"We stayed in the Biniforcat Apartments which are opposite the Los Lentiscos and are part of the same hotel group. We had a 2 bed apartment (no.36) which was spacious and clean. The Los Lentiscos was a lovely apartment complex which had lots of great things to do and was managed by Simon (entertainments manager). He organised lots of daily activities around the pool and also the night entertainment. He was utterly charming and a lovely bloke who was adored by all the kids and parents alike! The Los Lentiscos is barely a 5 min walk into the centre of Cala n forcat and is also near the very small beaches. I would highly recommend the apartments which we thought were good value and close to all the action. Only one slight niggle is that some of the Los Lentiscos apartments are very close to the bar and this could be a problem if you have small children. However there were no problems with late night noise as most of the entertainment was only on til 11pm."

Will be going back
"We returned today from Los Lentiscos and had a wonderful time. Four of us stayed in a one bedroomed apartment (32, 31, 9, 6) and there was space for all of us in the apartment.
There was no air conditioning which I was worried about, but we did have a fan which kept us cool. The windows have shutters so we left out windows wide open for the whole 12 days that we were there. As people were walking back to their apartment, we were sometimes woken in the night, but soon got to sleep again. It sounded like they were in the room with us so you might want to shut your windows if you are not a heavy sleeper.
We didn't like the fact there is no safety deposit box in the room, instead they are by the reception desk and are very small. We soon got used to it though and it certainly didn't stop us enjoying our stay at these apartments. We paid 2 euros per day plus 6 euros deposit for the box
There are 2 swimming pools. The main one has a daily water volley ball competition run daily by Simon. Its played by the small pool so doesn't stop people enjoying the rest of the pool.
Some days we didn't go down to the pool until 11am and there were still sunbeds available, even a parasol or two.
The quieter pool is lovely. Much small but also much quieter so we liked to spend our time there.
Lots of shops and restaurants to eat in. Most have things to keep the kids amused. We liked it in the Tropical Kiss bar (opposite Domingo Plaza/Square) But, beware if you sit at the table on the left as you go in. They have a hidden pretend spider that they like to drop on unsuspecting drinkers. I didn't get caught, only because I liked the comfy chairs inside!
The coves are very nice. I hate fish but I did have a go at snorkeling enjoyed it. On our last day, my kids said they saw a jelly fish, I don't know if they did but I later heard that someone had been stung by one so maybe they did?
We also took the bus to Cuitedella. Lovely bus, much better that at home in London. It cost us 1.45euros each and took about 20 minutes to get there."

Very Very Basic Hotel
"Just returned from 10 days in Los Lentiscos and must say had a nice break due to the weather and relaxation but this was not due to Los Lentiscos itself. This place is the most basic accommodation I have ever stayed in, the rooms had no air-conditioning and where unbearable in the nights, the maid came once with fresh towells and bedding in the 10days we were there. The swimming pool was okay if you wanted to get up at 6.30am for a sunbed and all the apartments in this hotel that were around the pool were actually taking their beds/parasols into their apartments in the nights - unbelievable!!! The beach is a lovely little cover nearby but not big enought to sit on and gets incredibly busy, also jellyfish are in swarms there, lots of people were getting stung. All in all we had a nice relaxing break in the sun but not due to Los Lentiscos! Got to say the entertainment was very poor although the entertainment manager (called Manager although it was only him and he had noone to manage) Simon was fab, had nothing to work with, no budget at all but always had us in giggles around the pool, evening entertainment consisted of him organising giant jenga etc, no shows or anything!! Would not go back to this hotel and would not recommend it, have been to much nicer places in Menorca for the same price."

"The complex was not that busy although the pool was inviting. The Thomas Cook reps did their best to keep the kids occupied. Even although we didn't book through Thomas Cook! :)
Weather fantastic. We had a hire car and had a good look around the island. Lots of beautiful villas, think we'll go for that next time.
Unfortunately was rear ended by some Spanish driver as I pulled into a filling station. The police were very helpful although they couldn't understand much of what I was saying. Car hire company replaced the car & no excess charged!"

Great time at Los Lentiscos
"We have just returned from a 2 week stay in Los Lentiscos and have had a really good holiday. As two families we had 4 children in total aged 16,13,8 & 6 years.
You get what you pay for - the rooms are basic but well equipped and very clean when we arrived. It was very hot during our stay but had 2 fans so it was OK, would have been unbearable without them. The rooms are a little cramped with 4 people in them, but if you are tidy - its not too bad! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Simon and Stacey were the entertainment team and they were excellent - really looked after you and made our stay even better.
Or room was not cleaned, nor the towels changed for the first 5 days, but once we reported this to reception it was done immediately and again every two days afterwards. I would not recommend eating at the snack bar at the apts as I felt the food wasn't up to much and was very expensive. We made our own snacks and drank our own drinks around the pool which wasn't a problem. The pool was never crowded, but you did have to get up early for a sunbed and an unberella. It was a little noisy if your room overlooked the main pool, but not too bad.
Calan Forcat was a nice enough resort - not really ideal for us as we love the beach and whilst the little coves here are very pretty, you couldn't really spend the day on them - no facilities, very small - plus there was hundreds of jelly fish on the 1st week, but none on the second! The restaurants were OK - some tacky bars catering for the Brits, we found a few nice ones but preferred to travel on the bus into Cuitadellla in the evening (1.40 Euro each) and have a walk around as it is lovely - although expensive to eat here.
We hired a car for 7 days and found some stunning beaches - our favourite being Mitjana (Near Cala Galdana) which we stayed on until the sun went down as it was so relaxing and the kids loved the sea which was crystal clear and warm with some great waves for playing in! We also liked Cala Galdana beach although it was quite busy but if you go to the furthest point from the resort the sea is beautifully clean and the sand is lovely and soft, plus it was much quieter.
We also went to the horse showat Son Martorellet which was really good and our children aged 8 & 6 had a great time.
We would definately return to Menorca again but would probably not stay in Calan Forcat - not because there was anything wrong with it, nor Los Lentiscos which we couldn't really fault, but we would probably stay at Cala Galdana and would definately hire a car for the whole 2 weeks and not bother with booking transfers this time as it is so easy to get around and there is a lot to see on the island which is beautiful."

Good Location, good base, clean but basic.
"We have stayed here 3 times. It is a basic but a clean apartment, It is quite old style entertainment: music in the day, water volley and football. Fine to just relax by the pool with a book. It has a supermarket on site and a laundry room. We ate out every night so I can't comment on the food in the evenings but the lunches were fine when we ate there.
We come here mainly because we love Cala n Forcat. It is so good for kids up to 10 years old. This apartment is at the top of a fork road easy access to buses and walking distance to restaurants/bars. There are a few hidden coves which are beautiful. Calm clear water, perfect for young children.
We always enjoy our meals here to, most restaurants have freshly cooked meals and lovely pizzas especially. The best breakfast is the restaurant with the parrot in it!
Most bars have an outdoor childrens play area and you can see your kids whilst you sit and have a drink, then there is a square where the Jimmy Hill bar is which has singers and lovely comfortable wicker chairs to relax in.
There is also a small Aqua Park which is a reasonable priced good day out.
We got a bus to Ciutadella for lunch at the Marina. It is a lovely old town with cobbled streets, designer shops and good restaurants. A taxi here is cheap to.
We also got a hire car out and travelled around, if you see the Lladro (pottery) building go in as through the shop to the back is a pool and lots of play things and climbing frames for the kids and best of all its all free! If you are going to this hotel you won't be disappointed especially if you have young children and are using it as a base. I wouldn't recommend this holiday for couples or singles as it is mainly young familes."

Just got back work on Tusday (bugger it!)
"Hello my boyfriend and I just got back from Menorca and loved it were both in our early twenties. Just some tips to help you along the way. When we arrived in the airport there is no smoking and there is none available to buy so if your like me and didn't want to spend that extra 2 quid on cigs in the uk then make sure you have a trusty fag on you as it usually an hour transfer from the airport, also the fags are only available from a tabac shop or a machine in a bar. This shop is not open sundays anyway enough about cigs. cala'n forcat is great its a strip of bars and restaurant. food is cheap if you want it to be the restaurants we recommend are Haiti - you must try the bread with alioli and the mushrooms with mozarella, also a trip to daisy's the guy on the door is so funny loves peter kay and is great with kids, breakfast only 4 eurog's, also a mexican burger steak house place on the corner next to daisys try a Charro its lovely and not to forget castaways mean burgers. Drinks we tended to go to the bar opposite daisys which was good value and the shopping bar is good just be careful with premium bottles (bulmers 6 Euro) there is also an English restaurants just passed the arch serving real english food and soaps on the tele. the staff werent as nice as I thought. We went to the water park but bit rubbish only 4 main sides and two small ones, also the reastaurant is nice good value. we hired a car and went to Cala Galdana its amazing and managed to get parked away from everyone else as it was packed two mins from a slip way straight to the beach. The hotel i advise you to take some pasta stir ins as the room is quite basic and a tin opener there was one but we couldnt figure it out. I was scared as we were on the bottom floor first room from reception number 15 it was so noisy. pool is great beds changed in the middle of a 10 day stay, towels clean every 3 days, if you run out of toilet roll just ask at reception. at the pool loads of people drank there own drink and ate own food. dont buy drinks and fags at the airport as its about 5 euro's more for all, but don't get fleeced on you baggage allowence with all the laws about liquids it has to go in you bag unless bought as the airport. the lady rep shelia i think is lovely games at the pool if you want but no pressure. have a great hols hope this helps xxx"

"The island of Menorca is lovely with a rugged coastline very much like Cornwall, ideal place to rock climb.Cala n Forcat is a fairly quiet place, there is limited things to do for older children unless you enjoy country walks and admiring the scenery as we did.The hotel was very nice with an easy-going attitude, very clean with an excellent pool and eating area that was in-expensive,the apartments are spacious and clean with a nice balcony,a suggestion is that if you dont want to use the club facilities and want a nice view then request a sea-view and you will be placed on the other side of the complex where the view is stunning !!.There is a launderette on site and plenty of places to shop.Thge local restaurants are cheap with lovely food, best place to eat is "Maxis Snack Bar" which is opposite "Los Lentiscos" and is on the edge of the cliff so you have beautiful views whilst eating !! well worth visiting !.Wonderful weather and an enjoyable holiday,as a single parent i felt safe there with my children and we had many a pleasant evening walk."

Quiet cheap break in basic accomodation, Good base for touring.
"I went to these apartments on a last minute break with my husband in August 2006. We were in a ground floor room with a terrace overlooking the large pool . There was plenty of space. You get what you pay for and this was a cheap week away with few frills. The apartments are very basic and could do with a refurbishment and a really good clean. The handle on the main door dropped off and we couldn't lock the apartment, while we were there but they came to sort it out within 20 minutes. The maid service is twice a week. You will need cleaning cloths as none were provided. There were lots of families and grandpaparents there with children and it seemed a fairly safe complex for a cheap holiday. It is in need of a comfortable seating area. The entertainment team were energetic and engaged the kids. It was a good base as we hired a car and toured the beautiful Island. Mahon is good for shopping and Cuitaella good for an older relaxed town. Good contasts. Some fantastic walks and views on the Island. Ancient monuments abound with preserved navettas and caves occupied by ancient people. The area is very quiet and although there are lots of eating places it was a bit boring in the evening as it all seems similar. The restaurants in Cuitadella were better quality and more choice. There is a funfair and waterpark for kids nearby.
I did clean up before we left, but there were new people in the room within 15 minutes of us checking out, so I know the cleaning has a bit to be desired. It is a bit like the old holiday camp idea of leave the room as you would hope to find it.."

well worth a visit
"husband and I just spent a week at this location. Rooms are fairly standard with a maid running in and out twice a week. There are two pools, the larger of which hosts most of the entertaiment and activities. The standard of entertainment although not high is enthusatically provided from the three Thomson reps. I did not find the hotel staff overly helpful but no real complaints. Watch out for the extra charges such as 3 euros to borrow an iron.
We had a good time and felt we got value for money."

Not going back
"Been there for a week August 2016. There was no entertainment at all, day or night, my son was very bored. The pool was very basic, no slides, no fountains, nothing. It also turns your clothes green. Our apartment was grubby, covered with ants. Boiling hot with no air conditioning! Freezer not working properly. Smell of sewage around the complex. Shower kept dropping of the wall and spraying everywhere. The bar was totally empty every single night. Also I asked if there was any bus pick up for trips out, like boating or zoo, I was told no, I would have to take 4 buses through two cities fir any trips."
