"Overall the appartments are in a great location between the new and the old town. The staff are very friendly. I felt though that the rooms although adequate made for uncomfortable sleeps because the beds were old and hard. Also, the balcony's are nice but the chairs are so uncomfortable that it is impossible to sit in them. The TV has a number of good movie channels that provided a good means to unwind. The pool area is reasonable but very small with many people lying on top of each other. Pool needs to be repainted as it looks old. The water is very cold also and I seen some kids having to buy wetsuits. Staff also provide entertainment throughout the day with activities such as stretching, yoga and cooking. I will not be in a rush to head back to Lanzorote though. I feel you could get far better value for your money elsewhere. The constant harranging of reps on the streets and watered down drinks overpriced drinks in some bars do not do the island any favours. Restaurants are hit and miss. There are also not that many activities of significant note on the island."

"We stayed at the Fariones Apartment Hotel, Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote from 14th to 21st January 2007. We found the Hotel to be very good overall. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The whole Hotel was kept spotlessly clean, with no sign of any nasty insects ! For breakfast there was always a good choice of hot and cold food, together with champagne; very nice if you did not over indulge the night before ! The pool, although heated did not feel especially warm. Sunbeds were not able to be reserved by towel. This appeared to work quite well as only those really using them were able to do so. There were quite enough spare sunbeds when we stayed. The walls between and above other rooms are quite thin and you could be troubled by noise if your neighbours are late to bed or early risers. Entertainment was available most nights, singing, magic or a kind of bingo. However, this did not appear to be much in demand by those staying, usually around 10 or so maximum remaining in the bar for this. In our opinion the Hotel is in an excellent location, 7 or 8 minutes walk from either a nice long sandy beach ( sunbeds 4 euros each per day ) or the picturesque harbour, lined with nice and not too expensive restaurants ( try the tapas ) Overall we definitely recommended the Fariones Apartment Hotel Colin and Natalia Higginson"

"I stayed here for 2 weeks in July 06. Rooms are clean & roomy. Air conditioned rooms with ample kitchenette. Breakfasts, excellent choice & well cooked, very generous on timescale too! Five minute stroll to beach. Entertainment is very low key. Located five minutes either side of old & new towns. Only downside is popularity of quiet pool area with non-residents, these are not kept out, otherwise it would be even better, would definitely return though. "

"My husband and I stayed a week in the Fariones Apts in April. The first thing that struck us was how clean the whole place was, spotlessly so. The pool area, though small was OK and we always managed to get well positioned sunbeds any time of the day we visited it. The apartments are well situated, away from the main noisy street but close enough to walk to. We always preferred to eat round the old harbour area, a 10 min walk away. The breakfasts were superb, a definite bonus, plenty of choice. Only negative thing I could say was it's not the place to go to if you want evening entertainment, because it was very poor, practically non existent, but again there's plenty of nightlife down "the strip" if that's what you're after. All in all we had a very pleasant stay there and would definitely recommend the Fariones."

Loved the Farones Apartments
"We have just returned from a week at the Las Farones Apartments and it was great. The apartments were excellent and such incredible service throughout our stay â the facilities within the apartments itself were excellent and itâs modern and exceptionally clean â maid service every day was excellent â Breakfast was lovely with a wide choice of foods available - The pool area is lovely and towels were available from reception. You couldnât ask for a better location, literally 5 minutes from the old and new town - Restaurants in the Old town were great and weâd highly recommend El Tomato. Overall I would say this is probably the best apartment we have ever stayed in on holiday in Lanzarote and I am extremely fussy! N. Dublin, IRELAND."

"Stayed at the Fariones Apartments for 2 weeks from the 10th - 24th July. Our first impressions were good. The apartments appeared to be clean and well maintained however a few days into the holiday we had a few unwelcome visitors. There were cockroaches in the bedroom and ants in our bed. We contacted reception and they sent up housekeeping to get rid of the cockroaches. We still weren't convinced that there wasn't more hiding in the apartment so sleeping proved difficult. We also found the apartments very noisy. The woman in the apartment above ours wore high heels all the time and you could hear her walking around on the tiled floors at 7am each morning. The pool area is quite small for the amount of guests so sunbeds were being reserved from early morning, if guests are seen reserving sunbeds the towels are removed so there is no point. We did speak to other people staying there and they didn't have any of the problems we had so I guest if just depends on the apartment you get. Overall the staff are helpful and friendly however I wouldn't stay at the Fariones Apartments again."

Want to go back soon!
"i have just returned from a weeks holiday with my father,at the Fariones Apartments. The whole complex was excellent in everyway, especially the breakfasts - we were expecting a cold buffet - but it was wonderful with everything you could wish for - including a glass of champagne! All the staff were helpful and the cleanliness was second to none. I recommend the complex to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing break! Cant wait to go back!!!!"

"We are a couple travelling with a 6 month old baby so our review of the night life of Puerto del Carmen may be slightly limited on this occasion. We enjoyed a wonderful week in the Fariones Apartments, the apartments, facilities and location were ideal. The apartment complex is a sister of the 4 star Hotel Fariones and the Aparthotel Fariones and is situated just a short walk from both of these. Its situated on hill going from the New to the Old town just a short stroll (up the rest of the hill) to the Biosphere shopping centre. The apartment itself (requested and got ground floor) was very spacious even with all the extra bits and pieces required when travelling with a 6 month old. A cot was provided free of charge and was a good quality sturdy and safe travel cot. Black out curtains ensured a good nights sleep even if the bed sheets were of the extremely noisy variety. Two ring hob, microwave, fridge, Sat TV (although as usual only English language stations were Sky News, CNN, BBC world and Eurosport) made up a well equipped apartment. Our ground floor apartment was idea for anyone who has kids, it allowed us to be able to sit outside in the sun on the grass rather than try and find a spot around the compact pool area. The complex itself is very clean, the cleaning staff come in every day and make beds, refresh towels, clean the kitchen, mop floors, etc. Only problem I would have regarding our ground floor apartment was noice coming from overhead apartments was noticeable (especially if occupants were early risers or late night revellers) although this didnât detract from comfort of the apartment. The staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful from the Receptionists, to the cleaners and the maintenance staff. Children are particularly welcomed in the complex and there were activities laid on nearly every day. Breakfast is served from 7:00 - 10:30, there was a wide selection from cereals, fresh fruit, pastries hot food and cold meats/cheese in other words plenty to set you up well for the day. Snack lunches are available at the bar which remains open until midnight. There are two supermarkets very close to the apartments which are well stocked with all the necessities required for a holiday including when travelling with a baby. Safety deposit boxed (deposit and small charge) and towels (â¬12 deposit per towel, which can be changed and refreshed during the week if required) can be hired on site, the latter very handy for easing some of the weight load in the case especially when space is at a premium. Apartments in ideal location between old and new town, couldnât fault food in any of the restaurants we visited all presented good food at a good value price, although personally I preferred the old town as a location. This is my second visit to Puerto del Carmen and Iâve been more than happy after both visits and would consider returning again. I would have no hesitation in recommending accommodation or resort."

"We have just returned from a weeks holidays in the Fariones Apartments and enjoyed a truely lovely week there. The apartment was plently big for the two of us and were spotless clean. Everyday the cleaning lady came around and replaced wet towels, mopped the floor and even washed our dishes in the sink. The breakfast's are served from 7:30 - 10:30 and were very tasty, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, pastries and breads, hot foods and cold meats/cheese. Plenty of room in the restaurant so you're not looking for a table in the mornings. There were not alot of kids around when we were there, but the kids club organiser, Susanna, appeareded to be involved bringing them to the beach, swimming games, painting and a disco. The only negative, as typical in most holiday apartments, was the noise from the adjoining rooms, very annoying if you're beside early risers. We both agreed we would return to the Fariones as the location was ideal between the new and old town."

Best Apartments we have ever been in
"We have just returned from a very enjoyable and relaxing week in the Apartments Fariones. When we arrived ,there was a basket of fruit and a half bottle of wine in our room. The standard of cleanliness was most impressive. Our towels were changed daily. Staff were most helpful and friendly. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and we had a very good choice of food every morning. We had a 5am departure, so our breakfast was brought to our room the previous evening. The only negative comment we would have is that there was very little soundproofing between adjoining apartments, so if the neighbours were noisy you could be disturbed !"

Nice clean complex
"We've just returned from a week in Puerto del Carmen staying in the 3 star Apartmentos Fariones. The apartment complex is a sister of the 4 star Hotel Fariones and the Aparthotel Fariones and is situated about 3 mins walk from both of these establishments. The complex itself is very clean, the cleaning staff come in every day and make beds, refresh towels, clean the kitchen, mop floors, etc. We had a large 1-bedroomed apartment on the ground floor which had a table and chairs so that you could sit outside and enjoy the sun - perfect for families with young children. The staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful (from the Receptionists, the cleaners to the handyman who fixed the blind in the bedroom after i'd mistakenly pulled it out of its socket!). Children are particularly welcomed in the complex and they had an entertainment team there who had games around the pool, in the playground and managed to entertain both adults and kids. The bar closes around 12 midnight and the main barman is a very funny and memorable character! The breakfasts were a surprise as I was expecting the usual boring fare - they had lovely fresh juices, rolls, hot & cold buffet. The only downside with the apartment was that it does not have air conditioning. This was Ok for us as we were there in December and it was a little chilly at night anyway - I wouldnt like to be there in August! I'd also suggest that you request a 1st or 2nd floor apartment - we were on the ground floor and couldnt leave the windows open at night as our bedroom window opened out on to a walkway. All in all, I would recommend the apartment complex."
