"We have just returned from a weeks stay at Villa No.9 and we were very pleased with the villa and he service. To start with we arrived late on Saturday night and rather than mess about in reservation we were taken by minibus to our villa and told to check the next day.
The villa was very well appointed, well equipped and very comfy. I suppose that our only wing was that the oven was a counter top grill but that worked OK.
the pool was a nice facility to have even though in May it was still really cold.
The position of the villa just down from the bus stop to Ciutadella was a great asset. 10 minutes from town & all its facilities. Must recommend the markets.
The local restaurants & bars are in easy reach and most are well worth a visit.
Would return and recommend. We were lucky to get a 3 bed when there was only 2 of us but the villa was large enough for a family of 4 or more but 6 adults may be a squeeze."

"We have just had weeks holiday at the Maribel Villa, mum dad son (14) daughter (11). We had a fantastic time. The villa was perfect, very clean and well equiped. The pool and terrace were ideal and we tended to spend most of the time lazing around the pool. The location of the villa was good a spar on the door step walking distance to Santandria beach, which we found tended to be very crowded at the weekend but fine in the week, the bus stop on the same road was great a trip to Cuitadella and then picking a bus to go on when we got to cuitadells, a great cheap way to explore the surrounding towns, a nice leisurley stroll to the reception area each night for an evening meal in one of the many restaurants and we usually ended up watching the sun go down from the Blarney stone bar sipping sangria the area felt safe to walk around in day and night. We had a minor issue with ants in the villa which was reported to reception and dealt with within the hour. We enjoued our week at the maribel so much as soon as we returned began looking for next year!!!"

"we have just returned from two weeks at the villa Maribel and as most of the reviews have said they are great, very clean and everything you would want is on your door step, spar across the road with a little knick knack shop next door bus stop at the top of road which will easily take you to most of the other resorts and into the city of ciutadella which is very pretty, bus trip is 1.35 euro each way also calan Bosch is also worth a visit lovely port and you can hire a boat for 4 or 8 hrs to go up and down the coast and Moor into some beautiful cove beaches only accessed from the water this will cost you 130.00 euro or if you have a boat licence you can hire a speed boat cruiser for day for 285.00 but you must have your licence with you. although a very quite and residential area we didn't miss anything as to have the pool right outside your door and very private was great do take care though as the pools get very deep quite quickly up to 2 meters in the deep end so if your kids are not strong swimmers they may need a swimming aid,the beach was just at the bottom of the hill this was a lovely cove beach with firm white sand so did not get to hot for the kids feet the water was nice and warm and clear did have a little seaweed at the waters edge but once passed that was just perfect and very safe for kids as it stays quite shallow and can go out a good distance before it gets deep it also has a lifeguard on duty, great places to eat are the steak house in the cave and also across the beach on right on the cliff edge you will see a restaurant called sa narcia the veal was second to none and the kids loved looking over the edge down at the fish which are very used to being feed from there and come and feed on what you drop down to them also just pass the Maribel commercial center continue up road for another five mins and you will see a roundabout cross there and you come to cala Blanca beach just above that is the cala Blanca restaurant fab food and if you order fish it is de-boned at table for you all of the above are top restaurants so you do pay a bit more for these still great value as we feed 3 adults and two kids for under 150.00 but if you want cheap and cheerful but still getting good food go to Laural and Hardy's or jenny's in commercial center these are great value 3 course meals with glass of wine for as little as 8.50 euro we ate there 2 or 3 times and we feed all of us for approx 58 euro, the villa rep we had was Eric and he is so nice and so helpful and instead of having to go to meet your rep during hol he came to you at the villa to ensure all is OK you will also get his mobile number should you need him and he is very prompt in getting things sorted for you or on getting you info if you need it great hol and already planning to return"

Well, I went for my fortnight

"When I last wrote a review re my second long weekend stay in this beautiful part of the world, I ended by saying I needed a fortnight. Well, I have just returned from a fortnight's holiday in Cala Santandria staying in the Villas Maribel, the place was cleaned regularly and bedding and towelling changes were made twice a week. The only downside apart from having to leave was the effect of the recession and the poor exchange rate of the Euro. It was a little more expensive, but we held car boot sales in the weeks leading up to our holiday, not only clearing out junk, but giving us a good kitty which helped a lot. Villas Maribel management and staff cannot do enough to ensure their visitors enjoy their holiday. So yes, it's 10/10 again. Menorca, as a whole, has sadly been rather quieter this year, but the low value of the euro will not stop me returning for another fortnight in 2010 please God."

"We stayed at the Maribel Villa's for a week as a family and it was nice & relaxing. Everyting about it was lovely, clean, tidy and private with your own pool! There's not much around the villas apart from a Spar supermarket and the odd spanish bar on the beach, but its fine if you are lazing by the pool! There is one restuarant close by called the Steak House which is lovely. All other bars and restaurants are approx 15 minute walk, it is worth it if you like to have a drink and it is a bit more lively. I would definatley recommend the Maribel restuarant, lovely food and very friendly staff!"

"10/10 again. The cleanliness and maintenance of these Villas is second to none and Santandria is just out of this world. Sa Quadra (the steak house in the caves) is a MUST but closes at the end of September for the season. Pity. I could dine there every day of the week. Ciutadella is not too far away, and is a beautiful little town and absolutely bustles with a fab market on a Saturday morning but the town is even lovelier when it is quiet. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for anyone, and they just love children. I hope my daughter is booking again for 2008, a long weekend is just not long enough for me. I need the fortnight. "

"Could not fault the villa at all. It was exactly as described online and was very clean and spacious with plenty of storage space. Although we didn't expect it our towels and bedlinen was changed 3 days into the holiday and the pool was also cleaned out once during our week stay. We also saw a few ants marching from the pool to the ground floor bathroom but bought some ant spray and the problem was solved. We 'adopted' a mother cat and her 3 kittens for the week, then discovered other families were feeding them also, so they were certainly well fed.

The resort itself was very quiet as it was the last week of the season, but the shops and restaurants which remained open, were all very good. We did try the Sa Nacra bar as recommended by another reviewer and the food was good with stunning views. Unfortunately the steak house and the restaurant set within the caves (can't remember the name) were both closed for the winter, so we didn't get to try them. Santandria beach is only small but is in a stunning location with clear calm waters.

The only thing to let us down was the weather (it rained for 2 days), but then again this is October!. Would definitely visit these villas again but perhaps in July/August when the weather is better (only thing is, that then the beaches would be very crowded!)."

"We highly recommend these villas. Very clean and well kept. Every appliance you'd ever need in the kitchen, if you can be bothered to cook/iron.

Having your own pool was fantastic for the kids and not too cold for mum to take a dip in either. We hired a car for four days and visited a different beach each day.

The sea is clear and our 6 year old daughter was constantly in it with her fishing net and bucket! A very quiet resort which was lovely but very little entertainment at night.

We did manage to see the parrot show...twice. Very friendly staff in restaurants etc.

Would definitely revisit."

"We found these villas to be fantastic, more than 4 stars. Everything you could want, there was even an iron.

We arrived at 12.00 at night and did not know what to expect, very pleasantly surprised. Three bedrooms were very spacious and all were kept clean. Two bathrooms were excellent and very handy if you have an extended family.

The pool was cold but you did get used to it, I don’t know if it would be different in July and August. The villas are in a very quiet area (which is what we wanted). If you fancy a lively resort, Cala n Bosh, or Cala N Forcat are excellent.

There was a washing machine in the villa which was very convenient (managed to break it the first time I used it). Reported it to reception at the Maribel apartments and found the workmen at our villa within 10 minutes. Excellent service.

We did find ants crawling about from the downstairs bathroom to the bedroom on the night we landed, but there was ant killer spray in the cupboard which did the job and never saw them again. You will find ants at the pool when it is cooler, disappeared when it was very warm.

My only regret was leaving. Definitely would go back."

"Went there July 2006 with husband 51, son 23 his girlfriend 23,daughets 13 and 14.

Great holiday, plenty of space and the plus of having your own pool.

Rather small town and very quiet, even in July a lot of places seemed to be closed.

As we didn’t have a car we were limited to where we went but used either taxis which are cheap or buses.

Plenty of places to eat out, went to a "temptations" night out in one of the local hotels and it was brilliant. The meal was also included it was great value. Would recommend you go see it was organised by the Mirabel hotel.

Overall I would recommend these villas, though they are very expensive cost us nearly £4,000 for 2 weeks. Would go again but might have to wait to win the lottery first."

"I had never been to Spain before. Said I would never go, not even on a free holiday.

Well, my daughter and her family stayed in these villas and invited me over for a long weekend in May 06. I have relived every moment of that lovely weekend over and over again.

And as soon as she told me she had booked the villas again for 2007, I didn't wait to be invited, I invited myself for another long weekend.

Can thoroughly recommend them, the previous comments regarding spaciousness, cleanliness etc are all very true. I can't recommend highly enough.

One word of warning though. Don't stand out in the garden of the villa at 05.00 am admiring the dawn and listening to the birds - the sprinklers come on at that time and is that water cold! :-)

"We have just returned from our holiday and had a brilliant time. The villa was excellent as it was spacious, clean and well maintained. It was great having a pool to ourselves and the kids loved it. When the kids were tired they watched the kids channels on the Sky TV. The actual resort was very quiet however we preferred this. The nearby beach wasn't too busy and there were some very good restaurants.

We walked into the nearby town of Cala Blanca most days as it had lovely restaurants overlooking its beach. One restaurant/bar had flumes for the kids to play on whilst the adults relaxed and watched. We have already re-booked these villas for our holidays next year and would thoroughly recommend them. The only downside of the whole holiday was the fact that the price varied significantly, depending on where you fly from.

Our nearest airport is Glasgow, however, we saved £700 by flying from Newcastle and having booked the villa again for July 2007, we have saved over £900 by again flying from Newcastle instead of Glasgow. "
