Whichever you choose, you’ll have plenty great facilities in your room. Of the 414 rooms at the hotel, 45 have a connecting door. This may be useful for families who want easy access between rooms. You can also upgrade to a junior suite. Basic facilities include a television and air-conditioning in the lounge, as well as kitchen appliances such as a microwave, refrigerator, kettle, and juicer. There’s a sofa in the lounge, which also folds out to become a bed. All rooms have a balcony or a terrace, so you never have to be too far away from the magnificent Lanzarote sunshine.
Facilities, Entertainment, Activities
One of the resort’s greatest selling points is its staggering number of pools. There are ten in total, and four children’s pools. There’s also two outdoor Jacuzzis for those times when you just want to feel truly relaxed in a stunning environment. There’s even a waterpark called Aquasplash, which will have your kids occupied all day long, while the new premium ‘Zone Chill’ is an adult only feature that will make your stay luxurious. Kids also get to benefit from the onsite mini-club, where they can play games and meet other children. There’s plenty of sports to be enjoyed at the Holiday Village Sun Tropical Hotel. Try your hand at tennis, volleyball, table tennis, billiards, or football, among many others, or just keep your fitness up at the gym. In the evening, head to La Taverna or La Carpa for entertainment and drinks. The resort also provides useful services such as internet and laundry facilities (for a fee).
Food and Drink Options
Whether you’re staying room-only or all-inclusive, you’ll never have too much trouble finding delicious food. There are two large restaurants located at the hotel. The first is a typical Spanish tapas bar where you can enjoy the local specialities. The second is an Italian restaurant that serves pizza and other Italian dishes, as well as wine. Alternatively, you can also make the short walk into town and choose one of the Playa Blanca restaurants, or take a taxi to Puerto del Carmen, where you’ll find dozens of restaurants and bars. As you have your own kitchen facilities, you can choose to prepare your own meal by picking some food and drinks from the nearby supermarket and eat it on your balcony or terrace, After dinner, head to La Taverna or La Carpa, which serve cocktails and other drinks well into the night.

This place needs investment in STAFF!!
"Well if you are looking at going here id look elsewhere. I will start by saying i stayed here 3 yrs ago and its like a different world now.. The food is utter cheap rubbish and i am not a fussy eater I can do the cheap food but this stuff all tastes the same and is of a very poor quality. The pool area is fine although a few sunbeds have seen better days. Now when I last visited I remember it not being hard to get drinks at the bar well that has all changed.. I couldnt believe that with lots of people in the complex there was only 2 staff on for serving and cleaning up! It sometimes took 20 mins to get a drink and the quality of them drinks was poor too. I dont mean to put a downer on the place but its decline is shocking and its all down to cheaper food, drinks and less staff Thomas cook need to look at this as they are selling a very poor holiday here..."

"stayed here jul/aug 2012 with my partner and son aged 9. on arival we were told our rooms were not ready. go have kunch and come back. after lunch our rooms still not ready so i complained to ash and emily ( kids club ) as the on site rep not avaliable. we then were given our room. the rooms were basic and our wardrobe door had to be fixed hen we got there and the shower rail had to be put back up three times in the week we were there. food is okay if all you want is salad chips pasta and rice. note to all blondes the water in the pool turns your hair green - use tomato ketchup to get it out and keep out the pools - thats the advice from management. all white shorts and bikins will also turn yellow/green once you have been in the pool. they state no saving of sunbeds but we had a family opposite us ( managing directors family) who all had their sunbeds saved and tables in restaurant reserved for them. sorry but without us holidaymakers he would have nothing to manage. cats all over the site and one black dirty one in restaurant.has put me off lanzarote altogether and not happy with thomas cook as a travel agent."

"Just back from sun topical/island. Had a fantastic time!! Hotel Apartments were very nice and clean. Staff were really nice. Reps - Laura, Clare, Owen, Natalie & Freddie work so so hard to keep everyone entertained. Their shows were fab. Keep up the fantastic work guys you made that holiday brilliant. Especially enjoyed the pantomime day. Food was good and pool around the apartments were great. Highly recommend this as a good family complex with plenty for all ages."

Best holiday yet
"We wet there with 4 adults, 3 children and an infant. Room was spacious and clean . Food was different every night and entertainment team were great. The chocolate night at the kids club was great fun for the 3 children. Plenty to do during the day and night. Great that you get free nights in the pizza and tapas restaurant. The only negative is that the main pool is freezing however some of the smaller pools were warmer. We would defo go back. "

great holiday thanks to holiday reps
"Returned from holiday 17th May 2012. Stayed at this hotel and had a really great holiday. Went with husband, daughter, son-in-law and twin girls aged 3. The complex is well thought out with plenty of pools, sun loungers and space for everyone. The rooms are spacious and airy, and the air con was a bonus as we had a heatwave. Clean towels and bedding in plentiful supply. All hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. Reception staff helpful and obliging. The food was good and there was plenty of choice. My daughter is vegetarian and a bit of a 'fussy eater' but even she never went hungry or complained. The holiday reps really went out of their way to make sure that adults and children alike enjoyed their stay and nothing was too much trouble. The twins did not go to the childrens club but we would have liked them to have at least tried it as other parents said their children enjoyed it. We had a look at the indoor facilities and it looked well equiped. Even though they did not go to the club they were always greeted with a friendly wave and enjoyed spending time chatting with the childrens' reps and entertainment staff. The stars of the holiday were Dizzy and Shades - two colourful characters who in temperatures of 39 - 41 degrees heat donned their somewhat cumbersome costumes to please the children. They all flocked to them to see what antics they would be getting up to that particular day. So to the Awesome Ash, Owen, Smelly Shelly, Crazy Ceirrah, Emily, Janyne, Natalie, Claire, Laura and anyone else I may have forgotten I would like to say a very big thank you for a lovely holday. It is always what you make it but with the help of the above they ensured we had a good time. My husband has usually had enough after a week so we compromised and booked for ten days, but even he said that this is the one holiday when he wished we had booked for the 14 days. Who knows, maybe next time."

"just returned from sun tropical and apart from the weather we really enjoyed it!! we found the staff to be very friendly and very hard working & made to feel welcome. we also found the complex to be very clean & tidy. yes the dining hall is too small for size of complex and sometimes you do have to queue but there was plenty of food both in the dining hall & chicken shack so you wouldnt starve. the only time we were served drinks in plastic cups was towards the back end of the night when people were disappearing back to there accommodation which is understandable as some were taking them out. we stayed for 7 nights and the room we stayed in was cleaned at least 5 times & the villa type appartment was clean, comfortable & very nice. the thomas cook reps were great cannot falt them at all so all in all we had a good time apart from the coldest february they have seen in 36rys!!! (still warmer than scotland) we would go back! the beach is a 15/20 minute walk from the complex. matt & janet davis fife."

I have been to better
"back from this complex and would not recommend. However the restaurant food was fine.We found it very lacking in things to do apart from sitting around pool areas .Even then the bar near the main pool was closed due to no demand( not my comment) but the manager when asked. This was half term in February. I can only presume it is a ghost town rest of the time until high summer. It is a Butlin type of holiday which we both tend to steer from. This holiday was a lesson in not doing our homework and getting what you pay for(£1050 for 1 week inclusive 2 adults from East Midlands)."

3 star - just - no more no less
" Firstly heard from fellow guests whom we met who had previously visited with First Choice and they could not believe the down turn within the Village since its change over to Thomas Cook, well we have just arrived home after 10 days , food was repetative all the time , our 8yr old son was eating bread rolls by the end ,not much choice in the way of food for kids.except ice cream at dinner times , had to pay outwith. Dont get me wrong we all enjoyed the holiday , but we were glad to get home and wouldnt go back . The complex is quite nice looking and safe for kids which is the main thing, main area is kept lovely , but the football and tennis court are quite messy as it is out the way. The Main pool area could be cleaned more as the area was still sticky from drinks spilled from the days before There are 2 parts to it, one for the brits and one side for the Spanish, basically a mirror image , go to the Spanish side for drinks , real glasses ( not in pesi cups )and alcohol ( not watered never got tipsy once ) plus the spannish dome is much cleaner inside. Only one pool bar with one person working at it , she was lovely and works hard to keep the que's down, the chicken shack is what it is , basic snacks . Dining hall is too small for the level of guests, go early or late to make sure you get a table, as we had to wait and when we did get a table we had to clear it ourselves aswell as change the table cloth. the level of staffing is poor and not enough to keep the turn around of diners going. All the staff work hard , so hats off to them ! but just not enough to keep it ticking over. Son went to the soccer school to which he enjoyed immensley, but level of coaching to be desired, especially for £30, probs due to the heat,10 minutes skills then game of football . they went to get drinks from football court to pool bar , as they were nt allowed to get it at the closer snack bar , which is stupid as the coach had to supervise all the kids via the pools instead of being allowed to take them to safer option at the snack bar. Thought the entertainment was more suited to adults during day time , not enough for the mid 9s to 15yr olds, xcept at 4pm were there was a teenage kicks club were it was mostly under 10's . kids enjoyed it but could have been on earlier during the day.Nite time entertainment for kids wasnt on long enough as I said catered more for adults. Would only go back if last minute and could nt get anything else - shame as it could be a really a good holiday place ."
