Could try harder !
"This looks such a great small complex, and it could be, if only the mgt would go the extra mile. On the plus side : the pools are great, the grounds well kept and its in a good location so long as you don't want a beach holiday. On the down side : the rooms, linen, towels and equipment are all too shabby and past their use by date. There are quite a few cockroaches in the apts, especially at night-ugh! The reception staff are hopeless at sorting problems (it always seems to be the guests fault) so don't bother and the bar staff are shall we say abrupt. The Spaniards rent rooms at the weekend but over-occupy them so it gets very busy and the mgt ban ANY type of ball or inflatable in the pool ALL WEEKEND(so if you've got kids like we have be prepared to occupy them!).One English father refused to stop playing with a beach ball with his daughter so the mgt got the police in to have words-talk about overkill. If you're going with First Choice forget the welcome meeting(there's not even a welcome soft drink) its just a sales pitch for trips with no local knowledge and don't expect the rep to sort out any problems apparently she just feels like 'the person in the middle'. Sorry, did I miss something, I thought that WAS a reps job.
To summarise, the place could get 8/10 with a slight makeover and change in attitude but as it is it's a bit like Butlins abroad so 4/10."

"i stayed in the green golf apartments in jul/aug 2005 with 8 friends we had 3 apartments between us and loved it!!!!
the pool or should i say pools as there are 2 were beautiful they were cleaned regularly, so we were all pleased with the standard of hygiene around the accomodation!
the apartments were also pleasing, they were in a v. nice peaceful location, obviously we had the odd few cockroaches but how can they be fully avoided?
i agree that the accomadation could be freshened up and modernised a little but were definately above satisfactory! i spent 2 weeks there and it was v. nice.
the man in reception is lovely and although did not speak much english was very friendly and helpful.
and the actual location of the resort was perfect in terms of quietness and being able to relax peacefully but it was only a cheap 5 minute taxi drive into the centre of playa de ingles which was ideal!!!
i have no complaint about my holiday in maspalomas in fact it was my best holiday yet, i would definately return to green golf as my stay wa excellent thankyou!!! x"

"We stayed here two years ago in September. We arrived at 3am and had to bang on the reception door as there was no one there to greet us after 30 minutes we finally got to our room which was livable but not nice, and there was Cockroches regardless of what people say. The pool was ok but too small for everyone to have a swim. The hotel it self is nasty the staff were not friendly.
The hotel was situated away from everything which meant about five to ten minute walk to the nearest restuarant, and the area is not very clean so by he time to get to the restuarant you feel dirty.
We stayed for a week this was too long for us, three days i think would have been more adequate.
We also went on the Camels in Maspalomas which we do not advise as we had a horrible time. The people take roughly ten Camals around the sand dunes watched by two men (not enough by far). The Camals at the front of the line got scared by a noise which meant they all went off like dominos the men could not control the camals, which left one persons with serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital and i ended up underneath the camal being dragged around while he was running away from the rest. I ended up in hospital when i finally arrived back to England i hadn't broken anything but had servere bruises to my spine and pelvis.
Our advise dont go its far toooo expensive and the people are just rude."

Will return to the Green Golf in the future
"Green Golf apartments were well maintained on the outside, the pool area was cleaned everyday so were the pathways. The outward appearance of the apartments were in good order but the interiors need refurbishing. The kitchen area was adequate but again could have done with some new utensils. The bed linen and the towels needed replacing as some of them were well worn. Overall the accomodation was in an excellent location regarding peace and quiet. The maids were very good and maintained a high standard of cleanliness in our apartment. The on site shop was adequate for our needs. I found the taxi service from the Green Golf was exceptional and the reception staff were brilliant at helping me organise a 21st birthday! I would certainly return to the Green Golf. The staff at the Green Golf worked really hard so that we could have an enjoyable rest.

Green Golf Bungalows/Apartments Gran Canaria..
"Green Golf - Gran Canaria - lovely - no cockroaches, ants or any other bugs. Pool huge -ask for sunny bungalow/apartment when you book in. Ours had no sun all day due to its position (no. 155) - Faro 2 across road is good shopping complex with many bars and restaurants. Best restaurant in area is Le Provencal, French family run business - excellent food - you can walk to Playa de Ingles or get taxi (E3.00) or bus locally- Go to Port Mogan - beautigul on bus. Beautiful port, beach, lovely shops - reminds you of Venice.
We were here for a week beginning 12th Nov.- We give the holiday 8 out of 10 - only because we have already been to Sth. Africa and you cannot beat that. Have a good one.."

"I went with my family to the Green Golf Apartments at the end of August this year, and couldn't find any major faults with it. Although we did have some ants, it is only to be expected in a hot resort such as this, they certainly wern't anything we hadn't already experienced in other holiday resorts, and we found that a tin of ant killer available from the hotel shop worked wonders! Although our rep warned us that cockroaches were a problem all over Gran Canaria, we only saw one in our two week stay. Our apartment was roomy enough for 3, cleaned to a high standard, sheets and towels changed everyday (except Sundays, when the cleaners had a day off), and we found all the staff very friendly and helpful, always offering an "hola!" as we passed.
Although we often ate out at the Faro Centre, 10 minutes walk away, we found the food at the hotel basic but tasty and filling.
The pools were massive and very clean, on the few days in which the sun didn't shine the water was cold, but you qucikly warmed up; the weather isn't the fault of the hotel owners, and to be fair, they do tell you that they only heat the pool in certain months of the year.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Green Golf, and would recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet, relaxed break in the sun."

fantastic - 10 out of 10!!!
"Just got back from Green Golf. The complex was excellent. Really clean, not a cockroach in sight!!! The apartments themselves were small but adequate for the amount of time spent there. Pool's were huge and pool area was spotless. Plenty of sunbeds.
Bar staff were fantastic, always cheerful, helpful and efficient. Reception staff were helpful and courteous.
Ideal for families and couples. The resort of Maspalomas is relatively quiet but it's only approx 3 euros in a taxi to all the nightlife of Playa Del Ingles. Faro 2 shopping centre is only 5 mins walk away and has many shops and restaraunts, bars there are open till 3 on most nites.
Will definately book to go again next year, had a fantastic time, the staff and complex were brilliant!!
10 out of 10"

Green Golf Nightmare
"IN OUR OPINION, DO NOT GO HERE.
My wife and I have just flown back after 48hrs at this hotel. We were dissapointed upon arrival at the look of the reception, but this was just the start !!
After checking into our room, we were joined by half a dozen 2 inch flying cockroaches, obviously attracted to the unclean room. After contacting our holiday rep we were moved to another room which was not quite as filthy, but close. After moving our bags we were greeted by another couple of cockroaches in the new room. To be fair, a friendly gentleman in reception gave us a large can of cockroach spray which did help. However, this did not change the fact that the apartment was unclean, and made us feel constantly itchy.
The reality is a far cry from the glossy photo's seen in holiday brochures and on the web. I feel that we must have gone to a different Green Golf to the other people who have said how nice it is.
We have taken several photos and are now in the process of complaining to our travel company who wanted to charge us money to quit the Green Golf and move elsewhere. Time will tell !!!!!!"

"My partner and I have just returned from a weeks stay at cordial green golf bungalow and, having read the reviews on tripadvisor, were expecting to have a nice stay. Unfortunately only hours after our arrival we were regretting our booking already.
We arrived and found reception less than friendly, we were given keys to our room and a map and no more information. Our bungalow was situated deep in the shade and on entering looked dirty and the smell of cigarettes was over powering. I returned to reception immediately and asked if another room was available. With no apology offered we were told they were full bar one room, we were given the keys and told to try that one. This one at least didn't smell of smoke so we moved to bungalow 197.
The exterior of the hotel (garden and pool) are nicely kept. The pool whilst they said it was heated was quite the opposite. very few people used it the entire time we were there purely because it was so cold.
The bungalows are small, and not very comfortable. The two single beds pushed together, moved a part at night, especially as the mattress' were so uncomfortable you were having to change position so frequently. There is no kettle, you have to pay for the TV but there are only 2 english channels sky news and bbc news so we didn't bother. You have to pay for the safe. Wifi is free simply because you can only get signal in the bar area. In fact when we asked about the wifi the reception gave us a password but then couldn't/wouldn't offer us any help in getting connected thereafter. The maid attended 3 times in the week, and left toilet roll/bin bags and a pair of dirty socks in our living room, we almost slipped over in the bathroom because there was a pool of water left just inside the door. Despite emailing prior to arrival asking for a kettle and a room that faced the sun (we got no reply) our room was constantly in the shade which meant we had to layer up and use 4 blankets at night.
We sampled the food once, and would suggest no one tries it again. it was all fried food, and unfortunately the smell of frying fat was pumped out from the kitchens continuously, a number of other guest were complaining about this in reception as there rooms were getting filled with it. there was no evening entertainment and you have to be silent after 11.
The bungalows are situated 25 minute away from maspalomas, the walk is flat and fairly pretty, but beware of the african ladies who try to corner you to sell you bracelets, they are a little aggressive and shout insults if you don't respond to them. There is a courtesy bus but the times aren't very practical. the local area is not well lit so we didn't feel safe walking around at night (6 o'clock was dark in january).
Reception were again unhelpful when we asked about supermarkets in the area saying to just get a taxi to playa del ingles.. luckily another guest pointed to a local one and a nice spanish one. The worst encounter with reception was when we asked about a late checkout. we were told they were full (the place was about 1/4 full the whole time we were there and we looked on booking.com after taking to them and rooms were still available), so we could not have a late checkout (we wanted to stay until 2 instead of 12) we then asked if they had showering facilities we could use instead they said yes but these only open at 3 for guest who have late flights. I asked if it was possible to use them at 2 and he said no. one thing we did notice was that the german guests (80% of the guests) seemed to be treated with a little more civility than the english guests.
from our experience, in short, we won't be going back and we would never recommend for anyone else to go here. I understand it is a chain of hotels so we will be avoiding them all.
Maspalomas is lovely so stay closer to there."

"Have just returned from two weeks at Cordial Green Golf. We had a brilliant time. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. During our stay there was an equal mix of nationalities which was a pleasant change from the the "Blackpool in the sun" all British hotels. Didn't use any of the children's clubs as it is for under fours so cannot comment. One or two cats around the complex but not intrusive and are friendly little things.
Overall cleanliness of the hotel was very good with a small army of people working constantly to keep it in great condition, including the beautiful flowers and plants all around the complex.
On the negative, the front of the hotel does not do it justice and found parking hire car a nightmare! Also, the universal sun bed reserving problem was evident!
All in all a great complex and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. "
