Holiday club scam
"I cannot honestly say anything about this Hotel as we didn't stay here. The hotel itself looked very clean and inviting except for the pushy sales people working from their foyer. We spent 5 hours with these people they showed us around the hotel and showed us some fantastic holidays. They then offered us a deal that sounded too good to be true this is when we should of realized this was a scam but we continued as we are holiday lovers we signed up for a week back at the Oasis Lanz and 5 weeks anywhere in the world and they also gave us a free cruise and stay for £4200. After talking to other holiday makers and being put off this deal while still in Costa Teguise I emailed them telling them we wanted to cancel we were invited back to discuss the matter. When we returned to the hotel we was told there was no cooling off period and we couldn't claim our money back the manager Paul then got quite angry with us but offered us an exit deal of 1 week back at Oasis Lanz and 2 weeks any were in the world for half the price. We are now trying to claim our money back through our credit card. PLEASE KEEP WELL CLEAR!"

timeshare salesmen working from hotel, SCAM,BEAWARE!!!!!!!
"Its a shame what is happening at the Oasis Lanz Club because it is a lovely hotel. Reception staff are very helpful and friendly, having said that, what spoils this place. Is that there is an if you call office based inside the hotel with salesmen selling travel holiday memberships. Which is basically another word for timeshare, the touts on the street will ask if you want to have a look at their refurbished rooms and you will win a prize on a free scratch card if you come in. You will get in and can't get out because then all the flannel starts, we signed up for a 3 year membership cost 3800 with 7 free weeks accommodation to take anywhere in the world in 4/5 star hotel/resorts, Lovely I thought we were getting a good deal but felt very pressurized into signing,we were told that if we left the building together to go and get my credit card then the deal was off,my husband was taken in a car to our hotel to fetch my purse, alarm bells started ringing but we signed on the facts that were told to us of other benefits and we had to fly back out within one year to activate our membership, first week back this January we discover that unless you upgrade to full membership cost 6000 pounds you didn't get any benefits at all that were told to us before signing, even though this was not in the contract but said verbally,we found out when we got home many bad things and that in the first instance its against the law to not give a cooling off period, which we thought was in the deal 14 days after you sign and you can cancel,,we are now claiming through our bank, paid by credit card under the consumer protection act 1974,to get a full refund, what they have done is fraudulently misrepresentation a product for sale by with holding information for us to buy this scam, please be aware if going anywhere near this hotel."

"Operating from this hotel is a scam selling you a holiday club membership. Jackie stops you in the street in Costa Teguise and gives you a scratch card which shows you have won a prize. To collect it you have to look at their newly refurbished room in the hotel which might make you want to book there in the future. This is not what they are actually selling!! They want to sign you up to a holiday club at the cost of £3700 which must be paid that day in cash, credit card or installments. Pressurized and bullying from the manager Richard just walk away!!"

Beware of grand Hotel Club!!!!!!
"We stayed in Costa Teguise in Feb and were stopped in the street by a rep, Jackie, from the Grand Hotel Club who have rooms in the Oasis Lanz Club. We "won" a holiday on a scratch card and went inside for a tour of the premises and a chat with another rep from Grand Hotel Club. The refurbished rooms were beautiful and the pool and bar area lovely. We were then told that for â¬4200 we could be part of their holiday club for the next three years via Interval International. This included 4 free weeks in luxury apartments around the globe, a free cruise and stay to either the Bahamas or Mexico (flights extra), would allow us to buy extra weeks for £120 per wk for ourselves and family and friends, receive huge discounts on flights/car hire, have a concierge service to handle and arrange our bookings. The only stipulation was that we returned to the Oasis Lanz within a year and activate a Leisure Time Passport at a cost of â¬100 per year for 3 yrs. we are just back and guess what........the staff that we met originally have allegedly been sacked for not spelled g the package. The four free weeks have to be taken within a year, The Additional weeks are between £199 per wk and £1150 per week, and there are no discounts on flights etc unless you upgrade to the full package - at an additional cost of £6500!!!! Naturally we decided not to even activate the Leisure Time Passport and are now striving to get our money back. The company would not refund us. I have goggled the company and found a number of people who have also been scammed. Thompsons, who also use the hotel told me that what this company do is illegal and they have reported them to the Spanish Authorities. So....by all means go to the hotel. It is nice and so are the hotel staff but please please stay away from these thieves!"

Grand Holidays Club are a genuine company!
"My wife and I returned from Costa Teguise yesterday and thought that I would give a short account of our experience. On the first full day of our holiday (9th January 2015), we were on our way to find some late lunch and were stopped by a young man who chatted to us for a bit. I never normally give these people the time of day, especially when hungry, but he was friendly, came from our neck of the woods and seemed to be on the level. He explained that they had refurbished the complex and were looking to drum up some custom. We were taken in to the complex and agreed to a 90 minute tour and an explanation of the club. We were met by a very friendly gentleman called Russell who was clearly very well traveled. He explained all the details of the club, was very transparent about the price up front and showed us accommodation that was mind blowing good. All mod cons, great decor, contemporary and stylish. He told us that this was the typical standard of club accommodation. Without going through the full details of what we were presented with, we were offered 5 weeks holiday at top class accommodation, a 5 day cruise and 7 day stay in Miami, plus unlimited holidays at just £120 per week for a one bed apartment to the standard of what we'd seen (they could get you amazingly cheap flights too. The total cost over 3 years was â¬4200 (£3445), and we paid a â¬400 deposit, with the remainder being payable over the next 11 months. We felt under no pressure at any time and agreed to sign up and were taken to sign a contract that was explained step by step by a lovely lady called Karen. By this time, it was around 7pm. After we got back to our room, we went out for food, but became a bit concerned. As it was the weekend, their office was closed, so checked out the internet. Sadly there were some worrying stories, and we decided that we wanted to pull out. We turned up on the Monday morning, armed with a withdrawal/cancellation letter, fully expecting a battle and, at best, a loss of our deposit. We were greeted by Karen, who listened to us and just said, "that's fine" and promised us a full refund once the paperwork was processed. We were given an appointment for the next day, and were expecting a sales talk at the very least. Instead, the money was refunded, in full onto my wife's card and the money was back in her account before we left the island. We were told during the course of the refund, that the new company management approach was to reverse the somewhat tarnished image that previous employees had left them with. We found the sales team at Grand Holidays in Costa Teguise genuinely friendly, professional and as good as their word. The club wasn't for us at this time, but who knows what will happen in the future :-)"

Grand Holidays - Time share
"We would like to warn people for the dominant presence of the Grand Holiday sales team. We bought a so-called start up package last year at the Atlantic Garden resort located at Corralejo - Fuerteventura. When we purchased the package (4 weeks for 3950 euros) in October 2013. We were led to believe at the time that we were entitled to the membership rooms (the so-called refurbished). Something one would expect for that amount of money. When we arrived we expected to be granted such a room, however we were denied such a room and we were put into a standard room, although spacious heavily outdated, fungus in the bathroom and cigarette stains in the kitchen and bedrooms. Clearly a room that had smokers (we are nonsmokers). Beside that we were exceptionally disappointed about the depreciation of what we thought we had purchased. Of course we complained, but due to prior experience with the Customer Service of Grand Holidays we didnât expected much, the company is well organized in stonewalling their customers and actually doesnât respond to complaints at all. What aggravated us during our stay is that we witnessed that potential customers (mostly roamed from the streets, likely early in the morning) are shown the two bedroom refurbished room located at the east side pool (restaurant area, room # 238). Thrust me this room is only for promotional purposes. You are let to be believe youâve bought a Mercedes but a Lada is delivered (no disrespect to the brand Lada). Imagine youâve been let on (scammed ???) and you witness the fact that the method continuous within your presence, itâs frustrating to say the least. "

10 days in the oasis
"we asked to be moved from the first room they put us in - not only dated but dirty - the second room we where in was not much better - cupboard door hanging off - skirting board off - the rubber seal on the fridge torn off - overall shabby and dated and not very clean. The resort itself was lovely and cant fault the island. It seemed all spare money goes on the time share people - their apartments where grand. the pool and gardens where nice and overall the staff helpful and polite - very disapointed with it - even cheap places can be clean and in good repair - wont use it again which is a shame as was very central to the area - sorry poor apartment "

I wanna go back!!!!
"We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Oasis lanz Club. To sum up the holiday in one world 'FABULOUS'. The apartments were very comfortable, with everything you need. Even the showers were hot!!! The staff were absolutely fantastic. they couldn't do enough for you. The pools were very clean, and very welcoming to cool you down in the hot sun. The pool bar had entertainment arranged during the days and nights. The drinks were not expensive. We didn't eat here as there were lots of very nice restaurants within a few minutes walk. My favorite was El Maestro, but I would also recommend The Lighthouse, The Cutty sark and the Shanghi Chinese. All very reasonably priced. The South Island short tour is a must, with a trip to the valcanoes. The market at Teguise is very repetative, but well worth a visit for a bargin or too. All in all a perfect holiday. I want to go back now!!!!"

Well worth the money!!!
"We returned yesterday from a fantastic 2 weeks holiday at the Oasis Lanz Club. The apartments were very clean and comfortable. The staff very friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. The swimming pools were a 'god send' as it was so very hot. Our apartment was number 155, and was very close to the bar/restaurant and pool. It was a bit noisy, but it didn't bother us. The location is perfect for all of the bars and restaurants. We would recommend The lighthouse bar, El Maestro and the Cutty Sark for fabulous food. There is a square in the middle with a little bar called 'The Snug', perfect for winding down after a long day in the sun. The beaches are very clean, as is the whole of Costa Teguise. A trip up to the volcanoes is a must, along with a camel ride which was a good laugh. All in all, a perfect two weeks, well worth the cost."

you get what you pay for, we loved it
"We spent two weeks at OasisLanz Club, 2/12/2010 to 16/12/2010 Although the apartment was in need of a refurb, it was cleaned every day with the exception of Sundays, we were right next to the main road apart from the odd boy racer the noise was negligible. The staff were polite and the receptionist were great. I will recommend booking any excursions through Last Minute who have plenty of offices in Costa Teguise, if you book via the receptionist it can cost you up to 20 Euros more. On the whole if we went back to Lanzarote we would definitely go back to OasisLanz Club.On a final point we did not eat in at OasisLanz as there were so many places within walking distance our favorite place to eat was Fuel Stop on the beach front great food and all freshly made."

"Arrived back from Oasis Lanz on 1st November Brilliant holiday would definately recommend these apartments. Fantastic location, lovely clean area, nice beaches, bars and restaurants. We ate in a different restaurant most nights all very good quality food. we had a group of 8 people, four adults and a 15 year, 9year old, 7 year old and 3 year old. They all enjoyed the pools. Very clean, maid service every day. Would go back tomorrow if I had a chance."

"Arrived back from the Oasis Lanz Apartments on 21st October, 2010 - we stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was clean and adequate - had everything in that you could possibly need. We asked at reception for extra pillows and while we were sunning ourselves at the pool the pillows were put in the apartment. My two children aged 7 and 4 had a brilliant time - not much in way of entertainment onsite for them but loads to keep u occupied in the town. Pools were lovely and clean. Would recommend the Bulldog pub which is across the road from apartments to the right - nice meals, great friendly staff and quite cheap as well. My kids are very fussy eaters and they always enjoyed the food they got from the Bulldog!! Would defo book up again!!!! "
