About HL Paradise Island

The Paradise Island Hotel is a three-star hotel in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, that's both family-friendly and welcoming to singles, couples, and adult groups. The hotel has a very extensive selection of recreational facilities, an evening entertainment programme, and a kids' club and childcare services, so it's perfect for parents who are hoping to get some relaxation time in while the kids are off playing. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, and with a restaurant and bar on-site, there's great food and drink to enjoy while enjoying the relaxing, peaceful atmosphere of the hotel.
Playa Blanca is within convenient walking distance, and Puerto del Carmen is less than 20 kilometres away. Most of the island's major attractions are within easy walking or driving distance, making the Paradise Island Hotel a convenient base from which to explore Lanzarote. Located in a quiet part of the island, but still close to the restaurants and bars of Playa Blanca, there's plenty of entertainment to be had for those who want to enjoy the local night life.

Room Information and Room Facilities

The Paradise Island Hotel offers a variety of one-bedroom apartments, suitable for up to three adults, or two adults and two children. Apartments are light, bright, spacious, and comfortably furnished, with a separate bedroom with twin beds, a lounge with sofabed, private bathroom with bath or shower, a private balcony with outdoor furniture, air conditioning, and a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, and coffee and tea making facilities, allowing guests to prepare simple meals and snacks.
The hotel also offers an excellent range of services and amenities, including an on-site mini market that sell food and simple meal ingredients. All rooms have a safety deposit box, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, telephone, complimentary newspapers, and a regular housekeeping service. Cots are available on request, and accessible rooms are available for people with disabilities.

Facilities, Entertainment, Activities

The Paradise Island Hotel has an extensive list of recreational facilities and services, much more than is provided by most three-star hotels on Lanzarote. Guests have plenty to do even before stepping foot outside the hotel, with an outdoor swimming pool and a kids' swimming pool, a kids' club and childcare services, a playground, a games room, a fitness centre, breakfast buffet and café, and a disco and entertainment programme. Additional recreational facilities include tennis, mini golf, squash, billiards, darts, table tennis, and cycling. In the summer months the hotel's water park is open, with additional pools and other aquatic facilities.
For guests who do want to explore further afield, Playa Blanca is within convenient walking distance. Guests can also hire bikes and arrange for car hire at the hotel's front desk, for exploring Playa Blanca and the rest of the island. Other services include a 24-hour front desk, currency exchange, childcare services, tour desk and ticket assistance, laundry service, medical service, and luggage storage. Airport transfer time is approximately 15 minutes.

Food and Drink Options

The Paradise Island Hotel provides plenty of options when it comes to dining, with three restaurants, a café, and a bar. A buffet-style breakfast in the morning is a perfectly delicious way to start the day, and the Paradise Island Hotel doesn't disappoint, with a lovely selection of hot, cold, savoury and sweet dishes. Lunch offers a similarly extensive list of choices, with a buffet meal served in the main restaurant, and snacks served at the hotel's poolside bar. The hotel's three restaurants each offer delicious meals every night, and themed nights are regular dining events, so there are always new and interesting dishes to try. The main dining room has a kids' section with plenty of fun dishes that will tempt even picky eaters.

"We have stayed at this hotel many times, the apartments are well furnished,. modern and spotlessly clean. It is in a quiet location but the the shops and beaches are only 25 minutes walk away, there is however,a free shuttle bus 7 times a day down to the seafront. there is also a bus stop for local buses near the hotel about 50 yards away,, There is a good selection of both hot and cold food available in the restaurant and there is also a Chinese and Italian restaurant,so you have a great choice of food. There are ample loungers around the pool area and also a very comfortable seating area above the restaurant apart from plenty seats at the pool bar,the staff are very friendly and helpfull nothing is too much bother, Patricia in reception is a gem!as is Emilio in the restaurant. We have always enjoyed our holidays at this hotel and shall be returning next January for 5 weeks it is very good value for money, Frank Thompson,"

The bed was so hard it is like sleeping on the floor we spent week sleeping on settee only to be told at the end of holiday we could have hired a bed topper room had a damp musty smell like it had been locked up for months . . Food was so bad you got chips and fried sweet corn dished up for breakfast lunch and dinner . The next day was fried peppers from the night before . We got there on Thursday had food on Friday but after that both my husband and I spent 3 days being sick x was told by Thomas cook rep who was so young and scruffy that we should have gone down to the town got sick note from doctor but being unable to leave the room it was very hard . We asked about hand gel being used in the restaurants and was told by rep " there is one in the toilets " We spent the rest of the holiday eating out . Playa blanca is such a nice place this hotel needs to be cleaned up and not to be sold as 4 star . Not suitable for adults only and it was not a cheap holiday . Thomas cook how can you sell this as a 4 star?..............."

"Fist of all let me say I don't agree with the comments of people who say the food was awful I have no problem with the food what I did have a problem with was the hotel. The rooms are dirty and full of flies the pics you see on here are nothing like the room we stayed in. The pool area is ok and the water park is average at best. Most of the family's that stay there are the same sort you find in Blackpool apart from the few who are actually there for a family holiday. The staff are nice enough but don't bother looking for a Thomas Cook rep because you wont find one. All in all I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has kids and if the DSS look at this site I advise them to go to paradise island and see all the dole scroungers lay by the side of the pool sunbathing. Awful hotel

"From arrival it was just a free for all. The hotel was full and although there were 2 restaurants that boasted an alternative Italian/Chinese menu, we found this on only one night. The rest it just part opened for extra seating. This was often difficult even then, and if you were lucky enough to find a seat you maybe even luckier to find a plate and cup! Half of the drinks machines either didn't work or were empty. The wine was like vinegar. The food I would not give my dog! We lasted 3 days, the 3rd day consisted of soup for lunch and dinner then we ate out for fear of food poisoning. The queues were ridiculous for food and you could be stood waiting for things to be refilled. The first morning I was horrified to find huge cockroaches running around the restaurant ,the staff did not try to get rid of them just merely dodged them! The Thomas Cook magazine boasted a 2012 refurbishment, I think they wrote about the wrong hotel. It was very tired and dirty. In our room there were cracks in the bath, light fittings hanging out of the wall, a fuse box uncovered on the wall. The balcony floor tiles were all cracked and wobbly. The pool was not too bad, although the majority of the sun loungers were cracked or held together with bits of wood rammed in them and they were absolutely filthy! As much as I hate to do it ,by the 3rd morning we were up at 7.30 putting towels out or you had no chance of a snubbed, and even that early they were almost all taken.Everyone was complaining, you never saw the rep, I'm not surprised I would have hidden too! After a much looked forward to break we were very disappointed and it has made us not want to return, which is a shame as Lanzarote is a lovely place.I'm annoyed as this was not a last minute cheap holiday, we paid full price!"

"I see that no one has mentioned the unbelievable smell of **** that greets you as you first arrive at the hotel and you can enjoy this smell throughout your holiday at paradise island hotel!!!! the hotel is good but they will not spend money and sort out the drainage problem. the hotel is fair priced and you get what you pay for. if you want 5 star then expect to pay for that. this hotel is rated correctly based on the facilities it offers. so to sum it up, if you want to sunbathe next to a strong odor of the local sewerage, want a cheap holiday and want to pay for all inclusive and then eat out most of the time. this is the place for you. for people who like food hot, may i suggest visiting the local DIY shop located 5 minute walk from the hotel who sell cheap microwave ovens so you can warm your food up!!!!!!!!!!!

"We have just returned from a week at the Paradise Island Hotel in Lanzarote and had a brilliant time. Yes, pork was on the menu quite often, but it was cooked and presented in different ways and there were always plenty of alternatives, including numerous very tasty salad platters and chicken, pasta and rice dishes. It was my daughter's birthday during our stay and when we arrived for dinner that night we were taken to a special table with champagne for us and special drinks for the children. The only slight grumble I have about the food is that it wasn't always as hot as it could have been, but that is not unusual with a buffet.
The rest of the hotel was also brilliant, with staff who were very friendly and eager to help, high standards of cleanliness and good facilities. The minidisco was repetitive for us but the children loved it, which is the main thing. Our room had everything we needed and more (fridge, kitchenette, TV, 2 balconies), although I would add that the beds were not very comfortable. The location was fine - close to other hotel complexes - but quite a way from the beach and other amenities. No problem though:- the daily courtesy bus to Playa Dorada beach was regular, timetabled and prompt, plus everything you need is on the hotel complex anyway, including a hairdressers and shop. We definitely intend to return to the Paradise Island next year, when we look forward to enjoying the waterpark (due to open 1 May 2012). "
