About Lanzarote Palm

Puerto del Carmen is a well-known part of Lanzarote for many people who have already booked a holiday there. If you want to try out one of the best parts of the island, complete with a stay in a four-star resort, the Plaza Palmeras is just the place you need.
Cost is very often a key factor in choosing a location for a foreign holiday, and the Plaza Palmeras will definitely appeal to you in this sense. You can enjoy some great facilities — ideal for couples and friends looking to kick back and relax — and you have the whole of Puerto del Carmen ready to explore too.
With the airport under five miles from the Plaza Palmeras you can be certain of settling into your accommodation in record time. The great location, offering superb on-site facilities along with all the delights of Puerto del Carmen and beyond, means you will enjoy the very best of what this area of Lanzarote has to offer. And of course, with other Lanzarote attractions to enjoy as well, not least Timanfaya National Park and the famous Aqua Park (both accessible when you hire a car) you’ve got the best of it all.

Room Information and Room Facilities

The rooms are simple yet appealing, just what you need for a nice pleasant stay without being too complicated. The furnishings provide everything you need and you can also enjoy modern bathroom facilities in your apartment, complete with a luxurious shower.
All apartments are fully air conditioned and you can also enjoy settling down on your own private terrace (or of course your balcony if you are on a higher floor). Each apartment comes complete with its own kitchenette, complete with a fridge and microwave and of course a toaster, so a quick and easy breakfast on your balcony is easy to arrange. As you will discover, these apartments are lovely to retire to at the end of the day, and provide the perfect place to wake up to another delightful morning.

Facilities, Entertainment, Activities

The signature outdoor feature is of course the pool, its curved design luring in many people to enjoy a few hours outdoors. You can either swim lazily or use it to cool off, or simply lay claim to one of the sun loungers around its perimeter. Needless to say the sun terrace is exceptionally popular and for good reason.
There is also a garden area complete with lush planting to soften the surroundings and provide cosy little corners to settle back, perhaps with a good book and a drink. Inside there is also a communal lounge complete with television area, so you can always settle in out of the sun if you so desire.

Food and Drink Options

You will be well-placed to have the best of all worlds when you stay at the Plaza Palmeras. There is a restaurant provided for all guests, offering a wonderful array of dishes to enjoy. The terrace provides outdoor seating so you have the option to enjoy an al fresco meal if you wish. There is also a chance to grab something from the coffee menu indoors, or perhaps a light salad if you so desire. Every possible taste is catered for here.
Of course with the small kitchenette you might also have the need to buy some basic supplies. You can do just that by going into Puerto del Carmen to find what you need. Alternatively you might want to eat out and with numerous restaurants and other similar outlets nearby, you have the culinary world at your feet. Choose from local delights to international dishes — whatever you want, you’re bound to find it.

"I found the Plaza Palmeras to be fantastic. We stayed for 11 nights.

The pool and pool areas were cleaned daily. The staff were more than friendly. Good entertainment of an evening.

Apartment, though basic, was very clean. My only gripe was the fact that you had to pay extra for the toaster, tv, etc. Apart from that I could not complain at all.

The reception staff were always helpful and polite.

AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL HOLIDAY.

The resort was excellent."

"My husband & I arrived back to the UK on 5th January 2006. Thankgoodness we hadn't booked in this hotel for longer.
The food they offered on the buffet table was just inedible, chips swimming in oil and stew that resembled animal vomit. We both are not fussy eaters. Accomodation was not that brilliant either, clean, but very basic. Kettle, toaster, television had to be hired. There was not a set area for diners, the restuarant/pool bar was more like a road side cafe.
Lanzarote itself was very nice but I would not recommend this apartment complex to anybody. The landlords are just a big con, all round. A receptionist at teh Plaza Palmeras told us that she wouldnt want to stay there out of choice, how bad is that.
We paid for half board with Thomas Cook but ended up having to buy our meals out."

"We arrived Thursday 21st Sept for a weeks girlie holiday, the apartment was very clean and basic, maids in everyday to change towels and clean apartment, we were very impressed with the pool, this was cleaned everyday. Staff were fantastic and very helpful, we did not stay for the entertainment in the evenings, rather go to the bars. The weather was fantastic, we stayed by the pool most days because of the good breeze, would recommend these apartments to families, a very family orientated place. Would definitely go back to these apartments and highly recommend it."

A tired apartment complex

"I booked a cheap holiday at the Plaza Palmeras based on the reviews from this and other sites. I had a good break but the apartments did not live up to their billing and Puerto del Carmen itself is dull and dirty, it was like Blackpool in the sun. The apartment complex looks good at first glance, but it is showing it's age. I assume that it is open all year round and never has any time for deep cleaning or anything more that emergency maintenance. The apartment decor is dirty, the furniture is at best adequate. The crockery was mostly chipped and cracked and obviously not swapped out at changeover, ours was dirty and greasy. The shower fitment did not work and could not be used as anything other than a hand shower. The reception staff promisied it would be looked at (twice) but was not resolved. The maid service was sparodic twice in seven days. The bar/restaurant staff were very friendly and enthusiastic if not a little amatuerish. The entertainment was poor. The hill to and from the resort got very tedious more than exhausting and due to building works being carried on down the street was very dangerous having to step into the narrow road where the local drivers (particularly coaches) seemed to use it as a race track. This review does paint quite a negative picture but that is more in response to the overblown reviews of previous correspondents, I had a good week but was very ready to leave. The resort and apartments can only be described as adequate, thankfully the weather made up for everything."

"If you want to know in detail weather your going to the right place then read this review. There was eight of us all together ranging from the age of 17-20 all friends apart from me and my boyfriend. I was told that it wasn't a lively place from other reviews which worried me a little because thats what my friends especially were going for. When we arrived at the apartments we saw lots of couples and people of the same age, there were lots of families also, a definate mixture of people which told me that there was something for everyone. The STRIP is literally 5mins down the slope, (its not steep) There are plenty of places to go drinking, try and go to the places who offer you free drinks - or buy one get one free, (try paradise - just at the bottom of the slope on your right - or Waikiki and go downstairs.) Theres also a pole dancing club called disco ibiza - but you do it yourself, good fun for me and the boyfriend! Best place to eat in my opinion was PINNOCIOS, absolutely lovely little place along the strip. try the salmon carbobara!
Theres plenty to do for the couples, me and my fella went scuba diving on the last day, bit pricy but well worth it! Fags are also very cheap, although you are only allowed to bring 200 per person back over!
I thought that the plaza palmeras was a beautiful place with lovely people, pool bar was too pricey for us however from 4-5 and 9-10 its happy hour on beer, bogof! everywhere was clean, pool was lovely, you have to rent things like microwave, toaster e.t.c, however you do get pots, pans wooden spoon and a kettle, which is very good. LADIES: shops in the old town are to die for, so cheap! get a taxi if you dont like walking, they're cheap too! MEN: lots of Irish bars with imported guinuss my boyfriend recommends it! Try and pay a visit to the crafty cow whilst your in the old town, barmaid claire is lovely, she used to date robbie williams! We were there for two weeks and were all in tears the day we left, my advice would be to work out there. Some of us were offered jobs but had important commitments back home, but we all really wanted to!
AMAZING PLACE, WILL DEFINATELY GO BACK ONE DAY! I promise , you'll love it..."

"Stayed at the Plaza Palmeras 01/03/05 - 10/03/05. The weather was very good, only 1 dull day and a little rain on two nights. The hotel is good basic accomodation, the rooms are clean but worn and in need of refurbishment. Nice pool area but the water was icy cold!! Two electic rings, a kettle and a fridge make up the catering facilties, you can hire toasters, microwaves etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We found the food at the BBQ very poor and the drinks at the bar to be overpriced and undrinkable local brands - no named brands available. Try the Thomson hotel (German hotel) just down from the Plaza Plmeras for good quaility food and drinks at better prices. The supermarkets on the main strip offer slightly better prices than those closer to the hotel but there is not much difference. The Spinnaker Bar above the Netto supermarket offers good food, entertainment and pleasant suroundings.
A word of warning - DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY THE ELECTRICAL SHOPS!, once inside and you have paid for your goods you will be told that they don't work in the UK without certain connections/chargers/tapes etc which cost more than the Cameras/ Camcorders, the shop owners then become agressive and threating if you say you want your money back. This happened to us in two different shops."
