"Me and my partner went to this hotel on half board for a week.
We arrived there late at night and the staff were very friendly too us. the next day we got up for breakfast i have neve tasted anything so AWFUL in all my life. The food was horrible!
Later on we went down for dinner and it was like being in hell!! There were about a million Germans and they were so rude!! They had took every table at lunch time and we had no where to sit. After this experience we gave up on breakfast and ate out mostly.
In the morning if you wanted a sunbed you had better luck of winning million pounds! All the germans place their towels on the sunbed and reserve them even though there is a sign to say don't reserve sunbeds.
i had no complaints with our room and the cleaners did a super job. It was just the fact that Germans dominated the hotel and their mannors were terrible! Being there through the Euro world cup with spain and german in the final was abit crazy aswel, as when we went down for meal time on our last night the germans were all chanting, singing and shouting while we were trying to eat.
on our last day we had to leave our room at 12pm but i flight wasn't till 1:25am and didn't have anywhere to go or relax and wasn't allowd to eat in the hotel. ended up falling asleep in the lobby and it was awful.
One thing i do give to thomas cook was our rep called Abbie, she was lovely to us both and was always there if you needed her or if you just fancied a chat.
Next time we go away we would being staying in self catering. "

"Have just returned from a holiday in the buenaventura quite possibly one of the worst i have had. I previously stayed here in 2006 had a great time which was what encouraged me to book again however it was not the case this time, firstly the food was nothing spectacular way better than that at the riu waikiki which i stayed in in january but still not great, breakfast was ok cereal, ham etc, croissants, toast, eggs, sausage, beans, bacon which may i add made my partner extremely ill after he ate. The evening meal was beyond a joke, the first sitting was at 6.30pm and one night myself and my partner where in the british bar next door to the dining room around 5.30pm when there were around 50 german guests queing up all ready an hour before it actually opened!!!, if you managed to get a table there wasnt a lot of choice pasta, salad, pizza, chips, pork, fish, kebabs, not a lot of options for vegeterians!!!
I couldnt fault our room it was lovely, and had a sea view as requested, the only thing that spoilt it was that we were placed in between a huge amount of german teenagers on some kind of 18-30s holiday, i wont go on as you can imagine what it was like but all i will say is i am 23 so it as not as if i wanted a quiet, relaxing time but what we experienced and had to listen to was absoloutly disgusting.
I have never witnessed so many rude, disrespectful people in my life, on one occasion i actually had to step in when a german man who was old enough to know better nearly had a young english girl who couldnt have been more that 12 in tears with the way he reacted to her accidently bumping in to him even though she apologized.
This was my 7th or 8th visit to gran canaria but this holiday has deffinatly put me off going back."

"We have just returned from Ifa Hotel in Playa des ingles and i can report this hotel was awful. I am so glad to be home. The food was absolutely awful, tasted like eating cardboard. I didnt eat a thing for whole week. Honestly the food was terrible. The entertainment was terrible. full of rude no mannors germans!! full of germans. my boyfriend and i were counting the days until we came home. We even enquired about staying somewhere else where the music didnt go on all night long! we got no sleep at all. We also looked at getting a flight to come home asap. I DO NOT reccomend this hotel at all.
No one could speak a word of english, they shut us out of our room on the last day at 12pm and we were standing in our swim suits as nobody pre warned us we would be thrown out 15 hours before our flight.!
Awful place. "

"I stayed in this hotel with 5 of my friends and thought it was amazing! The room was nice with a lovely balcony. The breakfast and evening meals offered so much choice there was enough to suit all tastes (one of my friends was a vegetarian and had a full plate every night). The pools were wonderful and one even gave music and some entertainment and games. Night life at the hotel was even better offering shows such as soul singing, dance acts (from entertainers that work in the hotel) and a live snake show. There was even a night club below the ground floor if you didn't want to go far! People at the hotel were lovely. They always spoke and made you feel very welcome. I would definately come back here, possibly knowing a little bit more Spanish and German :D"

"I stayed in this hotel with my father last wk and all i can say is WOW!
It should be a 4* not 3*. This hotel has amazing faclilties and is in a prime location.
Our twin room was beautiful and was spotless and spacious. Bathroom was amazing and the choice on the breakfast and evening meal was very good and the food lovely.
We unfortunetly only stayed 1 night in this hotel and then got moved to a different one by tour operater(long story) but i just wish we could of stayed the week.
The entertainment the night we stayed was a tribute to 'il divino' and they were fab.
I would reccomend this hotel to anyone and any age group. There is a night club situated next door and plenty of bars etc. "

"the resort in general was lovely and i would go back again however buenna ventura hotel was dispicable, the hotel did not accomodate for the younger generation and we were treat very unfairly resulting in the hotel moving our room during the holiday which was extreamly inconvenient. the hotel is more for the older german generation which we were not informed about before our holiday. the rooms however were very clean and the maids friendly. the food was satisfactory as it was the same all week which became rather tedious. our thomas cook holiday rep was extreamly unhelpful he was never present at the hotel all throughout our stay. our party needed the representative and he was no where to be seen. the only time we saw him was in the airport where he stormed past us without aknowlaging us which i found rather rude and obnoxious! this did not ruin our stay in gran canaria it merly made part of our holiday hard to deal with"

"Like some of the other people who have left comment, when we had booked our holiday and then read the reviews we were a little apprehensive as to what awaited us.
Thankfully we can report that this was a lovely hotel. It offers more than its 3 star rating.
We are just home from a relaxing week in the Buenaventura and we have only praise for the staff, the cleanliness, the high standard of food and the general facilities of the hotel.

"My partner and I have just returned from a holiday at the Buenaventura and had a great time.

The rooms were spacious and modern, with a powerful shower. We even got a double bed. They were kept very clean by the maids, who attended every day, and changed the towels every day.

The food was good with a variety of different choices.

The five bars within the hotel were great, if you couldn't be bothered to go into town.

The hotel is very central, with the beach and bars a short walk away.

We will be returning next year, probably in January as the weather was nice, but not too hot."

"Hotel Buenaventura is one hell of a good hotel. It is such of an amazing hotel there is so much to do. Like sports facilities: two swimming pools, one to relax and one to have some fun with the entertainments team.

There is a lovely restaurant to go and eat. An English bar, a club bar where there are shows and karaoke; there is also a night club at the bottom of the hotel. There are about 4 gift shops and an arcade and every day there are activities that the entertainments team run.

To me hotel Buenaventura is the best hotel in the world!
