"I went to this resort for my 21st birthday and am now going back this year for 2 weeks all inclusive. I am going with my fiance again and we love the staff there. The food was lovely and always had something different to try. The entertainment through the day was good they do pistol shooting, darts, archary ect whihc are all a good laugh. The staff were so helpful when we needed a taxi they called one for us. The resort is very quiet which is perfect for us as we go to just chill out. There is a mini gold course whioch is only about 5 euro to ahve a go on, there is a water park to use for free and plenty of sunbeds if you want one. I cant wait to go back this year . "

Family of 4, all in all good holiday..!
"After returning from this hotel I felt I have to write a review of our personal experience. We are a family of 4, 2 adults 2 children aged 5 and 2. We booked this hotel and stayed here from 2-9th December all inclusive and after only paying £1300 for everything, flights, transfers, parking and an all inclusive stay it was a very cheap holiday for us. We arrived at midday to be told that our room wasn't ready due to the previous guests not checking out on time, we waited for 2 hours for the room and were only offered an alternative after my husband finally had a few abrupt words with the receptionist, not usually our style but we were getting nowhere fast and our girls were beyond bored after 2 hours in warm sunshine wearing English winter clothes...! We got a room on the first floor (118) and it was fine, nothing swish but clean and basic, the bathroom was big enough, with a bath and shower and plenty of space for cosmetics and towels etc. The kitchen was fine, although there wasn't a kettle, cup, spoon or anything which we found quite strange, luckily we had packed our travel kettle. The living area was clean and basic, we tried the tv and couldn't find one English Channel but I suppose we weren't on holiday to sit and watch tv. After settling in we went to explore the hotel and surroundings. Our room looked straight out onto the pool area, and the snack bar which was handy to pop to for coffee, warm milk, toasters etc. the aqua park is filled with sea water and was absolutely freezing cold and really took your breath at first but you did get used to it after a while. The little pool in the water park was perfect for our girls, they loved the little slide and stayed in there until they were blue. The food at the complex is lovely, yes...it does get repetitive but there's always something everyone will like and my youngest is a very fussy eater and she ate loads there. The portions they have set out for the guests are plentiful. We visited the beach attached to the hotel and found it to be a bit naff, the sand was the black sand and our girls were filthy like they had been digging in mud after just a few minutes, so we chose to visit other beaches and we generally would wake up, have breakfast then go off for the day, return for teatime and go to the mini-disco on an evening. We visited Mogan, it's just a few euros in a taxi and is a lovely place with a port. There's a good market at Mogan on a Friday and also a glass bottomed ferry that takes you to puerto rica beach, or Anfi beach for about 12 euros per adult. It was well worth the money, our girls LOVED it. We also visited arguinnegan Market on a Tuesday and this was about 20 euros, it's just the same as Mogan with the same smallholders. Another nice beach is ammadores, this is just past puerto rica and is about £15 euros in a taxi, this beach has a lovely "all you can eat" Chinese restaurant that is to die for, they serve duck, prawn, chicken, beef, and it all tastes just like home Chinese. It was only about 8 euros for an adult and the staff there were polite and nice. We went to the commercial centre at puerto rica for our duty free bits and found it well worthwhile to shop about there because most of the ships sell the same thing but at different prices. We had a McDonald's here one of the days and it was clean and the people serving we're again nice and made you feel welcome. The taxi drivers are all lovely, we never had a problem with any of them, and they tried their best to make you feel welcome, a lot of them didn't speak very much English at all but they all made a fuss of the children and didn't mind their car getting full of sand off the beach. My favourite place we went to through the day was Anfi beach, I think this was about 20 euros in a taxi and its a beach made with Caribbean sand attatched to a timeshare complex, its freeto use but you have to pay 3euros for a sunbed if one was needed.its lovely and refined there, not too commercialised and the sea was perfect for the girls, not too choppy etc. Back to the complex, the evening entertainment was copied night after night but by the end of the week my girls knew the dances and songs off by heart. My husband asked the DJ for a copy of the songs used at the "mini-disco" and he made us one, it has been a godsend since getting home as the girls have it on constantly and it has kept them entertained for hours...! The animation team were good, there was a camp man with big glasses, he was hilarious and really made the evening entertainment for us. He was a natural at entertaining whereas the other members of staff sometimes seemed a bit stiff when on the stage. The bar on an evening was fine, not too busy and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a drink. I do think the lager had been watered down a bit as at the pool bar it was a lot stronger. I know I've blabbed on, but I just want to let people know that this is a nice place to stay for a family holiday, it's not exquisite or posh but it is perfect for a budget holiday. We will go back for sure. All in all we paid £1300 for the holiday and spent £400 whilst there in taxis, eating out, perfume, cigs and a few bikinis etc. "

Avoid this hotel at all costs, worst hotel in Playa Taurito
"We have stayed at a number of the hotels in Playa Taurito as the area is great. However this is a case of a hotel in decline, shabby, tiny rooms, staff that don't provide a good service. Not suprising though when all they do is listen to complaints from guest all day. We couldn't even hire a hair dryer. On that note take plenty of cash even though the hotel is 'all inclusive' towels, hair dryers, safe keys, coat hangers, extra room keys all require a 'cash' deposite plus hire fee. The hotel receptionist went mental when I tried to change beach towels before 10am! Please don't expect decent entertainment either it was really aweful and the pool area is in a poor state of maintenance, missing tiles and not enough seating around the pool bar. Luckily the Gran Canarie weather was fantastic and saved us from spending too much time in this hole. Three star, there 'aving a laugh!! "

Itâs not just any old trailer park itâs the Paradise Lago Taurito trailer park â 3 weeks in hell
"We had the misfortune to have been stuck in one of the worst hotel resorts ever for three weeks. If you are thinking of coming here you will be sorely disappointed, dare I say gutted and left with a feeling you have been violated and not in a nice way. The hotel is situated in a lovely bay with several other all- inclusiveâs around it including, the Lago Tauritoâs 5 star sister hotel (this is open to debate), we only choose this hotel as our friends were on a limited budget, if you can afford it donât darken the doors of this place, run and donât look back. The place is one step away from a trailer park; it says four stars, more like four skull and cross bones. Donât be sucked in by the all-Inclusive blurb you read it is really not worth the money, we have spent more on food and drink outside the hotel then the cost of the entire holiday. The food is the worst, the meat looks like itâs been ripped from the jaws of a rabid dog, there is more nutritional value in the dust you find in the not so clean rooms, the chefs have all be trained to cook on the same budget as HM Prison Service, and the food looks like it should only be served to prisoners (well I felt like a prisoner staying here). I think the chef has an addiction to food colouring and gelatine as everything had the consistency of jelly, I have seen fresher food and hotter food in Somalia, everything was cold, not even lukewarm just cold. The bars server watered down drinks and wine will strip paint of the walls. No point in complaining as the hotel management really donât give a dam or really care, they have a constant flow of duped holidayâs markers willing to part with their hard earned cash to stay in this pit and there are those who chose to drink from 10am in the morning until the free bars close, this is when the fun begins, have 100âs of drunken sun brunt yobs shouting at 11 PM, the thing is the walls are made of paper mache so you can not only here your neighbours you can hear the whole floor above and below taking at the top of their voices, who all seem to empting their bladders at once. The pool water is so dirty itâs a 50/50 mix of kids pee and chlorine, who run a muck whilst their parents get drunk at the bar!!! We didnât spend much time by the pool as we went scuba diving so we only had to endure the pool experience once, but I did try a hamburger from the pool bar which had the same consistency as Pedigree Chum. The kids are looked after by the animation team, some of them are creepy and look like they should be on some kind of register and they produce the eveningâs very shoddy entertainment which would drive any sane person to drink the hooch come ether served behind the bar as calling it alcohol, is an insult. Now the rooms, well firstly you practically have to rent the contents of the room when you check in from the towels to the safe to the remote for the TV, they are cleaned 5 times a week, well hosed down with bleach, the bed may as well been a straw mattress, the housekeepers are nice and will give you lots of extra pillows (well pillow type substitute) a word of warning do not rent a beach towel, it will grate your sun blushed skin off !!! You do get to use the spa at the Paradise Valle the â5â star sister hotel of this one, itâs called the Karbi spa or as we like to call it the Krappy Spa, we booked treatments and when we arrived we were told if we wanted to use the spa facilities we would have to pay extra!!!, then we were abused by a surly German receptionist when I asked from my money back, who in the end just threw it at me. Go to the Gloria Palace Spa in Amadores, we paid 250 Euroâs for 4 treatments each and the whole day at the spa it was amazing and dam good value. The highs are really lovely staff on reception (Yasmine, who hails from Wales, goes out of her way to try and keep the disappointed guests happy) and the waitresses who frankly how they work in this environment is beyond comprehension, they deserve a medal. So if you have a spare £2,000, donât spend it here!!! You have been warned. "

lago taurito experience!!!!!
"we arrived very late on saturday evening, on a coach with no rep and a coach driver who could not speak english! the hotel reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We had two rooms on the 2nd floor, massive balcony just above the terrace which was very nice, the rooms were clean although very dated and a bit shabby in places, the maid service was not good as they did not come in everyday. You have to pay for the safes in your room very expensive 21 euros for a week. The food was typical of foreign hotels, they try to cater for all tastes which they did although after three days a cooked breakfast did not seem very appealing anymore, chips every lunch and evening, plenty of food nevertheless, always hot and sometimes quite odd - brussel sprouts in cheese sauce?? If you are a family of more than 4 persons DONOT PUSH TWO TABLES TOGETHER, you will get told off and made to feel like a naughty school child!!!! the waterpark was brilliant apart from salt water, yuk!!!! and if your child wears armbands they cannot use the big slides, we were not aware of this also the waterpark is open to the paying public, we were not aware of this either. The evening entertainment was .... very amateur but very funny, very light entertainment. Weather amazing 28 - 30 everyday. The firstchoice rep 'Becci' was good and rushed off her feet managing two hotels. Pool area very busy as the pool is quite small for the size of the hotel, staff friendly (most of them), all in all not too bad a hotel but would not rush to return. I paid four thousand pounds for 3 adults and three children and did expect a bit more, if i am honest. "

brilliant hotel make your own judgementsxx
"hi just got back today from a lovely stay at this hotel was a bit upset by some of the reviews on here but now i know not to beleive most of what is writen. the hotel was brilliant for the money you pay for it well worth it. we were picked up by a mini bus first to be dropped off which was great and arrived at 2pm in time for dinner. greeted by friendly helpful staff on reception and the cleaners greeted us too.every thing was made easy and explained well. rooms were smashing sea view and pool view. large balconey plenty of room for a family of four in a family room. setting was peaceful and beautiful really relaxing. yes there was alot of kids but it is a family hotel what more can i say. the pool bar was open 10-6pm bar staff were lovely they did get frustrated as i would with some arrogant people but i couldnt blame them. no long wait for meals or drinks few minutes unlike england. the food was good for a 3 star hotel something for everyone. there was one bar outside got busy as thats where the entertainment was but you could still get served within minutes. the animation team was fantastic trying to get everyone involved. the night time entertainment was mini disco for kids which my baby loved especially brucie the tiger. the shows were done by the animation team corny, funny, laughable, enjoyable and mesmerising would cover all of them. one night there was one theme burn the stage fire act really well produced they worked their socks off. the weather was fantastic too well over 35c loads of sunbeds yes sometimes towels on them but hey we were up for breakfast anyway at 8am. from start to finish we were made to feel very welcome and will definately be going back as soon as i can. please dont be put off by other peoples crude unfair remarks. if you have booked this hotel then have a great time make your own mind up and have a relaxing time like we had. thanksx"

"We arrived at the hotel about 1 or 2 in the morning with a friendly welcome, the rooms were nice, but the beds were a little uncomfy but you got used to it. Food The food was good the first week, then it just got boring the second week, but it was reasonable. Staff The staff were realy kind, Lucy and Mike were realy good to everyone, the only bad thing was some of the barmen at night were quite grumpy. Entertainment The entertainment was ok ive seen worse and better, the bar at night was very busy as there is only 2 or 3 barmen on the bar, there is 2 barmen that are very nice one is called luis and there is another young man who is kind aswell Daytime Activities The daytime activites entertained you, there is lots to do for kids like darts ping pong water polo and lots more and also the adults, shooting, archery, waterpolo and bowls this hotel was very good and i am defiantly coming back "

Avoid at ALL Cost...!
"My wife and I have only yesterday returned from a week all inclusive at this hotel. We both found it to be very disapointing on most counts. We were firstly told by the operator that this was a 4 star hotel, its not, its a 3 star and even this rating is questionable! The hotel 'restaurant' is more like a large factory canteen and its guests are treated more like cattle, hearded in and out as quickly as possible. The food although plentyful was not varied and often the lunch left overs were re heated and put back out for evening dinner. As if this wasn't bad enough, the staff were so keen to heard you through as quickly as possible, our cutlery and plates were being cleared away just as the last spoonful entered your mouth! On more than one occasion as my wife and I were serving ourselves at the buffet for our sweet course, on returning to our table to find that our drinks and our napkins etc had been cleared off the tables...We were never made to feel relaxed and welcomed during any of our meal times, in fact it made us feel 'in the way'...not a pleasurable dining experience! A shame that the hotel staff were not so keen to clear the poolside tables so eagerly, dirty plates and cups were left for 2 days and thus infested with ants. The hotel itself is generally tired looking and in need of an over-haul. The beds were uncomfortable with springs sticking through the mattresses and the bedding was of very poor quality. Its also the only time that i've ever been expected to pay a deposit for a TV remote control unit for our room. The one and only swimming pool is very small and falls way short to facilitate to the size of the hotel and therefore was often over crowded, most of the time with hundreds of screaming children. The hotel was often noisey, morning noon and night....we were woken up on numerous occasions at 2 or 3am with screaming children running up and down the corridors and slamming doors, this is NOT a place to go to relax and chill out quitely. Although the Taurito cove itself is advertised as a relaxing area with not much to do but chill out...the Lago Taurtio is NOT the hotel to provide it!! Do yourself a huge favour, avoid this hotel at all cost and book into the Hotel Princess opposite, its so much nicer!! "

best holiday ever sunny as hell !
"i have been here 3 times and have already booked to go back it is the best holiday i have ever been to and i think everyone should experience the brilliance of it. "My friend and I booked this hotel for a warm, sunny and quiet relaxing holiday. That is exactly what we got! The complex is great, very clean and friendly people. The hotel was very clean and also spacious room with the biggest balcony I have ever had. It came with a 'partial sea-view' but this was still spectacular. The moonlight shining on the sea in the evening was breathtaking. The food was plentiful, delicious and a good variety. The bay is surrounded by rocky hills and the hotels are built into the slope so everyone should get a good seaview. A frequent(and cheap) bus service takes you to either Porto Mogan to the north. Very pretty, or as far south around the coast road. We went to Puerto Rico for some shopping and caught the glass bottom ferry back. I managed to leave my keys in the safe and didn't realise this until I was on the plane back home, but helpful staff posted them on to me. Would definitely recommend this holiday and will return to Lago Taurito."

"We were moved here, from a fantastic 5 star hotel on the island, due to the ash cloud in April 2010. What a great difference my husband and I experienced ! 3 stars is a very generous rating for this hotel ! The rooms are dated, dreadful bathroom, basic and the beds are very uncomfortable. The rooms could certainly do with a lick of paint. The all inclusive meals were dreadful. Very little choice, all greasy food and the drinks are diluted. We both had stomach bugs as a result of the food. The pools are OK, and great for young families, but if you are given a room on the same floor of the swimming pool then you will have little privacy. There is little to do in the resort about from swim, play crazy golf and bowl. The evening entertainment is OK, but it is loud, childish and tacky. Can become very boring ! The shops in the complex over charge, and the hotel staff are very unhelpful. This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in, and would not recommend it at all."
