"Atlantic Garden resort Corralejo Fuerteventura

Location: Very good for all Corralejo attractions
Apartments: Adequate but need air conditioning
Pools: Good Clean & well maintained
Cleanliness general: room for improvement
Restaurant and bar: failed badly here, spoke to the barman and catering lady on arrival to say hello , completley blanked me
No warmth or greeting for new arrivals, no atmosphere, tried again next morning, identical response, poor!
Receptionist: from Madrid great guy helpful, understanding, a real asset.
Greatest problem was "No Hotel Sign" the address was notified as Aveneda Gran Canaria, drove around for 2 hours looking for Apts, eventualy found with help from another hotel was advised sign was in danger of blowing down so removed it?.
This resort is in the process of being broken down into time share and some apts were privatly owned, there were some unsavoury looking residents on site and evidence (doors had been kicked in) of potential problems.
With better management this could be a worthwile venue in the future judging by position , location, and potential. but we would not wish to return under current senario."

Quiet complex within easy reach of beaches and town
"Booked the apartment privately on holidaylets. There are a number of private apartments on this complex and I would recommend you shop around among the private owners for the best deal. We went for 11 nights and paid £300 for a upper floor south facing apartment(sun all day and into the evening) with aircon. Would recommend an upper floor apartment as there is no security whatsover on the site and it is easily accessible by anyone from the road. As in previous reviews the town is a 10 minute walk away on the flat and a 3 euro taxi return from the old town late in the evening. You can access the Olivia beaches with a 30 minute walk or the local beaches within 10 minutes.
If you hire a car and I will next time I go as the taxis cost 45 euros each way , then head for Corralejo from the Airport when you pass the two Riu hotels on the Olivia beach about 400 metres further on you will reach the first roundabout. Turn right at this roundabout and in about another 500 metres you will come to another roundabout. Again turn right down a slope by the shopping centre in to a one way road. You will see the big clock tower above the shopping centre...you cant miss it. at night it is lit up like a circus bigtop!!! With the shopping centre on your left Immediately you have passed the last shop look to your left and you will see the Atlantic Garden complex. There are NO signs, just park anywhere nearby and go to reception, they are very helpful.
Good restaurants...for chargrill steak the Plaza Steakhouse but if you like a thick steak then ask for it...otherwise the chef will bash the life out of the steak and it will come flat!!! For fish and a great spanish restaurant try Avenidos in the old town same street as Rosie O'Gradies (good irish bar) but way down the other end. Near Avenidos is a wonderful shoe shop cheap and great value.
For Italian try the Mediterraneo which is not far from Rosie O'Gradys but on the main road to the bus station. There is also a very cheap and good clothes shop on this road...right to the end of the main street and turn left the clothes shop is about 50 metres up on the let, the Mediteraneo about 250 metres.
All in all we had a fabulous holiday. One tip watch the mossies and the big cockroaches...they are about!!! Buy a big mossie spray tin and spray your apartment before you go out...sorts them out."

"Corralejo, Fuerteventura; Atlantic Garden, a nice place!

We are just back from a two-week stay in the Atlantic Garden, Corralejo. It is a very nice complex, with a lovely garden, great swimmingpools and big sunterraces. The staff at the reception is very kind and helpfull. The location is excellent, 10 minutes walking to the village, 15 minutes to the big beaches next to the sanddunes, 5 minutes to the busstop and there is a Netto-supermarket 2 minutes away (an expensive one, you better go to the village where there are different better places to shop if you need a lot ). Corralejo is fine place to stay and the whole island is peacefull and colourfull. The Sotavento-beaches in the south are particular beautifull with the green lagune, the blue see and the golden sand (romantic). You can easy drive to the south and relax on the beaches in one day. The roads are very good, so no problem to get around when you hire a car (recommended). It seems like tourism is coming up and everywhere there are building-projects (hotels, roads, airport...) I hope they will follow the example of Lanzarote and they will not do wrong to the beauty of the island. Concerning the appartments of Atlantic Garden, you have what you need, but nothing more. The private terrace is large and that is great. But the appartment needs some renovation. It is clean when you arrive, but cleaning can be better while you stay there. But if you need some things like toiletpaper, fresh towels...., ask the reception and they help you,
All by all we had a good holiday and we enjoyed our stay."

Great stay for less.
"We stayed for 6 nights in Atlantic Garden.
We had a 1-bedroom apartment on the first floor. A great view from our terrace over the garden and swimmingpool.
We payed only ⬠160 for 6 nights with 2 persons, so very good priced.
Although the furniture was a bit basic the apartment was comfortable. The cleaners came 3 times during our stay to clean the apartment and change the towels and bed linen.
The water in the swimmingpool was a bit cold.
It's a 10 minutes walk to the centre of Corralejo. You don't need to use the kitchen to prepare dinner because in most restaurants you can eat a good meal for less than ⬠10.
We found the supermarket in the shoppingcentre next to A.Garden expansive. If you have a car (like we had) it's better to drive to another (bigger) supermarket. We went 2 times to a big shoppingmall (92 shops) in Puerto di Rosario.
We can recommand you Atlantic Garden certainley when you stay in Corralejo."

Good value for money
"Just spent 10 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment on the ground floor. Room 116 - good location overlooks gardens and the pool. Quite shaded. and quiet. The apartments were quite basic but clean - bedding and towels changed 4 days during my stay.
Hadn't been sure what to expect as I hadn't been on holiday in self -catering apartments in Spain for a number of years.I had been unable to find out many details before arrival, and the forum was unable to provide all the information so I will share the answers to the queries I had! Kitchen had a fridge, hob, microwave, kettle and toaster (unlike some other places I could name!) No hairdryer though, nor teatowels washing up items etc.
Lounge was fairly spacious but hte sofa and chairs were a little grubby. TV with only 2 english channels Sky news and CNN. (however did spend an entertaining 20 minutes watching Spanish equivalents to - what we thought were - celebrity love island and "Britains got talent !!).
Laundry on site - pay by token.
Shower (plenty of hot water) and bath.
Got bit a few times by mosquitos.
3 pools (very cold!) plenty of room for sunbeds. Nice little bar which served snacks.
Staff realy helpful. Slight problem in that they are undergoing refurbishments and have taken the Atalntic Garden sign down. The entrance is on a 1 way street and we drove past it 3 times before we realised.
On the resort map it looked quite far out from the main areas but it was a nice 15-20 stroll in the evening to walk to the old town and the music square (quicker if we went out earlier and walked along the beach).
The bells from the shopping centre next door are not as bad as other reviewers have made out, at it is a great view from the bell tower (just don't go up there on the hour!) The Netto supermarket is quite expensive - if you have a car it is worth dirving up to the Hiper -Dino in the old town.
We hired a car for the 10 days and was worth it to get to and from the airport and drive to different beaches. There are parking spaces off the road along the side of the apartments.
Final point - I would return to these apartments which means I would recommend them! I might try a privately rented one next time though."

Reasonably priced but you get what you pay for ...
"We've just returned from the Atlantic Garden Hotel, Corraljo in Fuerteventura. It was a reasonably priced holiday booked via Freedom Direct. We hired a car via Europcar, also very reasonably priced.
First of all there are no directions on the website that we could find so we used our newly purchased TomTom Europe, it did not find the street the hotel was on but our search for it was greatly hampered by the hotel having NO sign at all for it, we even walked into Reception and asked if we had come to the right place after an hour of searching the streets of Corraljo and asking at a nearby shopping complex that turned out to be next door! (Handy Netto supermarket)
The Atlantic Garden Hotel itself is very pleasant with nicely kept gardens and pools, sunbeds seemed new and there is a pool bar that seemed to be open 24/7 although I'm sure it did close at some point, there was no noise that we were aware of. The Reception staff were friendly and helpful upon arrival as well as during our stay for calling taxi's, advice on trips and replacing a lightbulb very quickly.
The one bedroomed apartment we were allocated was right at the back of the complex with a view of a road so people walking past could see us sunning ourselves on our terrace, although disappointing when we arrived it did not bother us during our stay, we were grateful to have sun as many of the apartments around us did not seem to. Atlantic Garden Hotel does not have a sea view so the best outlook would be onto the pool but we wondered as we had paid a lower price if the better locations on the complex would be more expensive. Generally the apartment was clean and well serviced (2 towel and sheet changes in one week) but we would describe it as 'tired' and in need of a re-furbishment, ok for a week.
Our biggest winge was the bed(s). We had chosen this resort specifically from the photos of the apartments which looked clean and particularly had a double bed. Our apartment had twin beds of different heights and extremely uncomfortable, causing our shared back problems to be worsened during the stay. After the 2nd uncomfortable night we approached Reception to ask to be moved to an Apartment with a double bed to be told the ATLANTIC GARDEN HOTEL HAS NO DOUBLE BEDS. We explained our surprise and even showed the Receptionist a printout of the site we had used to book the holiday which included photos of the apartment and in partiuclar the comfy, rather orange, double bed. He re-iterated that there are none, that it is Agencies who put the photos on the site and it is not the Hotel's responsibility, he confirmed that some of the apartments on the site are privately owned and that a photo from one of them could be used.
Corraljo itself was a good choice with many restaurants and a nice feel to the small town. We toured the island and as much as we liked the south we were pleased with our choice of resort. We did not like Caleta De Fuste which is the other English resort, further south is dominated by German resorts although a beautiful location the cost of a drink on the beach was double of that in Corraljo. The beaches and sand dunes in Corraljo are stunning. Our overall impression of Fuerteventura was unspoilt but barren and loses a lot of it's beauty when the sun does not shine! We felt we would return for a week of winter sun, but not to Atlantic Garden Hotel unless they put in double beds!"

Atlantic Garden seven days in February 2008
Ihave just come back from a holiday in Corralejo,Fuerteventura,Canary Islands,Spain,
I spent seven days in the above apartment and found it to be clean and tidy, the bed linen was changed twice the same as the bathroom towels.
The apartment is situated close to the centre of the town and beach and shopping areas and i found it to be less noisey than some i have been to.
I would certainley go back again."

Good basic appartments
"Accommodation was basic but very clean and eveything worked. Only got swept out once during week and if you are self catering you have to dispose of your own rubbish in wheely bins outside hotel. Reception staff were excellent - friendly and helpful.
The bells from the shopping complex next door were a bit tacky but fun and only rang on the hour during the day. Worth it for the freshly cooked breads from the supermarket.
There was a problem with security at night so keep your appartment locked and no windows open.
Six minutes walk to town beach which is suitable for families and a little bit more to the town centre. Big sandy beach which is popular with naturists is about half hour walk and sand blown if there is any wind.
Don't expect Correlajo to be a sleepy Canarian fishing village. It is a fast growing resort with eveything that entails - water park, supermarkets, Irish bars and English breakfasts everywhere. Weather was good and got the tan went there for."

jingle bells !!
"not far from the hotel you will find the new commercial center called campanario, and enjoy the "happy" sounds it will serve you every two hours, 10 minutes long. Nothing helps to reduce it; police, guardia civil, tourist office, hotel
we just try now to write the mayor of la Oliva , to which Coralejo belongs. that's a pity because eveything else was quite OK!"

ok for a short break
"My friend and I have just returned from a 3 day mini break at this hotel. We wanted to just get some sunshine so the fact our room was pretty basic was ok.
Few problems - firstly, if you are going to get a taxi from the airport which we did, make sure you take a map or address of the hotel, as there is no signpost outside the hotel and all the hotels in that area look very similar! It made for an interesting tour of the block at night by the taxi driver until we eventually guessed which one it was!
Secondly, not sure if there was a special event on, but for the three days, every day between 10am and 9pm, the church bells not only chimed each hour which was fine, but each hour the bells would last a good five minutes whilst the bell ringers showed off their musical skills, even including a bell version of the english national anthem! Considering the church is literally next door to the resort this was quite loud but you got used to it after a while and it was a handy way of telling the time!
Lastly, the sofa in our room had broken and there was no hot water in the shower, but considering the temperature was 26 this was fine.
Overall it was fine for what we wanted but I think any longer than 3 days and I would have wanted a better hotel."

never go there
"When me, my partner and 6 yr old daughter arrived, the receptionist just handed us a map we never got any meet and greet.... as in previous stays at dif apartments. We were handed a map and she pointed where are room was. It was hard to find as it was not sign posted well. Appartment was ok. Secoumd day in my partner swept floor and found TABLETS which had been left from previous ppl staying in that room. They were loose on the floor! !!! Not happy as my little girl could of took them staff didnt seem to bothered, food was crap all fried massive sign saying do not rreserve sunbeds but ppl did anyway so wen we wanted to go swimming there was no where for us to sit and being 7 months pregnant and seeing 10 ppl in the pool but 20 sunbeds reserved was a joke! Wanted to cook are last breakfast as we had to be up early but no pans!? No entertainment and no air con so u couldnt breath at night! Dont stay there....."
