"i had checked out this area with holiday watchdog and to be honest i surpose it was what i paid for. We arrived but the guy at reception was like a headless chicken, knew very little english and tried to explain the rules and regulations in a very broken english attempt. he got us to sit down, move, wait and finally left and mumbled something about his friend!! i was not impressed. I think he was finishing his shift and didn't want to wait around. so we had to pay 15.00 for a fan for the week, there was no toaster in the place, the beds were made three times and even at that they were not even made. Covers just thrown on and to be honest i dont think they could have been bothered. Also the tv was coin operated and even if you had credit left and turned off the tv it still ate it!!! This had never happened me before in any other holiday!!! no sun umbrellas at the pool which was bad, no covers at all so we went to the beach for the time we were there, the pool was very deep too, no shallow part To finish, im not a cranky person but it was very rough and ready but i surpose i did get a cheap enough deal so there ya go"

"After reading reviews on these apartments I was a bit worried about their location however, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised the apartments are spacious, clean and the location great. The pool was warm, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful even offering to give us a lift into a recommended Chinese restaurant (New World) which was fab. Thereâs loads to do in the resort. I recommend the submarine and the catalanza boat trip - the kids had a ball. We are all looking forward to returning to this beautiful island with its friendly people and great restaurants. We did not have one bad meal in the place. "

"I have just returned from my holiday and I have been there 13 times and it has always suited me. I go in between weeks from the end of May. My 11 year old, 12 year old and 15 year old loved it. The staff were very helpful and got you anything you needed like. There is a phone in our room and you can phone the staff and get them to go into the town and get you brochures on things to do or go I into town and get you your food, if you pay them of course. Overall, the holidays I have been on this have been the best. "

"This was the first time we were in Lanzarote and had received a cheap last minute deal, with accommodation on arrival. I was a bit worried about that, but was pleasantly surprised with our accommodation, and apartments were very clean, cool and plenty of storage space. Kitchen had basic things, three of each forks, knives etc, not can opener, bottle opener, and no sharp knife. I had to purchase this myself. Other than that the multi method (grill, oven, and microwave) microwave was great. We were in a bottom apartment, I would have preferred a top on as it had a lovely little balcony area and they were real sun trap. I had to pay 15 Euros for a key to the safe, which was not refundable. The Pool area was fantastic and spotlessly clean, sun loungers a little old and faded but were grand. I would not recommend these apartment for those who had limited mobility as the apartments were a good ten minutes walk to the new town, although the walk below was fine, coming back up could be steep... taxis were only 3 Euros though. I was a little disappointed how quiet the complex as, there was no entertainment, bar so you really didn't have the chance to speak to other holiday makers. Cleaning staff were brilliant, friendly, and helpful. I would not return to this complex only due to the lack of entertainment. Lanzarote has the wow factor, it actually brought tears to my eyes at some point, love the country, and the people...apart from one taxi driver!"

"I have just returned from a weekâs holiday in Lanzarote and stayed the Tisalaya Apartments. We booked accommodation on arrival and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Tisalaya apartments. They are very spacious and clean with lovely marble floor throughout. You had to hire a kettle and toaster but we didnât need them so it did not bother us as all we needed was the cooker and the microwave which were supplied in your apartment. You had to pay for the TV it was â¬1 an hr and there was a true movie channel which had good true story films on all day so didnât mind having to pay as at least you could watch something in English. The area was lovely and quite and only 5/10 min walk to the main strip. I would recommend eating in the Spinnaker just down the road from the apartments, the food was lovely a the staff are very friendly. If I return to Lanzarote I would definitely stay in these apartments again. "

"I stayed in the Tisalaya apartments in July 2006 although apartments were basic they had everything we needed! It was a very quiet relaxing place with a nice sized pool which my 5 year old son loved! No entertainment in the complex and No pool bar open though which was a shame! The apartments are situated in an ideal location as its only a 5 minute walk into the main strip there are a few supermarkets situated nearby! Loved Lanzarote very much will be going back!"

"Apartments were nice and clean but on arrival you pay â¬7.50 for kettle & â¬7.50 for a toaster for one week. TV operated by coin slot and only had Spanish channels. Utensils very limited, no can opener. 2 saucepans plus small frying pan. We have been to several self catering apartments but facilities at Tismalays worst so far. No residents bar. However apartment was kept nice and cleaned daily. No linen change for our week stay. Pool nice but could have done with a clean. Holiday might have been more restful had painting of complex walls not been going on around us. Non refundable deposit for safe key cost â¬16.00. "

"We have just returned from a wonderful week in Lanzarote, staying at Tisalaya Apartments. Although the accommodation is basic, it is very clean and it has all you need for a pleasant stay. The staff are very friendly and will help you in any way they can. This is a family run business and if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, these apartments are ideally positioned away from the main town. The beach and town are 5 mins walk and there is a supermarket 200 yards from the complex. My 8 year old son had a great time in the pool, which was also well maintained and clean. We really can't fault the apartments, apart from it's lack of oven (2 ring hob only), but hey, who wants to be standing over a cooker every day when you have so many lovely restaurants to choice from!"

"I have stayed in the Tisalaya twice. They are very clean, quiet & friendly apartments. Up steep hill, but walk-able. Only 5-10 mins walk to main New Town & beach. 30mins walk to Old Town. I would advise when booking to request ground level apartment. As you have sun chairs right outside. Large supermarket few mins away. I had a great holiday in Puerto Del Carmen & would highly recommend for old & young. "
