"Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Confortel Anabel. We would recommend this holiday for anyone with young families. The room was nice and clean and had everything you needed, the maid came three times whilst we were there and all the staff in the hotel were very nice.
The entertainment at night wasn't very good but the kids seemed to enjoy it. The only down side was the location, at the beginning of the holiday the hill wasn't to bad but as we enjoyed the entertainment at the front we found it a bit taxing (but don't let it put you off). Found the "Toboggan" restaurant at the front which someone had recommended on the internet before we went and had some good times there.
The food was good, the pool was clean but a bit cold and the beach was beautiful, First Choice were excellent and this was the first year that my two kids (both aged 7) felt confident to go to a kids club the kids club reps were excellent. Altogether a great family holiday."

"Have just returned from the Confortel Annabel in Cala Galdana and its a lovely place to stay with young children, our girls (6,11) loved the pool which is suitable for all ages but does go deep in the middle. Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas, reasonably priced bar and poolside games and water polo by the Spanish rep Armando who is brilliant with the kids and also gets them all dancing at the mini disco.
Rooms are very nice but we got invaded by ants as only got maids once, apparently some had maids four times in the same week so a bit of a mix up there. Kids club good too and best place to eat was the 1st restaurant down the hill with park attached so kids can play whilst you wait. Big portions of great food!
The only downfall (and we didnât mind the hill) was the lack of entertainment for adults at night. We went to son parc last year and got good tribute bands karaoke etc. this time very poor. Bingo or a quiz if you were lucky most people went down the hill in search of something better.
On the whole a very nice place. The Spanish people lovely and everywhere child friendly. Great if you love the poolside or beach. Weâre going back next year. The Bexton family."

"Our apartment was very large, with a nice terrace. It was clean, but the cutlery was very basic for self catering.
The pool was large and clean but very cold, can not say much about the entertainment, except not enough of it. The position on top of the hill gave us a nice view of Cala Galdana surrounding area.
The beach was a real bonus and not as packed as you would think. But overall a very nice place for a family holiday."

"We have just returned from an excellent holiday at Confortel Anabel aparthotel. We went for 7 nights from 19 May 2006.
Our 2 bed apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The maid service was excellent with our room being cleaned spotlessly 4 times. The pool area was very clean but families with very young children need to watch the depth in the middle as it slopes quite steeply although there is a lifeguard on duty. Evening entertainment was the only downfall of the Anabel. It was very tacky and most shows involved having to pay for something such as photographs etc. We went into the resort in the evenings to the oasis square which was excellent.
There was a kids disco on nightly with an entertainer followed by a different act each evening which were always very good. Plenty of eating places and lots of choice, we ate out at a different place every night. Overall a very good holiday, I would return to the Anabel but just wouldnât use the evening entertainment again."

"We have visited this hotel 3 times now, on our 2nd & 3rdt visit we contacted the hotel direct and requested particular rooms and these were confirmed by email prior to arrival and provided upon arrival as requested.
The staff are very, very friendly. The entertainment is excellent for the children. The hotel very clean and food is great with plenty of choice. The pool area is well looked after and always clean. We have nothing negative to say about this hotel.
It is at the top of a very steep hill but there is a regular 'train' service which will take you from the bottom right the way up to the top. The restaurant at the top of the hill which you can see from the pool is excellent."

"We have just spent two weeks at this location and apart from one incident with some ants (which was very quickly dealt with)our holiday was "perfect". The First Choice reps were great, they organised several trips for us and were always their if we needed help. As we were self catering I cannot comment on the food that served at the hotel. We always had our meals out. From the pool area you can look down onto the town and one of the first things you can see is a very well run restaurant called MESON MURCIANO, this place is EXCELENT and I highly recommend it for service, quality of food and choice of food, nothing is to much trouble for them. Try it.
The hotel lays on entertainment every night, and the first thing is entertainment for the children, I have never seen children
So happy, they love it, so if you have kids this it the place to take them.
Cala Galdana itself is a great place, the beach is out of this world, the water is crystal clear and quite shallow for some several yards out,( ideal for small or young children ).Hiring a sunbed and parasol can be quite expensive, instead buy beach mats and a cheap parasol, most of the shops sell them and they are not expensive as they can be used every day.
One very slight drawback is that the Hotel is at the top of a hill
But it is not that bad to walk up and down,( you can always catch the " train " back to the Hotel )The Hotel is kept spotless by a team of cleaners and they are very friendly, we could find no fault with our accommodation what so ever, and we are definitely going back there again."

"The hotel is at the top of a hill, which wasnât as bad as we expected. There is a train available for 2 Euros, which is good for those who find it too hard (6 Euros for a trip round the resort). We had two rooms with a pool view, which were regularly cleaned with clean towels and linen. The only thing really needed for the rooms is a fan (main room). We were self catering but paid for a breakfast every morning, which had plenty of variety. The pool was always clean, plenty of sunbeds but you had to get an umbrella early. Games took place most days in or around the pool for children and adults. Entertainment on an evening wasnât much but you could walk into town, which had good entertainment (in the square and other hotels).
There was plenty of places to eat which were reasonable, Sa Lluna (on the hill) was a favourite along with the Chinese restaurant (Chinese Dragon).
The resort had a few shops for souvenirs, which didnât spoil the beauty of the resort. The beaches were beautiful, the main beach was good for snorkelling and you could hire peddloes with attached slides. A motorboat can be hired to visit other beaches, which can also be accessed by a walk. Beware of Macarella beach, which is a nudist beach.
We took five children (of various ages) on holiday with us and everybody enjoyed Menorca and we would definitely like to return in the future."

Never had a beach holiday before. Went...
"Never had a beach holiday before. Went to Menorca on an allocated on arrival deal at the last minute on recommendation of travel agent (Going Places). She suggested Menorca, as we wanted somewhere quiet and not very commercialised.
The resort is beautiful. Three beaches, two require a hike through pine forests, but worth it when you get there. One right in the middle of the resort. Fantastic for children, as bay is wide with shallow water, good all over view of the whole beach, so you could easily keep an eye on your children. We noticed this, even though we travelled without any children. Due to the time of year, (the children had just gone back to school), there were not too many children there. Plenty of places to get ice-creams, tea & coffee or alcohol and snack type meals, all reasonably priced within two minutes of the beach, yet they did not seem to intrude.
Thereâs not much to do in the resort, a few bars and restaurants of varying standards (beware of the Cala Luna, the meal we had there was probably the worst meal I have ever had!). There are a few shops, but not many. You can travel out of the resort by bus very easily and go to Mahon or Citudela, the new and old capitals. Even these are not very large, and do not really take that long to explore, a day in each is plenty of time.
The cost of living was comparable to the UK in terms of food and drink, although you could eat more cheaply if you wanted to. Surprisingly, tobacco products were very cheap.
The hotel was at the very top of a very steep hill, fine for us, but some guests found it a real problem. There is a small 'train' that goes between hotels that you can use if you are really struggling. The apartment we stayed in was basic but fine. Large fan in the bedroom and we hired one for £12 for the week to put in the living area. Nice balcony, not overlooked at all, which faced on to a pine forest. The apartment was adequately equipped, with housekeeping every day and linen changed twice in one week. It was clean. The only downside was that there was a problem with ants, which did encroach from the balcony into the accommodation by the end of the week. Apparently this was common over the whole complex, but you could get spray at reception which easily solved the problem.
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke very good English, which did help with our terrible Spanish! Entertainment was not plentiful, very little at night, but this did suit us as we could go into the hotels in the centre of the resort if we wanted to, or enjoy a peaceful evening if we chose to. All entertainment stopped in the whole of the resort by 11.30 or 12.00, with the bars open after this, but no loud music. There was a kids club for those who wanted to use It.
All in all it was a great holiday if you love to lie on the beach and do little else. The hotel had a pool, but we did not use it. Ideally we would have preferred somewhere a little more lively and larger, so that we could have explored more, but if you are after a stress free lazy holiday to recharge your batteries this fits the bill at a very realistic price."

"Would recommend this place to anyone with a young family. My family and I spent 7 days there last year and my son was 2 at the time.
The hotel was spotless, the staff were so friendly the food was excellent and the facilities for the children were great. The beach is a 5 min walk away and the water is so shallow great for the little ones. Also just thought I'd let you know about a restaurant on the front by the beach "Toboggan" they have a fabulous twirly whirly water slide for the kids, they love it. We are very particular about where we spend our annual leave as you will appreciate we donât get that much of it, do we? Must say that we were impressed with our accommodation at Confortel Anabel Apart hotel.
The entertainment for the children was great, the reps. really took pride in entertaining the kids. THE ROBINSON FAMILY, LIVERPOOL - (CAPITAL OF CULTURE 08 & PROUD).

The aparthotel is situated at the top of...
"The aparthotel is situated at the top of a steep hill some 900m from the beach. It was exclusive to Airtours and had good children's clubs. The one bedroomed apartments are large, with satellite TV, two single beds and a double sofa bed.
You can either go half board or self catering. The food is of a high standard, if a bit repetetive the second week.
There is a lovely swimming pool with childrens area. The only problem being the daily race for sunbeds. The sunbeds were chained up until 8.45 and if you weren't there then to join the scrabble, you had no chance of getting one later in the day.
The evening entertainment was not good but down in the square in the town there was always something going on.
Cala Galdana itself is a picturesque resort with a beautiful horseshoe shaped beach surrounded by pine trees. There are a few bars and restaurants. The resort is pricey though - 19 euros for two sunbeds and an umbrella on the beach! Needless to say most people (including the Spanish) took their own mats etc.
I would definately recommend the hotel and resort for a family holiday."
