Great holiday in a great place
"I'm really not sure that we stayed at the same place as the last few people who reviewed VIK Coral Beach. The whole place was clean and tidy - not easy when it's breezy weather and people don't put empty plastic cups in bins, but the staff kept on top of it. We lost air conditioning after thunder and lightning storm and a very small leak in the roof was fixed within an hour of us reporting it. We were given fans at reception when we told them about the aircon so no problem there either. Ok, it's not gourmet food but there's plenty of it and pretty easy to have a different type of meal each day. We found the staff friendly and helpful on all occasions and couldn't fault any of them. I spoke to one lady there who was complaining about the food and said she couldn't find anything to eat except chips because she didn't fancy fish, rice or pasta - when I asked her had she tried the soup or the salads she said she didn't eat anything like that anyway and the food was terrible. Are people just too fussy? I wouldn't hesitate to go back with my family and think the place was excellent value for money - what do people really expect?? There is a nice path from the nearby lighthouse into the centre of Playa Blanca, which takes around 40 mins to stroll to the centre or it's a 10 min drive from the hotel. We didn't use buses so can't comment on that. Overall it was a really successful holiday enjoyed by us and our teenage sons - it's the first time we've tried all-inclusive and it was worth it. "

"Just returned from a fantastic holiday at Coral Beach. Overall clean, staff friendly and efficient, villas comfortable and food excellent and varied - catering for most tastes. All inclusive drinks are good quality, not diluted as expected. Entertainment for both children and adults. Free coach into playa blanca daily otherwise a pleasant 1 and a half hour walk but taxis cheap anyway. Nothing much around the complex except a couple of other villa complexes and a mini market only 5 mins walk."

wonderful relaxing holiday
"Newly opened so everything was spick and span.all the staff were excellent and couldnt do enough for us.The two bedroomed villas were spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet location about an hours walk fromPlaya Blanca ,but there is a shuttle bus,When we go back we will hire a car (most of the cost of this will be met by the transfer fee)We enjoyed our holiday, particularly as if anything wasnt quite right,it was immediately put right by the staff."

Lovely villas, great value!
"My husband and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary. As we're a bit low on income, we picked this resort for the price, but fell in love with it! Due to it's location, it is priced very well. It is on the ocean front, but it's more like a rocky cliff than a beach. However, they do have a free shuttle that takes you out to the beach in the morning and comes back at twice in the afternoon. We normally stayed out later than the shuttle ran, and took a cab back wich was only about five euros. Also, the rocky shore along the coast at the resort is very beautiful, and you can climb down onto the rocks. We found it quite romantic. The villas are lovely and VERY clean -- in fact, the whole resort is spotless and very quiet and relaxing. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and they really do try their best to accomodate. The food is not the best, but if you plan on going to the beach there are loads of fabulous restaurants. All said, it was a wonderful holiday and anniversary -- we hope to go back soon!"

"Have just returned from a week's holiday here and we got what we were looking for - a quiet, relaxing break in the sun in a really nice hotel. I went with my elderly, visually impaired mother, my auntie and my 3 year old daughter. As everywhere was on a flat level, this meant that my mum did not have too much bother getting around. The room was excellent with two good size bedrooms and a spacious living area with a kitchenette. The bathroom was fine although ours had a bit of a smell in it and when I said to the lady who was cleaning our room, she immediately got one of the maintenance men to come and look at it. If you like a really firm mattress, you'll love the beds - I asked the cleaning lady to put a duvet under the sheets to lie on which made it more comfortable. As the hotel was only half full, you didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed. The pools were clean and my daughter loved playing in the children's pool - most of the week she was the only one in there! I am not a big fan of all inclusive but here the food was very edible and the wine very drinkable - especially the cava! The chefs were always checking that there was enough food out and the meat and fish cooked in front of you was really good. All the staff in the restaurant were excellent - they worked non stop all day and were always smiling - a real credit to the hotel. Barbara and Tatiana the entertainment girls were great - not the 'in your face' types as I have seen in other hotels and because they were so nice, I think that encouraged more people to participate. They even organised for my daughter to win a 'diploma' which she is so proud of! As our flight was delayed on the way home, we were taken to a hotel called Los Zocos - when you compare the two places, you realise just how good the Vik Club Coral Beach really is! We had a lovely, relaxing time at this hotel and if that's what you're looking for, then this is for you."

Nice hotel - wrong location
"Booked the hotel through A1 Travel as stated was close to Playa Blanca beach and town - wrong!!! - hotel is about 4.5 miles from the port of Playa Blanca and 5 miles from Dorada Beach. Walked it one day and took 1hour and 40 minutes. On the positive it is a lovely walk along the coastal path. The hotel itself is very clean and the bungalow apartments are brand new and very spacious. We stayed 7 nights and had the room cleaned and towels changed all but one day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was varied however was often put out an hour before the restaurant opened so was luke warm when it came to eat. However there is a grill where you could get meat and fish cooked on request. The entertainment was provided by a wonderful young lady called Barbara who tried her best to get everyone involved in the daily activities. There was no seperate kids club or play area however I believe these were in the planning. The entertainment at night consisted of various quizzes and bingo hosted by Barbara. There was live entertainment on one night only. The bar shut at 11pm and at that time everyone was turfed out of the restaurant and made to sit outside. Better to order your drinks and stack them up before 11 as there was no facility to purchase any after that. There were about 3 local bars and a supermarket within a ten minute walk across waste land in a nearby residential area. There was a free bus to take you to the beach on a morning which returned in the afternoon. A taxi cost about 5 euros and was a 10 minute ride. We stayed in bungalow 33 which had a prime spot overlooking the atlantic and fabulous views of Feuturventura - could get a bit windy on a night so best to take a cardigan. On the whole had an excellent break and met some good friends ( Gary and Sue (Barrow) - excellent rendition of "dancing in the rain" ) Great for a chilled out holiday with no hassle getting served or saving a sunbed. However recommend hiring a car for the week as a bit out of the way."

"Arrived 13th May. Hotel very isolated. Main resort a good hour and half walk. Courtesey bus leaves hotel in the morning and returns x2 per day thankfully.Hotel not located in main resort.Would be best to hire a car for your stay. Food choice limited, often cold. Ran out of drinks whilst there and this aint good on an all inclusive basis. On a positive note the waiters/ waitresses are lovely. Entertainment limited and needs something more. Not equipt for children yet. No kids menu or built playground. Pool cold.Weather wasnt great whilst there. Very windy and overcast.Met the best people ever whilst away, they made the holiday for a poor northern couple."

"A 2 bedroom villa on all inclusive! Spotless, the staff are brilliant, food is varied and there is always something you like. In a quiet area so not for chavs, lager louts and those who want to party all night. Just left today and will be back very soon. Book while it's this price!"

Misleading info - rocky beach, moon landing walks, nothing here if dull!
"We arrived saturday- The apartments were oly opened last Monday -They are all brand new and very nice, the whole site is really nice - however its in the middle of nowhereand in the cloudy weather that we have had and the freezing wind sadly we can only look at the lovely (unheated) clean pool. The local town is one and a half ours away but you can get a bus there however it only runs once a day. We are all inclusive and on our second night the bar had run out of vodka gin tonic and diet coke and bottled water! Everyone moaning as the delivery date they were unsure oF. Its extremely windy around the pool so far only one person has braved the cold water despite the brochure stating its heated (lol) I suggest you wait a few years so that half built villas surrounding the site and the moon type walk have been developed. The local bars and supermarket are nothing to shout about and a walky rock walk However the staff are lovely and very efficient but if you are all inclusive and the weather is bad you are stuffed because there is nothing to do.The beach is just rocky terraine and although it says 500 metres away you cannot access it from the hotel the gates are locked. PLAYA DE BLANCA is a pretty town and warmer than here .The name of the hotel is misleading we chose the hotel partially because of the name'coral Beach' thinking there was going to be a lovely sandy beach!"
