"After reading the reviews on this holiday before we set off, I have to say that we were a little apprehensive. We were in a party of 5 (2 adults, 2 aged 16/17 and 1 12 year old).

All I can say is that we need not have worried. The apartments were clean, spacious and comfortable with great views. Staff at the resort very helpful and friendly. Pool area fantastic, plenty of sunbeds etc (although 60c a day for bed mat if wanted). Lifeguard/pool attendant ever present...first time I have seen this on holiday!!

Food was good although sometimes lukewarm. This really did depend on when you went to eat as restaurant open over 3 hour periods! However, with faddy kids-there was always something for them to eat. Meals were varied, always meat, pasta and salad options. We were pleasantly surprised after reading all the previous reviews and it certainly wasn't the worst we have come across!!! Did eat out once on the last night at the Show Boat 2 Chinese (Really good and well worth a go!)

The very BIG plus for this holiday was the Animation/Entertainment Team at the Hotel. Ian, Jannine & Beate worked really hard to keep people happy and I think they did a FANTASTIC job. If you wanted to, you could take part in activities all day and all night as well!! They were friendly and welcoming without being too pushy. They bent over backwards to try to ensure that everyone was happy, especially as the weather during our holiday wasn't too great (it would have been really easy to become bored and fed up). Activities varied day to day for adults/older kids/teenagers and there was a kids club for younger children.

On the down side, the bar is a type of marquee and they struggled to keep it warm enough to be comfortable at night. You had to try to make sure you got a table under the few patio heaters scattered around. Another minus was the fact that they only had snacks available from 15.30-16.30 in the afternoon (Quality variable). However, there is a supermarket nearby if you want to buy snacks but I think you shouldn't have to do that if you have paid to holiday in an all inclusive resort.

The market (Thurs & Mon) was a short walk away from the hotel, as was a bingo hall, bowling alley and water park (Opens March). Plenty to keep you entertained for a week but it might be worth hiring a car or taking a few trips if staying longer than that.

You can hire bikes, motorbikes, sand buggies or trikes locally and there is a ferry that goes to Lanzarote (Playa Blanca) from the port (20-30 mins walk away)."

"Just had a week at this resort and found the apartments fantastic, clean, spacious and modern. The pool area was very clean with two large pools and plenty of loungers.

The food was varied but could have been a little hotter and the restaurant is a like a canteen but the staff were very efficient and friendly.

The bar area isn't that nice as it is like a marquee and is non smoking, however the measures are very generous and the bar staff are very friendly.

The evening entertainment leaves alot to be desired but I guess you can't please everyone.

The town itself is a short walk but didn't find it very clean, however lots of bars, restaurants and shops especially good deals on clothes and perfumes.

Overall a most enjoyable stay but for a 30 year old not much of a nightlife, think it is aimed more at families.

"After reading some of the earlier reviews I must say that I was not really expecting a good time at this resort.

How different our holiday to that expressed in these reviews.

The complex is very clean with lovely laid out gardens and apartments. There are two very large pools, one of which was heated to 25 degrees and apart from a couple of leaves which had blown in was found to be extremely clean. There is also a children’s pool. The staff were very pleasant and efficient.

The bar staff served quickly and efficiently. The food too, although a somewhat limited buffet proved to be very tasty. We did find that the meals could have been served hotter as the plates were never preheated. However, we could always find dishes very much to our taste although I must agree that the restaurant is similar to a works canteen and requires a better ambiance.

The island now operates a no smoking policy in all public places. As such we found the bar area and restaurant to be so much pleasanter than they would otherwise have been.

I don't normally write reviews but felt strongly that someone should put the record straight with regard to this resort - we had a lovely weeks holiday!"

"Just Had a week stay all inclusive at this resort and came away with mixed thoughts about it.

The complex itself is very new spacious and clean, excellent rooms, pool area and gardens. What let it down was the pool bar because this is basically an open sided big gazebo and that’s the only place you could get a drink at night. Not really a nice place to drink and socialise. Plastic tables and chairs watered down drinks not good.

The Restaurant was not much better serving alright food but nothing to excite your palate and decor was a bit like the school canteen.

Going into town was the only option for a good meal but be warned its nearly 2 miles away to walk. Taxi 2 euro each way.

We gave up on the all inclusive after 2 days and hired a car and toured this fantastic island and went out for meals.

The town has some spot on places to eat well worth a visit.
Very English resort and will only take you one day to see everything.
Very easy to drive hardly any traffic and some great places to see all over the island..

Hope this helps.

Dave.

"The apartment was of a good standard and the layout of the pool area was excellent. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful (although it was difficult for us to get hold of a child seat for the back of a hire bike - even though they had them on site!).

Overall the main problem during our stay was the poor quality of food which included: very undercooked bacon at breakfast, fruit not very fresh at all, undercooked boiled eggs, undercooked pork! Combined with lots of flies if we ate outside and the lack of atmosphere in the restaurant (similar to a works canteen!), we ended up eating out most days/nights. Luckily we had picked up a fairly last minute deal so had not paid as much as you would in the height of the season. If however you had paid full price it would have been very, very poor value for money on the catering side of things!

The entertainment was mediocre some nights good some nights poor. On some nights there was only one bar staff to serve drinks which led to large queues developing.

The bar area was semi outside (like sitting in a large marquee!) so in January when the temperatures drop during the evening it was very cold and fleeces/coats required unless you were lucky enough to get into the bar early enough to bagsy a patio heater!

If visiting in January to Corralejo fleeces & jackets are a must - very chilly in the evenings!!

"This is a relatively new complex which seems to have been well thought out - first impressions are good. The three pools were well appointed with sunbeds but the heating was broken.

Apartments were spacious and clean although there were no wardrobes or drawers in the second bedroom or in the lounge. However the sparseness of the entertainment in the evening and the poorly run kids club combined with the uninteresting choice of food especially for the children did not help us to enjoy this holiday as much as we thought we would.

"Only one bar area which does not allow smoking.

Very loud when all children in at night. Very uncomfortable bar spoilt holiday as little for adults to do. Resort is good but be aware of high drink prices in the winning post bar just outside on the right of the complex. 1.5 e for a small bottle of water and over £4 for a Bacardi coke.

Cala Fuste worth visiting and shipwreck worth seeing too. Very friendly bar staff at Sadie’s, talk of town, and Festas."

"We stayed at this complex over the New Year period. The apartments are lovely and clean. However the food was not very warm, with little choice and lots of flies around the eating area.

We and many other people had to eat out in the resort. Although the staff were very friendly they were under resourced and we had to queue to obtain a drink from the bar. "

"Just got back from a fortnight at the Oasis Tamirindo. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The children’s entertainment staff were great - so very relaxing for the adults! Three lovely pools - the food was very varied and you could always find something you liked. The rooms were clean.

The town centre was a 15-20 minute walk away, but the roads were well lit and it was a quite pleasant walk. The area around the hotel is very quiet although I would think this will change as there are many new buildings ready to be occupied. There's a local water park and bowling alley which are great for the kids. The only grumble would be the evening entertainment which started a little late for the kids.
All in all, very enjoyable and relaxing.

"This is a great holiday for children aged between 10-16. It is very relaxing for adults too because the children are always doing something. There is always something to do. The entertainers are VERY nice. The food is great, the people are friendly.

There were quite alot of flies and mosquietos. There is internet access but it doesn't work alot of the time, but if it isn't working Oasis Papagayo has internet access which is a 2 minute walk up the road.
