A unique feature of the Fanabe Costa Sur is its green policy, which includes energy-saving measures such as solar panels, and a waste-management and treatment system that reduces the hotel's environmental impact.

This hotel is old & hasn’t been maintained Cheap & tacky
"Well arrived yesterday & the bad experiences just don’t stop. At the moment ‘ for the past two hours, no hot water. They say maybe back on in another 45minutes. Cockroaches this morning, we were given a spray, obviously a cheap one as they die over hours. Disabled room has very antiquated bathroom intstallations. One support rail coming away from wall. Cracked even a hole in floor tiles. Poor repairs to damp on wall. No Real coffee in restaurant & even in bars of poor quality. No comparison with hotel in Majorca where we spend our Summer holiday with same 4 stars,Eurotel Costa de Los Pinos, this one is just terrible! Staff really nice, but I am trilingual & hear things so I recognise that this isn’t a nice place to work either."

Better than ever
"This was the fourth time at this hotel and I must say it has improved the food and staff were always good but they are even better now. The hotel is spotless they have cleaners working at night making sure the communal areas are always kept clean. The staff are very friendly and could not be more helpful so will be seeing them again next year"

Don't do it!!!
"Stayed in this hotel in oct/nov last year, really really bad weather showed up all this hotels faults. There were buckets catching the water in the lobby. Water coming in through the glass lift and towels in front of glass doors out to pool area soaking up the water pouring in!! (2 lifts out of order) cockroaches were every where in this hotel children's soft play area, disco area and even crawling out of the first salad bar on entry of the dining room (where the plates are stacked) when i reported this to the waiter he shrugged as if to say what do you want me to do. I reported it to the rep but she was as much use as a chocolate chip pan the whole holiday, there was no extra entertainment put on to entertain the kids during this really bad weather. The entertainment team tried really hard tho, but there were too many children bored and stuck in this hotel for them to deal with. The rep was a Thompson rep by the way whom didn't give a care. The evening entertainment was poor and aimed at the elderly which is great if you want to hear tie that yellow ribbon round the old oak tree! There was separate entertainment down stairs in the disco area for the children, but this is clearly an old night club with massive pillars where the viewing is very limited, it also stinks to high heaven as if its been flooded at some stage (very fusty)On the third day i actually cried and told the rep we wanted to go home early but we could not afford the extra costs as this holiday from hell cost nearly £3000 in total. We came home £5000 less in pocket after spending money and just kept thinking what i could have done with the money we had wasted on this joke of a holiday. To make matters worse our little boy has Asperges Syndrome and ADHD, he was literally tearing his hair out the whole holiday, please please please do not go there. "

Do not go to this hotel
"The hotel was a really bad place to go! i came here on an all inclusive family holiday on the 29th of June 2013 for one week, firstly the staff were extremely rude they all looked very miserable and unwelcoming, the restaurant did not cater for 5 people there was either a table for 6 which we did not mind however if we went to sit there the waiters would not be happy and make us move they would then find us a table for 4 and stick a chair on the end which was very uncomfortable, the food consisted of the same things every day lunch and tea were exactly the same the food became sickening and unbearable by the end of the week due to the lack of change, furthermore as we payed to go all inclusive less than half of the things on the menu were actually counted as all inclusive the cocktails were all premade for those who are all inclusive i feel that it was not at all worth the money we paid, the main pool was full of children so was not ideal for our family which consisted of adults, however i would say if you are going with children there was not at all any entertainment for the children by the pool. During my stay at the hotel i was admitted into hospital for 3 days and put on a drip due to a serious bug i caught either by the food which makes me sick to the stomach to think about or the water from the pool which had tests on it and was emptied and cleaned the day i was took to the hospital the entertainment of a night time in the hotel was very poor so we ended up going to a bar outside of the Hotel called the 'Fun bar' and i can assure that it really was an extremely fun bar, it was a shame we had to go out and spend so much money most nights in another bar because of the poor standards of this hotel which were simply not acceptable. The only positive things i can say about this hotel is the roof which was amazing! for ages 16 and over (however there were a few children) the roof had its own pool which was nice and cold however there is a naked part of the roof which in a hotel i simply do not agree with another good thing about the hotel was the rooms, the rooms we were placed into were amazing there was a nice big balcony with sun loungers right outside and our own brolly, there was a nice Jacuzzi bath with twin sinks in the bathroom the bedding was memory foam and there were two flat screen LG televisions with one or two English channels including ITV however the only reason we were placed in this room was because the hotel messed up the bookings and had nowhere else to place us and the 'king size' be was two beds put together "

wonderful relaxing week in Fanabe
"We have just returned from a week at the Fanabe costa sur, a group of 8 of us went over for a relaxing holiday, the good points.... room was lovely, big and clean, even had a tv with ITV and BBC 1 on it!! food was fantastic, so much choice, and occasional theme nights in the restaurant sunbeds cannot be reserved until the security guard opens the pool at 9 am! Alcohol was not watered down! bottled water and tea/coffee can be taken to the rooms. bottles of wine can be ordered at the table at mealtimes (AI) short walk from Fanabe centre and beach. waiter sevice for drinks in the evening in the var, and they allowed more than 1 drink per person! in fact one night we ordered pretty much everything from the all inclusive menu to try!! They do not take your AI band off when you check out!!! The bad points...... No tea/coffee making facilities in the room minibar in room locked (did not bother to open it!) on the saturday lunchtime there was a huge queue to get into the restaurant, they appeared short staffed and food was not readily restocked! they do not come round with tea/coffee at breakfast! Entertainment is not fantasic!! All in all a excellent hotel and well recommended for a relaxing holiday!!"

if this is 4 star god help you in 3 star
"i am no travel critic, but i know good when i see it and this aint a 4star hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. the rooms are cleaned daily but youbetter like the news channels, thats all you get in english.I had a room overlooking the front and the noise was constant. You make friends real quickly by the pool as your only six inches away from the next sunbed. The pool is ok but the sun is on one half in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. The canteen, yes canteen is chaos.it takes a couple of days to work out were to find things and when you do you wonder why you bothered.Go half an hour before it closes and you might get a table to your selves. The AI is a waste of time unless your an alcoholic. We ended up eating out to save our sanity.AH, the roof terrece is ok."

"I would recommend this Hotel, Rooms very clean and Spacious, Food very nice, good variety and choice. The only complaint was being charged every day for the Bed to go on the Sunlounger, Big rip off. Also if you want to upgrade your Board Status to All inclusive do so in England because the Hotel Charges 23Euro's per person per day. The Staff very Pleasant except the Bar Staff."

Feb 2009 Amazing Hotel
"We visited Fanabe Costa Sur Feb 2009. The rooms were great clean with great balcony view. Great location only 5-10 min walk to beach, shops across the road, tuesdays and thursdays cheap market near by. Great Amenities eg. Tennis court, football pitch, golf course and lots more. Restaurant busy in winter so i would think there would be a lot of waiting in line in the summer but apart from that great food."
