About Bitacora Club

The hotel prioritizes relaxation with a laid back atmosphere, but in just a few minutes from leaving the hotel you can be among the many bars and restaurants that make up the area. The hotel itself features 85 one bedroom apartments, and has on-site amenities to make your stay extra special. Compared to other hotels, the Bitacora offers a personalized experience, with staff keen to ensure that each and every guest is having a wonderful time. It is this attention to the small details that makes the hotel an attractive option for families who want to be near to the action, but also far away enough that they can still relax in peace.
With plenty of features found in the apartments, including television, separate bedroom, and balcony or terrace, you’ll enjoy living the simple life full of pleasures while on your special holiday.
Room Information and Room Facilities
The apartments come are well-equipped with everything you’ll need. They have separate bedrooms and living areas, with two single beds in each bedroom. If a third person is staying in the room, they can use the pull out sofa bed, which is located in the living room. Parties with more guests will need to book more than one room.
The bathroom features both a shower and a bathtub, so you can quickly cool down after a day by the pool or jump in the bath for some extra relaxation. Rooms also come with a kitchen, which features a two ring hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a fridge. Every room has a satellite television, which picks up several channels from Ireland and England. The private balcony or terrace has tables and chairs so you can spend your time relaxing as the sunsets.
Facilities, Entertainment, Activities
The Bitacora Apartments resort takes care of the essentials. Here, you’ll find all you need to enjoy a relaxing week of sun, sea, and good times. The hotel apartments are centred on the large adult swimming pool that dominates the complex, while there is also a separate pool for children so they can play and splash around without bothering any of the adult swimmers. The complex features a coded security gate to ensure that guests are kept safe at night.
The staff are knowledgeable about activities away from the hotel, and can even help you book them. The area, Puerto del Carmen, offers many great activities for the whole family, including banana boats, jet-skiing, and sailing. Those that prefer their sports a little slower will also enjoy the area’s many golf courses, horse riding opportunities, and boat trips. There is nightly entertainment at the hotel, as well as bingo in the evening.
Food and Drink Options
There is no restaurant located at the hotel, but there is a supermarket on site, so you can pick up your daily food and prepare it yourself in your very own kitchen. This is particularly enjoyable on warm evenings, as you can sit with your friends and family and enjoy a well-made, home cooked meal among a good atmosphere. There’s also a pool-side bar, which serves snacks, breakfast, light lunch meals, as well as drinks.
As Bitacora Apartments is excellently located, you can also walk for just a few minutes to get to a lively area with many, many bars and restaurants. While you may want to prepare your own meals from time to time, guests should take the time to explore the local area as there is a lot of authentic local food available at affordable rates.

"Worst place I have ever stayed. Dirty, crawling with cockroaches, water was brown. There was 3 fights the 2 weeks we were there. After dark there was little to no staff presence so you are left to the mercy of the other inmates out of their brackets on cheap booze. We have been to Lanzarote 10 times and after our stay there we said never again. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Any positive review is questionable."

Family holiday, August 2012
"This is a cheap and cheerful accommodation so don't expect any 5 star luxury. The public areas are kept very clean and tidy and the pool area exceptionally so. During our stay it was apparent that any person reserving their sunbed before 9am would be disappointed as their towels were removed and this was always encouraged. If people reserved beds and went off all day they too would have towels removed. The rooms are a bit dated now and getting a little tired round the edges, they could do with a complete facelift. They are however comfortable and spacious. The rooms are visited by cleaning staff 3 times a week, although the cleaning wasn't fantastic.
There are theme nights held Monday, Wednesday and Friday which are paid for events. We didn't go to them but the people who did seemed to enjoy themselves. Other than these days, the pool bar closed early at just after 6pm. We didn't use it that often but when we did I thought the prices were OK. I didn't warm to the staff; they were never particularly happy. But that's just my opinion. There was bingo every day at 5pm. Always a good laugh and particulary profitable for my dad who was always winning!! Jonny and Lynne did the bingo and were by far the nicest people who worked at the appartments.
The resort of Puerto del Carmen is lovely. It has a fantastic clean beach with calm waters. There are a number of hills in the resort, but we never found these a problem. Even our 21 month old tackled them!! There a plenty of restaurants to choose from along the front. The American Indian is one of the best, serving a varied menu at reasonable prices. For good value try the Hong Kong buffet. Brilliant value and super food. Please, please, please don't go to the Irish Viking. It was just awful. They got our orders mixed up and forget things too. It was by far the worst meal we had in the whole two weeks, and the most expensive. There are lots of people trying to get you into their bar/restaurant. They can become very annoying and you may just have to ignore them. There are also loads of the usual gift shops. We hired a car for three days which is probably the best way to see the rest of the island. We used Plus Car as they seemed to be the most reasonably priced. Their office is situated opposite the Hibiscos hotel in the middle of the resort. I would go back to Puerto del Carmen time and again, it's a lovely resort. As for the Bitacora; well it is what it is!! Quiet and relaxing. If you want somewhere with a little more going on I would avoid it, but for a chilled break, go for it. All in all it was an fantastic 2 weeks."

Cheap but not so good
"GOOD POINTS -its cheap, 10 mins walk to main beach & restaurants etc, reasonable size pool, good little shop on site, cheerful receptionists, comfy beds. bingo at 5pm by the pool !!!
BAD POINTS - pretty dangerous electrics if taking little kids (see pics), cockroaches live under the bath (they did leave us some bug spray though !!! ), there has been thefts there so beware, furniture old & grubby, bed linen only changed once a week (in 38 degree temperatures its not enough) did ask to change but just smiled nicely and said 'no possible only change once' !, only a fan in lounge area not in bedroom & no air con, rusty & noisy fridge, mad scramble for sunbeds at 9am as not enough (most are sunken in anyway). and lastly reception is closed at night so when some drunken noisy traveller types are playing football & jumping in the pool at 4am you can't do anything about it ! and a grumpy/rude manageress.
Basically we have been to lanzarote before and stayed in a cheap apart / hotel but we wouldn't go back to bitacora, would rather pay a little more for a better standard.
One other point, don't book transfers from airport as its only a 15 minute taxi ride (about £15). the transfer company took over 2 hours to get us there.

Decent appartments for a good price
"We stayed for a couple of days at Bitacora appartments. The appartment are quite clean (keep it clean: ants!) and have cooking equipment. A supermarket is next door and there is parking space.
Walking to the beach is about 15 minutes, which is great for partying. "

it was enjoyable
"the self catering was fine because there is loads of resteraunts nearby and there is a bar at the hotel and there is a shop nearby aswell. It is on a hill so it is a big walk but that is ok! it is right beside the beach and it is always warm! But the apartments had tons of ants and they were in are beds and clothes! The rooms were nice though. The furniture was lovely and all matched. It comes with 3 beds and a couch that you could sleep on. The pool is very nice and there is a baby pool aswell. I would recomend this hotel to people if they had a family of 4 or less. "

Very nice spot , Staff were great and friendly
"This resort was very good, lots of helpful staff around not far from the beach or local restaurants plenty of nice beers and drinks at the bar, the pool is very nice, you cant beet the morning dive in the pool after a hard nights drinking, the staff were really helpful and gave us all the information we needed for things to do around the town, they answered any questions no matter how silly or drunk we were. this is a great spot for couples retreating for a break together.
I will rate bitacora 9/10 , don't let the bright colors put you off its a great spot . "

Great value for money
"we found these apartments very central to both the old town and new town. The beach is also less than ten minutes! Cardiac hill was also vey managable however we are young and fit!! The apartmenst are great value for money. Really clean we had a maid twice during our week visit. The pool and public toilets were spotless. The service in the pool bar was very friendly! For Irish people it was great as they had RTE 1 & 2 on the TV!!! if i had one criticism it would be to update bed linen pillows and towels (but they were clean, just bit dated)Showers were extremely powerful and always had hot water. The area is very quiet but yet not far from the busy spots! we would defo go back."

you get what you pay for
"I stayed here in sept 2010. Good location, yes there was a hill but you'd have to be really unfit not to cope with it. The apartment was basic and clean. We were upgraded on arrival from a studio to a 1 bed apartment.
The acccomodation was dated and needed bringing up to date, if I'd have paid £400 for the week I'd have been disappointed but as we paid only about £80 for the week I was pleased. These people who pay peanuts and then complain must realise you get what you pay for and at the Bitacora you do get value for money. "

"just home from lanzarote yesterday, appartment wasnt what I expected, maybe it was the way I booked it but it was only a room with an an-suite, no space to swing a cat. Another thing, it had no air conditioning which was a disaster, couldnt sleep with the heat, it was warmer inside than outside. We rented a fan which was a help but would turn me off going back because of it. The good points are that it is in a good location, very close to the main strip and I didnt see one spider or cockroache in appartment which was great. Hope this info helps..."
