Hopefully back next year.
"Just back from our second visit to the Xaloc Playa and could fault quality of the service and cleanliness .The friendly and efficient staff do more than expected of a "three star" hotel.Location is just off the beach ."

Fantastically clean and friendly hotel
"Myself, my partner, our children (aged 2 and 12) and my mum visited hotel Xaloc in May half term this year. Even though the hotel is only 3 star, we had a fantastic stay. The hotel is very clean, the staff very welcoming, a good variety of food is available on the buffet and the pool bar serves good food at reasonable prices. The hotel is perfectly situated, very close to the beach and the shops. Punta Prima, though not very picturesque, is a great base for seeing the Island by bus or hire car, or, as we did, spending most of the time by the pool! Sun beds were always available and the pool never got crowded, so we could easily relax knowing the children were safe. The hotel itself is very quiet, with entertainment provided only a couple of evenings a week. There arent any childrens clubs but the children were more than happy! So if you're looking for a relaxing holiday, in a quiet resort, then this is the place to go. We enjoyed it so much we are going back in August for 10 nights. Can't wait!!"

Returning for 5th time in June
"We always enjoy ourselfs at the Xaloc, 2 weeks every year for the past 5 ! It is a very clean, friendly although basic hotel, good value for the money. Punta Prima is delightful small resort, spoilt only by one thing....the price, condition and availability of the sunbeds on the beach, it would be nice at our age to be able to relax in comfort occasionaly. Unfortunately San Lois council, who own them, don't care about the visitors, so hardly anyone ever uses them. "

good, but could do better
"Everything good that has been said in other reviews is true, the hotel is very nice, clean with friendly staff. But there are two items which appear on the description of the hotel that are not true. 1. There are no lifts. 2. There is no money exchange ( this has to be done at the local supermarket ) Apart from these I would recommend this hotel to anyone with children. The beach is within 50 M of the hotel and, apart from some nuisance seaweed, is a very nice beach. The food in the hotel is very well cooked and served and consists of good 'basic' cooking, and is very nice. "

"Myself and my partner Phil went here for the 1st time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hotel was very clean, fresh towels everyday, food excellent, staff friendly and only a stone throw from the beach. Met some lovely people from all over. We hired a car for few days and explored the island and found some amazing beaches, went to the zoo and to different towns/cities on the island. We also went on the Catamaran in Mahon and got a commentated tour around the bay. Only downsides of holiday were not enough entertainment and no air con in rooms. Thanks for fantastic holiday! Mandy & Phil "

Great relaxing holiday
"We stayed at the Xaloc hotel on the recommendation of the reviews on this site and we weren't dissapointed. It was quiet and relaxing ,we could always get a lounger at the pool no matter what time we went down which is a rare thing on holiday.Spent most days at the beach which is really clean and not too busy. The food in the the hotel was great and there was good. The local restaurants were great too, lots of nice fish!. The bus to mahon only takes 25 mins and is worth going if you get itchy feet, we also walked to cala d'Alcaufar and S'Algar. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday this is for you there are no clubs or noisy bars in the resort so if that's what your after I'd give it a miss. "

Loved the cat
"We stayed for 2 weeks and arrived after a three & qtr hour delay at about 12.45 past midnight , we had room no 10 on ground floor and were between pool and crazy golf and got the sun most of the day. We had very good weather considering it was nearing the end of October, one bad rainy day and 2 cloudy days, otherwise the other days were sunny & warm enough to go in swimming pool and laze about on the sun loungers. The room was very clean, towels changed everyday, soaps shampoo, comb & shower hat provided. Bed linen changed regularly. The grounds were very well kept. We thought the food was great, the breakfast and evening meal excellent, the chef was always coming out bringing fresh food and checking that everything was OK, the head waiter was one of the nicest people you could meet , all the staff were great and this is what makes this hotel. The ginger & white cat was a real character the gardner used to shoo him off, but the children loved him, they used to go looking for him in the morning & he was so good with them not a vicious bone in his body and when any body played the crazy golf he was hilarious! he would run after the ball, put his paw down the hole & try & get ball out. We had a lovely relaxing time there."

"When the hotel found out we have come back to visit them a bottle of red wine was left in the room for us, what a nice surprise. Although we came back, my second time and my boyfriends third, the hotel rooms are average, all are clean but definitly need a re-furb. Great for the older couple and the hotel is dominated by them. Hotel is quiet and entertainment is some - what limited no entertainment on a Saturday or Tuesday night either. They do not cater for children what-so-ever so not ideal for families. If you have children and you are staying here take them to the near by insotel club for some livlier entertainment, but beware the drinks are quite expensive here 7 euros for an apple juice!!! Staff are more than welcoming. Also make sure if you want a sun bed you get one early because people are out putting towels on them at 6am!! Pool is fab!! the best part about the xaloc!! and the crazy golf is free so worth doing. They also have a little games area with pool and air hockey. Pool bar is great and drinks are quite cheap and it's open until 12am. I have to say the worst part about the xaloc is the breakfast, very limited, always the same, mainly cater for germans e.c.t but drinks are free at breakfast. Dinner is somewhat better always a selection of different meat, fish and potatoes salad bar e.c.t. and changes every night and always a selection of cakes, fruit or ice-cream for desert. As for location its a few steps away from the gorgeous beach, though the sea can be rough at times and punta prima is known for this. Punta Prima is a small but nice resort and just a few minutes bus ride to the capitol mahon where you can access the whole of the island from here. I would recommend it to older couples although i don't think we will be going back."

My 13yr old daughter and I had a fantast...
"My 13yr old daughter and I had a fantastic holiday at the Xaloc Playa Hotel in July and will definately be going again. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were super and the food was excellent. We couldn't fault it at all. Our bedroom was on the first floor overlooking the gardens and all we could hear were the birds singing. The beach is only a 30 second walk away and is beautiful - I've never seen such white sand and clear blue water anywhere else in Europe. We thought Punta Prima was lovely; quiet and not touristy at all, in fact it felt very Spanish. The bus to Mahon left hourly from right next to the hotel, and from Mahon you can get all over the island very easily. We loved Mahon; do go on the boat trip around the harbour, it's the second largest natural one in the world. The road train from Punta Prima to Binibeca was great too. You can get off the train at Binibeca beach and catch it back again later. Our First Choice rep, Helen, was was really friendly and very helpful. We went on one island trip as we didn't hire a car and had a super day. If its the nightlife you want then this is probably not the place for you but it certainly ticked all the right boxes for us - quiet and relaxing. See you next year Xaloc Playa."

This was my first holiday abroad and was...
"This was my first holiday abroad and was extremely nervous. We were greeted at Mahon airport by a very friendly rep who showed us to our transfer coach and gave us a guided tour to our hotel. On arrival at our hotel we were met by a very friendly receptionist named Sandy. We could not get to our apartment straight away but were told to use the pool and other facilities. After 30 mins we were told what apartment we would be in. The apartment was fab, clean towels and bedding were brought in every day by the friendly cleaners. We had this holiday as an early honeymoon and enjoyed it so much we have already booked to return next year. I would give this out of 10 an easy 11. "
