Lovely hotel, but air conditioning extra
"Went to this hotel in August for a week. Really enjoyed it, location perfect in a lovely little report, S'Illot. The only thing that spoil it was the fact that despite my Booking.com confirmation which clearly stated my apartment to include air conditioning, the manager would not honor this and instead I was left with no option but to pay. The room was simply too hot not to. This left a bad taste. "

"me and my partner have just got back from spending a week in playa moreia. we had a studio apartment on the sixth floor with a sea view. we have never been to majorca before and booked this as a late deal it was well worth it. the room was lovely all staff were very welcoming and friendly. everything is close by and the entertainment put on by the hotel is very good. we will definatly return here next year."

"A fantastic holiday
We have just arrived back after spending a fantastic week at Playa Moreia apartments in Sâillot. It is located practically right on the beach; the sea view apartments at the front are well work paying the extra for. The rooms are clean and cleaned every 2 days, there is no air con only ceiling fans which isnât ideal. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool area has sufficient beds and as you are that close to the beach, you are spoilt for choice. Yes, the pool is a little too deep at one end. The bar has waiter service and good varied entertainment at night.
A special mention must go to Jimmy, the entertainment guy who is FANTASTIC. He gets games going throughout the day and has bags of energy left at night. My kids loved him, he definitely made their holiday memorable too.
As we were self catering, we never ate in the hotel and there is plenty of restaurants to pick from. Itâs a lovely promenade walk with lots of shops/ cafes and Sa Coma is a 10 minute walk along this seaside prom with loads of sandy beach.
The airport transfer by taxi for 6 was ~200 Euros round trip.
There is a welcome pack of essentials (bread/milk/ham/cheese etc) in your room when you arrive for 21euros if you want it.
We would have no hesitation in returning to these apartments and loved every minute."

Excellent location for beach.
"This hotel is set right by the lovely beach of S'illot.
The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly.
The hotel pool area has plenty of sunbeds for everyone the only fault I found is if you are a non swimmer the pool goes very deep quickly."

Holiday - 2010
"We have been here time and time again. The sea view is to die for. The hotel staff are fantastic, really helpful.
We ate in the hotel restaurant for the first time and the Mallorcan meal was lovely.
The rooms are cleaned every 2 days.
Many other bars and resturants around that are worth trying.
One of the best things is that many other people go there time and time again, we catch up with many different families and friends.

"Im going to start with the outside first:
The pool was good the only thing i would say would be for younger children it gets quite deep quite quickly so not much room for the youngsters although their is a tiny little pool for them which is a good depth.
their is a basic park but with the slide and the hut thing and the mushroom (as my child called it) but somehow they find ways of playing on it for hours on end.
the snack bar is nice although very expensive..but the food in the on site restaraunt is not that nice..i would sugest the english bar!!! although quite a walk it is extremely nice with nightly entertainment which is a little more entertaining then the ones at the hotel and it has freindly waitors and yummy food..also it does a full english breakfasy all mornings..as does faulty towers which is tucked away but very close too the hotel and if you find it go their..it has a lovley waitor.
the apartments are spacious but very very very hot on a morning so i would get air conditioning if possible ..their are lots of lifts and spacious balconys! all music stops at midnight! if you are a couple on your own a walk on the beeach at the evening is recomended and very relaxing!
i would pay the extra money for the sea view as the back is mainly fields of dead dry grass! the beeach is lovley it is right on the doorstep! i loved this hotel and i am going too go back next year as you get a discount!!!"

great for all the family
"I have just got back from the playa moreia hotel and what a brilliant stay. although there was a few minor issues through out.
firstly me and the family(me 17 sister 13 and brother 2 plus mum, step dad and nan) had a late afternoon flight meaning we would get to the hotel at round about 11ish. when we arrivied i could believe how big the hotel was and hoping with having 7 floors all that came to my mind was hoping they have put us on a low floor. had to walk up stairs to the reciption and was greated by a male member of staff and gave us are room key and was very plesant. Lucky enough we were only on second floor which was a relief. Opened up the door and there sat on the table was a welcome pack with food from bread to beer !! it was â¬15 which had to be paid next day other wise bring it back. checked out all the room and thought it was great basic but everything you would need. Being half board was great breakfast was 8:00 till 10:00 and eveen at 9:45 there was fresh food as over slept the first morrning as traveling tired us all out!!! the evening meals being 6:30 till 8:30 they were also very good nothing out of this world but well worth paying for half board.
You could't ask for the beach to be closer it was brill being so close, not only that the supermarket was right oppisite the hotel too. the pool was great be warned its quite deep and there is a sudden dip. Sunbeds are taken really early in the morrning but have found thats an issue where ever you go. the little issues is that never keep food on open as there is an ant problem which did bother me but got used to it.
The entertainment was very good and there was music playing all afternoon aswell. must say happy hour was great only a few nights a week but great 2x1 on drinks was a good money saver.
overall the playa Moreia is a great family get away with sa coma only a short walk away aswell !! "

"The Apartements Playa Moreya/Moreia are in a fabulous spot and are very clean and well cared for.
They are only 2 keys, but are better than many 3 key places I have been. However, there is no air conditioning, only ceiling fans. We were never uncomfortably hot, but it was cooling down by the time we went. We also had a sea view room, so the sea breeze was great.
Would definitely recommend these apartments.
S'Illot is a quiet resort. Very nice and clean and flat. You can walk along the promenade into Sa Coma, which is a bigger resort with more going on. Brits are well catered for if you want Roast dinners, chips etc. However if you don't, you can source mallorcan food.
Tony's bar serves very good food and has the greatest pizza's.
There is a train that will take you through Sa Coma into Cala Millor for 3E return, which is very good value.
However, where the train stops there is also a free bus to the Safari Zoo...please do not go! It really upset us and we couldn't wait to get out. The stench is horrendous, the place is extremely run down and the animals seem poorly cared for. Once you get off the safari train into the zoo, it gets even worse.
All in all, a very nice resort."

"We were moved to this hotel two weeks before flying and weren't to keen but had no option. When we arrived at the hotel the night porter did not have our booking and said that there was 'no room'. He was quite rude and said to wait for the manager. When the manager did come she was lovely and apoligised straight away, she upgraded our room (which was booked) and gave us VIP status for the lenght of our stay. She was more than accommodating and very gracious. Our room was lovely with a great sea view, watching the sun rise over the sea was amazing! The room was a good size for all 6 of us with one of the bedrooms being huge! the kitchen had good facilities. The pool was great, very deep and cleaned evey day. The only downside to this hotel was the lack of air conditioning and this was a huge dissapointment. The only way we could cool the apartment down was to wedge the front door and the patio doors open to create a breeze! Overall our stay at the Playa Moreya was great, it was very relaxing and so close to the beach and Sa Coma that this outweighed the heat at night without air con. Would definately go back! Toni's bar does a mean pizza, well worth a visit! :)"

"Just got back had a brilliant time.
Fantastic resort, plenty of sun sand & sea.
Went with my wife and our daughters of 23,21& 15 they loved it as much as we did.
We felt very happy to let them go off & do thier own thing while we relaxed on the beach or sat sipping a cool beer by the pool.
Look forward to next year.

COMPLETE NIGHTMARE I have just come bac...
I have just come back from a week at Playa Moreira, S'illot and thank god its over. I have never been treated so rudely and more importantly....i was LIED TO blatently by the staff.....
let me tell you what happened...
Checked in and firstly they couldnt find my reservation....which was hell after a 2 hour flight and baggage delay and a further 1 hour trip from the airport....
after they finally found our reservation...we moved into our room, which was good, beautiful sea view, balcony, kitchen/ lounge area and nice bathroom. The air con was a disapointment as it was only a fan but the view made up for it. We had trouble sleeping the first night because of this....
the next day was fine, we enjoyed the food available in the area....the choice at the actual hotel was crap...and i eat anything so that's saying something! In particular if you are vegetarian like my partner is then the hotel resturant was useless...
the following day is the turning point....went out to the beach to sunbathe...we came back and the plumbing to our bathroom was turned off....i called reception about this and the manager came up to chat to us....
she claimed there was a burst pipe....ONLY AFFECTING OUR ROOM causing major leaks to the floor below and it would take hours to fix...which is why they isolated our water supply. This was the last thing we wanted after sweating so much on the beach...
she said we needed to move out to another room...and said also that we didnt even pay for a sea view room so we had no right to complain....
we thought thats fine, it was nice of them to give it to us since it was available and we moved rooms without question...after all if there a leak who are we to complain..
We moved to another room....and it was the most disgusting room I had ever seen, stains everywhere, in particular on the toilet seat, bath, and there was ANTS crawling all over the floor. Then I went to the balcony....the view was of old bath tubs thrown out and filled with weeds and shrubs, a messy field if thats what you would call it, and some sort of self made car park which had so much noise because of the cars and a bus in particular that looked like it was broken down or there for scraps.
I walked outside....and what do I see when i step out....i could see another family moved into my old room........but i thought there was a plumbing leak???
So i looked into this myself further.....i went to my old room and confirmed somebody had definatly moved in, a family of 4 to be exact...baring in mind this was within the same hour we were asked to leave...
So i went to the floor below and asked the guests if they had experienced any leaks, as we were told whenever we flushed the toilet or used the sink, water was pouring into the rooms below......not one of the guests said they had any problems.......
So i called up my plumber friend, asked him the technicalities of a plumbing leak, and if its possible that only one room could be affected, he said the if there is a burst pipe, the entire floor would have to be vacated as none of the plumbing would work, as the water wouldnt circulate, its not one pipe per room..its ONE MAIN PIPE...
So we went downstairs and spoke to Patricia, the only person available....asked her if anybody had moved into our old room....she consistantly said no....we asked if we could move back in then...and offered to pay the extra amount for it...she said the plumbers need to fix the fault....WE KNEW THIS WAS A BLATENT LIE....we asked to speak to her manager....first she said no manager until next day....we badgered on....and then she said manager available later that evening....
So we went later that evening....and once again...another lie....she said manager had family emergency...convenient........and she said there was nothing she could do.
We explained we understood we didnt pay the cost for sea view room, but we would have if we was aware...but we explained that we didnt appreciate being lied to about a plumbing leak just to get us to move...the truth would have sufficed....they screwd up the booking....and shouldnt have given us that room in the first place........
what annoyed us the most was the fact they persistantly lied about the plumbing story and maintained nobody else was given the room....disgusting customer service.....
the next day we spoke to Carmin...a manager of some sort, the same woman that told us we have to leave the room due to a plumbing fault.......her story was this...
There was a plumbing leak....so we couldnt stay in the room
Then her on site plumber fixed the leak....
Then she recieved an urgent call from a family of 4 requiring a booking, they just arrived at the airport (what kind of family shows up in a country without having booked a hotel??)
The room was never supposed to be ours in the first place but they gave it was it was empty
There was no better rooms they could offer us
Reason for Patricia lying to us about another family being moved in was because she was unaware of it?? So the staff are unaware of whats happening in the hotel?
This is how i percieved what happened....
Someone screwd up...giving either myself or another party the wrong room
They was aware there was only 2 of us and thought we would easily be movable
They concocted a story to get us out the room without question
Now...if they screwed up, thats fine, i would have moved if they had been honest from the beginning, perhaps disapointed, but still.....but being LIED TO? come on, all the evidence adds up...they lied.....no need for the plumbing story...
they didnt offer us a better, cleaner room and NOT ONCE AN APOLAGY.
After that, we couldnt wait for the week to be over....and thank god I am back home in the UK
When you go on holiday, you generally book well in advance...and they took advantage of the fact we were in another country with no where to go last minute...DISGUSTING...
NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE
What concerns me the most.......me and my partner originally planned to go to another part of majorca by boat that day...we would have been gone until early evening...but my partner felt ill so we cancelled that........
what would the hotel have done if we didnt come back? chucked all our stuff out? moved it without asking....because obviously this family of 4 was coming wern't they??
A WEB OF LIES. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.POOR FOOD.

Playa Moreia Review â Mallorca After...
"Playa Moreia Review â Mallorca
After just returning from what is probably one of the best last minute holidays I have had I thought it important to share my views with you
I, like you, always like to read reviews of places before I visit them, but, this time it was even more important because it was the first time that I had not booked with a Tour operator â I booked on the internet at a wonderful price with just 10 days to go.
In the main the reviews for the Playa Moreia on the internet are good and thankfully I took no heed of the bad ones, what do some people want I ask myself. I have now returned to England and I have nothing but praise for the Playa Moreia.
I think its important to point out that the official rating of the Playa Moreia is a 2 key â but I would certainly rate it as good as any 3 star I have stayed in â however â please remember that when booking a 2 key apartment, donât expect to receive 5 star facilities.
So now read on and make your own opinions from my predominantly unbiased review.
Reception â Check In
We arrived at the Playa Moreia at approx 3pm local time after a faultless flight with Easyjet and a resort transfer with ResportHoppa.com.
We were dealt with by the very friendly reception staff immediately and within 5 minutes of arriving at the hotel we were already opening the door to our sea view room.
The first thing to greet us in our room was a welcome pack provided by the hotel. This contained cereals, milk, water, ham, cheese, bread etc, infact all the essentials you need at the start of your self catering holiday. There is of course a charge for this of 17 Euros (May 08) but never before on a self catering holiday have we been provided with this service â an excellent little extra.
Our room was a Studio type room and the room itself was basic but had everything you could need and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. We paid extra for an upgrade to a sea view room and I am so glad we did, not only because of the view but also the very welcome sea breeze which drifted into your room to help cool it down. There is no air conditioning in the room but there is a very large ceiling fan.
So, in the room were 2 comfortable single beds, a large double mirrored wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a bed side cabinet and of course the kitchen area. The kitchen was fairly limited in that you only had 2 electric rings to cook on with no grill or oven but there was a microwave oven provided plus a toaster. Plenty of plates, bowls, cups etc are also provided as well as amply cutlery and cooking implements. There was also a table and 3 chairs provided plus 2 chairs on the balcony and a small table. We often took our table from inside the studio to the balcony and ate outside looking at the sea.
The bathroom was also very impressive, large in size with both a bath and a shower â a large mirror and good lighting.
The room was cleaned every other day and fresh towels were also left every other day.
Restaurant and Bar
There is a restaurant available within the hotel but I cannot comment personally on this as we did not use it, however I spoke to a couple who had used and they said it was very good. The menu for the restaurant is posted by the lifts every day and there always looked to be plenty of choice.
The bar is situated nearby the pool and is the bar which services you both in the day when you are around the pool and also in the evening when you are watching the entertainment. The prices are very good I think for a hotel for example (May 08) a glass of red wine 2 euros, a bottle of red wine 8 euros, a diet pepsi 1.60 euros and a cocktail around 4.50 euros.
All the bar staff were very helpful and friendly with mixed nationalities but all with very good English.
We were only involved in the evening entertainment but I understand it was possible to join in entertainment during the day such as table tennis and water polo.
The evening entertainment was very good with entertainment of some description every night except one. Every other night a professional act was brought in such as flamenco dancers or a Brazillion dancers. One the alternative nights it is things such as Miss Playa Moreia or bingo.
All entertainment is lead by Henrietta who I believe is the manager / owner of the hotel and certainly knows how to make you enjoy your holiday.
All the entertainment was held outside whilst we were there because the weather was so good but there is an option to more the entertainment indoors if required.
The entertainment usually starts around 8.30 with something for the kids and then the main event of the evening taking place between 9.30 and 11pm. All music is shut of at 12pm because of noise. This is great especially if you have a sea view room as the entertainment is directly beneath you.
The Pool Area
A nice size pool, very clean and plenty of sun beds â what more can you ask for. Regardless of what time of day we arrived at the pool there were always sunbeds available. The pool is great and at a very nice temperature. The bar is just a few steps away and there are umbrellas available if you require shade.
Area around the Hotel
Sâillot itself is not a very big resort which is nice because everything is on hand. There is a Spar Supermarket exactly across the road from the hotel, but, also just around the corner is another supermarket which is a fair amount cheaper. (go right out of the hotel past Tonys bar and take the first major left â the supermarket is on your right). Also both to the left and right of the hotel all along the sea front are a selection of restaurants. Our favourite was Oncle Willeys which is along the sea front to the right. Also in the same direction is a bar which offers champagne and beer for 1 euro â we went here every day.
If you take a left out of the hotel and follow the coast line for approx 10 mins you will come to the resort of Sa coma which has more restaurants and shops and a large beach. We found a great Chinese here which gives starter, main meal, desert and coffee plus a drink for 7 euros.
The beach opposite the hotel is great and I think to hire 2 sunbeds plus an umbrella costs 14 euors but we bought lilos and laid on them on the 2 occasions we went on the beach.
There are plenty of shops to buy beach things and clothes etc and also presents
A fantastic holiday, fantastic staff, and really really good accommodation at a very affordable price. Can I fault it - no not at all.
If you want a good hotel in a quite report with fabulous entertainment at a great price then I think the Playa Moreia would take a lot of beating.
