"This is a lovely hotel with beautiful views from our balcony over the bay of Santa Ponsa, double basic suite very comfortable with air conditioning and additional ceiling fan in bedroom, shower room very presentable, jacuzzi bath was situated outside main bathroom/toilet just of living room so not very private. We stayed on half board and cannot fault the meals, fantastic choice of international dishes for both breakfast and dinner. Waiter drinks service in restaurant very efficient. Swimming pool and terrace very clean and well serviced bar within close proximity for drinks. Location of hotel was fine for us as it was not noisy but a 15-20 minute walk to main shopping area and sandy beach. Santa Ponsa very pleasant not overcrowded very good for boat trips and good bus links to Palma and other towns for sightseeing. We hope to return one day sometime in the future but would also look at other Iberostar Hotels."

"lovely clean hotel we booked jrn suites they were loverly but the idea of open bath tub incase some one knocks on your door is a bit embarrassing my problems is with the pools i stayed in this hotel for 7 days and found that around the pool sides was cleaned regular with a jet spray only for the dirty water going into the pool i asked at reception how the pool it self was cleaned only to be told it was cleaned today i said yes but the dirty water from the pool sides go into the pool and all i got was oh so i never went into the pool the same as the indoor pool I noticed that there was dirt at the sides near the where you entered the pool so thought it was best to stay clear, i dont no if it is cleaned more in summer months, apart from this the bar staff where great and always made sure we had enough to drink as for the dinning staff got to know you and what you liked to drink there was no entertainment except on a Saturday night a pianist and he was out of tune lots of times you were not even allowed to play bat and ball or even have a airbed in the pool what harm can that do. It rained and was windy the full 7 days we were there so it became a boring holiday not much you can do in this sort of weather "

a wonderful holiday
"My husband & myself have just returned from this wonderful hotel we normally stay in 4* or 5* hotels but we can honestly say this has been one of the best. The hotel itself is lovely the staff are so friendly and they can't do enough for you to ensure you have a great time and your needs are catered for. The rooms are large, with views to die for and the whirlpool bath and the jet shower and both added luxeries. We had our meals in the terrace over, looking the pool and the sea. We would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. We hope to return again in the next year or so. "

"The hotel is excellent. We stayed in a Junior Suite which we thought was more than adequate. The room facilities included TV, telephone, hairdryer, fridge (but ours was faulty), and a safe which cost 14 euros for the week. The room also had a huge whilpool/ jacuzzi bath- which we used a couple of times. However the first time we used it the bath started to fill with scum which we put down to lack of use, or old water in the pipes, so you may want to rinse it out first! There was also a large jet shower. We had a large balcony with a fantastic view overlooking Santa Ponsa bay; which had a table and 2 chairs. The room was cleaned every day and kept nice and tidy. The restaurant was very nice, you could choose a table inside or on the balcony. The advantage to eating inside was the air conditioning. There was a good choice of food on offer to suit all tastes; including soups, salads, pastries, pizza, stews, steaks, rice dishes, vegetables, ice-cream, desserts and fruit. Drinks bought in the restaurant could be paid for on leaving or charged to your room account. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive; from the cleaners to the restaurant staff, to the reception desk. We were locked out of our safe one morning and a member of staff came to fix it within 15 minutes. The pool area was nice and kept clean. Although there were more beds than I had thought there would be, it still did get quite busy. Next to the pool was the bar and snackbar area; which was also very nice. Occasionaly the hotel has entertainment on in the evenings, and when we were there we saw a Tina Turner tribute act who was very good. She got the whole audience involved. The hotel is a good 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Santa Ponsa; and about 5 minutes from the square. The beach is quite large and can also get crowded. The usual watersports are available for hire including pedalos. We had a walk around to Little Beach as well, which is exactly what it says on the tin- it is a little beach! Just back from the main beach is a nice wooded area, where parrots nest. In the evening its worth a stroll down to the beach front as there are various street artists, from musicians, mime artists and even a sword swallower! It depends on what you like in a resort as to whether you will like Santa Ponsa; for me it is a little too commersialised and very much geared up to the Irish/ British tourist. (There were loads of Irish owned bars, and lots of Irish tourists). There was little in the way of anything remotely with a Spanish theme. In many ways, its very much like any other resort in Spain! If you could pick this hotel up and put it somewhere with a bit more character and history, I would definately go back, but Santa Ponsa wasn't exactly to my liking so I don't think I'd be returning. "Just returned from week at this hotel. I have stayed in many hotels in many countries but never had the bath and hand basin in the living area, at least not for a 4 * hotel. Unfortunately the suite had an unpleasant smell on arrival and lingered on and off during the week. The aircon did not work but was fixed the following day. The whole room was in need of refurbishment with marked and chipped furniture. The towels were supposed to be white but were grey and very thin but clean. The bedroom was dark and gloomy. Sun beds were quite hard and no mattresses available. The view was pleasant. On a positive note, the food was excellent, the dining room very attractive with pleasant outdoor terrace. The Spa facilities which is why I chose this hotel, were superb and the Thai girls excellent. However no other guests chose any of the free sessions of yoga, pilates, healthy back etc so as I was the only one these did not happen! At least the sun shone but I would not return to that hotel. "

"My husband and I have just spent a week at this lovely hotel. Our senior suite on the 7th floor was superb, with a large walk-in shower and Jacuzzi, which was fun! The food was good, breakfasts were excellent. The glass balcony was perfect, with fabulous views of the bay both during the day and night. The Spanish Square gave entertainment for us after Dinner, which is a ten minute walk away. We sat and watched the various tribute acts and then slowly walked back to the hotel and sat on the glass balcony, had a drink and watched the bay by night! Perfect. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to go back sometime soon."

"This was our 4th time we have stayed in this fantastic hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We always upgrade to the honeymoon suite, what is fantastic. Have booked up again for 2007. There is a fantastic dining room with fantastic views over the bay. This has got to be the best hotel in Santa Ponsa. As we have stayed in others and had terrible troubles."

"Just back from a week at the hotel Jardin Del Sol and hardly left the hotel grounds! Great rooms all with sea view and huge jacuzzi bath in the room (not in the bathroom!). If you are lucky enough to get a 5th floor you'll get a huge terrace with own sunbeds. Other rooms have a nice balcony. Great location - on the sea but rocky, not beach. Lovely pool area. The resort beach about 10 mins walk away. Buffet meals were very good quality and lots of choice every day, if a bit repetitive after a while. Try to get a table outside! Nice bar by the pool, ask for local drinks and they are not expensive. Maid service excellent, rooms very clean. Can be a little bit noisy due to tiled floors so take earplugs! The hotel is on the edge of Santa Ponsa. The resort is pretty tacky, all tourist shops, all-day breakfasts and Irish bars but it depends what you are looking for. A great chill-out location."

"The view from all of the rooms was unbelievable! The hotel is located at the top of quite a hill, but found a great route from the beach in the centre of the resort via the rocks and then discreetly used the lift in the hotel next to ours which brought you to street level. Excellent food and choice even though to obtain toast you had to feed the bread through at least 4 times. Staff very courteous, room cleaned daily, lifts very unreliable, in fact in four day period got stuck twice. Mainly Germans in the hotel, very few British. Cycling club run from Hotel so we didn't have a problem with obtaining sunbeds as cyclist out during the day. Pool area immaculate. Obtained bucket of ice each evening from the pool bar to take back to our room. Great!"

perfect in every way
"My Husband and I stayed in this hotel August 2006, from the minute we walked into the hotel the view from the reception was unbelievable. It looked right onto the sea, there was also a porter there to take your luggage up to your room, the staff were extremely helpful. We paid extra for a terrace suite, it was well worth it. On our terrace there was two sun loungers with a small table next to them, two chairs and another table, the terrace also had your own personal shower. Our living area was really spacious we had a hot tub, which was really relaxing, the bathroom had a jet shower which i had never seen one like before. The bedroom contained a queensize bed, very spacious. The rooms were cleaned every day and our bedding was changed at our request. The maid was very freindly and helpful. We were a room only basis . We will definetely be going back there next year without a doubt, it was the best holiday I have ever had."
