"Stayed at the los hibiscos apartments for 3 weeks, fully inclusive over the 2015 Christmas period booked for 4 adults, staff friendly and helpful, rooms nice and clean.food was average as we where not paying for 5 star food but satisfactory and the fresh prawns were delicious.good location to get to the beach but you have to be quite fit to walk up the hill back to the hotel.would not advise anyone to go in the summer months as there are no air conditioning in the rooms.overall a great place to spend a holiday over the Christmas period."

Will definately come back again
"Great complex, very clean. It has recently been taken over and the new owners are working hard to improve things. We had a one bedroom apartment which was extremely spacious, again very clean, offering all the facilities of self catering (the fridge/freezer came in handy). The shower in the bathroom was almost like a power shower. All the bedroom windows open onto a walkway and the majority of the balconies have either a pool or sea view and some have both. Pool area was kept very clean and the pool thoroughly cleaned every morning. There are now plenty of sunbeds as Health & Safety have increased the number they are allowed, which was the issue before. One of the downsides is there is no entertainment on site but the bar area is very pleasant to sit in during the evening, and there is usually music via a radio. The bar staff can be quite entertaining in the evening as well. The bar closes dead on 11pm with no further drinks served - as 11pm approached we would order 2 drinks each at a time and take them up to our apartment. Another downside is there is no air-conditioning, but fans can be hired for 16 euros per week. There is interent available at the complex - one euro for 10 minutes - but there is not WiFi. The All Inclusive is definately good value for money from a drinks point of view. The food was OK but could have been better: breakfast was good, cooked and continental; lunch was OK, there was always something that you could find to eat; dinner was rather hit & miss. Overall the food was well cooked, hot and plenty of it. The restaurant was clean, if a bit clinical looking. The new owners are looking to install air-conditioning in the restaurant in the foreseeable future and eventually the rest of the apartments. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Many of them spoke good english. The complex is at the top of a steepish hill which might be a bit too much for the older generation, but it is only a couple of minutes from the beach and the many shops, bars and restaurants. For what we paid, we thought we got value for money, if only from a drinks points of view. A coke in some the the bars was 3 euros; sitting by the pool all day, in temperatures of 45 degrees plus, you could easily get through 5-6, which in a bar would set you back 15-18 euros. There are a couple of bars opposite the complex - The Snug and The Rendevous - which are open until the early hours and offer a quiet place for a late night drink. There is a Chinese Restaurant opposite which offers take away. There are a number of reasonably priced designer shops - Fund Grube and Mint to name but two. Picnic and Linekars Bar offer free Wifi. There is a local Spar right opposite which is open M-Sa 8am-2pm, 4pm-8pm, closed on Sunday. There is another Spar down the hill which also opens on Sunday. There are plenty of bars and restaurants which offer meals at reasonable prices."

"Apartment furniture smelly. Bedroom window opens put on to walkway so cant leave it opened at night. They were doing a lot of work to grounds at time which was good......and also some very rough people staying there at time who took over the whole pool. The rep and managment turfed them out after one or two nights which was a plus for them. location very good and security man on duty every night. If they brightened up the rooms and got new furniture would be ok "

"My boyfriend and i stayed in los hibiscos for two weeks from the 24th july to 7th of august. the apartments are very very basic u have to hire out everything like a kettle, toaster and tv all the things u would expect and they are not cheap to hire either in our apartment we had a few visitors like cockroaches but when i saw the mouse that was enough and we werent the only ones with mice i was talking to a couple that got moves apartments because of them ....For those going with kids or wheelchairs i would b so careful the ramps there are deadly steep its even hard to walk down them let alone push a buggy or wheelchair.. and as for the pool it was absolutely disguisting on one day there was vomit in the pool and no one came to clean it and it was reported... and on the second week nearly all the kids that went into the pool came out with a rash in there private parts and not once in the two weeks did i see the water get tested, i may seem like i am totally putting the place down but i am speaking on behalf of friends that i have met there and they all agree... only thing that was good that the apartments were cleaned nearly everyday but they obviously not clean enough if the mice are there...."

not that bad
"read all the reviews 2days before i left. was dreading it. went june 2010 and it was fine. got it for very cheap and wouldnt have expected anymore. spotlessly clean. towlels and bed changed twice in the week. the walls are very thin and our apartment was on the ground floor beside the stair well which was very very loud. all the staff were lovlely and friendly.we asked out lock be fixed as it was very stiff and it was changed within twenty mins. the cleaners decided at half nine everymorning to have catch up chats and were so loud, ver annoying. the secrity guards (2) were very friedly and helpful, felt much safer. pool was big, and very clean as was the area around it. the poolbar/restaurant opened when it felt like, about 3 times in the week but that didnt bother us. would only stay here again if i got it cheap again and other that lack of sleep i cant complain about it!! oh and saw one cockroach the very last night and it was outside!!!!"

"stayed in april for two weeks. No basic stuff in apartment like phone, toaster, kettle and microwave had to rent all. Security man on duty at night. couch stinky. Bedroom window could use bars and non frosted glass as it opened on to walkway so could not be left open at night. location...the best thing near to everything. The place was cleaned maybe 5 out of seven and saw only one cockroach."

Good value for money
"just back from holidays at Los Hibiscos. After reading reviews I was a bit apprehensive but I was plesantly surprised. Apartment was spotless. Towels and sheets changed every second day. if you are looking for a basic 3 star apartment I would recommend same. I believe apartment was only recently renovated new fridge and freshly painted. did not cook there as you can get a full breakfast for two for 5 Euro. Location excellent central to everything. One note of caution not all of the apartments are not up to same standard as some are still being renovated. "
