Transfer to destination from the airport...
"Transfer to destination from the airport took about 5 mins which was brilliant! First impressions on arrival were very good. Checked in with no hassle at all, reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds looked very nicely maintained and tidy.
Travelled with a couple of friends and we had been allocated bungalows next door to each other and provided with a key for the internal adjoining doors which was very convenient. Apartments were very clean and adequately furnished and equipped. The patio was complete with furniture and bbq and a clothes horse.
Had read before we left home that there was limited hot water supply to the bungalows, so we were well prepared for this. and thankfully we didn't end up with a cold shock! We got round this issue by having baths instead of showers and sharing the water (depends how smelly your other half is really)! However the water soon warms up again within about 30 mins.
The complex is separated by an access road and we were situated on the opposite side of the complex to the reception and although it wasn't busy by any means I think our side seemed to be a little quieter, this may have been just down to the fact that there was no passing pedestrian traffic for the onsite restaurant or bar (which incidentally we didn't try because of the sheer choice in the main resort).
There are 2 pools one for each side of the complex and it wasn't busy around either pool. Plenty of free sunbeds and good toilet and shower facilities etc around the pool. As I said it wasn't busy but there was still the token towels left on sunbeds routine...lol.
The resort was really great...sooo many bars and restaurants to choose from with all the free shots etc you can drink! Definitely try Golden Corner cocktail bar, the cocktails are huge and always decorated beautifully with fruit and sparklers etc. Staff are really friendly too!
The walk into Puerto Del Carmen took about 15-20 minutes which actually suited us because we found it was nice to work up an appetite or walk off the extra cocktail in the evening. Buses run along the front every 20 mins and cost 90cents no matter how far you go down the strip. The taxis are very cheap indeed so if you didn't fancy the walk along the strip you can get a taxi for less that 4 euros!
We hired a car between us for the day which I would recommend rather than going on the organised excursions. Works out a lot cheaper and you can please yourself when you come and go, as the excursions have very rigid timescales, plus lots of travelling on the back of a bumpy hot coach eurgh! Teguise market on a Sunday is a must, take plenty of money as there are so many lovely goodies. Also take a sweater as the wind there can be a bit keen.
To summarise we had a lovely week and would definitely go there again."

Definately One To Miss
"My partner and I have just returned from a week in these bungalows. We found them to be cold and damp, which made our clothes and even our books damp when we left them in the bungalow. A heater was supplied but we were told not to use it for too long as they tended to overheat and melt the sockets - which it did after it had been on an hour, as we were cold after the cold showers we were forced to take due to the fact that the hot water only lasted approx 3-5 minutes. There were dead insects in the light fittings and also squashed onto the walls and not cleaned off. Only recieved clean towels once and no clean sheets during the week. The reception and bar staff were unhelpful and surly to say the least and I couldn;t believe it when we had to argue to get back our deposits after hiring a remote control for the TV and a safety deposit box. We hired a car for the whole week thank goodness, as it meant that we could get away from that place everyday. The one plus point it has is that they treat thier cats very well, providing them with a feeding station and so the cats don't feel the need to pester the guests for food which is strange as we never once, as guests felt the need to pester the staff for thier food either,NO THANKS!!!"

"Well what can i say, read the reviews before going and most were good and i can highly recommend these bungalows to anyone. The area is fab, really quiet for a good nights sleep with the kid, lively enough for the younger ones (hark at me in my 30's) 10 minutes walk and you are into Porte del Carmen where all the pubs restaurants, night life is. Some ppl remarked in previous reviews about Lanis chain of food establishments - Go ppl, you will not be dissapointed. The food at the Hyde Park was ok, special burger was really good, very light, full english was not the bees Knees, but you cant have everything. Pool was clean but cold, i was there Jan 06, kids didnt mind the cold, once you were in it was fine. Did the Thomson submarine tour at 126E for 2 adults and one kid, promised to go to 148feet, i couldnt wait, only went to 60feet so dont believe what they say. It was an experience though. The weather in the Canaries has been bad for the past year, with lots of rain, which we got 4 out of 7 days, but you make the most of it. Plenty of clean towels in the room, bath clean, kitchen well supplied, ppl friendly, I have to put this in - Do Not Go to the Roca Verde in Playa de Inglis, Gran Canaria and tell your friends not to go there either........ Hyde Park Lane and Thomson well done..... Watch out though for Hyde Park Apartments are not the same as Hyde Park Lane Bungalows. Enjoy"

The worst accommodation I have every stayed at
"My family & I have just returned from a stay at the Hyde Park Lane villas. It was the most shabby, dreary place we have ever stayed at. The villa was damp - the sheets were damp. our clothing in the wardrobes were also damp. It was the most uncomfortable bed I have every slept in & my sheets were not changed once during our ten day holiday. There was only enough hot water for us to have a shower one at a time. Our self catering facilities included a microwave (no oven) a two ring hob & a kettle, together with an assortment of very sorry looking mis-matched crockery. We went out and bought a 100w lightbulb as the living area was so dismal. The pool area was depressing and dirty, the restaurant was similarly unappealing. Our salvation was the fact that we had a hire car which enabled us to spend every day as far away from there as possible. If you are prepared to suffer the most basic living standards, go ahead. Otherwise look elsewhere."

PLEASE Read this before you book!
"We first stayed at Hyde Park Lane in 2003, and it was very good. We returned in February 2005 and it had changed dramatically, so much so, that we complained to Thompson on our return and had a partial refund.
The bungalows were damp, (including the beds and bedding), they were dirty, i.e. dead bugs stuck to the top of walls in all rooms and alot of dead bugs in the light shades. The hot water situation was intolerable, each bungalow only has a tiny tank which lasts for about 2 minutes of you getting into the shower, it is not possible to wash your hair or rinse the soap off your body by the time it runs cold!. The swimming pool was dirty. Myself and several other guests had sickness and diorrhea for 3 days, we believe the cause to have been brushing our teeth in the tap water.
These bungalows are, in my opinion, are 2 star accomodation, very basic indeed, so if you don't mind roughing it, this is the place for you, if you like comfort, don't bother staying here!."

PEACE AND QUIET
"We have just returned from the Hyde Park Bungalows and can reccomend them to anyone who is looking for a quiet, self catering holiday. The bungalows were immaculate and staff very helpfull and friendly .Having said it was quiet, a short taxi ride away was Puerto Del Carmen with its many bars and restaurants (taxi approx 3.5 euros ).We are re-booking for next year."

Loved these apartments
"Found these apartments well maintained and well eqiped. Really chilled out atmosphere, no animation team to pester you or loud music around the pool area. Staff in the small bar were really nice. We didn't use the restraunt but did use the snack bar through the day which was quite reasnoble.
Our apartment was right beside the pool which was great. Pool area nice and we always managed to get a sunbed. Barbeque eqipment also came with the bungalow which was good as we were ther on a budget.
Love Lanzarote and Los Pocillios, would definatly reccoment these apartments."

"Went to Lanzarote with my two children and neighbour and her daughter. Thought we were staying at Acuario Sol on arrival nearly cried it was like a builders yard. Was very relived to be told that we were not staying there are accommodation had been changed to the Hyde Park Lane Bungalows.
They were alot better than what we had booked very clean, staff very helpful, the complex was very nice. It was a good 20 min walk up to the main shops but very nice, would go again.

"Went to Hyde Park Lane Bungalows expecting a great deal and was quite pleased to find that all the hype, wasnât.
The accommodation was excellent, the pool was a good size for the kids and the beach was only a 10 minute stroll away as was the main resort of Puerto Del Carmen.
At night there was a great deal of choice where to eat, I had read some good and some bad reviews about the Lanis chain of restaurants. We took a chance on the steak restaurant and was very surprised by the choice and amount of food served it was a bit pricey but it didnât seem too bad, the next day we tried the Indian Lanis and it felt like we had become invisible and had suddenly started speaking Martian. We finally eat that night and went back 2 days later to find the same thing happen to us then they tried to overcharge us by 30 euros and laugh about it. To summarise Lanis the steak house, decent food and good service. To summarise Lanis the Indian , good food very dear and very poor service.
As an antidote to the above I will say 2 words DON CAMILLO.
Excellent food, very good layout, reasonable price, 1 of the most hard working chefs we have ever seen and a Maitre De who keeps it all going smoothly (once we had found this restaurant we eat there 5 times) you must try the garlic prawns they are the best.
We had a Chinese meal from opposite the casino and we all suffered from the MSG overdose.
We also tried the cowboy night at rancho Texas, this was brilliant.
The water park is also worth a try.
Would recommend it to anyone."

"Overall these bungalows are excellent and great value for money. Although there is virtually NO entertainment, you are only a short taxi ride (or walk) into PDC where u have a wide range of bars and clubs to suit the needs of everyone.
Bungalows are very clean and have everything that u need on a self-catering holiday. (They even have a place for a BBQ) The only problem we seemed to have was that our towels were not changed regularly. However, this was not a major problem.
I would recommend these bungalows to everyone regardless of age. I went with my friend and our partners all aged 20-22 and we had an amazing time. The pool is very quiet and you are always able to get a lounger. The pool bar makes good snacks, however, I would not recommend the restaurant in the complex, as they tend to cater mostly for German tastes. We ate here on the last day of our holiday, needless to say I am glad it was on the last day and not the first otherwise I would not have seen very much sun.
If you are booked to go to these bungalows, have an excellent time. If you read any bad reviews ignore them. The place was beautiful in June."

good for a chill out
"Just got back from a week at the Hyde Park Lane bungalows in Playa de los Pocillos, Lanzarote and feel pretty chilled.
The room was very spacious, with seperate bedroom, bathroom and lounge/diner including a breakfast bar. The twin beds were a little hard but adequate. The bathroom was spacious and had a good shower. The lounge had a settee and 2 chairs and a coffee table, tv, and breakfast bar with stools so comfortable to eat in. the kitchen was small but had the most conveniences I've ever come across when on a self-catering holiday. The usual 2 rings but a ceramic halogen hob instead of the usual rubbish hot plates, microwave with grill, toaster and kettle, so none of this heating water in a saucepan for tea business, which was great.
The terrace had a table and chairs and was very close to the pool which was convenient.
The pool was fr fr fr freezing, but if you dived in you were definitely cooled down quick, it was deep 1.9 M for at least half it's length and there was a separated shallow childrens pool so if you want to actually do some swimming you were well catered for. The maintenance was good and the pool was always very clean, not too over chlorinated and the chemical levels were checked properly.
The pool bar had the usual fried fayre unfortunately but the staff were friendly and the measures were generous in the evening if you bothered to show some courtesy to the staff and at least attempt some spanish you may have the beginnings of a pretty spectacular hangover.
The buffet restaurant had a fairly good menu but we decided to walk 15 mins to the outskirts of Playa del Carmen were there was so much choice it was hard to decide where to eat, and all tastes are catered for, italian, mexican, english, chinese(lots),irish, grill, indian, etc. etc. We found the Lani's restaurants were friendly and had more than one visit from us.
The taxis are reasonable , it was about 2 ? to the first parade of restaurants and 4? to the harbour at the end of Puerto del carmen, which had better fish restaurants and a great view.
There were bars and amusements and some good shops within this short distance but for daily provisions the apartment complex had it's own supermarket on site which was fairly well stocked so we didn't need to carry heavy goods uphill from town, which was very useful.
The transfer from Arrecife airport was only around 20 minutes including stops which made the arrival/departure process very easy.
I would recommend this resort and the Hyde Park Lane bungalows for anyone needing a chill out holiday, with little noise during the day and virtually none at night and all amenities close by."

We have been to Hyde Park Lane Bungalows...
"We have been to Hyde Park Lane Bungalows four times now and love it. The bungalows are clean, well equipped and just the right size for us, 2 adults and 2 children. There is a nice little patio with table and chairs and gorgeous flowers surround the bungalows.
The staff are really friendly, the bar is just the right size, restaurant nice and reception very helpful. The short walk into Puerto del Carmen is a must in the evening. We have our fav restaurants, one of which is Don Camillo, the waiters make a real fuss of the kids.
All in all we love it in Lanzarote and have managed to get back there for 3 years on the trot, going twice in the first year."
