Always a treat to stay here
"Stayed in Las Costas from the 26/12/12 ti 7/1/13 and as usual we had no complaints. My wife, self and son (11) had a very enjoyable time. The staff are excellent and always willing to go the extra mile to help you whatever the problem. Accommodation is top notch. We stayed Half-board and the food was very good. Only problem is it gets a little repetitive so we ate out on a couple of occasions. Didn't see much of the in-house entertainment as we went out most night but what we did see was OK. My son didn't use the kid club facilities but we had used it in the past and they were pretty good. Grounds and gardens are spotless and well kept. The Hotel is on the end of the Puerto Del Carmen strip and a few minutes walk gets you to all the shops and restaurants. "

More 3* than 4*
"The main public areas were fine and the pool area especially good. You could also get a sun longer by the pool at any time of day and not have to get up at 6am to do it. We booked a superior double room but it was more 3* standard than 4*. It was very clean and tidy but the furnishings were quite basic and it didnt have an iron or tea/coffee facilities. To get an iron you had to ring reception who brought it to your room but it had to be returned immediately. We booked half board but only had breakfast which was fine - usual buffet . There were so many restaurants in the resort it was a shame to stay in the hotel. Talking to others who live in the resort it seems this is the usual standard for hotels locally but we have stayed in lots of 4* in other places which were much better standard. I would stay here again as the staff were good and helpful and it is in a good location with a fab pool."

"Stayed here with partner late Sept, early Oct. A good clean, modern hotel. If your looking for something that isn't 'full on', then this could be the place. It's set a short walk away from the bars and shops, although there are a few quieter ones just across the road. Entertainment is very low key. Hardly any children and right on the beach. Go if your looking for rest and relaxation in nice surrounding. Food was fine, but not great."

"i stayed at las costas for a week (9th sept) while it is a beautiful hotel, clean spacious and modern with air conditioning i cant say that i felt very comfortable there. it does seem to cater mainly for german and spanish guests. the food was just ok in my opinion. they say that they have a gym but none of the equipment is in working order and for a hotel with 4 stars i dont think it would cost them too much to have the equipment serviced. it also says in the thomas cook brochure that children are not allowed at this hotel and i wonder does this just apply to english children because there were children there and they even have a kids club ! overall i would probably not stay here again but only because i just couldnt relax there. the cleaning staff were amazing and worked there socks off every day."

Best hotel & Holiday Location
"Just back from having spent 2 weeks in Las Costas Hotel. We have never booked an independent holiday before, we picked it having read the previous reviews and we were not dissapointed, from the moment we arrived from the receptionests, waiters, waitresses, maids,& animators were all so helpful & friendly , there was only one person in the resaurant who seemed to have a problem with smiling and being pleasant. The location of the hotel was ideal easy access to the beach & in the evening you had a nice leisurely walk into Puerto del Carmen or Matagorda, i would recommend this hotel and resort without hesitation and will definately return in the future.Gino Dublin Ireland"

Best Family best kept secret hotel
"Returned last Saturday the 24th July we had seen this hotel on our travels from last year were we had stayed at the San Antonio, which is a great hotel, but has gone far too expensive for us as a family, the reception area is large and airy and has the best and friendly reception staff i have ever come across.Check in was fast and friendly although our room was not quiet ready we had arrived at roughly 12.15 and were given 4 vouchers for drinks while we waited which turned out to be 10 minutes, a porter took of luggage to what i would describe as individual villas, ours had a garden view, the room was huge and modern and most of all spotless.Slide robe wardrobes tv fridge, microwave and air conditioning that really worked!! The pool area is just the right size with children section adults pool jacuzzi ,not to mention gym, sauna childrens mini club, pool, table tennis room. We stayed half board and there would have to be something wrong if you were not satisfied with the standard on view different menu every day and served with a smile!!! Majority of clients were German/Dutch and i have to say as Irish we all had a great friendly banter and craic . Staff in this hotel could not do enough just fantastic!!! would i recommend this hotel ? you bet your life I would we are already making enquirers about next year!!! ALL TWENTY TWO OF US !!! PHILIP MAY DUBLIN IRELAND Viva La SPANIA.!!!!"

Fantastic - no hesitation in recommending!!
"I had been in Lanzarote in January 2010 and noticed this hotel. I decided to take my elderly mother here for a holiday in June 2010. The hotel was fantastic from the first moment we arrived. Yes, it does mainly cater to Germans, but if you are looking a quiet relaxing holiday, I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The food was excellent. My mum is coming up to 80, so she is very basic in what she eats and each night there was no problem in finding her something she liked. Chicken/steak was cooked in front of you and she likes everything well done (cremated), this wasn't a problem at all (I like my steak rare - and this was also catered for). The rooms are large with microwave, fridge and tv. I would recommend they supply a kettle instead of a microwave, but the hotel had no problem with you bringing in your own food/water, etc and using the fridge and microwave. The tv only had 4 channels in english CNN, Sky News and Movies for Men 1 & 2. On my suggestion form when I left the only thing I could suggest that would make this hotel better would be a few more women friendly channels in english. Pool was lovely, hotel was directly onto beach, jacuzzi just beside pool, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas - overall a perfect holiday. When we were leaving I asked for a room extension as our flight wasn't until 8.30pm. They couldn't extend our room (as it was with sea view and they were all reserved) but they moved us to another room until our coach came at no extra charge. Reception staff, bar staff and catering staff were all fantastic. We ate lunch at the hotel a couple of the days, had wine every night and our bill at the end came to 61 euro, pizzas were cheaper in the hotel than eating out - so very reasonable for a 4 star hotel without the 4 star prices. Entertainment was not bad, the magician was fantastic (and I don't like magicians), dancers just okay, singers not bad - but definitely suited my mum!!"

"My boyfriend and I have just got back from Lanzarote! We both thought the hotel was lovely. could not fault it!!!! The reception area is spacious and staff are very friendly. The room was nice, everything you would need and very, very clean! Stayed there on my birthday and the hotel gave us a free bottle of sparkling wine, which i was touched by. There werent many English staying at the hotel and were quite a few Germans but that did'nt bother us! The food in the restaurant was good, had a variety of food on each night. service is quick. Good considering it is a buffet catering different nationalities! The positioning of the hotel to the main strip was perfect, not too far a walk and there are many great places to eat and have a drink! Far enough away from shops and bars that is was quite and peaceful!!! Both me and my boyfriend would stay at Las Costas again and would recommend this hotel to anyone considering to stay in Lanzarote."

"Modern low rise hotel on outskirts of Puerto del Carmen with direct access to Playa de los Pocillos beach. However during our stay there was some excavation for a drainage system taking place on the beach but it didn't really impact on our overall holiday experience. Most of the rooms are are in single storey clusters and are of generous proportions with furnished patios. Many guests chose to use this for relaxing rather than use the pool area. As a result there wasn't a shortage of sun loungers around the pool . The dining room and bar/lounge was at the same level but the spacious reception(with helpful staff) was on the upper floor and there was a further set of stairs( lift available) leading to the hotel foyer and entrance. The informal restaurant(sat wherever you wanted-indoor or outside) was well organised and staff were extremely pleasant and efficient. We thought the range and quality of the food was excellent. The evening entertainment was only moderate and didn't appear well supported. This hotel was popular with a whole range of European nationalities and the general atmosphere was very much laid back Lanzarote style. We had booked a latedeal through Thomas Cook and therefore didn't have airport transfers included. We simply took a â¬12 taxi ride. From collecting our luggage off the carousel to checking in at hotel reception took less than quarter of an hour. We were more than pleased with our choice of hotel. It offered a peaceful yet convenient location."

"From the moment we arrived we were treated in a friendly an professional manner by Nicole and her staff. The room was large very clean and had air conditioning we loved it. This hotel is located right on the beach, with 2 gorgeous swimming pools one for children and a jacuzzi. There is a kids club run by Reika the play leader who engaged the children of all ages in creative and aventurous play they looked forward to kids club and waited for her to arrive everyday at 10.30 and then at 15.00. There are plenty of supermarkets, shops and restaurants right accross the road from the hotel. We stayed during the volcanic ash crisis, when our flight got cancelled the hotel staff were sympathetic, helpful and understanding. All the staff at the hotel were superb as the crisis deepened they were under a lot of pressure but maintained their professional and helpful attitude to all the customers. The food was very good and plentiful and the restaurant staff were hardworking, cheerful despite being very busy. We will go back to Lanzarote in the future and will stay at Las Costas hotel again. Thanks to Nicole/Christine on reception, Reika for being great with our child and all the rest of the staff for the cleanliness and good service we received during our stay. Finally we met some great people who were also staying at the hotel and we all kept our spirits up by swapping information and helping each other."

Welcoming, Comfortable, Quiet and Clean
"We spent the half term week at the Las Costas. The hotel reception were very welcoming upon arrival. As I understand that hotel is not featured in any English Holiday Companies so the percentage of English holidaymakers is small, so if you are looking to meet lots of other English families and couples you will be disappointed. The swimming pool is great and the childrens pool is a good size. Because of the design of the building the swimming pool is a little more protected from the wind. There was a bit of constricton work going on the adjacent beach so it did not look exactly like on the brochure, but this is nothing to do with the hotel. The rooms are of a good standard, the tv channels are limited so do not expect more than CNN or Sky News. The one thing we saw more than anything at the hotel was the amount of cleaners. We had full maid service everyday and they was lots of ladies always working hard around the complex. My little girl was too young for the MiniClub but Rebecca would come out and give the children toys to play with in the pool. It seemed quite small but the clientelle would be mostly Germans. We did not see the evening entertainment so can make no comment on that. The poolside bar was basic but ok. We only stayed bed and breakfast which I think was a wise decsision. The cooked breakfast was not very appealing but we ate fruit, toast and bread rolls each morning. We found the restaurant staff all to be very friendly. We went out to each evening which was not the cheapest way to do it but at least we had a bit more choice. Overall a nice relaxing stay in a good hotel."
