — of the sports available at the resort, which include tennis, table tennis, French bowls, and darts. The hotel also offers a number of services, including currency exchange, car rentals, and excursions.
Food and Drink Options
The All-Inclusive option ensures the guests are kept well fed. Included in this package are staples breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the buffet restaurant, along with snacks, drinks, and tea and coffee. There’s also the option of eating in the a la carte restaurant once a week, which will provide a meal fit for a special occasion. Away from the restaurant, there is also a poolside snack bar, which offers simple meals, drinks, and those all-important ice-creams.
You don’t always have to eat your meals at the hotel, however. If you’re accommodation has a kitchen, you can buy food at the nearby supermarket and make your own meals when you don’t feel like heading out (or even downstairs). Similarly, the plethora of bars and restaurants nearby means you can sample other establishments with ease, too.

Very bad service
"Sadly this is a terrible hotel. For ten days the shower leaked and flooded the room, after asking 7 times we were given a mop and bucket to clean the floor ourselves. The Hotel manager just wasn't interested, the reception staff just shouted at us when we asked for a taxi, and were most unhelpful. The rooms were not very clean, the fridge was broken, cigarette buts on the balcony and we don't smoke, toilet broken and wouldn't stop flushing, mold on the cheese, two different beds, one higher than the other with the legs removed and just sitting on the screws. The drinks are watered down, and often the bars were not open or not staffed.
The most serious problem is the showers, when on cold just suddenly provide scolding hot water. This is a worry with young children.
When issues were raised with the Manager, he just said what do you expect we are about to refurbish.
They claim this is a four star hotel - it certainly isn't and for the cost it really isn't worth the money.

"stayed at this hotel for 5 day found it to be very clean and comfortable, we had clean towels every day. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble.I would say it is more a 3star than a 4 but still good value for the money.the fact that they have a lifeguard made a big difference to us as one of my grandsons got into a little bit of difficulty in the pool and even though we noticed this and my daughter was ready to go in he dived in right away and brought him out.We have already booked for january next year."

defo not a 4 star
"We booked this holiday approx 3 weeks before for oct half term .Was pleased with the deal not a bad price compared to other operators and hotels .Our apartment was large and spacious but not the cleanest and in need of a good refurbishment but like we said it was just a base as we dont spend our time in the room ! The food was basic you wouldnt starve but defo not the best compared to other all inclusive we have neen too.Not enough staff so therefore kept running out of knifes ,forks ,cup ,plates .Really poor service seems like there not enough staff.Areas in the dinning room seemed dirty aswell .No icecream for kids .Playarea unsafe the flooring had big spaces between it and my 2 year old kept tripping up .Pool area ok .entertainment ok . We enjoyed our holiday as only there for a week and only a quick 2nd holiday but had i been there for 2 weeks i would of cried ! Not a 4 star no way on this earth .Went to a four star in turkey in july and that was fantastic .I would say this hotel is a 2 star.if you have booked this hotel and can change your hotel now then do it ."

dont go to this hotel
"I stayed at this hotel in August 11 with my husband and 2 children and had an awful time. The accomodation and all inclusive selection is well below a 4 star ad more like a basic 3 and thats being generous. The apartment did not smell fresh, had a leaky shower fitment and the fridge also leaked. We had to make do with 2 hand towels to dry ourselves on 3 ocassions during our stay as they said the company who did there laundry had not delivered. The reception staff were very rude, abusive and un helpful but the bar staff and reps were friendly. The food was not very nice with very little choice. The restaurant opened until 9.30pm but they stopped replenishing at 8.30pm and this was the same at lunch and breakfast so there was hardly anything left. We had to eat out on several ocassions due to this and because the choice for children was also very limited. I would definitiely not recommend this hotel to anyone. We have stayed in 6 other all inclusive hotels in Tenerife including villa tagora, del duque apartments, villa adege beach and the isla bonita which are all in the same price bracket and far exceed this hotel. Book to go here at your peril!!"

not the best
"we arrived at the playa real on a sunday wer we did have a good welcome from the reception who was dressed smart and spoke poiltly. the things that is dispointing about the hotel is that the food was disgusting same things everyday just cooked different or different texture, food was cold is u didnt get there first. bar staff were friendly butg they could do with some more help on the bar at night one person isnt engough and all the pressure is on them. the small recoptionist were i went to change my euros for the computer when i asked him he syed and sed u can only have coins no notes. where as if i went to the receptionist that welcomed us on that sunday tall guy shirt and the playa real colour tie give give me it straigh away and asked if that was ok and always made sure u were happy with his service. "We have just got home from a fab stay at playa real resort, after reading the reviews i was dubious about it, but i am so glad we went for it! the hotel was spotless, pools were lovely, the staff were so friendly, the entertainment team try to get everyone involved, food was ample- lots of fish, always a choice of potatoes, pasta, and rice so no matter what you like its there. it definately deserves its star rating! Its only a short walk from the beach and there is plenty going on down by the sea front. All together a brilliant holiday :) "

No Pens !
"Have just come back from this hotel and must say that it is no more than 2*....only bar open was the pool bar all week....first night went for food at 8.45 and hardly any food left, we had to dine out !...food is also not great and bit of a mish mash and all the veggies are al dente..ie not cooked and hard...entertainment was a waste of time and the hotel is close to nothing, its quite a walk to the beach and town centre etc...best thing was asking for a pen at reception on a couple of occasions and they had none !! yes they had no pens to use at reception, can you believe that !!....would go to tenerife again but would prefer to be closer to the Marina...."

"We stayed for two weeks at the Playa Real during Easter and had a great time. First hot holiday for a while, booked quite late and with two children 9 and 7 we wanted them to enjoy it. We stayed in the main building where the suites were good. Great view of the sea from balcony and mountains from the rear of the hotel. Location fine slight walk down a hill to Fanabe but actually nice to be set away from other hotels. The kids really enjoyed the pool and made lots of friends. Children's play area and tennis/footabll/basket ball court right next to main pool - very handy. Food was nice and varied with always something that everyone enjoyed. Great salad bar. All in all a very relaxed and enjoyable stay. Would definitely return, very good value."

A well earned rest!!!
"Costa Adeje is a beautiful area. The Hotel is well situated close to shopping centres and not too far a walk from the beach and lots of restaurants. The Hotel itself was very clean and our suite was excellent - although it had a lot of wasted spaces which could have been used as drawer space. Food was edible but not a great choice. Pool bar/food was good and staff friendly. Probably was a 4 star in it's heyday but not now. Lack of entertainment was apparent to all, especially the English guests, as everything was conducted in German and not translated. Pool area was very well planned with a thoughtful area for toddlers with swings, slides and climbing frames. We stayed for one week (the one before half term) and Hotel was about 40% full, this suited us as we went for peace and quiet. The day we left it filled up with families and their kids. A good choice of area but wouldn't return to Hotel as we felt ignored by the entertainment team ~ such a shame as it could have been so much better."

Dont believe some of the reviews
"Just returned from The Ocean Palace Hotel and thought that I must writ a review, stayed 7 nights from 17th March 2009.
Found the hotel to be better than expected,on the good side, the staff were very friendly & helpful,on the front desk and in the restaurants and with the whole staff.
The food was very good and varied with more than enough for "seconds".
We went all inclusive and stayed in an appartment over lookinf the pool,we would have liked to have stayed in the hotel part but as this is a German hotel was probably reserved for them.
The hotel and pools are well maintained and clean,We can truthfully say that overall very good!On the downsides,German hotel mainly geared to them, its not a problem, but entertainment was rubbish! 2out of 10 & our room, that should of been cleaned was full of dust & was dirty.
The location was good with a walk up a hill from the beach of approx 15 minutes.
but as I said overall was good about 7.5 out of 10."
