"The Hotel Jazz is a beautiful and very accessible hotel in Barcelona. Extremely clean, Comfortable bed, very large bathroom. Our room was quiet. The hotel bar was usually quite busy, with a great atmosphere. A really nice feel with friendly staff. The staff all spoke English well. We would most definitely stay there again and highly recommend it! It was a great choice and a great price."

"This hotel is perfect for a weekend break which is what I visited for. This is our second time staying in this hotel we liked it so much last year we came back.. After reading previous reports i was worried about rude staff but I cannot fault anything. The hotel is extremely close to the Ramblas and also to Paseo de Gracia and Avenida Diagnol, all your designer shops!! There is a subway nearby too and a short walk to the marina, excellent location!! The hotel itself is modern, flat screen TV in the room and a huge bed!! Extremely clean in the hotel and rooms. Maids came every morning. The staff could not do enough for you especially the reception desk. There is a small breakfast place in the hotel but quite pricey for 15 euros. But loadsa restaurants nearby. Would definitely return again!"

Great Hotel. Great Location.
"The Hotel Jazz is a modern, chic hotel in a really good central location, only a short walk from Placa Catalunya and The Rambles. There were 16 in our party and all were impressed by the hotel and the staff. Sometimes a large party can cause confusion but the staff were both friendly and efficient and had our rooms ready for us when we arrived at 11am. The bedrooms were excellent with the most comfortable large beds. Our room had a door which opened over the street so we could take in the Barcelona atmosphere and Christmas lights. Breakfast is till 11 so their's no need to rush, but who wants to sleep in such a vibrant city. We paid 100 euros a night for a double room (£68 approx.) really good value. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona."

"We've stayed at various hotels in BCN over the years, but the Jazz really stood out for us. We were skeptical bacause we only payed US124/night, but we were pretty blown away by what we got for the money. It's a new, sleek, and clean "design" hotel, but entirely without the design hotel attitude that you would find in big cities. The staff were just great to us (and bilingual). The room had a very cool flat-screen TV with lots of channels, the bathroom design was very modern, in room safe, extra blankets, a huge selection of toiletries in the bathroom, and a balcony with a pretty good view. But what we enjoyed the most was the location. As you've read in previous reviews, the hotel is basically a few blocks (2 mins. walk) from the Plaza Catalunya metro stop, yet on a pretty quiet (cf. with the Ramblas) street. Also with respect to some previous reviews, we didn't hear a peep from any of our neighbors the entire time, so there were no noise issues for us whatsoever."

"We loved the Jazz, stayed there for two nights November 10 and 11, 2004. Excellent central location, great modern, functional bedroom overlooking busy street, but no street sounds when window closed. The Jazz provided us with a great breakfast. Checkin and checkout were troublefree, staff very helpful. We'd not hesitate to use the Jazz again, or to recommend it to friends. We had learnt about the Jazz from its Trip Adviser rating. It earned its high rating, in our minds!"

Great Barcelona break
"We spent four nights in the Jazz hotel from Nov. 16 to 19. A lovely hotel - friendly staff, great location, beautiful decor, comfortable bed, grand bathroom. Breakfast was not included in room price, but it was a fine breakfast, so we couldn't complain. Highly recommended. Phil Young"

There is no noise problem; great hotel
"I am writing from the hotel's free internet computer (1 of 2 available), right now. Great hotel. Good price through Expedia. There is no noise problem. Yes, you can feel a very slight vibration on the 1st and 2nd floor, but it disappears once you reach the 3rd floor. No big deal. Great location near the Ramblas. Don't take a taxi from the airport; our guy couldn't figure out how to avoid the pedestrian Ramblas zone, and had to circle around. Take the airport bus, and walk maybe 3 to 5 minutes to the hotel. Very modern. Someone said it felt like a W; I agree. One little trick; you have to leave your room keycard in a little slot just inside the door to use electricity! I guess that's a good way to keep electricity bills down."

last reviewer must have fallen out with his wife!?
"I've just returned from 3 nights at the Jazz and couldn't disagree more. My room was excellent (on 5th floor) and suffered from no noise at all - and the trains were running, I used them every day. I would put this hotel at the highest end of value for money hotels I've ever stayed in and I take around 5 holidays a year. Do not be put off - it's cool, clean, comfortable, central and excellent. Oh and the little tapas bar opposite (on Pelayo - called something d'Or) was great for breakfast and lunch-time tapas - just watching Barcelona life go by. I'll be back."

NO SLEEP AT THE JAZZ
"WHAT A NOISE!.... Just returned after spending two nights from 21 to 23rd October 04 at the Jazz. After reading the great reviews for this hotel i was not dissappointed with the good standard of room etc, however, when we went to bed on our first night, WHAT A NOISE! . We first thought it was the sound of the lift going up and down. The noise seemed to be every 10 mins or so and vibrated the room. We changed rooms to the second floor, but the extreme noise continued. The next morning we spoke with the manager and discovered that the noise was from the MET UNDERGROUND TRAINS! . The manager did not offer any apology for our lack of sleep. We did move rooms again to the seventh floor, but every seven minutes the same noise shook the hotel. This needs to be mentioned to guests prior to booking this hotel. I would suggest that you take some ear plugs if you intend staying here!"

"After reading reviews booked hotel. What an excellent choice. Rooms excellent. Bed very large!! Buffet breakfast an excellent way to start day. Tea not too good though. Obviously not heard of PG tips. Sun terrace on roof an excellent idea after a long day treking round city. Do take coloured bus routes when legs are tired. Very good way to see city."

"We stayed for 2 nights in the Jazz and talk about being in the centre of things! The hotel has such a great location right in the centre of Barcelona, close to La Ramblas & Placa Catalyuna (where the Airport bus leaves you & where you can pick up the city sightseeing bus which is a must and covers all the popular sights), lots of good bars (Scobies is a quaint little Irish pub down the street with friendly informative bar men) and a fantastic selection of restaurants (great Tapas can be found at Ciutat Condial). It was a great place to explore Barcelona & all its little side streets from. The Hotel itself is quite trendy, with plasma TV screens and a very subdued colour system. The breakfast buffet is worth making the effort to get up for - what a spread! The rooftop pool is quiet and sun loungers are available. Overall it was very clean, quiet & staff were friendly & helpful. Very well recommended!"

Excellent hotel in an excellent location
"Fantastic hotel. Rooms are of a good size, comfy beds, very effective and quite air conditioning, flat screen tv, piped music that can be turned off and a most wonderful bathroom, with the best shower I have ever had in a hotel. The pool is fairly small but a great extra for a city hotel and all the staff where very polite and helpful. The location is great just a few minutes walk from the top of Las Ramblas and the Plaza Catalunya where the Cafe Zurich is a great place for a drink and to people watch. Don't forget to try the bus trips around the city, definately the best way to see the major sites."
