"My partner and I have just returned from a weeks stay at cordial green golf bungalow and, having read the reviews on tripadvisor, were expecting to have a nice stay. Unfortunately only hours after our arrival we were regretting our booking already. We arrived and found reception less than friendly, we were given keys to our room and a map and no more information. Our bungalow was situated deep in the shade and on entering looked dirty and the smell of cigarettes was over powering. I returned to reception immediately and asked if another room was available. With no apology offered we were told they were full bar one room, we were given the keys and told to try that one. This one at least didn't smell of smoke so we moved to bungalow 197. The exterior of the hotel (garden and pool) are nicely kept. The pool whilst they said it was heated was quite the opposite. very few people used it the entire time we were there purely because it was so cold. The bungalows are small, and not very comfortable. The two single beds pushed together, moved a part at night, especially as the mattress' were so uncomfortable you were having to change position so frequently. There is no kettle, you have to pay for the TV but there are only 2 english channels sky news and bbc news so we didn't bother. You have to pay for the safe. Wifi is free simply because you can only get signal in the bar area. In fact when we asked about the wifi the reception gave us a password but then couldn't/wouldn't offer us any help in getting connected thereafter. The maid attended 3 times in the week, and left toilet roll/bin bags and a pair of dirty socks in our living room, we almost slipped over in the bathroom because there was a pool of water left just inside the door. Despite emailing prior to arrival asking for a kettle and a room that faced the sun (we got no reply) our room was constantly in the shade which meant we had to layer up and use 4 blankets at night. We sampled the food once, and would suggest no one tries it again. it was all fried food, and unfortunately the smell of frying fat was pumped out from the kitchens continuously, a number of other guest were complaining about this in reception as there rooms were getting filled with it. there was no evening entertainment and you have to be silent after 11. The bungalows are situated 25 minute away from maspalomas, the walk is flat and fairly pretty, but beware of the african ladies who try to corner you to sell you bracelets, they are a little aggressive and shout insults if you don't respond to them. There is a courtesy bus but the times aren't very practical. the local area is not well lit so we didn't feel safe walking around at night (6 o'clock was dark in january). Reception were again unhelpful when we asked about supermarkets in the area saying to just get a taxi to playa del ingles.. luckily another guest pointed to a local one and a nice spanish one. The worst encounter with reception was when we asked about a late checkout. we were told they were full (the place was about 1/4 full the whole time we were there and we looked on booking.com after taking to them and rooms were still available), so we could not have a late checkout (we wanted to stay until 2 instead of 12) we then asked if they had showering facilities we could use instead they said yes but these only open at 3 for guest who have late flights. I asked if it was possible to use them at 2 and he said no. one thing we did notice was that the german guests (80% of the guests) seemed to be treated with a little more civility than the english guests. from our experience, in short, we won't be going back and we would never recommend for anyone else to go here. I understand it is a chain of hotels so we will be avoiding them all. Maspalomas is lovely so stay closer to there."

"Have just returned from two weeks at Cordial Green Golf. We had a brilliant time. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. During our stay there was an equal mix of nationalities which was a pleasant change from the the "Blackpool in the sun" all British hotels. Didn't use any of the children's clubs as it is for under fours so cannot comment. One or two cats around the complex but not intrusive and are friendly little things. Overall cleanliness of the hotel was very good with a small army of people working constantly to keep it in great condition, including the beautiful flowers and plants all around the complex. On the negative, the front of the hotel does not do it justice and found parking hire car a nightmare! Also, the universal sun bed reserving problem was evident! All in all a great complex and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. "

Excellent holiday destination
"Just back from a two week holiday. This is our second visit to the Green Golf Apartments and our stay was as good as the first time. I have read reviews here that the staff are rude and the maids visit rarely.I have always found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful and the maid visited every day. We have never had any problems with cockroaches or bugs and can only ever recall seeing one cockroach. The pools and pool areas were cleaned daily, and the maintenance staff were regularly seen tidying the complex. Overall I feel this is an excellent holiday complex and would readily recommend it to everyone. "

A Good Base Camp
"We stayed here in march, weather was very good, and the complex was clean and tidy. Do not recommend food in the restaurant, but bar snax ok and no happy hour for drinks of any kind at the bar.Entertainment wasn't for the brits. Best places to eat Faro 2. 5 mins walk, from the main gate turn left to the end of the road then right past the first aid post left at the island and your there lots of choice, or you can walk down to the light house 30 mins. Best places to visit are, Palmitos Park full day out,Crocodile Park half day, Pto de Morgan take the coast road full day. Sioux City bbq night 7pm till about 12 ish hahaha all drinks and food included, take a camera for the shows. Thanks to Thomas cook tour guide who was a young lady called ashleigh, all the best in your career.Thanx M J Pearson."

"Just back from a holiday staying with our young family at Cordial Green Golf Apartments. We had a great holiday. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout and when I had an injury to my foot, the Management could not do enough to help. The 2 bedroom apartment was very clean and spacious. We dined in the restaurant for 6 evening meals during a 14 night stay and found the food satisfactory. The salads were excellent and priced well (children under 12 years ate for free) which was excellent as we have 3 of them!! It is a great place for a holiday and for families or couples who want a fun but peaceful time. The Hotel puts on a free bus which runs throughout the day to Maspalomas beach and Playa Del Ingles. Hard Rock Cafe in Playa Del Ingles was fantastic!! The children's entertainment could have been better, the girls seemed disinterested in our children. The majority of German guests never smiled which is surprising as they were on holiday!! There were a lot of Spanish families who were there who are very friendly. On the whole I cannot fault this place. I would recommend the Cordial Green Golf to anyone. Look around for deals though-we payed double the price compared with a family we met and became friends with."

"What a wonderful place, read a lot of the other reviews which were insulting the place. We had nothing but a great time at the place. The accommodation is very clean and tidy, the staff very friendly and helpful, ideal for families. Food on site was adequate. The pool was cleaned everyday and it is only a three star hotel so it was above what we expected. Views are lovely. Would def go again "

A very fine complex indeed
"Having stayed at various apartments in Gran Canaria, Green Golf is most definitely the finest I have ever stayed at and would never go anywhere else. An excellent complex, with 24 hour reception and all staff friendy and courteous. The apartments are well designed as is the entire complex which is suitable for singles, couples and families and is within walking distance to the Faro 2 shopping centre and a short walk to the beach although there is a daily free bus to and from the beach. Highly recommended. I have now stayed there about 6 times now and have nothing negative to say about the apartments. Roll on 5th April to my next stay."

First class complex - excellent all-round holiday
"We have just returned (Jan 2010) and we can say this is a complex which is very well maintained and clean to high standards and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there. It actually IS like it looks like in the brochures âvery picturesque and has a really good feel to it. On arrival, our lights were not working and the maintenance man arrived at our apartment quicker than we could return from reception. (We hadn't put the tab on our key-ring in the slot to turn on the electric!) Anytime we needed help or information, reception were able to help. We found them along with the bar and restaurant staff quite friendly and accommodating. There are mainly around 250 1-bedroom apartments called âbungalowsâ which look very pretty set in their own little front gardens containing a small patio and hedged gravel area. Around half overlook the pool, the rest overlook the golf course or back on to the service road. The ones at either end of the complex and near the golf course are the quietest. They have about 16 2-bed apartments which have the second bedroom either above next-doors second bedroom or below it. They are spaciously laid out within the complex, but each one only has a floor area of approx 10 x 20 feet with an upstairs containing a twin bedroom with good-sized wardrobe and bathroom (good hot shower) with a small balcony with a washing line leading off the bedroom. The downstairs has a kitchenette, breakfast bar and sitting area with sideboard, rental TV, bed settee and 1 armchair. When you enter, you enter straight into this area. A slow moving ceiling fan is in the sitting area and bedroom. (No air-con, although some others said theirs had it). It is very small, but functional and the whole complex has been recently renovated so all looks new and bright and colourful. Kitchen equipment consists of 2-ring electric hob,(no microwave),toaster, electric coffee machine, and a non-electric kettle, pots and pans, basic cutlery (but a nice sharp bread knife), bottle opener, a hard to use can opener, no scissors. Maid service is about 6 times a week and fresh towels and replacement loo rolls were provided daily. Bed linen changed 2x week. There is a non-smoking restaurant offering buffet or a la carte, but not fantastic quality but acceptable to some people. (We preferred to eat out). There is a lounge (smoking allowed) offering light entertainment but on the last 3 nights this was cancelled as there was not enough people turning up. There are 3 pools (which are cleaned daily). One very long one which is heated and another one also good size but not heated (16c when we went in January). There is also a smaller one for small children heated. The complex is located halfway between Playa Inglese and Maspalomas (about 30 mins. walk away) and provides a free shuttle bus in both directions (limited day-time service). Taxis are plentiful and very reasonable. Within a 10 min walk towards the canal, there are 2 excellent restaurants â an Italian and a Spanish/German restaurant. There is also a Chinese restaurant, but not so recommendable. Many other good restaurants can be found along the beaches. The site has an adequately stocked mini-market with the basics, (including English newspapers) but for more choice there is Faro2 shopping centre 10-mins walk away with lots of shops and restaurants there. A German bakery sells freshly baked bread and rolls and cakes. One day we got a taxi to Puerto Rico for 20 Euros and the bus back for 2.50 Euros. There are 2 lovely beaches there along with a harbour and sheltered swimming in the sea on rough days. To sum up, there are loads of complexes containing apartments of this type, and I would rate this as one of the best. It has one of the biggest pools I have ever seen on any site we have been on and having had a look at some of the other complexes in the area, we would definitely choose this one again. If you are just looking for somewhere to stay and relax, set inland away from the commercial areas, but within easy reach of shops restaurants and beaches, then this is what Green Golf offers. "

What great accommodation!
"Just got back from the Cordial Green Golf Bungalows - and we are very impressed! Originally booked in to El Palmeral but they chose to decorate so we were put in here! Brilliant decision, lovely modern looking bungalows, great location - right next to the pool. Very clean - cleaners come nearly every day, compact but in a cute way, great bar staff - looked after us very well. Advise to use faro 2 shopping centre for food supplies as shop is expensive on the essentials. Nearly everyone was very friendly that works there (older woman in shop wasnt very sociable!!) Definetely coming back next year. "

Good but bad as well
"I left after a week staying at the Green Golf with mixed feelings. On our arrival I found the reception staff perfectly polite and civil. We had travelled with a 4 month old baby so hoped there wouldn't be a problem with having a travel cot ready, but all was in order and were given a room right near the pool/reception which helped us. The resturant was fairly basic and I have to agree with the last "1/10" review, the staff were rude and abrupt and in fact, we were happy we had booked Self Catering and chose not to eat in the resturant for the rest of the holiday. The evening entertainment is basic but friendly enough. However, there is a large German presence in the complex, which is fine, but it meant that although the lady running the entertainment tried her best to say everything in both German and English, she ultimately ended up siding with German and we were sat there wondering what the hell was going on whilst others were laughing! We decided to venture out and about for food and entertainment after the first night. Maspalomas is quiet with little to do, but we knew this before travelling (I don't understand why people don't research the place they pay £100's to go to and complain about it after they leave!!) The places to eat are simple but cheap and very friendly (and adore kids!). Probably better for lunch rather than an evening meal. Taxi's are very cheap mind you and 3 or 4 Euros gets you to the beech front with all designers shops and nicer resturants. As far as the facilities go, there are 2 huge pools at Green Golf, and a baby pool. Ample sunbeds, and a pool bar which is nice enough. Bungalows are basic but again, nice enough. We requested more pillows and had them within 10 minutes, had a problem with hot water and again, a maintenance guy was there within half an hour. We set out on this holiday wanting a cheap week of winter sun and we got what we paid for. It had it's bad points, it's quiet and the resturant staff are a bit abrupt. But we're a young (ish!) family with a infant and we wanted somewhere quiet to have some family time and found it to be perfect. Would we go back and stay again? Resort yes, complex, probably not. One word of advise - Maspalomas and surrounding areas are VERY expensive. I didn't pay less that 3.50 Euros for a Pint once all week and at one place was shocked to get the bill to find a pint had cost us 6 Euros!!!!!!"
