"As far as the accomodation is concerned- very good, nice relaxing appartments (seperate bedroom and had a kitchen even though its all inclusive) which is always nice if you fancy doing your own thing- we made the most of the all inclusive however the kitchen was very well equiped should you wish to make your own meals / half board etc. We requested a high-floor room, which im glad we did, our patio door that lead onto the balcony did not lock and could easily be opened from the outside, this didnt matter as we made use of the safety deposit box (ten euros per week plus a 10 euro deposit) and stored everything of any value in there, and due to the lay out of the block, it would have been very difficult to climb onto the balcony anyway. This did seem like a one off as we spoke to other guests all of whom said their doors locked fine- didnt persue this with reception as it proved insignificant, however, the staff were brilliant and im sure this would have been sorted straight way. Pool was very nice with some relaxing spots away from the kids if you wanted some quiet time, and the views from the hotel were great- our room overlooked the pool and could also see the beach and sea from the balcony. Pueto Rico town: I wouldnt reccomend walking Pueto Rico town centre, its a long way especially in the sun, its very hilly and not a pleasurable experiance! much easier to get a taxi, which from the hotel costs about £4.50. Pueto rico town itself is in my opinion very very poor, very few shops, a poor selection, and unless you fancy aged indian men attempting to drag you into their shops to see their video cameras, there's really not much to see! FOOD: ALL inclusive seletion... not really sure how to sum the food up... 2 nights a week they do a BBQ which is absolutely brillaint, a great selection and good sized steaks etc... The other nights.. average... there is a reasonable selection of food, I think the main issue is that unless you get a dish just as its being put out, it goes cold very quickly and the heated surface jst isnt hot enough. Also you will find you're sick of eating the same kind of thing over and over, similar of most all incusives though really. The salad bar is always good, everything you can think of and wish for on there, and the deserts are ok too, I think with a little bit of work on the main dishes and the hotel could easily boost its star rating!! ENERTAINMENT: Leo the hotel entertainer is very good, the day time activities are very low budget and would generally include pool touraments, or water polo. There is a quiz everyday about 2pm which is always fun to take part in. Evening entertainment overall is brillaint- most nights start with bingo- 1euro a ticket, with the pot being fully dished out to the winner... Most nights have an act or show from outside the hotel- this includes an Abba tribute, Lionel richie tribute, dancers, gymnasts other singers, fire eaters, juglers etc. A very good programme which is ideal for the whole family. LOCATION: If you plan to do alot of excursions and trips + enjoy the beach, there are hotels which are going to be much closer to the action, if however you fancy it a little bit quieter but still within a few euro taxi ride away, then the hotel is fine. the nearest beach is within walking distance- downhill about ten minutes... probably advise a taxi back to the top though as the hotel is on quite a steep hill! THOMAS COOK: Very disappointed overall- normally use Thompson, an now I remember why! 15kg luggage, which for 2 weeks with suncream etc in your bags is jst very unrealistic, -6" leg room on the plane, and the rep conviniently appears at the hotel only when their is food being served, and when she's got a face full of food constantly makes her quite unapproachable. Trips booked through thomas cook... The "combi trip" which consisted of a dolphin watching boat trip, followed by camel ride and finally a jeep safari was brillaint, no complaints at all with that one, the other trip, although good was NOT as advertised. The "luxuary seacat" was a nice day out, but when booking it according to the booklet includes suncrean and towels, so, being unsure, I asked the rep if that was right- "yeah, yep, everything is included" Arriving on the boat- no cream, no towels and when i went to compain to the rep afterwards she denied all knowledge of telling me that and conviniently didnt have a trip booklet to hand! I'm still awaiting a letter back from thomas cook re my complaint! Although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay on a negative side I would say that what we paid was slightly on the high side however, this is probably more so due to the fact we have had some amazing deals to 4/5* all incusive places. I know I've listen a few negatives, however, we very much enjoyed our stay and the hotel and staff were all brillaint and very helpful. Would reccomend to families and couples looking for a quiet break"

beware anfi rep/manager
"great holiday spoilt by high pressure Anfi manager. We were told at the Thomas Cook welcome meeting that this was worth going to see (45 euros off excursions voucher) absolutely no pressure and only lasted as long as we wanted and if we were not interested just to say so and the presentation would be ended.NOT TRUE. After three hours we still hadnt seen an apartment. When I asked how much longer this was going to take the reply was 'we cant say' The manager was brought over to intimidate and bully us when he realised we really were not going to sign on the day he slammed shut his folder and stormed off! Do not go to this unless you can spare a whole day of your holidays."

"This Hotel is on top of a massive hill so if you have trouble getting around i would think again about booking here, saying that there are lifts and the taxis are very reasonable no matter where you want to go , the hotel staff were great all of our stay from cleaning staff to bar staff even the chef greeted everyone and as for the entertainer LEO he made our holiday complete, he was always in great form and came in early just to walk around the pool and speak to all and i mean all of the people on holiday, a real professional, food was a little mixed though, breakfast i thought was great , cereal or a full english was the order of the day with the usual fruit, toast and juices, lunch was freshly cooked from pizzas, chips, steak rolls, omeletts, burgers or salads and sandwiches all very nice , evening meal was slightly different as i admit i am a very fussy eater, i could not tell what most of the food was as it was not labelled , some chicken and snitzell and occasional goat meat ( which i did try, and liked very much ) but i am not a vegetable eater and there were a lot of vegetable dishes, soup was really nice once you had seasoned it, and lovely bread rolls , only 2 things on all of this holiday that i did not like , No air conditioning, ok we had ceiling fans ( big ones ) in each room but all they do is circulate the already warm air and for my biggest moan , Glasses in the bar or lack of them , drinking out of thin plastic or paper cups i thought was a disgrace not only for me but every person in the hotel had a moan about it , i agree with it around the pool area ( common sense ) but at night when people had to sit outside because of no Air conditioning, ( not around the pool area but outside the bar ) it was not very nice at all, 2 things i think they will have to address if they want people to come back year after year , apart from them gripes a great place for a holiday, weather at the begining of October coldest day 29c hottest 33c, beach great, hotel spotless, bar staff and LEO top notch."

Yesterday I got back from a 2wk holiday ...
"Yesterday I got back from a 2wk holiday at this hotel, overall it was great but there were a couple of things that stopped it being a 10/10. The rooms were lovely, clean, spacious and cleaned most days by the friendly maids who did a thorough job. Unless you are happy to stay awake until mid night everynight, it would be wise to ask for a room away from the pool. The pool, food hall and entertainment are all in the same small space and its constantly noisy. At first we were given a room directly above the pool and asked to move by the 2nd day. The entertainment was too loud in if you were there and could be heard clearly in the nearby apartments even when doors and windows were closed. If you have little ones there is no chance they would be able to sleep until this ends. In the hotel's defence, our travel operator did ask for 'nice room, pool view' which is exactly what we were given. Our outside seating space was the walkway and had no privacy, one of our chairs were taken which made us uneasy about leaving anything out there. We had about 4 random kids walk in to our apartment by mistake (nice to see they were being looked after). The recep staff moved us the next morning with no fuss and the next room was spot on. Private balcony, well kept with a great view of the bay- most of all it was peaceful. The food was OK but I'm pleased to have my first decent dinner in 2 weeks. I thought the fried eng breakfasts were the best i've had abroad. Lunches are pretty much chips with something like hot dog, burger, omlette. The dinner was buffet style, chips, pasta and some meat dishes with salad buffett. Heard people moaning but we got what we paid for. Not a great selection and not much for kids at all! I would go back to the Altamadores and recommend but warn people of the above. Next time I'd go bed and breakfast is possible as its only about 2 euros (cab) to the bay with enough restaurants to chose a different one every night. I'd suggest the 'Pride of London' which was ran by an english couple with great food and had all the major football games showing. Amadores beach was a lovely bay, clear blue sea. The sand was more like shingle but still pretty. Puerto Rico bay is only about 3 euro in a cab has proper golden sand and some more restaurants. All into account- this was a brill holiday and I'd do it all again. "

"Me and my boyfriend stayed here as our first holiday away together and we loved it. The rooms were the best I've stayed in for this price with a microwave which is really rare! The food at the aprmts was fine for lunch and breakfast but we got a 4 euro taxi each night to the Centre de Commecial most nights unless we went to amadores beach for dinner on the beach. The Apartments had great views and sun all day long which I was worried about after staying in Puerto Rico previously. Overall the holiday was exactly what we'd wanted and better than we'd expected."

" i returned from here on Saturday. the place (Amadores) was great lovely beach etc, our room was good nice, clean and roomy. we went All inclusive the breakfast was ok with enough to choose from the snack bar was great and te drink were too but you could only get free drinks until 11pm and food until 9.30pm, which was not great. the evening meal was ok but nothing great and NOT worth the money.:-/:-/:-/ the bar staff never smiled and had no manners.:-( however in saying that some days i think they had personality transplants and were smily but that was hit and miss. in contrast the reception and security staff were great, very friendly and chatty. and they smiled vicki who is that?:-| we had no entertainer for 4 whole days. beining in the middle of no where with no entertainment and a 3 year old child it was extrememly boring and not what you expect when you go all inclusive.:-! we had cover entertainment and the guy from the Altamar hotel was great much more entertaining than what we witnessed from Vicki. it said there was a kids disco that only took place once. the place (Amadores) was great and so was the hotel just not the people (entertainment and bar staff). i would not recommend this hotel "

"We had a great holiday 1week in this lovely aparthotel. Spotless, spacious rooms with ceiling fans which kept us cool throughout. All Inc was fabulous as time for b/fast was between 8am & 10.30am which lets you lie in a bit longer if you wish. Lunch & drinks menu fab from 11am till 11pm. Evening meal from 6pm till 9.30pm was buffet style & was good. Overall this was a very quiet hotel suitable for couples, families or single people. Entertainments for adults two/three evenings per week, as rest of week kids time & karaoke which I must say the lovely VIKKI does a great job, but into the town of puerto rico, you can walk to or get a taxi cheap there is very lively nightlife. Check out on the day of depaerture is 12 noon but on that morning you can ask at reception to keep the room on if its not already booked out & costs only 20 euro in total to keep the room till 6pm in the everning & there is also a courtesy room for your luggage & showers prior to your transfer time if its later. Very warm at this time of the year & the only negative I have is that there were not enough sun parasols by the poolside. I could not get a parasol on the terrace which made it unbearable due to the very hot weather & so headed down the Amadores Beach a few days which is very beautiful and is a must to visit as the water is perfect & refreshing. All in all the parasols were the only negative aspect of this aparthotel & I would recomment it for all. "

"What an absolute Haven!!! The Views, the room, the climate etc etc was all pretty much perfect. The rooms were immaculately turned out and cleaned on a daily basis by friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel was quiet but this was not a downfall as sun beds were always available and the atmosphere was always relaxed. The Hotel is situated at the top of a rather steep hill so if you are not a huge fan of walking we would advise to hire a car as there are parking facilities & the cost isn't much greater than paying for taxis all week & your not restricted to the resort. The staff were very friendly and a joy to deal with. The highlight of our day was Bingo with Vicky before getting ready for the evening, considering me & my partner are only 20 & 22 it may appear sad but they had the ability to make everything fun & enjoyable. Wonderful Holiday would love to go back next year. "
