Nice clean apartments,
"We have just returned from our stay at the vista club apartments, we stayed for one week from 3rd to 10th july 2013. Apartments are quite large and very clean, towels and bins emptied every other day and for some reason floors mopped, bathroom cleaned day before you leave, this should be done a few days earlier. Pool was very busy as there where lots of groups of young lads, who also were very noisy when coming back from clubs at 5or 6 in the morning. While we were there, only the odd water game was going on in the pooland didnt seem to be much happening for small children. there is also a 2 euro charge per sunlounger per day!! which personally i dont think you should have to pay for. Supermarket on site has a very limited stock. Lots of steps to get to apartment but knew this before so wasnt a problem. Overall not bad for the price, but families and groups of teenagers geting drunk dont mix!!! wouldnt stay here agin just for that reason"

"first holiday in santa ponsa and it was ruined two days before it ended, our appartment was robbed and we werent the only one either on the same day in the same block, manger was a good help, but certin staff didnt care less only worried bout how long we were on d fone to d rep helpline, which really annoyed me,bar staff was lovely, entertainer was very good specially if ur on hols wit kids, but wen we got robbed didnt like wen i asked for police to cum,] -------- i got head bitten off, sayin no no not allowed police, den wen we asked for locks to b changed and told manger no one is allowed in our rooms, cleaners etc,we waited for cleaners to -------- [cum round hid in the room, and two knocks to the door,10sec later key was turned in the door and in walks a cleaner, now wat is the point in changin a lock, dont understand.apart from the all the that, this appartment is not ideal for people with pushchairs or unable to climb steps,as there is bout 200 steep steps down to the shops etc.also there is no cameras workin round the appartments, anyone can walk in of d streets, also if ur lookin for d spare key,ur not even questiond,so anyone cud walk in a say a room num and away they go and robb ya,i wud advise people to consider sumwhere safer den the vista club.also thers lifts in appartments which is handy but to get down to pool theres two to three flights of steps.to anyone thinkin of stayin in this club,be very carefull of ur belongings."

Had a good time
"The apartments were spotless, the maid changed the bed linen twice over the 7 nights we were there, the towels were changed ever other day. The electric tripped in the apartment and the kettle was doing it . The hotel staff were quick to resolve this. On our second last night a group of teenagers arrived and were very noisy from 1am to 7am. We complained at reception and didn't have any trouble from that. The Staff seem to allocate blocks 1 and 2 to famillies and 3 to young couples and groups. There were alot of famillies there and they seemed to be having a good time. The steps were not an issue . If anything I was glad of the exercise. However the steps are not for everyone. But there are plenty of Taxi's waiting at the gates. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. I would go back in the morning. There were two guys employed to entertain and they were excellent. Water Polo was the favourite. I had a relaxing time and came home feeling refreshed. The bar food was simple for snacks but delicious. Casa Pepe the supermarket is located at the bottom of the steps. Also there are numerous restaurants on the streets which you can have 2 courses for 10euro. The Hotel bar was very quiet and more family orientated. The beach is a 15min walk and we hired a Pedalo which was amazing. There was a festival on the beach when we were there and it was breath taking, the beach was covered in cicles of candles. It was amazing. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy. We went to the Western Water Park and it was really good. I was to chicken to use the yellow slide. When we arrived in Palma we had to wait 40mins in the transfer bus for other fights arriving , however the coach driver was very pleasent and on the returning journey there were not as many stops. I couldn't fault the holiday I had and would recommend it highly. My only regret is not having time to try the Paella"

"Well first of all i cant fault the appartments, there was 6 blocks with about 6-7 floors on each block. every one had a lift it was very small but a lift is a lift.. they were very nice and clean. your towels got changed every second day or something. but the bed linin never got changed the whole week we were there. The bar staff were lovely. we were told the beach and all the nightlife was just around the corner from the appartments we were NEVER told you had to go around the corner and down nearly 200 sleep steps, not good if you have asthma. i was 21 at the time and it was my first sun holiday, we didnt get to the appartments untill 12 at night. our plain got delayed so every one going to different appartments got cramed onto the one bus with one rep and a driver that didn't speek a word of english. We had about 10 or more different hotels to go to and our's was the very last one. the rep got off half way there and didn't give us any info on where our appartments were. when we finally got there thi bus driver just dropped us on the street with no signes on where the actual appartments were. when we asked he just grunted and said " yes yes bye" well after searching we found them about 2 to 300 meters down the road.(hhich was a very steep hill). for the whole week we never seen the rep, so we had to make our own travel arraingments to water parks and other things. When we were leaving we were never told our plain was delayed so we were getting worried as our bus was an hour late coming for us. we were supposed to be in dublin at 6 but didn't get there until 3am.. we were not happy campers!!!"

"My wife and I took a 4 day late deal break in Santa Ponsa in early June last year and I opted for Vista Club apts, I had a choice of 2. Boy did I make a mistake, if Iâd read the brochure Iâd have seen that one of its features was a First Choice Kiddies Club, perhaps this would mean something to the average punter but it would have meant nothing to me, I thought most holiday hotels ran Kiddies Clubs. On the first morning when talking to the Rep about my getting a refresher course in mountaineering so that I could at least visit the small townâs shops and restaurants I mentioned that there was an awful lot of children about and her reply suggested I ought not to have come to accommodation featuring a Kiddies Club and immediately produced the catalogue pointing out this printed feature. I asked her why it was not in bold red type preceded by the word âwarningâ. Before I continue on this delicate subject I perhaps should explain the layout of the Vista Club. It is built on the side of a steep hill, mountain, call it what you like, therefore it is itself more like a skyscraper type building than a sprawling hacienda. The reception entrance was at ground level, about 2 floors lower than the passing road, but the pool, café/bar was about 4 floors below that without lift access. Our appartment was 4 floors above ground level but that did have a lift. In other words nipping in for a cup of coffee while you read your morning paper was not advisable or recommended to smokers, heart bypass suffers or people with hangovers. Since I qualify on 2 of these counts I usually made my own coffee, in fact in 4 and a half days I was only at it twice, the pool that is.[--] These apartments ran a minibus service to the beach, which was more or less the centre of Santa Ponsa. It left on the hour 3 times in the morning 9, 10, and 11 and 3 times in the evening 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00hrs. Returns from the beach left 15 mins after these times. It only serviced the one stop the beach so it wasnât a type of taxi service but once at the beach every thing else shops, bars etc were handy so it was very useful. The Vista Club had 1 other âattractionâ on the ground level. There was an indoor lounge bar but that didnât open until 20:00 hrs, back to the kids, and since we passed this on the way to our rooms we called in the 1st night at about 00:00 hrs as we merrily wended our way home. I couldnât believe it, theyâd moved the Kiddies Club to the bar. Not strictly true but from the activity going on within they might as well have. It was quite a large bar and there was a DJ, of sorts, and a turntable against the right hand wall presumably playing discs but this is only an assumption as the predominate sound was screaming, shouting and laughing kids. There's nothing like returning to your bar at night for a nightcap to get knocked over by a gang of 8-14 year olds running amok under the watchful eye of mummy or daddy or both. This happens because the parents don't want to spoil their holiday by one of them by doing the onerous duty of babysitting. Might I ask a difficult question here, would these parents take their children to there local, if the law changed, and let them run all over the place. I suspect not because they wouldnât want to change the atmosphere or annoy their regular drinking friends so why do they do it on holidays. Responsibility seems not to be an essential thing to pack when going on holiday. I've nothing against the kids, I've 2 of my own, now grown up, but when we went on holiday and they were younger we tried not to spoil other peopleâs holidays or our children by letting them free in bars. In those days, as nowadays, there are plenty of outside tables at bars and cafes where if we wanted a drink, did I really say if,[--] we could go as a family and annoy only the people on the tables beside us not the whole. Kids will be kids but parents perception of discipline seems to change on holidays at the expense of other holiday makers. "

1st of all the hotel puts on a courtesy ...
"1st of all the hotel puts on a courtesy bus 3times a day to the beach! We never knew this til we were leaving. We could have avoided going up the 165-175 steps which leads to hotel. If your going west take the hill left of the gate its easier than stairs. You get 2 single beds instead of a double. Pool is great Location is great, in middle of going to square eastward(5mins walk) or beach or nightlife westward(5mins too) Food is reasonable, heard bad reviews but we enjoyed, plenty! of restaurants and bars near within a stairway distance lol Rooms were basic but nice Hotel has absolutely great views of Santa Ponsa Staff are friendly Social nightlife in hotel very quiet Has a very mixed base of clients, couples, families, young ones in groups too. Different games put on hourly from 1000-2200 at pool Totally enjoyed holiday, would actually return to the hotel due to views, pool, price and location "

"We are a family with 3 kids aged 15, 11 & 4 and stayed in the Vista Club from 28th of July til the 12th of Aug this year, I can honestly say this was our best holiday EVER!! The Vista Club is absolutely fantastic, lovely spacious appartments, very clean, very friendly helpful staff, right through, the entertainment in the bar was excellent, very funny, the entainers, Patrick from Holland, and Caroline and Solly from the Uk were excellent, beautiful pool and poolside bar serving nice food, Santa Ponsa is a beautiful resort, loads to do, we went to Magaluf, Palma, Inca to name but a few, and the night life in Santa Ponsa is fantastic, I would definatly recommend Dicey Rileys on the main strip for a great night out, bands there are excellent, and staff are lovely. In fact the holiday was so good that we are going back there in Aug next year and staying at the Vista Club again. Top marks 15 out of 10!"

"We had a great time in Vista Club, it's a lovely place. Some advice to anyone with a baby is bring your own travel cot as they rent them out. You have to hire a fan too so be aware of extra costs. You can avoid steps the hill isn't that bad just think of working off all the food and drink, I walked up and down it every night with a pram. Beach is gorgeous and restaurant at the bottom of the hill really nice."

We were allocation on arrival, so we did...
"We were allocation on arrival, so we didn't know where we were going. The Vista Club is situated on the mountain in Santa Ponsa. There is 175 steps (yes we counted!!) to climb... which in the heat is tough. There was no entertainment while we were there as it was end of season...but the range of activities look good in high season. The Apartments were clean, but basic. NO AIR CON...which is a must especially if you have young children. Also you had to pay â¬2 for sunbeds which was a bit of a joke but the pool area was nice the food good in the wee bar there. Restaurants in general were great, good value for money. The nightlife was very good also. Shamrock bar a must if youâre into Irish music. Beach was the best thing. I would not recommend this resort for people travelling with young children due to 1. The hill (wouldn't fancy pushing a pram up it!!) and number 2. The noise at night can be quite bad at night as it is mostly young people who stay here. I would not go back to this accommodation...but that is not to say it is not good... we had a ball of a holiday. Potentially very good!"

Just for families
"Stayed at the vista club for 10 days. This place is more for families with young kids than for couples. Stayed in june so the weather was very warm. The apartments had no air con so we had to rent a fan from reception. We had a good view of the pool area and the sea from out apartment. The pool area was nice and the water was lovely for swimming. There was a snack bar at the poolside but didnt serve much variety of food and you are not allowed bring your own food or drink to the pool area which was a downside. To go to the nearest shop or down town for a bite of food there is 176 steep steps to walk down. A taxi back to the hotel costs â¬3-â¬4 but be warned some of the taxi drivers can be very ignorent and offensive!!! The daytime reception staff were not that friendly for a holiday resort but the older night porter was very nice and helpful. We hope to go back to santa ponsa again sometime but would not stay at the vista club again as its not for us. We found the first choice holiday rep at this resort not very friendly!"

Not for young couples
"Definately not for a young couple without children wanting to experience a bit of fun nightlife. Room was well equipped except for the bed. Which was two single beds pushed together..... A horrible no-no for a young couple with no children in tow. Still was early in the season so half of the bars/nightspots were still closed. The stairs were not too bad. We must have gone up them 30+ times at least. Food at the snack bar was horrible however which forced us to tread the steps many more times then we would have liked. Without decent food at the club every food or drink item we felt like getting made us go down and then back up the stairs an extra time. Children seem to be very well catered to, and are everywhere around the place. Which is a good thing if you have kids! Staff seemed only to be knowledgeable about the events that they were heavily promoting--- eg. Aqualand, Pirate adventure --- stuff for the kids mostly. There were a few fun spots in Santa Ponsa--- eg. Daniel's Corner ( great atmosphere, good price for drinks, younger crowd ) as well as Durty Nelly's ( excellent live music around midnight ). All in all I would say it was a great holliday, but we had to travel to nearby Magaluf for a bit more of that night atmosphere that was lacking around the area. Let me emphasize one point so maybe Club Vista will change it. ************ The food offered from the snack bar was horrible and it causes people to go elsewhere rather than eat at your hotel ********* Vending machines for drinks would be helpfull as well"

claen, friendly fun apartments
"This apartment complex was very modern and clean, there was lots of entertainment for children and adults alike. The staff were very friendly and the on site entertainment was brilliant, this is a good complex to stay on if you have children of any age, but may be too active for couples. The only downside was they have no televisions in any of the apartments. The food at the poolside is good and reasonably priced."
