"Arrived late evening reception was very helpfull was in the apartment withing 10 mins of arriving. In the room there was tea, coffee, milk and bottled water,so we had the essentialls due to evening arrival the rooms where very clean and tidy.Rooms were cleaned every other day and Bedding and towels was changed every other day. Swimming pool was spotless, shops and other resturants are literally 1 in walk from apartments. The red lion pub is on the complex but it is owned seperatly by an english couple who where absolutley fantastic and made you feel very welcome there was something to do every other night in the red lion pub it was also open till the last person falls out the day lol. In the mornings the red lion pub do a fantastic full english breakfast for the low price of 5 euros (well worth it) also if you are stopping on the complex the red lion pub also give you 10% back on food (don't forget to ask). All in all a very good holiday and i would definetly reccommend these apartments will be going back very soon. from pete and irene, micky, julie, carol and ray, birmingham,uk "

a sunny week in march
"Villa Florida was really nice to stay in. it was in a very central area and we only had a few problems which were we were there for one week and the bedding wasnt changed and the towels smelt funny even though they were changed twice.
we found that our welcome meeting could have been better for example telling us how we could walk to the shopping centre either along the beach or the main road which was about 20 mins walk all we were told that we could get a bus from the local hotel.
also that the place was advertised as costa calletta however when we got there this wasnt even mentioned as it was called caleta de fuste or el costillo we later found out they are in the process of trying to change the name.
good beach after about ten mins walk from start of beach
steak house which is literally just down the road
euro spar just in the shoppin centre
apartment 264 great size and shape massive balcony with all day sun pool view literally next to it and upstairs so has good view.
barcelo fuerteventuras mini golf easy couse and hard course both good for a laugh or to fill some time "

You get what you pay for
"Just returned from a week at Villa Florida, have been to this resort many times but first time at Villa Florida. The apartments were basic and clean although the sheets were not changed for the whole week we were there and as with most other reviews the towles were rather smelly, but we washed them through and they were fine.
I notice one of the reviwers stayed in the same apartment as us 245...............avoid this apartment at all costs................it gets NO SUN at all.We would return to Villa Florida again, great value for money but we would avoid apartment 245 and take some Lenor for the towels.
the safe key is available for 24 euros with 12 euros retuned when u hand back the key.
The resort is brilliant, very clean and quiet and relaxed, the major downside is the Euro,we went self catering and found it to be very very expensive to either eat out or buy shopping.one meal came to over £40 for a cheese pizza and a lasgane and 2 diet cokes.
I can recomend a short taxi ride (about 15 euros) to the capital Rossario. it has a brilliant shopping centre with some realy cool shops, but be warned, thats all that there,we walked around the town to explore the
rest of the city, its a waste of time, stick to the shopping centre.
A good week and we both have brilliant tans.

"We stayed at the villa florida for two weeks in january/february of 2009.
The apartment was basic to say the least but it was cheap. The sheets on the beds were not the nicest, the only reason that we knew they had been changed was that there were no creases in them. The beds felt damp, and there was no heating in the apartment. The lighting was very dim and if you wanted to read at night you had to supplement the lighting by candles. The other big drawback to our apartment was that we had no sun whatsoever on our balcony. (room 245).
The Red Lion pool bar is a total rip off we went on the first night and they had run out of everything that we asked for. We tried again on the second night, but the prices had been upped as there was an act on. We found that 3 euros for bacon egg and sausage was a bit overpriced when you could get a big breakfast at the Dome pub just down the road for 5 euros. By the second weeek the red lion had dropped the price to 2.75 euros, still a rip off.
Another place to avoid is the Trafalgar, they advertise breakfast at 4.75 euros, when the bill came 2 breakfasts and two coffees were charged at 21.95 euros. When challenged the owner (who had beeen standing at the top of the steps slagging off other bar owners) said that it was correct and that he had knocked 20per cent off the drinks, all I can say is that the two coffees must have been very expensive.
We found that the best places to eat were the Dome pub, the Fado rock Steak house and for those late night munchies the Slap and Tickle bar do a great burger and chips for 4.50 euros.
We would go to caletta again but not to the villa florida .

Good holiday in costa caleta
"Our stay in the villa florida was great there was enough to do to keep you busy for a week it is also good for children as there were two play parks a mere five minutes away to keep the wee ones busy.... great places to eat the mambo steak house outside the apartments also the trafalgar restaurant which is to the left when you come out off the apartments and walk for five minutes... was very impressed our apartment was cleaned every day apart from the sunday. staff at the apartments were so nice and are willing to give you loads off advice a must do is the excursion to oasis park if you book at the office at the shopping center it is only 18 euro per adult well worth the money and must see. however my only negative point about the holiday i found was the rep he was very disinterested and not helpfull....if you need to ask anything just ask ladies at reception.."

"Stayed at villa florida six times. The security is very poor. The local thief known as Fransico hangs around the local bars and comes and goes as he pleases with nothing to stop him. I witnessed him pinching two Nintendos from an apartment but no police ever called. This spoils the Villa Florida and will definitely not be back for some years.
The Red Lion Pool Bar is run by a lovely family who are very friendly. SLow Boat II best Chinese in Caleta. Would recommend hiring a car to explore the island. Water park a must if you have got young children."

Returned a week ago from the Villa Flori...
"Returned a week ago from the Villa Florida Apartments. First of all, the staff are very friendly and helpful, however, what they failed to point out is that room 280 is a prime target for thieves, as we found out when we woke one morning, to find that we had been burgled whilst we were sleeping. Aparantly, it had also been targeted two weeks before.
Everyone we spoke to knew someone who had had something stolen from them. One gentleman was sunbathing around the pool, looked up, and saw someone in his room that should not have been there.
So be very, very careful, it appears to be a paradise for thieves, keep everything in your safe, even when sleeping.
Apart from that, the actual resort was ok. Lots of restaurants, the steak house is the best ever on the main road. Never tasted such tender steak and they cook it in front of you.
The beach is a disspointment. The sand is mixed with stones, which hurt as you walk along, and the sea is quite rocky. It is a must to hire a sunbed on the beach, as it protects you from the sand blowing into your eyes. Sunbeds are 3 euros each, plus 3 euros for the umberella. they come in pairs, so it will cost you 9 euros every time you go to the beach.
Went to Jandia for the day, wow, that is a different world, and if ever I went back to Fuerterventura, then I would stay there. Beach is fantastic and much busier resort. Lots of Germans, swedish, italians etc, which generally means the standard is much higher.
Red Lion Bar at apartments is lovely, the people are very very friendly and do the best burger ever. Very juicy. Definately eat there.
Well, all in all to sum the holiday up, it was nice, but thats all. Nothing wow, but nothing really bad, apart from the thieves. "

"My boyfriend and I went for 10 days to Costa Caleta, the apartments are cleaned well and the resort is well looked after. The people are kind and there are more than enough places to eat whilst your are there. The Red Lion bar by the pool is a very friendly place to visit, good food also! Would recommend you take your own towels as the ones provided in the apartments do smell abit off putting!
Overall, it is a lovely place to visit!"

"Went to this Resort as a last minute booking, was very pleased, rooms spacious and clean, towels changed every day. Pool area clean and no problem getting a sun bed.
Staff helpful, beaches very nice. This resort is very peaceful but with just enough going on.
Legends bar a must, also the Lunch Box where Karen makes a lovely sandwich on fresh uncut bread to take to the beach.
All in all we had a great time here and would definetly go again.

Just come back from our first holiday to...
"Just come back from our first holiday to Fueretventura. We had a really fantastic time and would definitely go back. The Villa Florida appartments are spacious and clean (although we did have 2 apartments as there are 5 of us). I read some reviews about the towels not being up to much - smelly etc ; they were clean, but yes did smell a little fusty (we left them outside to air which helped). We did keep getting quite a bad smell in the bathroom from the drains, so would recommend buying some bleach from the supermarket when you get there. We found keeping the plugs in helped a llittle. Also, the walls are thin, we could hear our neighbours mobile phone ring every morning at 6.30 and their nocturnal habits (we told our youngest it was their children jumping on the bed!) The maid service was great the first week, but not so good the second when it got busier. The pool and surrounding areas were always clean and well maintained, with enough sunloungers to go around. The staff were polite and helpful too.
Caleta de Fuste is really great; plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Fado Rock and The Wild West. When you go to either of these you're likely to get complimentary snacks, sangria and after dinner drink (rum/brandy/baileys etc). The staff at Wild West are great fun and make everyone feel welcome. We went to the chinese buffet but wouldn't recommend it! The food isn't kept warm enough, the choice isn't the same as on the board outside and the drinks prices are crazy. We paid 13 euro for 3 kids drinks!
The beaches are beautiful and clean and if you walk along the coast for 15 minutes towards the Commercial Centre the beaches are stunning!
A great day out is the Oasis Park at La Lajita - It cost us around 150 euro for 5 of us. That included the coach, drink and snack on arrival, a very late but superb buffet lunch, 4 shows and camel safari plus a great guide.
It's also well worth hiring a car (very cheap) and driving to the sand dunes at Carralejo, the drive along the coast itself is well worth doing, but the sand dunes are an amazing sight. Our kids loved running up them and rolly-pollying back down.
All in all we had a really fantastic holiday, lots of sunshine and happy memories!

We were at the Villa Florida for new yea...
"We were at the Villa Florida for new year and I must say that it was better than I expected as we had heard some pretty awful reviews. We were told to take our own towels, which we did, as people said theirs smelt musty, this was not the case but they were a little old, but very clean.
Then we heard that the apartments were dirty, well I can honestly say our apartment was spotless and the maid came in 6 out of 7 days moping and cleaning etc. The apartment was quite a good size but the beds are not built for comfort they are hard. We had a large living area come dining area the bathroom was a bit on the small side but adequate. The pool area was very clean but it was a shame the Red Lion is now closed due to lack of trade.
We were out all the time going in different bar's and restaurants. The best breakfast you will get is at the "sportsman" it is great and not greasy. I must say that the second best for breakfast is the "Trafalgar" and whats more that is the best place to have your evening meals. The chicken curry their is fantastic and so is the home made steak and ale pie. Wayne who runs it is such a laugh and if he is right in the head then I know where they're is an house full, he makes the place.
If it is Chinese food you are looking for then look know further than the slow boat 2. They are so friendly and can't do enough for you, the food is second to none but the hot and sour soup isn't what I'm used to. We were their a couple of times. What ever you do, DO NOT go to the Chinese buffet over the road as they keep warming the food up and a few people had dickey tummies. You cannot miss the slow boat 2 as it is next door to the Villa Florida apartments, give it a try.
If you walk down to the harbour then go as far as you can and you will see a bar called the "penalty spot" if you sit outside it is a sun trap and I burnt while having a couple of beers, we had a sandwich their which was very nice so it maybe somewhere to sit and watch the world go by when you want complete relaxation.
All in all it was a fantastic holiday we were fully relaxed by the time we got home and we will be going again as soon as possible."
