Hotel THB Flora
About Hotel THB Flora
The three-star Flora Apartments are ideally situated to enjoy Puerto del Carmen, one of the Lanzarote’s most famous resort areas that is considered the heart of the island. Just 7km from the airport, the hotel is nearby to everything needed for a memorable family holiday, including the beach — just 800 metres away — and plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants.
When you’re not exploring the lively surrounding area, you can relax by the large swimming pool. Alternatively, you can spend your time relaxing on your well-sized balcony, which overlooks the pool area (meaning parents can still keep their eye on their children when they want a break).
There’s also plenty of activities provided by the hotel, too — these include a playground, arcade games, pool tables, and ‘Splash Park’, a fun water zone for children.
Room Information and Room Facilities
There are 205 rooms available at Flora Apartments. Of these, 161 are one-bedroom apartments, 12 are two-bedroom apartments, and 31 are studios. Which room you choose to book will depend on your needs. The apartments have separated bedrooms and a well-sized lounge area, which is ideal for small families that want to be in the same room.
Nearly all the two-bedroom apartments come with sea views, while most of the other accommodation will look over the pool. Whichever accommodation type you end up staying in, you’ll have the same great facilities, including satellite TV and safe deposit box (for a fee), kitchen with microwave, and balcony. The kitchen and balcony is perfect for those evenings when you don’t quite feel like venturing out, but still want to do something special — at those times, visit the supermarket, pick up some food and a pack of playing cards, and head back to your room for a special meal and a night of fun with your friends and family.
Facilities, Entertainment, Activities
The Flora Apartments resort offers plenty of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Kids will enjoy having fun at the playground, playing the arcade games, and at the on-site water park. When you all come together, you can engage in some friendly competition by hosting a family tournament at pool, table football, or billiards.
In the evening, there’s plenty of on-site entertainment to ensure the fun never ends. There are professional shows two times a week, with other entertainment several times a week. There’s also a minidisco — along with a miniclub — to keep your little ones occupied.
Need to do some mid-holiday washing? Never fear — there are coin operated washers and dryers located at the hotel. There’s also a supermarket and other souvenir stores located right at the hotel, so you can make the most of your room’s kitchen and microwave with products bought just a moment away from your room. Wi-Fi is available, too, but may be subject to an additional charge.
Food and Drink Options
Guests of Flora Apartments can choose from a number of board types. These choices are self-catering, bed and breakfast, half-board, or all-inclusive. Guests who don’t want to worry about sourcing their food and drinks should opt for the all-inclusive option, which includes all meals, snacks, and drinks.
Breakfasts are continental, while the lunch is an assortment of hot and cold food. The dinners are at the buffet-style restaurant, and feature a different cuisine theme each night. Those who opt for any of the other packages, specifically self-catering, will have more choice regarding when and where they eat.
With plenty of excellent restaurants just a short walk from the hotel, even those who have food included in their package and will want a meal or two away from the resort.

800 metres from beach
"Flora is located on the outskirts of the resort and is at least 800 metres fairly steep uphill from most facilities including the nearest beach which is of postage stamp size. Try walking from there at 2.30pm in 30 degrees sunshine ! You'll do it once ! The beach contains large rocks and is covered at high tide. It is suitable for divers who descend in shoals. All other beaches are reached by taxi or bus.
Flora Apartments are adequate but would benefit from reinvestment. Internal repairs to plastering and skirting boards in my room was of third world standard. Cracks between wall and sofa-top was home to tiny harmless ants. External lamp was hanging unsecured on wall. Balcony furniture was of mixed colouring, old, stained and damaged.
Our room (two adults)was clean and quiet facing the pool. Beware of the extemely noisy roadside apartments. Breakfast was good. Reception and dining room staff were very friendly and efficient. Pool area adequate but liable to get crowded due to distance from beaches."

Beware...horrible apartments ...dont go ..or stay //
"Stayed At the Flora Apartments with little girl of two and partner ...Booked my holiday all year looking forward to the hotel ...got there and discovered my room was not ready .The staff left us to wait for 3Hhrs until they painted the room ..all electric switches were very dangerous and hanging out the wall .The bathroom was disgusting and the cleaners only clean when they feel like it ...Sometimes dont Change your towels for 5 days .The staff were very cheeky and never understood you .The Entertainment is crap ..They play bingo every nite with a small bingo board ..its like been in a school hall ...Also the entertainers are rubbish ..specially if they meet young people who they get friendly with as the entertainment if for ages 18-30 //This hotel is not for young families and dont understand why they advertise it like this ....The pool area is very slippy at the kids area and dirty at the adults area the pools never seems to get cleaned .the staff can be very cheeky and are only ok with you if you are throwing money at them every two secs for drink ...pablo the entertainer is very unexperienced and the music is very loud drowning ...the hotel is situated on a big hill ..this is very slippy brae you have to walk every day down to the promenade. The hotel is very unclean and noisy all through the night until 2am ...this hotel is good for those who like partying but no way for young children ...half the time the bar is very empty and there was nothing but trouble in the bar area every night with security on the door .It a awful hotel and also the bus times are very irregular and dont come when they say they are .The resort is only handy for those who drive and also there is nothing to do here for kids .I wasted money on my holiday and would never go back ."

"Hubby and I stayed for a week 17 - 26 Sept 05 in Flora Studios (through brightly lit and pleasant tunnel under road from main complex). Studio small but ideal for a week's stay. Very clean and kept that way by lovely staff. Team of maintenance men on site at all times. Quite a lot of school age children staying in main complex which was a suprise but nice and quiet and peaceful at the studios - pool lovely but there is no shallow end if you just want to cool off without exertion!! Quite a hill into town but good exercise if you are up for it. Nice little German pub on way up. German beer lovely.
Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Flora. Watch out for boat trip to Fuertaventura - its a complete rip off."

Pretty good but needs a little review on service
"The Flora is better than most I have stayed at in the Canaries, clean, tidy and modern. The only down side is the grumpy blonde German receptionist (others make up for her). She thinks customers are a nuisance. A real failing is that no one picks up glasses from round the pool resulting in the inevitable nasty cuts. Other than that it is value for money"

"My wife and i stayed at the Flora with my 9 year old girl. The room was on the main road which was a bit noisy, however very clean and tidy, we think better and quieter rooms in Flora2 across the road. The entertainment team were not that good the first week and many of the children had to rely on me to do my dance, which mums, dads and kids loved. The shows at night were not to bad but some are more designed for the adults. Siad in the disco bar was brilliant and also Cristobal in the main bar area. The pool in Flora1 was crowded and sometimes a little dirty, but not a problem in the pool on the Flora2 side. On the whole a really good holiday and we would go back even just to say hi to all the excellent staff, including the hotel director Pepe and his family, who did everything to help us have an enjoyable holiday."

wouldnt stay again
"Just back from the flora apartments after a 2 week holiday and I wouldnt stay again. Stayed in a studio as my boyfriend and i usually do but the studios in the flora are Tiny! They have bad security, only a small window and no real terrace. The complex itself is very beautiful with a lot of amenites and has 2 lovely pools, this does stand in its favour. Nowhere in the description of the hotel does it mention the huge hill that you have to climb daily either. My parents stayed in the new town at the same time as us and after seeing their accomadation that they payed less for I was gutted! Shop around!"

Ideal for Relaxation
"We stayed in the Bungalows across the road from the main building (accessed by a tunnel) and they were idyllic. This place is paradise for anyone who wishes to laze around a quiet pool a million miles away from crowded beaches and nighclubs (this is possible in early May anyway). The heart of the resort is close but Puerto del Carmen's harbour is even closer. The fish restaurants around it are ideal for an insight into the real Spain. The Flora is located on a hill away from the resort so it won't suit everone. The view from the top of this hill is spectacular. I especially liked the way the complex is laid out-it is very unusually as are the cages of Canary birds at the entrance to the bar. This place proves that the New Town is certainly not always the bast place to stay."

Child Free Area
"The perfect location for a winter break.
We were self-catering but in the Old Town down by the harbour there is an excellent choice of restaurants. All of them are reasonably priced, serve good food and have an excellent ambience.
The main centre of Puerto is a bit grotty and has plenty of tatty shops.
It is only a short taxi ride away and costs about £3.
However, there is an excellent shopping mall just up from The Old Town
We visited the Flora in late November so there no children about.
The pool area is excellent and as there were no children it was blissfully quiet. The bar at the pool serves reasonable snacks and drinks.
The public areas of the complex are well maintained and the staff are very freindly. The staff at the Reception are excellent.
The rooms are a bit basic but are well maintained.

Excellent time at the Flora Apartments
"Just got back from the Flora Apartments 1/11/04 weather great around 30c in the day and around 22c at midnight when we were getting in, had 2 very light showers in the morning near the end of our break and one heavy shower one evening while out.
The apartments are very spacious one bedroom and have an L shaped sofa in the living area suitable for kids. The maids came in most days and changed the towels and bedding was changed twice while we wer there. Excellent service from the handymen around the complex when we reported the electrics out caused by a blown bulb somebody was with us in less than 15 minutes.
We were in room 109 which is ground floor by the pool which was excellent to be able to nip back to the room whenever we needed anything.
The pool area is quite large and there are plenty of beds to go around, the pool varies in depth from 0.9m to 1.9m with a separate pool for small kids. The only problem with the pool area was that around the pool was painted white and when this was wet it became very slippery and quite a few kids fell over.
We were s/c so i don`t know what the food was like in the restaurant but there are plenty of places to eat in Puerto Del Carmen.
The apartments are at top of a steep hill but about halfway up the hill is The Purple Turtle which is an ideal stopping off point for a rest and a cold drink, they also have some good acts on and will stay open as long as people are buying drinks.
Overall I would say these are excellent apartments in a quiet location but not too far away from a range of shops and bars."

BEWARE OF THIEVES
"Stayed at the flora from 06/09-16/09 Holiday didn't start great as it took over 2 hours before we even got on the bus to the resort with resort hoppa booked through low cost holidays. com ( as was the hotel ) So by the time we got there, the bar had closed and couldn't have a meal!! On arrival was thrilled with the hotel and the pool area and rooms etc... all clean and well kept, our room 207 overlooked the pool and we were happy!!
We were all inclusive and came down for breakfast the next day, AWFUL is all i can say about the food, some days edible others VILE....
I have never left a bad review about a hotel before and am only doing so to let people know about the problems we encountered!!
WE had to leave the window into the room open as there is no air con and the rooms are soooooooo hot!!! Our room was on the first floor, it would have taken spiderman to get in through the window, however after returning to the room after seeing friends off, were still on the complex having a drink at the bar, and we can see our room from there, We found many items stolen including a mobile phone being charged with charger taken too, perfume and a carton of cigarettes... They even had the nerve to pinch one of my bags to carry the items in!! Also a Bracelet which i had only taken off ready to put back in the safe...
We insisted the police be called, which they arrived swiftly, however management could not get them out of there fast enough...
We were told that this has never happened in the hotel before LIE!!! i checked on my return to find a review regards a stolen phone, and also 2 nights after our things were stolen another couple had there kindle stolen from there room which they insist was LOCKED!!
couples we befriended also asked the manager about the robbery and he denied it!!!!!!!!
I appreciate these things happen but is it not the duty of the hotel to warn their customers to keep windows closed etc.....
Even though we had a very very stressful time and were dying to get home, it was so upsetting and management did not want to know.... The staff were brilliant all of them, very friendly a big thanks to yavier and the other chap on reception who could not do enough to help.... yose behind the bar was lovely too...and the entertainment team deserve a medal as i have never been around a pool area with so many miserable people!! Thank god we met some great irish friends to at least make the holiday bearable!!
Moral of the story, do not go to this hotel unless you are willing to lock everything away!! DO not got AI food awful!! High season a nightmare it is dash for the sunbeds, so unless you are up at the crack of dawn, forget it ( later sunbeds much easier when hotel quieter )
