Wonderful stay at El Greco
"Enjoyed a wonderful stay at El Greco. Relaxing holiday with most pleasant staff at Reception, Restaurants, Pool-deck and House-keeping. Rooms very clean and serviced daily. Facilities in rooms most adequate. Pool-side meals (wide choice) and drinks very reasonable with extremely friendly staff. Reception staff accomodating and provided a 'service with a smile'.
Location of El Greco - perfect. Virtually on the beach, close to a range of good restaurants and harbour/boat trips e.g. dolphin watching, fishing and pleasure cruises. A short pleasant walk along the coast to Amadores beach, another quiet relaxing location.
Would recommend El Greco Apartments to all, and finances permitting, would love to return for a follow-up holiday next year!"

"well this was by far the best holiday i have ever been on. everything was perfect about the hotel. me and my friend were only 16 when we went but we always felt safe and looked after. as soon as we arrived at the hotel we realised that the staff were very friendly and they always stopped to speak to us and see how we were doing. we didnt pay a lot for the holiday so we were very impressed when we saw the apartments. everything was perfect and very clean. everything that we needed was there and the rooms were imaculate and very big. our apartment looked over the pool, which was always clean although a bit cold!! the bar staff were very friendly and stayed on late sometimes to chat! everything was always clean around the pool and there was always room for a sunbed. the weather was late 20s everyday which is good for december. we went out every night to the centre which was reasonably priced and every one was really friendly!! we're going back in 4 weeks and are very excited!!! An excellent holiday! Weather, location...
"An excellent holiday!
Weather, location (sea views!), eating venues (Oscars, Arizona- fab curry, etc), fabulous cocktails at Wig Wam and Charliez
Very cosmopoliton, although feel that air conditioning/ceiling fans would make it that extra special.
Would definatley recommend this venue to all.
Thanks to the fantastic room service.
Thanks to the "El Greco"

"Excellently situated. The room for 5 is terrible. A small 7x8 room with a double bed in it, meant for a single bed. Light switch and plug in between pillows. A nice size twin room and a put you up in the lounge. No air conditioning, told there was, cost 30 euros to hire a fan for 2 weeks. Its 150 euros deposit on the room on arrival, had no probs getting it back. Its clean, new towels every day. Harbour lights do a great sunday roast and a quiz every night. Once we got over the shock, we enjoyed ourselves and would go to the resort again. The rep was useless, listened but was of no help at all.

Just returned from a week self catering...
"Just returned from a week self catering holiday at El Greco apartments. We booked this holiday as a late deal 2 weeks prior to departure date, we felt a little apprehensive as previos holidays have been alot more exclusive (St Lucia, Maldives) However, i can honestly say hand on heart i was pleasantly surprised by El Greco apartments. It is located 10meters from the beach, good sized rooms with all the facilities you'll need if your self catering, Pool was big, plenty of sun loungers and parasols. Plenty of bars and restaurants located around the apartments, it was definately the best location wise. Weather was amazing 33-38 degrees all week, not one drop of rain. All staff are friendly and can speak English, lots of trips to do if you fancy getting out and about. VIP SUPERCAT Cruise was fantastic, not really for kids.(However, no champagne reception as advertised by rep!! little disappointing) Great holiday would definately consider returning to Puerto Rico in the future."

I have just returned back from the El Gr...
"I have just returned back from the El Greco and it was AMAZING! Myself and my partner took our 2 year old and the El Greco has got to be the best situated in Puerto Rico (LOADS of hills ~not good with a buggy!) as its situated on the road straight across from the beach. Agree with the comment from Mr Baker the ANfi timeshare people are a NIGHTMARE! mithering you, but they got the message after a couple of days.
Only thing i would say is avoid the local restaraunts on a regular basis if you eat out alot at night, that are close to El Greco, ~fabulous food but very expensive. We only found out that the town centre was literally a 10 minute walk away at begining of our 2nd week and what a difference in food prices (70+ Euros near El Greco and 26Euros in town for 2 adults, a child and a bottle of wine! ~ and v v nice food ~ would recommend CAFE CENTRAL, english owned and they do the most amazing Lasagne)
El Greco is 11/10 for cleanliness, they really do scrub your room and do all your washing up! ! Fresh towels and sheets everyday. The pool is beautiful and has a shallow part about 6 inch deep all the way round for the little ones.
Overall the best accomodation I have stayed at, and having stayed at 5* resorts around the world i would highly recommend the El Greco."

Just returned from holiday and can hones...
"Just returned from holiday and can honestly say what a great place. Perfectly situated in the lovely puerto rico harbour, 10 metres from the beach, and lots to do. Plenty of bars and restaraunts are near-by, most of them very reasonably priced, serving great food, with even better service!! The apartments themselves were kept meticulously clean, with the maid even doing the washing up!! Getting out and about on the island I would reccommend hiring a car as the excursions offered by first choice were very pricey. We saved a lot by cutting out the middle man, and had more fun to boot. The only gripe I would have are the P.R's in the main shopping area. Very pushy. And avoid the Anfi reps like the plague, unless you like very expensive timeshares! Overall though, I would thoroughly reccommend the El Greco for location and value. 9/10. "

"Weâve been going to the El Greco apts for 2 years now. Excellent location couldn't be any closer to the beach. Brilliant night life and shops close by.
My daughters been going to the Vistamar apts now for 2 years (which is next door to the el Greco) and she thinks the same . However there's not a lot of things for young children to do apart from in the main shopping centre e.g. trampolines, golf, go carts, tennis. "

"I total loved the apartments, there was a restaurant joined to the hotel and the food was fantastic, the cleaners were brilliant and everything about it was good! quiet at night, but 5 minute walk up the road there's a Euro centre with restaurants, shops, bars and clubs! Shops just next door to the hotel. But the only thing that let it down was First Choice, they didn't tell us anything, were never around and always after your money, big let down!!! "

"This was the third time we had stayed at this resort, the hotel is really clean and the staff very friendly, only down side is that you have to pay 100 Euros deposit on check in which we werenât aware of the 1st time we stayed.
However this wasnât a problem the 2nd and 3rd time but it was for others who were checking in. The restaurant onsite is more pricey then the places along the beach front, however it is worth it, the food is great and crepes are cooked in front of you which is brill to watch.
The staff are fantastic. Prices vary so look for the best deal, get to the pool early to get the best spot and enjoy the lazy atmosphere."

"The best thing about these apartments had to be the location, I think they were truly the best in Puerto Rico. Our apartment, alike most others faced the beach, which was lovely. The only complaint I have is that the apartments on the right hand side of the building (alike ours) backed onto what seemed to be some kind of workshop, which may bother some, but did not affect us too much. You should also know that repairs on the hotel's grill area are being carried out and there are a few workmen around during late afternoons, but if alike us you are not interested in hanging around the hotel too much during the day, then this would not bother you.
Beneath the hotel are the El Molinio restaurant and the La Cantina bar. I cannot comment on the restaurant as I did not eat there, but it looked busy every night. La Cantina served tapas which were delicious, loved the spicy meatballs and canarian potatoes with mojo sauce! We drank at the bar most evenings as we loved the staff and the strawberry daiquirs, Marcello and the guy behind the bar (sorry I could never pronounce his name) were absolutely lovely, I wanted to bring them both back home!
The rooms were very spacious and offered most things that you would need, I took a travel iron with me, but found that there was already one in the room, the only thing that women may need is a hairdryer. Both pool areas were nice, the small one is apparently reserved for those in the bungalows but we did not realise this until the last couple of days when we read the first choice folder at the reception area. The bigger pool has a bar which served lovely food, and had a happy hour from 5-6, woo hoo!
In Puerto Rico itself I felt very safe, I have been to a few resorts where pick-pockets etc have been rife, but I was told the crime rate on the island is very low. Many families were around and many pubs had quizzes etc which catered for adults and children. I went to the Europa centre at the top of the hill once and found it to be a bit of a waste of time, it was basically a smaller version of the puerto rico centre at the bottom which is only a 5-10 min walk from the hotel. We went to the main centre a few times but to be honest those type of places arent really our scene, so we frequented the bars around the hotel most often. Beware of some of the sunglass sellers at the centre, this isnt the only thing they sell, if you catch my drift!
The places I recommend to eat are:
-The Little Indian - which I must say was the best indian food i have had (Passarella centre (turn right as you walk out of the hotel)
-The Chinese (next to the indian) was ok
-Cafe Sol - at the end of the Passarella centre, good for homemade tasting food
-Waikiki bar - lovely spanish omlette and cooked breakfast
The place I WOULD NOT recommend to eat is:
-The Red Rose - sloppy!
We found that in Puerto Rico the prices of alcoholic drinks could be pricey, the cheapest we found was the harbour lights, where the prices were consistently low, although they did close early (around 1am) quite often.
The highlights of our holiday were:
- Sioux City (the set for fist full of dollars film) - around 50 euros each, but well worth it with a BBQ, free bar, country & western music, show, and free time to walk around the set, both adults and kids seemed to love it - a chance to be a cowboy or gal!
-The Big Red - A really fast jet boat, if your a watersport lover, this is a must, although the guy says he talkes you for 25 min, were convinced it wasnt that long!
-Puerto de Mogan - we caught the ferry there & back for 10 euros on market day (friday), it was stunning, although beware of the prices on the stalls, if your not a good haggler, you'll need to learn!
-Comedy show - we went to the club Tango near the main centre to see this, but she seemed to do her rounds in a few bars, she was hilarious, but a note to you men, dont move from your seats!
-Crazy golf - a couple of courses dotted around
Things we would NOT recommend is:
-Hiring your own speedboat from the beach, its tiny, and luckily nothing happened to us, but you would be liable for any damages, even though she doesn't inform you of this at the time.
-Taking the bus - the drivers are crazy! We went to Playa del Ingles, and weren't that impressed with the place in all honesty.
-Walking under the underpass, there seemed to be a few scams going on under there, it is easily avoided as you can walk above it.
All in all a great holiday, I have just highlighted a few things so that yours is even better, it is commercialised, and much of the food is the same wherever you go, but if you dont mind this you will have a fantastic time just like we did, oh and say hello to Marcello and his crew!"
