Jardines Del Sol By Diamond Resorts
10 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"Itâs been a while since I went to Jardines Del Sol. I went in July with some friends and it was the first time I had been abroad. The place is excellent and I would highly recommend it for those of you looking for a quiet yet enjoyable holiday. Jardines Del Sol is situated about 40 minutes drive from the airport. The second we landed, the heat of this country was incredible even at night time. The place is really clean and generally quiet. The Staff are really polite and are always happy to help. The apartments are a little bit more than basic as they include satellite T.V, air conditioning, comfortable seating/beds etc. The Bar is situated right next to the reception and the pool. The reception itself is similar to the apartments (clean, air-conditioned etc) and has its own computers that can be used for internet access (1 euro for ten minutes, 2 euro's for twenty minutes etc). There is a choice of three pools. The largest of pools is relatively clean, however the smaller pool for Kids (due to it being situated underneath a tree) tends to get a lot of leaves floating around in it and isnât particularly inviting. The overall cleanliness of the pools is of the standard you would expect them to be. The town is about a twenty minutes walk from Jardines Del Sol (not to be confused with Jardine Del sol) or a three minute taxi ride (at the cost of about three to four euro's). The town is a lovely quiet place with plenty of choice for food and drink. Be advised that there are literally dozens of electronics shops and that there is usually someone outside inviting you in to buy something, (a little like timeshare sellers...very annoying) Time share sellers tend to be scarce in Lanzarote, although I did have the luxury of watching some unfortunate couple sit and get scammed into "winning" something. There is always something to do at Jardines Del Sol with one of the organizers, organizing activities for people of all ages. The staff at the bar are pleasant and always give you service with a smile on their face. Jardines Del Sol is situated near an Extinct volcano which I would highly recommend going up because the views are absolutely breath- taking
Over all I would seriously reccomend visiting Jadrines Del Sol especially if you looking for a fantastic Holiday"

"We have just arrived back from a lovely stay at the Jardines del Sol (not to be confused with the Jardine del Sol!) in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Having found the accommodation through the internet, we were over the moon when we saw the quality. There was absolutely everything you could need in the kitchen, and the maid service left the rooms spotlessly clean. The staff were fantastic with our children, who we struggled to tear away from the pool. Would definately reccommend it for a family of 4.
We hired a car which made travelling around really easy. The Rubicon Marina is only 2 miles away (bit of a walk) which has a nice compact craft market on a Weds and Sat morning."

"My wife and i have just retuened from a week at jardines del sol(through diamond).and would say we are impressed with resort.
got a taxi from airport( bout 35 euro's)takes about 40 mins,it appears all taxi drivers must be on promises the way they drive.
Check in was effecient and quick.we found ourselves with a 2 bedroomed and 2 bathroomed apartment.which was 2 to a good standard. it has 2 pools plus paddling pool, which are both decent sizes.and plenty of sun beds available round pool.
the main area in Playa Blanca is about 20 mins walk.if u want to go down in taxi about 4 euro's.
plenty of nice restaurants about.especially along the front.to be honest most of restaurants on front are very commercialised,so if u want a typical spanish meal where the spanish go,suggest 'Tipico Canario'(unsure on spelling).its situated behind burger king.was my best meal of hol.
theres plenty of good excursions to go on through which can be booked through hotel.these are ones we did.
Submarine safari-very good ,u go down in sub about 35 meters
where u see plenty of fish, where a diver also goes down and feeds fish.
Titti Trollops- a very funny drag act.which all family will enjoy, nothing to over top ,few innuendo's,which kids wont get anyway.all harmless fun.but be warned if u sit near stage!!!
Catanlanza- u spend an afternoon on a catamarange.meal included,u go out along coast line before stopping, and having luhch and going snorkling and on jet bikes.
only thing that lets the resort done is cafe /restaurant.i must agree with other reviews i have read about it.its certanly not expensive, but afraid is poor quality and lacks choice.
its a shame because this effects the entertainment on site which isnt bad really.cause food its great people dont stop around on site.so even if u go out for evening meal go back for entertainment.' jo Norfolk' decent singer and laugh.and Darren also good especially with kids.
any questions please feel free to ask."

"lovely quiet resort, all the necessary equipment in the villa/appartment including air/con. day time activities for kids and adults just about right ie not over the top. restaurant is more like a cafe but is fine for lunches but not really for evening meals, ideal for couples and families with young children and teenagers, three pools(1 kiddy pool, 1 one metre deep and one 1.7 mt deep)"

A quiet, friendly resort in the south of Lanzarote
"We booked into Jardines del Sol as we were unable to get into our first choice of Club del Carmen in Puerto del Carmen. We had been told it was 'out of the way' but we were very pleasantly surprised. The accommodation was in well spaced out semi-detached bungalows and the grounds were well kept picon (volcanic ash) as are many of the grounds in Lanzarote. The bungalows were well furnished, very spacious and the housekeeping was regularly carried out by friendly staff. The resort was quiet, no rowdy drunks etc. The reception staff were always very helpful as was Darren who was in charge of entertainments. The poolside restaurant/bar was being refurbished whilst we were there so it was not really a fair chance to know what it was like although we did have a few meals there. Only drawbacks as far as we were concerned was that the evening entertainment was a bit lacking (you had to go into Playa Blanca for that) and the supermarket was nothing more than a storeroom with a very basic choice although further up the road was a reasonable supermarket.
Playa Blanca was 20-30 minutes walk away (no hardship for us) using various different routes and seemed to have everything you could need without being over 'touristy' or 'pushy'. Supermarkets galore, bars, restaurants and the port if you wanted to go to Fuertaventura. There were some lovely coastal walks in both directions as well as a local volcano which had some spectacular views from the top.
We would certainly be happy to go back there, especially having seen our first choice accommodation which was much smaller and cramped in comparison."

supposed to be 5*
"I booked my holiday with Sunterra ,It's supposed to be a wonderful hotel . Upon arriving there my thoughts were oh my god !!!!! its like a package holiday here the rooms were basic and not to my expectations I joined Sunterra to have a touch of quality for a change as I have been a package holiday maker for the past ten years and was totally dissapointed. As for playa blanca I was gutted no one could sit on the beach as it was too windy evadently it is windy all the year round in this place
final word to every one dont go to Lanzagrotty"

"Have just returned after a week their with my wife, our two daughters (3&1) and my parents who had recently joined the sunterra club. villa was superb, very clean and all the appliances (washing machine, fridge freezer, dishwasher etc) worked. Kitchen was fantastic, bedrooms spacious, living room comfortable and terrace spacious(be careful if you have very little ones as there is nothing to keep them on the terrace!). The swimming pool/sun area was excellent and very clean, the gardens and general complex was maintained to a high standard. The bar area was sufficient with daily happy hours, didn't use the restaurant so can't comment, BBQ was reasonable though. Only down side is distance from main town and seafront, a bit more than a stroll (probably a good 25-30 mins) but we had a car (7 seater from autoreisen cost £150 for the week), taxi was about 3 euros. Driving is simple as there is no traffic! (Red Ken would be proud). Playa Blanca itself is very nice, great for small children with several decent beaches and many good restaurants. Not a place to go for nightlfe if you want to stay out past midnight but this didn't bother us. Hire a car and drive to Timanfaya, Los Hervideros, El Golfo and Playa Honda, don't bother with operator excursions as they are a complete rip off. Excellent holiday only marred by First Choice flights who deemed that my 3 year old daughter sitting by herself across the aisle next to a complete stranger was 'sitting together' having spread out our group. They also bodged this on return flight despite them promising to sort this out. First choice reps at airport were as useful as a chocolate teapot and fobbed us off time and again."

love Jardines Del Sol
"Absolutely great stay.
The pools are wonderful and there are 2 lifeguards who keep an eye on the children.
The bungalows are air conditioned. Honest. Must of had upgrade.
There is plenty for the children by way of a kids club.
There is entertainment everynight.
And all that is on the complex without going anywhere. Lanzarote is a beautiful place. Lots of places to go and spectacular views where ever you are.

Great Holiday in Playa Blanca
"The Jardines del sol is owned by the Sunterra group. We where on a promotional week holiday ie they where trying to get us to buy. The sales pitch was not high pressure and we didnât buy.
We arrived before check in time but got straight into the accommodation. The reception staff where very friendly and helpful doing everything they could to make our stay enjoyable.
The accommodation is built in the style of a Spanish pueblo blanco or white village. Our bungalow consisted of Two bedrooms one with a double bed and en-suite the other two single bed and a separate bathroom with shower cubicle. Fully fitted kitchen with microwave and dish washer. Also provide where juicer hand mixer/choper and toasted sandwich maker.
The complex had a nice pool surrounded by patio type area with loungers with a few gazebo type structures providing shaded areas. The whole grounds where nicely landscaped and clean. The bar was, as expected over priced and the food was not very good, we had paella and the Wednesday BBQ, the BBQ being the better option. Next to the bar was the so called mini market. It should really be named the micro market as it is just a store room shelved out.
The town of playa blanca is a 20 to 30 minute walk away. There are plenty of super markets we tended to use Supermercados marcial, AKA Spar! Itâs on Limones street the on the main pedestrian drag.
The sea front is very pretty. The walk from where the ferry to fuerteventura comes in round to the Marina Rubicón is really nice, lots of bars to stop at but beware the electrical shops!! They have a reputation for ripping people off. If you do fancy a bargain check with the resort staff to see which shops are reputable.
All in all we really enjoyed our holiday and I would go back to Playa Blanca again"

Lovely Villas - poor pool
"Jardines del Sol provides large spacious and amply furnished Villa/ Bungalows in a well maintained and quiet complex about 2kms from the Town Center
The reception is small but the host very friendly and helpful
The Villas do not have air con so we found it a touch uncomfortable at night time : due to the odd mosquitoes we had to keep the curtains and shutters closed at night.
The pool area was dissappointing. The Pool is split level and uses de-salinated water. The area immeadiately round the pool is grassed with just a few fixed sunshades. Major up- grade is needed I feel.
This complex would suit people without children who are after a get away from it holiday as there are no activities available and it is quite a trek to the beach.
A taxi is needed to get to the Town which will cost â¬3-4
Although we had children we went as a group so enjoyed the holiday - it was to nice have lazy mornings eating breakfast and reading on the patio - late night drinks playing cards
There is a good supermarket at the top of the road for all your needs"
