excellent, cant wait to go back
"These apartments are fantastic,
rooms - nice size, decorated lovely, maid service 5 days a week.
reception - very helpful
Staff - very polite and nothing is too much trouble.
daytime activites - "dave" the entertainer does killer pool everyday and also water polo (women are undefeated for 9 months). music played around pool area is nice.
Evening entertainment - this is great the blues brothers tribute was the best. Dave does kids party dances and really knows how to look after them.
This hotel is at the top of the hill but a taxi down is only 2.30 euros which i think is a bargain.
Evening nightspots in puerto rico have to be Snoopy's disco pub and the garage club these were our favs.
Met some lovely people and had the holiday of a life time and would go back tommorrow if we could.
Hope to go back next year."

not as good as reviews
"my wife and i just got back the weather was glorious the cala dor was clean although the pool was very smallthe room was clean but no tv or radio like all the canaries you get hassle off timeshare and restaurants when you go out i found the bar/shopping area tacky with no upmarket restaurants, its all catered for us brits if you like thatsort of thing. a must to do is a boatrip on the superecat and a visit to the waterpark in maspalomas which is much bigger get out of the hotel and have a good look around as it gets a bit boring we wont be going back to puerto rico more suited if your young maspalomas seems to be a bit more upmarket"

"Just got back from the Cala D'or in Gran Canaria. Excellent place to be. Entertainment throughout the day is excellent from "young Dave!". Good things on at night too. Womens water polo team undefeated in 9 months! So girls, get yourselves over there to retain our title! Would reccomend to anyone, young or old!"

"We returned from these apartments yesterday morning and can honestly say they were fantastic. With maid service 5 times a week they were very clean and we didn't come across a nasty insect once!!!! The reception staff are really welcoming and friendly and always seem keen to help. The bar was great for serving light bites during the day. The entertainment seemed fab but being only 24 we tended to be down the centre every night - Tiffany's Welsh Bar really is the place to go (whether your Welsh or not), be warned though don't yawn - unless you really like the taste of vodka!!!!! The centre is packed with bars and restaurants and although there is loads of steps (186 at last count) it is really worth the walk (plus a taxi is only 2 euro)(can really recomment Amigo's Steak House - ate there every night and never had a bad meal). If you can, visit Sioux City on a Friday night - a fantastic night out, and the water park in Maspalomas although I wouldn't recommend going with your tour operators as the seem to rush you through the day, we caught the bus and it cost us 3.20euros each - bargain! All in all a fantastic holiday and I can't wait to go back to the Cala D'or next year!"

An economic place in front of the sea
"I traveled to La Palma (in Canary Islands, spain) for three days in the beggining of june and it was not easy to find a place to sleep. Almost every option is located in Los Cancajos, a very turistical place in a not very beautiful area. A good option if you want to avoid crowded places and big hotels in Los Cancajos is this one, the Apart-hotel Castillete, located in Santa Cruz de La Palma, the capital of the island. It is an average apart-hotel but it is clean, cheap and the rooms facing to the sea have amazing views. You can cook in your own apartment but, if you want to go out, it is located near good restaurants. Note that you have plenty of space to park outside, in the Maritima avenue.
The address is Maritima Avenue, number 75.

We love the Cala D'Or
"We are guests who meet up with the above mentioned from Bradford. We go to the Cala D'Or every January along with another group of us from Scotland. We have been meeting up with the Bradford lot for 11 years. I would not go anywhere else on the Island. Friends have stayed in other appartments but the standards of them have not been great, and they usually complain that they should have booked the same place so why waste money when you know exactly what you are getting at the Cala D' Or. They also have their sister appts Cala Nova and these are bascially a copy of the Cala D'Or.
The bar staff, maids, reception and management are all excellent or else we would not return year after year.
Keep up the good work see you all next January."

attn sun readers
"Just got back november 04 .all i can say about the cala d'or is that it is a sun readers paradise with lewd entertainment aimed very low and songs about "giving head" amongst others being played while there are children about was pretty disgusting.
on the plus side the rooms where clean and the maid service excellent the guy behind the bar (carlos)? was a good laugh.
If you like doing the congo and the okey kokey and dont mind your kids listening to lewd songs it is the place for you, if you want some peace and quiet on your hols or something with even the smallest touch of class avoid at all costs."

Gun smoke at cala d'or
"The cala d'or was great,
I have just recently returnrd from a weeks holiday with my girlfriend, and we enjoyed it very much, The rooms were clean and well kept, we did come accross 3 big ugly insects during our stay, but nothing a hard slap with a size 12 sandle dosn't take care of... The maids were very good, they will even do your washing up, and put the pots away. The on site pool isn't the biggest i have ever seen but spending the day lounging around it was our ideal day, sitting in the blistering heat joining in with the around the pool activities, including pool, water polo / vollyball and pistal shooting, which i may add i got the highest score anyone has ever got ever..( gun smoke) Because it's quite a small pool area you get to know everyone really quickly it's a very friendly place, The main town is about a 7 minute walk away, however you have to tackle 182 steps to get down to it which. dosn't seem much until your climbing back up them. There are loads of bars and resturants to keep you going and we found most drinks were 2 for 1 so it dosn't take long to get rocking. The people selling watches and roses etc. got quite annoying after a while they wouldn't take no for an answer, I found they left you alone if you politely told them to --- off. The beach is nice and not to far away, Didn't do the boat trips but there were plenty to choose from if thats your thing.
All in all a cracking holiday, and i would go there again. But 1 week wasn't long enough, You do get kicked out of the room s at 10am on your last day which i thought was a crap, as our coach wasn't arriving till 1:30 the following morning.."

great place, hotel and night life just sack James and crazy security guard
"Just returned from the Cala D'or this september. I found the hotel to be great!!!! Dont worry about the stairs i managed to run up them within two mins, it helps work off the beers (well pints of Tropical!!!). James is a complete T~T how the hell he got a job there i dont know. The most excitment he gives is by having a darts compo or playing new kids on the block time after time. Also beware of the large security guard, make a noise in the early hours and you will have him at your door screaming spanish and spitting through the window. I think he needs some sort of anger managment treatment.. other than that had great time drinking and bringing the birds back to the appartment, will be there next year!!!!!"

Fantastic. Cant believe all the bad reviews.
"This hotel is a lovely hotel, friendly staff great apartments and very clean. When we spent 2 weeks each year at Cala D'or we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go there again and again. Okay fair enough there were cockroaches but seriously if your gonna be that sad and complain about that then don't bother going abroad at all. Obviously there are going to be cockroaches around the hotel. its just the same as if someone from Gran Canaria came here and there were spiders everywhere. It 100% normal.
Yes there is music playing until early hours of the morning but it a nightclubbing hotspot so your gonna expect that. your all just being really silly when you complain about some so stupid. I will back Cala D'or all the way because i know what it is really like. Its fantastic we had the best holiday we have ever had. Fantastic restaurants, brilliant shops and the beaches well they are beautiful. Please guys don't listen to the bad reviews because truthfully it is fantastic there. I do understand that the entertainer Javi who was there when we stayed has sadly left. He was truly fantastic but I'm sure the new entertainer is a good one. Please guy go to Cala D'or for your holiday you will enjoy it very much."
