About Morana Apartments
La Morana Apartments are situated in the popular tourist zone of Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote, on the frontline of Playa Grande Beach. Soft golden sands, warm weather year-round and a lively coastal atmosphere are just some of the many reasons why this apartment complex is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday, whether you are travelling with family or friends. La Morana boasts a large swimming pool which is heated in the winter time, as well as a panoramic solarium, where you can comfortably work on your tan all day. Many of the apartments boast beautiful sea or pool views and common areas are given life by a variety of local plants and trees. La Morana is close enough to Puerto del Carmen to ensure an exciting stay; take your pick from a wealth of bars, discos, and shops, or simply catch a bit of sun on the inviting beach. La Morana has different sized rooms, though all boast a fully equipped kitchen and amenities such as kettles, coffee machines, etc. All have satellite TV, so you can keep up-to-date with all the goings-on back home.
Room Information and Room Facilities
There are various room options for individual travellers and groups. The one-bedroom apartment has a maximum occupancy of three adults (or two adults plus one child). This apartment is one of the few without sea views, though it does have a terrace or balcony. All apartments have a fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, coffee machine, kettle, microwave, etc. Even the smallest apartments have a separate dining room and a bathroom with a shower. A second type of one-bedroom apartment offers a sea view and/or a pool view, and comes with all the above amenities. Those after more ample space should opt for the two-bedroom sea view apartments, with a comfy seating area and sofa. All rooms are frequently cleaned, which is just one reason why La Morana is famed for being one of the best two-star apartments in Lanzarote.
Facilities, Entertainment, Activities
La Morana is a great choice for those who like a bit of independence. The complex has a small pool bar where kids can enjoy an ice-cream or snack, after enjoying a swim in the kiddie pool or catching the rays on the terrace. The reception is open 24 hours a day, and parking (located at the back of the complex) is completely free for guests. There is a small Internet section with computers so you can check out your email or catch up on work, though if relaxation is the order of the day, you can always ask the staff about massage or hairdressing services. All apartments are cleaned four times a week and the maintenance service ensures that any repairs you need are immediately seen to. Lanzarote is a large and beautiful island filled with gorgeous beaches and natural treasures, so if you need a car, motorbike or bicycle, the staff will give you all the contact details of the best local companies.
Food and Drink Options
La Morana has a small pool bar, serving various dishes, sandwiches, snacks and drinks. If you’re after more sophisticated fare, your best bet is to hit the Port, where you will find a bevy of restaurants serving international or national and local cuisine. Lanzarote is famed for its freshly caught fish and seafood dishes, as well as for its delicious vegetables, grown in fields of black volcanic gravel. When eating out, make sure to ask for papas arrugadas (‘wrinkled potatoes’), served with spicy mojo (a sauce made with garlic, olive oil, herbs, vinegar and a wealth of secret spices).

"Stayed here July 2011 with hubby, 15 year old son and his friend. Apartment was quite roomy and clean with the maids coming on a regular basis. Would have liked an oven only because the boys wanted to cook pizza. Excellent location, although there is a steep hill to climb to get to reception, helps get rid of the pounds gained from the beer. The man who runs the pool bar is a diamond. The groundsmen who look after the pool and building are continously keeping the area nice. The pool is great and there is plenty of sunbathing area. Been back a week and already looking to go back next year."

"We recently stayed in the morana for 11 nights and we can honestly say it was the best 2star apartments we have ever stayed in, it honestly should be rated higher. The staff in reception particularly the man and woman with the black curly hair are extremely friendly and accomdating especially as we had a very late flight and a young child. The cleaning staff and bar staff again were extremely friendly. The apartments themselves are very big, they are exactly as seen in the brochure pictures. Pool was lovely.n though a little cold but you got use to it. Childrens pool is great a perfect dept. The only thing i wipl say is that the tiles both in the apartment and around the pool are extremely slippy so you really have to watch your step. The snack bar is perfect for lunch we would highly reccomend it. Also when they say the apartments are up cardiac hill they arent joking. Please be warned if you have any sort of walking difficulties or health mainly lungs or cardiac problems these apartments arent for you. The location is perfect its in the middle of new and old town. Less than 2minutes to the beach and a shop at both the top and bottom of the hill. We would definately reccommend these apartments to anyone planning on going to puerto del carmen and we will be returning to them in the near future."

"Great place to stay as the beach is 2 minutes walk away along with pubs, restaurants, which were all very close. Great pool area and nice and quiet. Clean apartments and fab view from the balcony sea view apartment we had. Only one negative was the receptionist who was at the front desk when we were enquiring about prices - very unprofessional. didnt give any kind of a welcome and seemed rather put out that we had disturbed her and she chewed her chewing gum quite noticeably. i'm not a fussy person but she didnt have an ounce of customer service in her. Overall, a great holiday and a great base."

"Extremely handy apartments for a week on the sandy beach. They are a few yards from the beach in Puerto del Carmen, which was what I was looking for, and close to the village where to have a walk in the evenings and have dinner after a hard day lying on the sun. Rooms are not big, but the view is espectacular over the sea. Its quite and clean, and the staff is helpful. Nice stay."

"We were looking forward for a holiday at the seaside and were unsure about the booking, as it´s getting difficult to find budget accommodation truly close to the beach. But, we found the place! One can just go for an early morning walk to the beach straight from bed. Decoration is not great, but it is quite and relaxing and a short walk to the town centre: perfect for us. Liked â location, proximity to the beach. Disliked â room decoration"

"A very pleasant holiday apts. nearby the sea, sunny, clean and close to nice restaurants in Puerto del Carmen. The staff was friendly and helpful when we needed their help, and we were lucky with the rest of clients, as did not find many children around making noise. It is quiet in the evenings and the price is good for the value you get. We found they were a good place where to come back for a break near the beach. Lanzarote is a wonderful island one should not miss. "

"We found the morana apartments to be very central to restaurants, shops, pubs, beach etc. There is a bit of a steep hill going to the apartments. Staff were very friendly & their English was good. Stayed in a 1 bed apt facing the pool which was very clean, staff came a few times during the week to clean it, kitchen facilities had everything you needed. The pool was cleaned out every day. Unlike a previous report we did not have to hire the remote control for the TV. We did not have any cockroaches in the apt during our 1 week stay there. There isn't 24 hr reception at the apt block but there is a man that goes round checking the block at night. Our daughter was 7 months old when we stayed there & even though there are stairs to get to the apartments we didn't find this to be to much of a problem. This was my second visit to Puerto del Carmen my first visit I stayed in the Kon Tiki apartments just across the road from the Morana apartments & we are coming back again next year for the Christmas. I enjoy Puerto del Carmen as there are plenty of restaurants to eat in the New town & Old town which are very reasonable plus good entertainment in the bars (even though we were home quite early with having the baby). I liked the morana apartments & I would stay there again. "

"From a young personâs point of view, I donât like to stay in apartments, with a lot of young people as you never seem to get any sleep, so the Morana apartments were perfect with a mixture of ages not all young. They have great nice big spacious rooms. The view was great. A very steep hill up to it which I enjoyed as I looked at it as a bit of exercise also the steps, however the steps wouldn't be very wheel chair friendly. Apartments are located practically in the centre of all the action unless you wish to travel to the Texas ranch park etc, which is a great theme park for young and old. If you were to hire a car I would advise two days max as we hired one for three days which was a bit of a waste of money. Pool side is a bit of a heat trap but there is a roof terrace with a breeze and the beach is literally across the road. Over all very pleased with the apartment and they were cleaned every second day. The reason I give it 9/10 is because I would have preferred air-conditioned apartments. "

"We have visited Lanzarote virtually every year for the past 16 years. We have stayed in many hotels and apartments. For the past few years we prefer to stay in apartments. In May we stayed for the first time in La Morana apts. Our stay coincided with the Ironman international challenge. Apart from the spectacle of watching the most gruelling test of man and woman there was the huge build up and the follow on with the inevitable time to clear the main prom area of all the equipment. It is an annual test of ocean swim ( about 4 k. ) bike race around the Island, culminating with a marathon run ( about 24 k.). It starts about 7am. and some hadnt finished at midnight. The last in I pitied most of all. So much for Ironman. La morana apts are situated up a steep hill, mercifully not far up, but still quite a drag after a day on the beach or a night out. We found the apts clean and comfortable. Most have a sea or pool view. We have booked these apts again for Christmas and New year and we are really looking forward to our repeat stay. I like to swim every day in the atlantic. Even at this time of year it is usually possible to sunbathe on the beach or by the pool. I hope someone will find this review helpful, Paddy"

Loved these apartments
"To whom it may concern, I have just returned from a fantastic week in Lanzarote. I had the pleasure of staying in the Morana Apartments, number 401, which I found to be very clean, spacious and a great location. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The snack bar served very nice food at reasonable prices. The couple who ran it were lovely. I will certainly be returning to these apartments the next time I visit Lanzarote. Many Thanks, Jennifer McPhilemy Co. Clare Ireland"

"Just returned from a two-week stay at this excellent complex. Stayed in Apt 510 on top floor. Quite a few steps to climb to the apt but well worth the effort. Excellent, spacious, very clean & bright. Rooms all painted white with white tiles throughout bathroom, which had a spacious shower, sink & toilet. Balcony was spacious & overlooked pool & beach. Cleaning services were excellent. All staff extremely friendly & helpful. Pool was quite small. Roof terrace excellent for sun bathing with a fabulous view of beach. The only down side was the very steep hill to the main promenade & beach which was only 50mts or so away. Had an excellent holiday & without hesitation would definitely return to this complex."
