Lovely hotel with beautiful beach close by.
"Stayed here on 7/08/2013 - 21/08/2013 AI had a lovely time . Our room was on the fifth floor with an amazing sea view of the lovely bay you get the sun in the mornings on the balcony well worth paying the extra in my view. The food was good with plenty of choice at all meal times it does get very busy at peak times and we did have to que on a few occasions but not for very long . The staff are amazing and work really hard to make sure you always have what you need . The staff around the pool area are always coming around asking you if you want drink you do not need to get off your sunbed if you don't want they bring drinks to you and with so many people to look after they do an amazing job, also the bar staff at night times are always on hand to supply you with drinks they came to us all the time even if we hadn't finished asking another? one of the bar men said "it is very important to us that you have a good holiday " which we thought was lovely.. they can not do enough for you and always with a smile . the hotel is a little dated but it is kept spotlessly clean the maids will come and make your room up daily if you put tag on door asking them to , we had no complaints about the maid service always had clean towels and the room was cleaned to a high standard. The hotel is situated on a steep hill but it states this in the Thomson book, the way down to the beach is via loads of steps which can be a bit tricky to climb back up but the hotel does offer a mini bus to the beach and back at certain times of the day but we never used it and I think it is on a demand basis...You can pay a deposit of 10 Euros for a pool towel for your stay which we found very useful they give you a card and when you check out you get your deposit back ...the safe was very expensive we thought think the cost of safe should be included if you are added .The entertainment staff also do a really good job Mel and Paul were really lovely they do not bully you to join in the activities but you are most welcome to if you should want too. Not much to do in the local area but if you want a relaxing holiday without any noisy bars close by.I would return to this hotel we had such a nice time ...My only complaint is the pool area is not that big so sunbeds are very close together and if you want to choose your spot then you do have to get up early to reserve them but be warned a couple of times the pool man took towels off beds he did take ours once when we had gone to breakfast which I was annoyed about because there were loads of empty sunbeds for people to use i agree that people should not put towels on first thing in the morning if they are not going to be on them until the afternoon but they need to have some sort of policy put in place saying towels will be removed by 10 o'clock we were back down by 8.45 so if you want to make sure your towels are safe you will have to go to breakfast on your own while your partner stays with them or risk them being taken and put in a green bag in the reps room in reception ...I did complain to rep but he said it was hard to get them to understand the towel on beds policy all they need to do is put a notice up saying a time when towels will be taken off!!To sum up this is a lovely hotel in a quiet location and if all you want to do is chill out and relax then this is the ideal place for you ."

No thanks, Thomson Gold
"Review summary for the Fiesta Hotel at Arenal Menorca: Too restrictive all round. Poor drinks and food protocols. Having to constantly sign for everything, despite wearing a non-removable all-inclusive wrist band. Televisions in lounges too small and media entertainment very poor. Can't get away from the noise of live entertainment unless leaving the hotel. Hotel too small for all-inclusive. Very poor Thomson rep feedback. Poor air con throughout. Should be more up front on website about extra overpriced charges like safe and other add-ons. Internet very expensive given the quality of the service provided. Poor electrical as in room swipe card modules and poor on health and safety regarding emergency lighting in rooms should these modules fail. Hair dryers high on bathroom wall instead of by dresser and mirror to be able to sit. Lack of storage drawers for clothes and other items. Small pool. Lack of cleanliness in pool toilets with no running water. Lack of information in rooms about facilities. Not allowed to take drinks to rooms. Having to finish drinks before re-ordering; annoying with sometimes long waits. Most of the staff are pleasant although some need to learn how to smile a bit. Pool area too crammed with lack of shade if you don't get a decent sun bed early enough. Pool opening times too restrictive. No gym. Overpriced holiday for what you get. just a holiday nothing special
"our holiday 2 weeks from 18th august we found a sewerage smell quiet prominent around the pool area also found the beer measure at poolside was shorter measure than the evening when glasses were used when mentioned to bradley tomson rep he said he had no knowledge of this but would enquire and let me know----never did its ok if you are inclusive but different situation if you pay hotel staff generally ok but two left a lot to be desired food at this hotel very good though not a hotel 1 would go back to ithink the tomson reps are on one long holiday without a care in the world or for anybody or anything"

"Having just returned from 11 nights at the Fiesta Castell Playa i found the entertainment team and the staff very friendly. The accomodation was very clean and comfortable. The resort is very quite and the beach lovely. One downside is the 15 euros to hire 2 beds and a parasol so buy some to save some money. The entertainment was good and the waiter and bar service excellent. The pool area though is a bit cramped with the normal morans getting up at the crack of dawn to secure their preferred position although i always got a bed when going around the pool. An excellent place to holiday with no screaming kids or boisterous teenagers but the climb back up to the hotel from the beach a little tiring if you miss the last courtesy bus."

"This is our fourth visit to this hotel and I have to say it is just a fantastic experience. The food is varied and is expertly cooked. Even champagne for breakfast!!! The bedroom is spotless and cleaned every day. The resort itself is very quiet - no noisey bars etc and the beach clean and water crystal blue. Had a superb and would recommend to anyone."

to many steep climbes
"i would not rate this hotal a thomson gold one, there are to many steep hills to climb up to it,ther are lifts in hotel but you have to wait ages for them i waited 10mins once gave up in end and walked to 5th floor after walking up from local shops it nearly killed me i wouldnt recommend this place for the old or people with disabilities.i found staff friendly and it was very clean.you need to hire a car there is nothing much in the resort its self but the rest of island is very beautifull."

recent summer holiday in minorca
"Hotel staff provide excellent service and work very hard. The food is brilliant we were all inclusive and the choices were as good in the day as they were in the evening the omlettes are to die for.The entertainment was not up to the usual standard of a Thompson Gold Hotel we have experienced previously in other resorts mostly tribute bands .There became an issue with there not being enough sunbeds for everybody and reservations started from about 6am.If you can get the four poster sunbeds they are so comfy. The resort was very quiet only a couple of shops and a couple of bars if you like going for walks after your meal in an evening this is not the place for you.The bus service is good and punctual and only takes 30mins to get the capital Mahon where there are a lot more shops. Renovations well under way
"We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Fiesta Castell Playa. This is an adult only hotel which suited us. This hotel is not pretty however it has undergone some substantial improvements to the rooms, including a jacuzzi bath. The reception area is being improved during this winter. Food was good, with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area was very clean, and sunbeds were not ontop of one another (although this may be diffent during the high season) The entertainment was not always our cup of tea but the staff were very enthusiastic and included some excellent tribute acts. The hotel is on top of a hill, so if you are a regular visitor to the beach (which is lovely)you could be fitter by the end of your stay. I believe there is a shuttle bus to the town but we did not make use of this facility. The hotel also offers two all inclusive packages, which we did not take up, as we had a car and wanted to go out and about rather than staying within the hotel complex. Everything considered we would recommend this hotel. "
