no room ready when we arrived at 1pm
"lovely hotel spoilt by reception staff 1 in particular was very rude to me. No room ready on arrival at 1pm no explanation just told it would be a hour ! patiently waited till 2pm still no acknowledgment from reception even though we were sat directly in front of them, people were arriving in dribs and drabs to be shown to there room. My partner approached reception at 2pm to be told still no room again no explanation. Bearing in mind it was over 30 degrees we had been traveling since 4am that morning, by 2.50pm i decided to ask again at reception i was asked who are you i proceeded to say i really needed a room it was hot and we were tired, to be asked could i take some clothes from my case and change in toilet, to which i replied no i want a room. I was then approached by the rudest male receptionist ever to be told room wasnt ready and that was that, i asked why was it that people were arriving and being shown to there rooms after us to be told " because there rooms are ready" i have never been so annoyed on arrival at any hotel in all my holiday years have never had to complain about staff but he was so abrupt, after all that embarrassment another member of staff just leant ove desk and passed me our room key. Really upset me and spoilt my experience. No Tui Rep on site until 2 days before we left i emailed Tui on arrival home but am still waiting for a reply 4 weeks on."

Everything is geared up for the comfort of the traveler with spacious rooms, overwhelming friendliness & cleanliness all set in beautiful natural surroundings. The cuisine is absolutely stunning, offering a full range of constantly varied local & European dishes to suit any pallet, that is cooked in view by the numerous high class chefs. You can create your own dish and sample making it with Ariday, (top Class chef), who is possibly the best chef in the Canary Islands. Ariday is on hand every day to take classes in cooking local & Spanish cuisines, which is a great experience in itself. There is so much to do for the kids and adults alike, which is organized & run by a superb animation team and covers everything from water polo, tennis, shooting, archery & numerous activities that totally blow you away. The evenings are filled with very high class shows that would not be out of place in Las Vegas, all with a different acts on every night. The kids are catered for too, as the animation team take them dancing with a mini disco. Drinks and snacks are brought to you during the shows, as you are waited on hand and foot for your whole stay at the Gloria Palace. Adjoined to the hotel is a £4 million spa & beauty center, incorporating indoor & outdoor jet pools, blue milk therapy pool, relaxation & massage therapy center, facial therapy and much much more. There are 4 flood lit tennis courts on the rear roof and you will be absolutely amazed to see the chill out pool and bar area on the main roof, this has been designed for overwhelming comfort & privacy in mind. The area offers a large chill out pool, private bar, numerous four poster beds covered in silks and a top class la-cart restaurant. "Our first visit to Gloria palace San Augustin & definitely not the last!! Stayed for a week all inclusive with my partner celebrating his birthday & a special anniversary, we were blown away with the service it was outstanding from start to finish. I requested a high floor with a nice view & we were on the 8th floor - top floor for rooms, the view was the best we have ever had & we have been on a lot of holidays over the years! On arrival the greeting and reception staff were fab very attentive & explained everything you needed to know, the service at the desk throughout the stay was exceptional & they could never do enough for you, a nice touch was the name badges with specific languages on them made it much easier to converse. The hotel and facilities were outstanding, pools were clean & inviting & the roof top pool on the 9th floor was gorgeous & well worth the extra cost for a day sunbathing in luxurious surroundings. There are plenty of sunbeds on different levels and the way the hotel is planned out so you get optimum sun hours which is a bonus. The bars were all well staffed & all inclusive options were explained well. My partner would have preferred another draft beer to tropical but with that being the local beer it was the only choice on draft. The cocktails from the bar was great Pina Colada became my new daily tipple. The restaurant was excellent and i found the choice was great, always such a variety & to a good standard. The waiters & waitresses were attentive & got used to what drinks you wanted & were very pleasant. The evening entertainment was a bit poor the acts were on quite early followed by a short disco & singer who sang the same songs each evening. The Thalasso spa was lovely we paid for access to the salt pools & went in just before sunset it was relaxing and very different, well worth a visit. The hotel is in a quiet area with a nice sea front & worth a wander down but not much going on, we got the free hotel shuttle into Maspalamas to the sand dunes & light house, lovely newly generated sea front with plenty of bars & restaurants. After the bars closed in the hotel we got a taxi into Playa de Ingles only 4-6 Euro there are plenty of bars and clubs which were just livening up for the summer. All in all this holiday was one of the best we have had, fab hotel, amazing staff, luxurious surroundings, gorgeous views & good value for money. Definitely recommend a visit. "

Great hotel, highly recommended!
"The second time my family and I enjoyed our vacation in this great hotel Gloria Palace San Agustin. Such friendly personnel, hardworking and obliging. This hotel and the rooms are very clean and the nature is well-kept. Substantial food selection at the buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Those who prefer to eat in the restaurant, the Gorbea offers a selection of delicious dishes, fish and meat. On request, there were also vegetarian food. The hotel features a relaxing spa and wellness area. For entertainment there is a kids club and for the adults various games and sports. In the evening there is children's entertainment and animation with live music for adults."

"I am just back from a week's holiday in this fabulous hotel. It is all you could ask for by way of location and accommodation. The restaurant/food is second to none and the staff are really efficient and friendly. A huge array of fresh fruit and vegetables and delicious food is the order of the day. The restaurant is very well run and there is no delay in getting a table. Pool areas and terraces are spotless with terrific views. Nightly entertainment and dancing is provided and is very well received, with many of the guests taking to the floor. Really friendly twosome providing the nightly music while the 'Act' is different every night. We had a Lionel Richie night while we were there and the artist was just fantastic. Wonderful in-house entertainment. I will certainly return and I fully recommend this hotel."

Wonderful, clean, welcoming hotel with fabulous food and drink.
"We cannot fault this hotel. It is located in a peaceful area, 5 minutes walk from a small beach. The hotel puts free buses on to both Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas every day. If you miss the bus, a taxi costs only about 5 euros. Our room was very clean, and plenty large enough. We loved the attitude of the staff. They were all cheerful and helpful; not like some staff who seem to find guests an inconvenience. Nothing was too much trouble. Food and drink were excellent; available virtually all day in numerous locations. There were no queues, no food shortages, no scrum for food at certain times of day, no queuing for drinks at the bar. It was mainly waiter service, so all very civilized, and generally very prompt service, with a few exceptions. We would highly recommend this hotel and the area. We will definitely be coming back. "

Greetings from Asturias, Spain
"We stayed in the hotel from the 2nd to the 9th of August. It was a wonderful week. We enjoyed the time there very much. We liked the service and the location was excellent too, just a few metres from the beach. All the staff was willing to help us at any time and always with the best smile. The food was gorgeous and very varied. We liked it very much. Our room was very nice and clean and we appreciated to have a kattle o and the possibility to make our own tea or coffee in our room. We also liked all the amenities, specially those at night which we watched every night till 11:30. It was a great stayed. We would like to thank for the surprise we had when we came from the swimming-pool. A bottle of champagne and a card for my birthday was there to remind me that it was my birthday. I really appreciated it. Thank you very much again. The Thalaso was really excellent. The best we´ve been to. "
