Menorca or Minorca is the second largest of the Balearic Islands and its name derives from its size in relation to the nearby island of Majorca. Although having as many beaches as both Majorca and Ibiza put together, Menorca has managed to avoid the over-development that has occurred on its sister islands.
Holidays to Menorca are aimed at the families and couples market looking for a relaxing holiday as the island has a much more laid back atmosphere than the larger island of Majorca. Well known resorts on the island include Cala'n Forcat, Cala'n Bosch and Punta Prima. As with other islands in the Mediterranean Menorca has a mild climate with an average of 300 days of sun a year.
Flights to the island land at Menorca airport which lies just under 3 miles from the city's capital of Mahón.
