"The staff care remains superb, the Friday night meal was a gourmet's paradise which probably could not be found in a 5 star hotel. It was good to meet old friends who also return to the Bahia Blanca Rock on a regular basis. The daily rate for half board remains very competitive."

"we stayed here the first time we visited lanzarote. a beautiful island shame about the bahia blanca rock we were told you won't go wrong with a H10 hotel they are great. the room had cock roaches the food was awful and the kitckens were filthy you could see inside the kitchen when they left the door open i would never go back even for free i couldn't wait to get home. the rep even told us she was leaving her job because the amount of complaints she was getting was now beyond a joke and the company was still sending people to the awful hotels steer clear"

Our second visit to Lanzarote but first ...
"Our second visit to Lanzarote but first visit to Playa Blanca. What a lovely place and the beach is brilliant. The Bahia Blanca Rock is definately a family hotel. The animation team kept our 2 granddaughters aged 8 and 5 happy. Especially Antonio, who they both instantly fell in love with. He has a brilliant way with the children and has endless energy and enthusiasm - nothing was too much trouble. A definate asset to the hotel. The food was very good - several choices everyday and the restaurant staff and chefs were excellent and all worked vey hard. The apartments were ok but need some TLC. and updating but beds were very comfortable and clean. Basically we had a lovely holiday met some lovely people and overall very good value for money."

"I visited this resort with my husband and 2 year old son and I think we all agreed that it was the best holiday we have ever had. The hotel was a little dated, but very clean and had everything you could ask for. It was within easy walking distance of a beautiful harbour in one direction and a lovely holiday resort in the other. Restaurants are plentiful, but I admit the food is very 'average' in the majority of the places. The beach was beautiful and the water clear. We will certainly return!"

This was our second visit to Playa, but ...
"This was our second visit to Playa, but our first stay at the Bahia Blanca Rock. There were 4 of us - 2 couples. We found the hotel to be very clean and tidy - extremely well maintained and looked after. The staff were possibly the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered - No matter who they were, or what they were doing, they would always stop and say hello to us. The rooms were large and clean. The furnishings were as you would expect from a 3* hotel - but the beds were comfortable, and the rooms cleaned daily. One thing I was impressed with was the kitchenette facilities. We were full board but still had a microwave, 3 hob rings, an oven, full size fridge, and kettle. The free bottles water on arrival was a nice touch too! The grounds of the hotel were beautifully kept - the pool was cleaned daily for around 2 hours, so there is no doubt it was spotless. The sunbeds and cushions around the pool were plentiful and there was no problem with people reserving them. We found the food to be excellent on the whole. Dinner was varied and very hot and tasty, with a good mixture of salads, soups, meat, fish and pasta plus the bonus of having a chef cooking one of two "specials" fresh in the dining room each evening. Our only gripe would be that breakfast was often only luke warm, and the breakfast dishes and glasses were chipped and well worn. Also, on one occasion the milk was sour and the following day the fruit juice was sour! We found the location of the hotel an ideal base for everything in Playa Blanca - only 5 minutes to the clean, sandy beaches, 1o minutes to the town centre or 10 minutes in the opposite direction to the Rubicon Marina - which is absolutely delightful and shouldnât be missed. We will no doubt be visiting Playa Blanca again, although we would probably use a different hotel for a bit of variety!"

On our arrival we were given a room over...
"On our arrival we were given a room overlooking a busy road, so we asked for any available rooms overlooking the pools, this was no trouble for them to change. The rooms themselves are very basic and I have to say the bathroom and the bedrooms are tiny. The living area and the kitchen are small but there were only two of us so it suited our needs, but if we had kids with us this would have been a nightmare as I do think the rooms are far too small for any more than 2. The pool area and the poolside bar are very clean and the sunloungers are plentiful so there's no mad dash every morning trying to get your seat. We had an incident where the hob was shorting the fuse every time we tried to use it and the handyman was over within 5mins of me calling reception and he had it all sorted and fixed in no time. It says maid service daily but to be honest all they do we found was make the bed as the bathroom floor was never swept and the balcony was washed once while we were there, the tables and chairs were never cleaned. Overall we had a great holiday and the staff in the hotel were lovely and helpful and the area of Playa Blanca is great for all ages to enjoy themselves. "

The resort was fantastic, great for kids...
"The resort was fantastic, great for kids. The kidâs entertainment team were the best I have ever seen, very dedicated, credit to them. The apartments were basic but comfortable and it was nice to get them cleaned on a daily basis. We were only 5 minutes away from the beach so great location if you have kids. Tried the hotel food for a couple of breakfasts - quite varied with breakfasts from bacon and eggs to pancakes and chocolate sauce, yummy! Glad we went self catering though as it gave us the best of both worlds... it was nice to eat out. Went on the evening volcano tour which included a meal cooked over the volcanic BBQ, fantastic food whilst watching the sunset, although most of the island is volcanic and grey rocks and scenery, it was very beautiful, like being on the moon! Weather was great, woke up on the first morning to cloud but that soon burnt off to leave glorious sunshine all week, although it can be quite windy which on the good side keeps you cool in the hot sun! Restaurants and bars are more catered for families and couples... lots of variety from Italian to Chinese, you would have expected more Spanish dishes on offer though, which was a bit disappointing. We will definitely be visiting again both Playa Blanca and Bahia Blanca Rock apartments. Compared to Gran Canaria which we thought was rubbish... Lanzarote is certainly a beautiful island to visit."

Fantastic resort. Basic but superb apart...
"Fantastic resort. Basic but superb apartments. Great base, beautiful beaches, kids love it. Entertainment on everyday if you like to stay around the apts. Tried the hotel food one night - not great. Definitely would go self catering. Go to Playa Flamingo, mountain climb to Papagayo beaches and do the volcano tour - fantastic! Weather in February a bit hit and miss, but didn't rain once and while a little cloudy some days, there is definitely enough to do in the resort to keep you busy. Nightlife is low key. Restaurants and bars more for families and couples than groups looking for all night parties. Not cheap when eating out every night, average meal for 2 with drinks about £30. Port Rubicon lovely to visit and have a meal, but on the pricey side. Best place we ate was Tipico Canario, great food and fantastic with the kids. Would definitely visit again both Playa Blanca and Bahia Blanca Rock apts. "

Great for families and kids......
"Traveled with two children, one 6 and the other 2. Rooms are adequate with usual mod cons fridge\microwave\cooker. Living space and sleeping quarters are just about right but any more than 4 people would be tight. Daily maid service was excellent. Complex itself is excellent for kids with daily club and nightly entertainment to suit all - Mums and Dads encouraged to join in all the time. Swimming pool is excellent for the kids and supervised by lifeguard. Plenty of sun loungers throughout the day, however this could be due to the fact we visited early on in the season. Only ate breakfast in complex once and was nothing to write home about. Restaurants nearby are plentiful, tasty and very reasonably priced. Not a complex for party animals but very much a complex for families."

Excellent All Round; Great Value for Money
"Playa Blanca is a classy laid back smaller resort suitable for families - not a place to come for partying all night! Resort is 45 minutes to 1 hour from the main attractions on the island; a bit of a hassle if you have kids who get sick on buses. We had 2 x 1 Bed Apartments; 3 Adults and 2 Kids (6 and 3) and an Infant. Location is Excellent; 5 minutes walk from the beach and the promenade with the shops / restaurants. Supermarket just across the road. Apartment rooms were clean and we had a daily maid service. Staff were very friendly. Kids Club and Kiddie friendly Mini-Disco and Entertainment at night. 2 kiddie pools and 2 adult pools; all small. The kiddue pools have steps rather than a shallow ramp into the water; a little bit difficult for our 20 month old. Didn't eat much in the restaurant in the hotel; other restaurants were very close."

Better than Expected
"We have just returned from a week at the Bahia Blanca Rock. On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given room 285 which to be honest is not good. It was dark and smelt of chip fat. We asked to move and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We were given a pool view room the following day which was far better. The rooms are dated, but they are clean and adequate for a weeks holiday. The pool area is fine. It was never over crowded and we had no problems with sun beds. It is about a 10 minute walk to Playa Blanca and about 15 minutes in the opposite direction to the new marina. Playa Blanca is lovely. If you want a nice meal Romatica is supurb and also Tipico Canarian on the front (next to the chinese) was very good. Lani's snack bar in the marina was very good for pizza etc. The Bahia Blanca Rock is definately family orientated and as as far as we could see all entertainment was aimed at young children and families. If you want a cheap week in the sun, with clean comfortable rooms then the Bahia Blanca Rock is worth a visit."

"My family have stayed in these little apartments for the past 3 years running. Fantastic for small children and is very safe. Not the poshest place in the resort, but very relaxed. The Staff are very friendly and we are looking froward to returning again in 2006."
