"Have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Anabel Hotel in Cala Galdana(our second year there).
We couldn't fault the holiday, the entairtainer (Soly) was very good and had different games for adults and kids throughout the day. These games included Water Polo, Trecking, Shooting and Darts.
The apartments were very clean and linen and towels were changed around 3 times a week.
The pool are was very clean, a lifeguard was present at all times. The only problem is getting yourself sunbeds in the morning by the pool. You need to be there at 9am to get the beds when they are unlocked.
The highlight of the holiday is the beach, it is beautiful and the waters are very safe and clean.
Fantastic Holiday Overall, Would go again !

"Hotel offered everything and more than expected. Rooms looking a little dated but far cleaner than some 4* we have stayed in - well worth its rating. Staff are very friendly, food excellent choice even though chips everyday occurence but something for everyone even the little ones. Our holiday was excellent value but if you're the type (and there's always one!) that simply expects every need to be catered for as cheap as possible then up your budget and go stay in a 4*. The hotel, at least, does everything it promises. Pool over run with toddlers but who cares - their on holiday! Facilities in rooms adequate no hi tech gadgets but even better is that the bedroom fan is fixed to the wall at the side of the mirror by an electric socket making hairdryer/straightening heaven! Telebanco cash point and internet cafe down in the centre by crazy golf. Mississsipi bar excellent for happy hour. Next door plush hotel with Internet in reception area offering pay as you go MSN for the kids!"

"My husband and 3 year old son spent two weeks mid July '08 at the Confortel Anabel in Cala Galdana. This was our first family holiday abroad and we were not disappointed. Cala Galdana, as a resort, had been recommended to us by family and friends, although they were adults so we were unsure how suitable it would be for our son. Well, as we discovered, Cala Galdana is family orientated. You don't have to walk far and there will always be a playground nearby. The beach is beautiful, very green and clear calm water, safe for the little ones. Confortel Anabel is a very clean hotel, spotless in fact, with towels changed and apartments cleaned regularly. Staff were always very pleasant. Especially Claudia on reception who would often pick up my son and give him a cuddle. My son went to the Kids Club a couple of times and enjoyed his time there. The apartments have a fridge, microwave, toaster - all looked relatively new. There is a TV also (should you need to watch it whilst away) but we did occasionally and found it to have ITV channels which is rare abroad! The bed was OK, not the most comfortable but for 2 weeks suited us fine. There was a sofa bed but our little boy often slept between us in the two twin beds (pushed together). The air con is must on those hot days, 10 euros for our two week stay which we got refunded when we left. Showers are powerful and ideal after those days at the sandy beach or by the pool. The food and drink at the hotel bar is a little pricey but I guess we have to pay for the convenience of it. The food in the hotel dining area was OK but we preferred to eat out - though it was expensive. We hired a car for a couple of days and found a supermarket in the middle of nowhere, so purchased food at a lower rate than within resort. The downside of the hotel was the steep hill up to it from the beach, especially in the heat but we got used to it and it became good exercise after all the food we consumed. Also the hotels entertainment was a little too noisy at times and the volume could do with being turned down BUT it is a holiday and most of the noise had finished by 1100, although you do get the odd noisy family coming back at around 12-1. The walls between apartments are quite thin, so be prepared to hear goings on if you have a noisy bunch in the apartment next door. This said, all in all a very enjoyable first family holiday, so much so we are considering booking again for next year!"

"Just returned from a great week at these apartments, they were lovely and clean regular changes of sheets and towels. We took our grandson who was 10 years old and although he was too old for the kids club he had a great time with Soly the entertainer on site (she is from Uraguay) Also she did things with the adults, I enjoyed the rifle shooting and also the trking we did to another beach!
Matthew had great fun in the pool the only complaint would be that it was difficult to get a sun bed after ten am as they were all taken. This was more a fault of the guests rather than the hotel.
The weather was great and the beach was clean and shallow enough to play and swim in.
All in all a great holiday!!"

"Just returned from the anabel, its very good value for money. Food is very good, a lot to choose from. The staff are friendly and helpful, beach is stunning, just a bit of a walk up the hill when its really hot. Also being at the top of a hill the breeze is lovely when you are sitting on your balconey. Would recommand this place to young families really. Its also very very clean!! Would like to go back :-}"

"Fantastic holiday! great food! well worth being half board, couldn't fault anything! will definately go back, ( no work on building site opposite untill end of season!) The entertainment wasn't top class but better than nothing, my kids were to old for kids club, but the younger one's looked like they were having a great time. So clean, they could teach our NHS hospitals a thing or two! Pool lovely, garden areas very pretty, a bit of a hike to the superb beach but well worth the walk, have been to Menorca 4 times and Calagaldana is deffinately the nicest area on the island! Nothing was too much trouble for them at the Anebella!"

"We recentley got back from cala galdana went on the 30th june for 1 week. Was deleayed 2 hours going and 5 hours coming back. Comfortel anabel was nice quite alot of young children around the pool and accomoodation area. Weather was gorgeous started off at 28 degrees and went up mid week to 33 degrees!!! cala galdana is a beautiful resort beach is beautiful although very over crowded with people and especially young kids go down towards the top end of he beach where there a few nice areas. and the water was crystal blue.Everything closes in cala galdana at 11pm ish there is only 1 bar on the island miissiipis open till 1am!!Very much a child friendly resort with swing and play area next to every restuarant. If anyone stops at the comfortel anabel be prepared to walk up a very steep hill each time-certain reception staff arent very friendly, and when the cleaners clean the room 3 times in that week they left the balcony door open, windows open and the front door unlocked every time! and the first choice repat the comfortel anabel strongly reccomeded we pre booked our seats for going back to the uk if we wanted to sit together. So me and my partner paid £17 euros for this and when we arrived at the airport we were not seated together! when this was riased with airport staff they said it wasnt possible for us to be seated together!!Holiday overall was good although i would personally not stop at the confortel anabel again. although the resort itself was lovely."

"I went with my two best friends and we are all 18, and we were abit unsure of what to expect as this hotel/apartment was more considered to be for young families with young children! However having spent a week there it was a great holiday! We got a 3rd floor room at the front of the apartments which was great as it wasn't too close to the pool area or evening entertainment, so it was pretty quiet. We didnt spend much time in our room but it was very clean and had everything we needed. We had a maid came nearly everyday apart from one day, and unlike some other reviews saying about ants, we had no problems at all. Also the staff were very quick to act on a problem we had with shutting one of the windows. We told staff late one evening and by the next morning someone had come and sorted it out for us.
We spent most of our days down at the beach, mainly because it was so hard to get sunbeds around the pool area. We didnt even really get up that late around 9 but by then all of the sunbeds would be taken. However we enjoyed it down by the beach, I would just say watch out for jellyfish as on a couple of occasions me and my friend came across some little jellyfish that can be mistaken for seaweed - so just watch it!
We were self catering so we went out to eat twice to the same place and the other times we would cook ourselves which was quite hard to do because the cooker was extremely slow, however it was ok for us but not if you have little children demanding to be fed!
We went out every evening and we would go down to the little shopping centre area which was linked through to the hotel cala galdana. This area had a couple of restaurants/bars down one side and nearer to the hotel walk through it had a bar which was a great place to go to have a few drinks and play some pool. Also the evening entertainment at the restaurants/bars is great for all ages, we watched a range of acts from singers to knife throwing! Although they do pick people from the audience so if your abit shy then i would run just like we did!!
Overal we had a great holiday, the only thing that let it down was the hill that you have walk up and down to get to anabel. Even though we are young and fit it was hard enough for us, its not so bad in the evenings but during the day it was a work out and a half! Also the paving is the slippy kind and on a couple of occasions all three of us slipped so be careful where you walk!!
However i would definitely recommend staying at anabel, as we had a fantastic holiday!!"

"I cannot believe people would complain about this hotel and resort. I consider myself to be very particular when taking my family away on holiday and we loved every minute of it. The reps could not do enough for you OK the entertainment wasn't brilliant but it did not go on too late or was it loud by any means. The hotel is on a hill which we did not find a problem however if our children were in pushchairs i can imagine there would be difficulties.
As for the resort wow! the beach is stunning and very safe for children of all ages. Cala Galdana is quiet but not too much. We would recommend this resort for families and older adults i promise you will not be disappointed. "

FANTASTIC HOLIDAY FANTASTIC HOTEL FANT...
FANTASTIC ENTERTAINMENT STAFF
Just come back from the Confortel Anabel with my husband and two young daughters. We had an excellent time at the hotel.
The accommodation was basic but very clean, towells changed every other day. The pool and surrounding area very clean, and had no trouble getting a sunbed. The entertainment throughout the day for the kids was very good and on the night time it was excellent. There was an English speaking Spanish Entertainer called "Soli" who was very good with the children and played lots of games on stage and hosted the Mini Disco. Also the reps did an excellent job keeping both the kids and adults entertained.
If I could have one moan it is that the hotel is situated on top of a very steep hill! But you soon get used to it.
The beach is beautiful with calm clear waters. It is very safe for the children to play in the water and we saw no jelly fish whilst we were there.
The local restaurants are very welcoming and friendly. Especially Sa Luna and Tipico Meson Murciano. The later being at the top of the hill outside our hotel. This restuarant was fantastic, had a playground outside and the staff were extremely friendly with good English. We found the cost of food very similiar to England.
All in all an excellent holiday and we are looking to go back next year!

"NEVER EVER GO to this accommodation if you want a quiet relaxing holiday. We had a nightmare which lasted 7 nights. Entertainment went on till 11.40 p.m. one evening and we were in the room that overlooked it!!!!! With two children aged 8 years and 2 years our holiday was definately affected by lack of sleep!!!
I am sorry for anyone who has booked this holiday or get a late deal and this is where you are put. Word of advice definatly get lots of alcohol in you are going to need it if you want to try and get some sleep and take ear plugs!
The beach is quieter than round the pool in the day, can't work that out but its true.
The beach and the rest of Cala Galdana is absolutely beautiful, this is our 3rd time to this island, we thought we had booked at the Annabel Apartments hence our total shock and horror at arriving at the Confortel Annabel, never ever again."

"We have recently returned from this hotel and wanted to leave a write up on here as I often use this website when researching hotels etc.
I was also concerned regarding the warning of building work next to the Anabel. This was not a problem whatsoever, and I'm so glad now that we didn't change hotels as we really enjoyed it here.
The noise is miminal-if that! And all the balconies overlook the centre/gardens so it wasn't as if we were sat out looking at it.
Food was nice, as much as you want!
The rooms were smaller than I imagined from the photos but perfectly clean.
We didn't use the pool so much as our daughter preferred the beach which is stunning!!! Really, really pretty with shallow water for the little ones to play happily in. I'd recommend taking your own inflatables as the ones in resort can be a lot more to buy!
We hired a car through the hotel which only cost 77 euros for 3 days, fully comp-no excess, and free car seat. Great value. We managed to explore many other resorts but found Cala Galdana the nicest. The beach at Sa Caleta is also beautiful with perfectly clear water. Who needs the Carribean???
The hill is a drag but manageable, I wouldn't fancy climbing it more than a couple of times a day though!!
All in all, a good hotel and would probably return as it offers half board value with the benefit of apartment accomodation which was ideal for us.
