"Recently returned from this lovely hotel after spending ten days all inclusive. We were a couple wanting a quiet break with sun and sea. Weather was hot just as we liked. The staff at the Barcelo were amongst the friendliest we have ever met. The rooms were cleaned daily, the entertainment was enjoyable you could take part or not as you wished. We enjoyed a yoga class and Nordic walking even though it was our first time. The staff taking the classes were very good. There were a vast variety of food available every day and the times of meals did not seem restricting although there were set times. We visited the beach which was a short walk from the hotel, and also took the bus into Mahon a couple of times. British holidaymakers were at a minimum but the ones there seem to enjoy peace and quiet. I do not normally go to the same destinations for summer breaks but would be happy to visit this hotel again and again."

Barcelo Pueblo .Punta Prima. Menorca
"Very clean room and hotel, well run and in a wonderful location. My wife and I took a four day break here in September 2012 .On all inclusive,we found the service and the food very good.( If you want chips tasting like home, don't bother going abroad on holiday. There is a very good choice here.)The staff very helpful and good with English.Mix of all nationalities staying here.Regular buses outside the hotel to Mahon and wonderful sandy beach 300 yards walk from Hotel. In September, quiet area of Menorca and we loved it.Plenty of walks along the coast.Would go back to this Hotel without question, but book a high floor bedroom to get the view.Barcelo Hotels do seem to give you very good value for money and this one was excellent.Built as 5 or 6 blocks with a central pool and very private and secure. We have now booked again at a Barcelo Hotel for our next break."

Almost all good but for one serious issueâ¦â¦)
"(Almost all good but for one serious issueâ¦â¦)My wife and our 5 year old twins had seven nights here. Firstly we liked the short transfer from the airport and the check-in was a smooth and welcoming process. The hotel is very clean and well presented. The rooms here are modern air-conditioned and well equipped, we had two linked rooms so we all had proper beds and two bathrooms (one had bath/shower the other had double shower). Unfortunately we were next to the maids storeroom and this woke us up at 6.30 most mornings, there was also a lot of shoe, chair and bed noise from the room above as an inherent result of concrete construction and tiled floors. I guess a quiet room is luck of the draw wherever you go, even though we specifically asked for a quiet room. The reception and bar staff were all pleasant and polite and the entertainment crew were excellent, enthusiastic and really hard working. They provide all the usual sport and leisure activities throughout the day and all seemed to run smoothly. There are two pools in the main square, one half the size of the other and all with sun beds in a mixture of sunny and palm tree shaded areas (no parasols other than a row of fixed ones by the big pool) Itâs worth pointing out that the music around the large pool was quite loud most of the time and there werenât any secluded areas. We were pleased that there was no need to do the mad rush to reserve your sunbed as there was just the right number available. We went for the All Inc option and it worked out well for us particularly as the children could choose and try whatever they wanted. There was a fair enough selection of all the usual buffet food and everything was well presented, clean and smoothly run although I must say if we were staying for more than a week weâd try some of the local restaurants just down the road by the beach to add some variety. The AI wine is Rioja in either white red or rosé and back in the UK would cost about £5.99 per bottle. The evening entertainment was quite a high standard and comprised Michael Jackson tribute, various dance, acrobat/gymnasts, mock Grammy awards show etc and every night starts with a clown hosted mini disco. Apparently the Spa has excellent facilities but as these all have to be paid for as extras we didnât indulge. We didnât venture into the modern capital Mahon (Maó) although is only a short bus trip away so canât comment on that although apparently itâs the destination for leather and boutique fashion stores etc. The local beach is quite nice but very crowded during our week (Aug 19-26). I wouldnât rate Punta Prima as a top Menorca beach destination, there are many better resorts if the beach is your thing. For us we were more interested with the childrenâs pools and the splash pool in particular is excellent although itâs located the other side of the car park and tennis courts. There is another small pool there too and another bar but food and drinks there are chargeable even if you are AI because these facilities are open to the public. Thereâs an outside public soft-floor playground there too with all the usual equipment. The demographic during our week was about 60% Italian 20% Spanish 20% British and a mixture of couples and young families. Now, hereâs my gripe. The two swimming pools are both edged with regular bathroom tiles and are obviously very slippery. Both our children slipped over and we witnessed both children and adults fall over every day. This wasnât enough to stop us using it with great care but left us feeling quite uncomfortable just waiting for the next accident. Overall we had a really good holiday and itâs a well-run and equipped hotel, just a real shame about the ridiculous choice of pool tiles. "

"Have just returned from two weeks at this hotel, staying on an all inclusive basis. Can not fault the food, staff, facilities, entertainment or surroundings. The only complaint i would give was the beds were too hard, did not get used to them despite having firm bed at home. Very child friendly."

"i thought the hotel was brilliant it was really relaxing the accomidation was amazing and i would recomend this hotel to anybody. the entertainment crew involve everybody there are 2 clubs the scimpa club which is for younger children or the maxi club which is for the bit older children which goes up to 12. theres is a teens club with lots of activities like archery rifle shooting football volleyball minigolf and the younger children can take part in these activities. there are two pools and a fitness room and a spa. the hotel is very lively. the entertainment is also very good and the entertainment team try there best to satisfy all. the only downfall is there is'nt a lot to do outside the hotel but the beach is lovely. anyone with younger children would find this resort fantastic."

"An excellent holiday. The hotel is modern and well maintained. The rooms are excellent and the restaurants and clean. The variety and quality of food in the restaurants is excellent. The resort is very quiet and ideal for young families. There is little for older children to do. There are plenty of play parks in the resort. The kids club at the hotel runs a range of activities that keep the kids happy. The swimming pools do not have lifeguards and the water is deep."

"First impressions were not good. The lift to our room smelt like a Salford tower block. We didn't unpack the first night as I thought we would be asking for a move. The rooms are small and basic, but clean. The following morning things were better and we decided to give the Hotel a chance. The Pools are ok, but could do with a proper clean, there's algae on the concrete above the tiles. Lots of sunbeds, but these get reserved earlyish. Restaurant was excellent, lots of choice at every meal, plenty of good quality fish and meat dishes, lots of salads, daily regional specialities, decent choice for young children. The restaurant staff are all friendly and hard working, as are the bar staff, no queues for drink at any time. The entertainment staff are very friendly and work hard to provide a varied program during the day. Night time entertainment is ok, with acts brought in on several nights. We ended up having a really good holiday and I'm glad that I did not act on my first impression. Not many brits at the hotel, but those we spoke to seemed to enjoy the place too."

"Having booked a holiday for myself, my husband, my son, his wife and three children at this hotel I decided a few days before going there to read the reviews given by other holiday makers on this site and I must admit I was horrified by most of them. I really wondered what I had let us all in for. However, I have to say that we all had a terrific holiday. We went out to Menorca on 13th August 2007. We found everyone on Reception very friendly and helpful. Bar staff were fine, not as friendly as in some places we have been to, but certainly no complaints about them. We were fortunate enough to have two family rooms, which were quite adequate, though I have to admit the ordinary rooms were very small, but then hopefully you don't spend all your time in your room. The rooms were clean and the staff looking after them always pleasant and friendly. As for the dining room and meals, we certainly had no complaints there, the choice of food was amazing, and yes sometimes it wasn't as hot as it might have been, but when you are feeding people in such large numbers it must be very difficult to keep everything piping hot all the time. As for the Animation Team I don't think we have ever seen a team who are so professional and so in tune with each other, we thoroughly enjoyed there performances in the evenings and their company during the daytime, never were we made to feel unwelcome because we were English and not Spanish or Italian. I noticed in one review that someone complained that the majority of holiday makers in this hotel were Spanish or Italian, but what did they expect. If you go abroad you are likely to meet foreigners. I wouldn't think that Spaniards or Italians going to Scotland or Wales would be surprised to find they had to mix with the Scots or the Welsh or even a few English. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Hotel and would recommend it to anyone. "

A very nice surprise!
"After reading the other reviews for this hotel on this website. we were a little relunctant as to what to expect when we arrived. The hotel is just 25 minutes drive from the airport and the reception area light and airy. The reception staff spoke alittle engilsh but the info leaflet that we were given was all in Spanish! The pools were cleaned daily as was the poolside area. As usual, you had to be up early to get a sun lounger before they all had towels on them, but I now believe that that is the norm wherever you go. The room was ok as far as hotle rooms go. We had a family room with a seperate bedroon with plenty of wardrobe space and a spacious bathroom, which delivered a very good shower. The balcony couldve been a little bigger but just small moan. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels every day. The food catered for everybody and was differnt every day in the evenings although there was always the same sort of things too such as pasta, chips salds etc but it was all delicious as we tried everything I believe. We went all inclusive and there was drinks on tap all day and unlimited ice creams for the children. The beach was a 5 minute walk but very small compared to the photos we had seen in the brochure. The sea was warm but very seaweedy so we stayed by the pool every day. There is entertainment and activities should you want to join in, volleyball, waterpolo, mini golf etc but the evening entertainment needed a bit to be desired but come the evening we were tired anyway! All the entertainment stopped at 11pm so the noise didnt drag on for too long as the rooms were quite close to the pools and enertainment area. The only gripe I have about this hotel is the lack of air conditioning. It got very warm in the evenings and you had to sleep with the balcony door open. Apart from that it was a lovely break with fabulous weather and would definatley return."

"Excellent hotel with very good facilities. Evening entertainment is poor. Food is very good with a wide variety of dishes. All inclusive is excellent value, bar staff are good. The resort is very small and quiet but lots of things for small kids to do. The resort was busy with young families from different nations. Excellent holiday would recommend to anyone with little kids looking for good value and quiet resort."
