"before going here on holiday i had read the reviews and must say was quite worried. These villas are clean and tidy maids every day and pool cleaned every day. So you should not worry. We had villa No.12 10 min walk to the town. Plenty of places to eat and the supermarket near villa quite adequate. Prickly palm opposite great food. Lovely breakfast. Lins cafe in town good and wild west, chinese also good. We only found the castro centre 2 days before coming home and it is a little livelier. Most cafe do 3 course meal for 8.50 - bargain. These villas are not luxury but very suitable and they are not dirty - stayed in worse hotels and paid more money. Pool great. Yes the refuse collectors came every day about 6am but had no problem going back to sleep. Would you rather they didnt come and have rats and cockroaches everywhere. We did have ants but only when food was dropped. We just swept them away. No prob really. Oh by the way you are only 10km from airport be realistic you gonna hear planes.! I dont know what some people expect so dont worry if you going you will have a great time. Yes villa layout funny and not good if you have children under 10 but ok otherwise. "

"My husband and I travelled in January to VIP Villas for a week. The villa itself (villa number 2) was lovely because the outside area by the pool was not overlooked at all, whereas some of the others you could see into. The villa was very clean and had every kitchen utensil you could possibly need and plenty of everything. A couple of down points on the villa: The downstairs area with pool table and jacuzzi was a good size but hadn't been aired so smelt quite damp. The bedroom matress was quite thin and the bed was creaky but nothing major. The biggest negative is that the villa is directly under the flight path so every 20 to 30 minutes a plane goes overhead which can be noisy. When you book, if you are offered to get a 'shuttle bus' from the airport I would strongly recommend that you do NOT do this. The villa is only about 15 mins drive away. We got on the bus straight from picking up our luggage and it was already half full. We then waited over an hour before it left and there was no air conditioning! We then spent almost another hour dropping everyone else off at their various villas and hotels so it took a lot longer than we thought to get to our place. A taxi would be much quick and only slightly more expensive. The bus picked us up on the way back on time but we were the first ones on and it took an hour to pick everyone else up before heading to the airport. If I did it again I would definitely go for the taxi option. Caleta De Fuste itself is a typical Spanish resort. The pizza at Gambrinus is nice but do NOT go for the Tapas there. They salt it within an inch of their life and 5 dishes ended up costing 30 euros and we could only manage a few bites each. If you're happy to spend sunny days reading by the pool it's a good place to go for a week."

"This was a last minute booking to get away from the English weather. No air conditioning, which meant that rooms were really hot during the night. Not viable to open window as it was directly on the road (a thief's dream) Our Villa had rusty fridge/freezer, washing machine with no controls, you had to guess to washing cycle. Sofas were filthy(covers came off so I washed those). We had no light in our pool, so quite dangerous at night. Reported it but nothing done. Although, the Pool man was lovely and very helpful. One big minus is Cockroaches. Inundated with them. Though its not just a problem in this villa. It appears the island is awash with the blighters. Reception gave us a tin of cockroach spray which was ineffective. Unfortunately, although we complained there were no other villas available, so we had to make the most of it. Hired a car and journeyed all over the island which we enjoyed. Locals are very friendly and always willing to help. The centre itself is ifeless. Everything shuts at 11.00pm. Food is average pricing but very English. Not one decent local restaurant. I like to sample the local food and mix with local people. Positive side now. Weather was lovely, even though speaking to locals they said weather wasn't as good as it could be? The beach was lovely and clean. Would I go again. No. Would I recommend it No."

"On arrival the villa was perfect, very clean and spacious. As two couples travelling we found the villa to have ample room (3 bedrooms) and very large terrace with eight sunbeds and own private pool. There was a massive games room and outdoor shower located below the bedrooms which was amazing and certainly kept us entertained. The pool table provided hours of fun. Although surrounded by other villas, each villa had its own privacy from each other with none overlooking the pool area. However there was a significant ant problem, with them getting into the drawers and wardrobes and infesting all our clothes. A word of warning though- beware of the floor tiles after they have been mopped- a member of our party slipped after the cleaners had been in and required 6 stitches after cutting themselves on the tiles after falling. The medical treatment was excellent although costly, so make sure you take out holiday insurance before travelling. The resort is in the flight path, so an advantage being speedy resort transfers but noisy planes constantly was a bit of a disadvantage. The resort was beautiful, lovely views inland and only a ten minute walk to the beach. We found that many restaurants and snackbars catered mainly British food, but there were a couple of gems, especially one restaurant on the sea front that catered the most amazing fresh fish and also very friendly. We had a lovely time in the villas, and would definitely go back. This is not a resort to go to for the nightlife; we certainly enjoyed lazing reading our books, with truly amazing weather and lovely man made beaches. I would certainly recommend a trip up to the North of the Island to see the sand dunes, a truly amazing experience. All in all the accommodation was okay, the only real disadvantage being the ant problem, noise from entertainment from the neighbouring resort and the flight path. "

"We stayed in the Villa for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period 2006. First impressions were very pleasing. The three bedrooms were large, bright and airy, the Kitchen small but very well equipped although we could have done with instruction manuals for the appliances. The Jacuzzi and billiard room were a knockout with our three children, but due to security I would not expect a child to sleep in this room, perfect may I add for teenagers to get away from Mum and Dad, there is even a small fridge in the room. The pool area and patio were lovely, but we were majorly disappointed that the pool, although perfectly maintained was unusable due to being so cold, this was a major blow as I had envisioned hours of fun for the children. It was so cold that dipping in any further than your knees resulted in numb toes. It was the same all over the resort - the pools were empty due to not being heated. The maid service at the Villa was second to none, with changes of towels every two days, most acceptable. The wind wasn't too bad, but use a windbreak if you are going to the beach. It is well worth a walk to the Sheraton complex to take a coffee in the cafe out to sea, the views are lovely. The Spar supermarket was adequate and a lot cheaper than the Netto stores in town. Watch out for the waiters in the Pizzaria in Town if you have a young daughter, they can be over friendly. The Island was very disappointing, I likened it to a building site, but Corrlejo is nice and the sand dunes have to be seen to be believed. We took a car trip through and over the mountains, not for the faint hearted! Overall a nice but not great holiday, the Villa was the highlight but the pool let it down. The weather was lovely though, ideal for a winter tan. Would I recommend it, no, but perhaps you should see for yourself."

"Our family of 6 travelled to Fuerteventura last October, we stayed in a 2 bed roomed villa, we were impressed from the outset, from our greeting at the airport to the standard of the accommodation. The villa was situated in a nice area, quiet so no disturbed nights, it was a downhill walk to the centre and to the beach but it was a pleasant walk. The villa itself was spacious well furnished, the kitchen had fridge/freezer, oven, toaster, toastie maker, with plenty of cutlery and crockery and a dish washer. The lounge area had TV, DVD, stereo system with speakers throughout the villa. There were plenty of English channels to watch, sky movies and cartoons for the kids, sports channels. The games room downstairs was very spacious; my children (2 boys) loved it, playing pool whenever they wanted. There were pull out beds in there, I was a little worried about the boys been not in earshot and so they slept on mattresses on the living room floor, but if I were to go again I would be happy for them to sleep in the games room. The bedrooms were spacious and well furnished with plenty of draws and hanging space for a family of 4, the room my parents occupied was also very spacious with plenty of storage space. We could not fault the cleanliness of the villa, the 2 maids who came every day were very thorough in their cleaning, bed linen was changed every 3 days and the towels were changed almost daily. They were very pleasant and helpful as were reception staff in the complex close to villa( this is where you collect key from). The pool area/ veranda was roomy with plenty of sun loungers, the pool was cleaned and checked daily. My parents enjoyed the tranquillity of having their own pool area but we also had the best of both worlds as you are able to use the Caleta Dorada Bungalows pool, there is plenty entertainment there which kept the children happy. They have a great pool area, plenty of sun loungers, they did lack in parasols though. Caleta de Fuste, I found, in October, was quiet, but there were plenty of restaurants and pubs. I would say definitely a family resort, which we enjoyed. The only negative was the mosquitoes, so take repellent if you are going. We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there, it was like home from home and we look forward to going back to VIP villas. "

"The villa's are in a residential area and are not at all remote. In easy walking distant to town, down hill. However, not so easy to walk back to at night with a full tummy. Having a car is essential, as resort is nice but a whole fortnight would be a bit boring. Roads are excellent and all new. Villa has everything you may wish for. So don't pack too many clothes as you can use your own washing machine. Take some DVD’s with you as the lounge has TV and DVD. Nice size clean pool, however, the bark chippings from the garden and dust sometimes blew into the pool. Downstairs pool room and extra bathroom is good for extra living space, but too remote and damp to let small children sleep in. We ended up putting extra beds into the ground floor rooms, which isn't ideal if you want some privacy. The sleeping arrangements were the only draw back really. Kitchen and BBQ were great. See all of the island by car and go and visit the zoo. A great day out. If you are self catering, make sure you visit the large Spar supermarket on the outskirts of the resort, where the cinema and underground car park is. Great fish and meat counter."
