Globales Binimar Apartments

fantastic family resort
"The Binimar apartments cater for B&B,half board, full board and all-inclusive. I stayed all inclusive with my partner and we found it fabulous there. Most staff were english-speaking and very friendly and helpful. We travelled with Thomas Cook and there are two reps based in the binimar and were there for most of the day, everyday. The apartments were very spacious and clean.
The only thing that wasn't great was that there is no air-conditioning in the rooms and it was HOT! Fans were available to hire from reception, they were good and kept us cool however they cost 15euros per week to hire (plus a 10euro deposit)
The entertainment staff worked tirelessly from midday-midnight, great evening shows. My partner and I didn't think about going out anywhere else for an evening as the atmosphere was so good at the 'show bar' (plus we had free drinks from the all-inclusive!) I'd recommend anyone with small children should go here as the entertinment staff kept loads of activities running through the daytimes to keep kids busy.
The resort has three large outdoor pools which were never too busy and always seemed clean and well-maintained.
Food - brilliant selection of food from the all-inclusive buffet. I am a vegetarian and my partner eats a lot of meat but is fussy and doesn't like veg and salad. The two of us always had full plates and plenty of choice. As well as more traditional spanish foods, there were always good selection of meats in different sauces, cooked different ways. Big salad bar. loads of dessert choice. Always chips/pasta and different pasta sauces available too.
If you're all-inclusive then you'll find a long list of included drinks throughout the day and night like coca-cola/fanta/sprite/san miguel/tea&coffee/mineral water/selection of cocktails/vodka/gin/whiskey etc. If you're not going all-inclusive i think the drinks were a little pricey but not really really expensive. would probably be worth picking up alcohol at a nearby shop and taking it with you.
Nearby area - within easy walking distance is the main shopping street with lots of bars and restaurants geared towards a british clientele. Lots of souvenir shops. There aren't big beaches close by but there are a few lovely little coves. Calan Piques is the closest but i'd definately recommend walking a little way to calan forcat with is bigger, more swim space and more fishies to see.
menorca as an island had loads of sightseeing opportunities with trips running to mahon/scuba diving. The nearby town of cuitadella is a cheap and easy busjourney away and is nice for a day out too"

Fabulous! what more could you need?
"I had read some awful reviews about the Binimar and was very close to calling the tour operator (thomas cook) to try and change the booking. Well thank god I didnt!!! I thought the place was amazing. There was absolutely no queues for checking or meal sitting, the entertainment team work tirelessly through the day into the night and the food was up to standard with a good variety every day, The staff are brilliant and even the maintenance men in the grey boiler suits kicked a ball with my 2yr old. We had an excellent room which was cleaned every day bar 1 and the fan which can be hired for 10euros for the week kept us all cool. Where you'll fall short is if you have overly high expectaions of the place. The property may need a lick of paint but lets face it, if you owned it and had hundreds of children staying every week, would you? The location is fantastic and the staff are on hand and friendly whenever you need them. Don't let the fussy people put you off, book it and make your own mind up. Have a nice time!"

nice place kids entertainment rubbish
"we had 1 week self catering the accomodation was basic but clean ,staff friendly and helpful most of the time. The main reason for us going there was the kids evening entertainment which was supposed to run from 8.00pm - 9.00pm,but most nights the staff didnt come on stage till 8.15pm and were quick to finish at 8.45pm ready to sell bingo tickets, even when the staff were on stage they often came across as they really werent intrested in being there.Eating out you can get early bird evening menus which started 8.50euros for 3 courses, most of the menues same prices as here, we found that drinks in the bars were quite expensive. We had a great holiday but the entertainment was a let down for the children.we went with first choice and the rep was hardly ever around"

Ideal for Families
"Pleasantly surprised by the standard of this accommodation. Booked online fairly last minute and paid £250 each self catering through Thomson.
Room very well equipped - separate bedroom/lounge area, nice patio, excellent bathroom, kitchen had the usual 2 ring cooker plus a kettle, toaster & microwave which is unusual. Everything worked fine. Maids came every other day and always changed the towels (although not the bedsheets).
3 very nice pool areas with a lifeguard present at one of them at least. Bar and cafe/restaurants were good - did not have an evening meal there but had lunch and it was good. Reception always manned and staff were helpful. Supermarket on site very well stocked and reasonably priced, even had a bakery where you could get fresh croissants for breakfast.
There was live entertainment provided every night, although we didn't see any of it so can't comment on the quality.
The only down-side for myself and husband (who don't have kids) was that it felt a bit like a giant kiddies creche most of the time with the number of them running around screaming and crying - you definitely couldn't have a quiet bit of relaxation at the pool. However this is not a complaint as I was aware when booking that this was an apartment complex aimed at families, and we spent a lot of the time exploring out and about anyway. If you are travelling without children I wouldn't recommend going during school holiday times as I think it may be unbearable!
Location very good, a few minutes from the small beach and the bars/restaurants/shops.
The resort we found to be very clean and pleasant, with a good choice of restaurants. The nightlife is pretty non-existent though, and we were bored of it towards the end of our week. It was quite early in the season and most of the bars were completely empty most nights. The main attraction seemed to be around 'Jimmy Hill's Bar' where a number of bars are located round a central square with a stage area. Each night was a different tribute act - Robbie Williams, 4 Tops, Westlife etc. The few we saw were of a good standard but not really our cup of tea, although the family audience seemed to love it.
I would recommend hiring a car for a couple of days and seeing the island - you can get anywhere in under an hour. The bus service is also very good and quite cheap.Mahon and Cuitadella are lovely towns, nice architecture, great shops and you can get authentic tapas. (Best for buying the cheap cigarettes too). Cala Galdana is an absolutely stunning beach, as is Son Bou.
So, if you are a family looking for a good all inclusive option, in a resort that has plenty of activities for the children, I would recommend."

"Just returned from the Binimar (2 adults and 2 children 4+2.) We stayed on the all inclusive basis and food was really good, a good selection to choose from, we did not have to wait once, but then if you are one of these people that have to have your meal at a certain time you will find you have to wait. Restuarant has set hours for breakfast ,lunch and dinner and snacks throughout the day up until midnight!
Staff were extremley helpful and welcoming from reception to bar staff and was impressed with how clean the whole complex was kept.
pool areas are very good with plenty of sun beds, but still the sunbed hoggers were out before 9 and not getting to there beds before 2, how very considerate hogging the beds with the parasols when people like us who were at the pool all day with young children could of done with them.! (not many parasols).
Room was adiquate for our needs clean and spacious terrace, again cleaning very good.
All in all we had a fab holiday and would definatley go back. No complaints from us!"

Binimar Apartments - Fantastic!!
"Just back from a weeks holiday at the binimar, 2 adults and 1 child of 3, we had a ball, apartments were basic, clean and had plenty of wardrobe space for the 3 off us. The staff, spanish and english were great, the entertainment team were great and the kids club that had recently opened was brilliant, my 3 year old loved it and the girls and guys working there were brilliant! The complex itself was lovely and clean as were the 3 pools. There was loads to do for my 3 year old in and out of the apartments. We had a great time and would go back to they apartments if we went back to Cala N Forcat."

"Just came home from the binimar, after a weeks holiday fun. checking in is a nightmare so beware. Our room wasn't ready even arriving late afternoon, so we were stuck with an exhausted baby and no room to collapse in. Just over an hour later we got our key card. We'd requested a quiet room (ha, ha) we were right next to the bar of course. Noisy till at least 11 every night. Rooms were kept lovely and clean, but the wardrobe doors kept coming off their runners. Queues not that bad you just have to have good timing. Great for the kids, couldn't ask for more. Food was fine, something for everyone. My little boy was taken ill on our 3rd day with tonsilitis, and the hotel staff were great. Got us a doctor straight away no fuss. even asked how he was doing later.
Wouldn't go back again but i'm used to a quiet holiday, so if you're a young family who don't mind keeping your kids up till 12, you'll fit right in. Anyone else, if it's a cheap deal, risk it, but it may be a culture shock."

Not my cup of tea
"Stayed 1st - 8th May, it was the start of the season and was not up and running completely. Our room was o.k. but did smell of damp, cleaned well, nice balcony. Food was o.k. however we ate out a lot as there was only one dinning hall which you had to que for up to twenty mins before being able to get a seat. Drinks were fine however again the ques were ridiculous, again only one bar open! Standards may pick up as the season goes on, it was a cheap hol. but the queing spoil it."

thought it was excellent
"cant say a lot more that i thought the binimar was great we went in june 2003 for a week. the apartment we got was excellent it was on the end of the complex overlooking the sea. We were really put off going by some of the reports on here but i had booked it by the time i found this site. i really dont know what some people expect for the money that these holidays cost!!! All i can say is that the people are friendy the area is lovely and it is a great place to go"

"After waiting 2 hours with 2 young babies in sweltering heat for our rooms we were given a room at the quiet front of hotel which was as we were told ideal for prams and wheelchairs... well whys there 2 great big bloody steps to get up and down with your pram-wheelchair every time you go out?????. The room I am sorry was dire not like the one on Thomas Cook website we had one pokey dark room with a tatty settee bed a kitchenette and a table. Then a dirty bathroom and a bedroom with 2 beds pushed together to sleep all 4 of us as there's no way id have put my 3 and 1 yr old dons in the other room on a tatty settee. The food for kids is vile meat on bones one night then a lasagne that stuck to the spoon another so we gave in and spent £500 extra eating and drinking out the rest of the week . Entertainment was rubbish just a few kiddie songs at night so we took our boys out to bars to play in kids areas which they loved. The pools are the only good point id give them 10 out of 10 . We made our holiday good and enjoyable the Binimar played no part in that id never stay there again but Menorca was quite nice for the little ones."

Dont be disheartened by what you read
"Kept an open mind after reading negative reviews, was pleasantly surprised on arrival, loved that apartments around 3 pools, food was better than reviewed, they are updating rooms, no air con but it wasn't bad at all. Kept window and balcony door open during the day as we were always right by it, we were on second floor, and at night, we had shutters that locked so kept window/door open at night when we went to bed. Complex kept clean and tidy. Entertainment was ok finishes at 11pm but bars open, children made friends and also kept themselves entertained, we were happy to relax. During day there were competitions ping pong, darts, pool volleyball, pool football. Also water aerobics, archery and yoga. Winners received Certificates Outside complex plenty of shops. Jimmy Hills is a great place to go. Beach right next to complex is small but lovely (its a cove), another beach 20 or so minutes away if walk but can get bus. Overall loved our holiday, but everyone expects different things, missing being there already."
