10 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"Stayed for 12days AI with husband and 2 teenagers - overall food very basic (leftovers at lunch were used for evening meal!) towards end of 2nd week food choice became limited at one point even salad wasnt available!! Room was cleaned occasionally although wasnt very good - towels and bedlinen only changed twice (had to request more clean towels) Upkeep of rooms not very good - rust in bath, faulty sockets, ripped curtains. Pool area was never cleaned during our stay - we expected a brush down and a hosing once in a while general maintenance work and a little tlc is needed throughout. Entertainment was only on 3nights out of the 12!! Our courtesy room was the maintenance storeroom needless to say we didnt bother having a shower before out journey home!!! Have travelled AI before and this resort doesnt come close - very disappointed!"

Lovely holiday, nice and relaxing
"Have just come back from Las Olas went with my daughter for a relaxing holiday and having read the reviews was a bit anxious. However, need not have worried we had a lovely time, nice and relaxing just what we wanted. The rooms were basic but cleaned daily, we did have a problem with our first room which when we mentioned it we were moved immediately without question to another room. The food was plentiful if not first class and you could always find something to eat, but as has been mentioned you get what you pay for if you want first class pay for first class, I've never been AI before but my daughter has and said that it was about the same everywhere. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpfuch, we had a courtesty room on our last day at no extra cost so was able to shower and change before our flight home which was nice. No entertainment to speak of but that didn't bother us too much. The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the main strip so easily accesible, I think some people go on holiday just to find fault, all in all we had a nice time and have said we would both go back there again."

certenly not brilliant
"Thank god I was fortunate to be able to have two holidays this year as this one was not very good! (We've just come back from an all inclusive again in Majorca(Hotel Haiti) and there was no comparison. This room looked very tired and dated (1970's) and the bath i wouldn't have washed a dog in it (there were more rust stains on it then most oil tankers!!!!!) The food in the bar area at lunch time invariably cold while the salad and desserts where covered in flies as there were no covers. The Staff weren't the happiest or approachable bunch either, it was like i was being a nuisance to ask for a drink. There was very little enertainment for the kids in the evening... just some guy plastered in tatoos letting them play guitar hero for an hour or so before the professional??? came on .... We saw some reggae bloke whos mic broke not very good, an awful singer who couldn't !! and an ok magician .One night it was the entertainers night off so we had nothing, no music nothing! all in all I wish I hadn't bothered and saved my money needless to say we wont be going back ."

Our Las Olas Experience
"You pay for what you get, basic but cleaned every day and towels too. All Inclusive ok not as bad as reviews made out, when we had a problem asked reception to deal with it and they did. If you have read the reviews then do not have a high expectation get on with your holiday and enjoy the wonderful weather and chill out. Lots of other places to eat and great live music."

"Appartments very basic but cleaned most day's. food edible for the first few day's if it's not used up at lunchtime then ( all inclusive ) you have it in the evening normally mixed with some kind of sauce . Very little choice same menu all week , but plenty of decent and reasonably priced places to eat in the high street .
No entertainment to speak of and nothing for kids, having said that it is in a very good location and the sand dunes are beautiful , beaches are clean weather fantastic, hot with a lovely sea breeze. Had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday."

"some people were unlucky with their accomadation, all i can say is the rooms were clean, the pool was cleaned every day, food was okay, breakfast had a good choice of food for everyone you get what you pay for , my family and i had a great time lots to do if you want the most out of your holiday or you can just lay by the pool all day, one complaint i would make would be how lazy and inconsiderate fellow british holiday makers were, leaving their litter and food all around the pool every day,how can people complain when they have no standards of their own, make the most of your holiday is a good guide to go by and i did."

Surf and Fuerteventura
Last month i was staying at aparthotel las olas.
I booked for a complete pack with Homegrown ( www.homegrown.es ) for 7 night las olas, transport airport and 6 days of surf. The hotel was clean and the surfteachers were very friendly and we had good waves at cotillo and drop beach. We only boked for breakfast because the Homegrownstaff told us that in Corralejo there are many good and cheaprestaurant and in generally the food in the hotels in Corralejo is not that good,so every day after surfing we had some tapas and than a siestain our hotel. Perfect sun, surf and siestas. What do you want more."

Perfect location for a couple for a week in the sun!
"The beach is only a ten minute walk way, the supermarket a 2 minute walk and the old town only 15 mintues! perfect! The apartments are basic but contain everything you need -afterall you don't spend much time in them! It was cleaned evey day so no annoying sand underfoot after coming out of the shower! There is a choice of two pools which were never overcrowded so always a lounger free. We didn't stay for any food as we ate out every night as theres so much choice of resturants. We had surf lessons all week with waverider surf school so sampled most of the beachs to the north of the island as they provide transport and a chance to get away from the crowds. I have never seen such blue sea!"
