Dont go there if you're unfit...

"The apartments were spotlessly clean, the pool is nice but the stairs up to the room were awful. We had to walk 8 flights of stairs up to our room and the lift only goes up to the first floor so it wasn’t worth using.
The entertainment by the pool was dreadful and the prices at the bar were astronomical. The shop over the road was selling a bottle of vodka for €4.40 and at the bar it was €5.00 for one glass of the same vodka with lemonade. You also can’t take your own drinks around the swimming pool, even bottles of water aren't allowed, the inflated prices made a cheap holiday much more expensive.
The noise that other people talk about from the town didn't bother us but the apartments are surrounded by Irish bars and you have to really search for good restaurants unless you want to eat everything with chips.
I really wouldn't recommend Santa Ponsa to anyone, Majorca has some lovely towns and Santa Ponsa isn't one of them."

welcome to the apartments from hell

"On arrival at the apts we were greeted my a miserable Geordie receptionist who gave us a list of the rules and regulations, no noise after 12pm, no eating or drinking your own stuff around the pool area. We then proceeded to climb the 72 steps to our room (no lift only to the first floor). Our room was basic but what do you expect in a 2 star. Our apt was not cleaned throughout the ten days we were there, the cleaners left clean towels, toilet rolls and sheets after a few days, which we were expected to put on the beds ourselves. If you ran out of toilet rolls you were expected to pay 50 cent for a new one.

On putting things away in the drawers we noticed graffiti in all of them dating back to 1990.

On our first morning we ordered breakfast from the pool area, we were expecting it to be bought to our table as is usual, but how wrong could we be, all of a sudden we heard a roar from the HOUND FROM HELL in the kitchen area shouting “BREAKFAST”, and we had to go and fetch it, this carried on all throughout the day. It was the one and only time we ate there, as then bumping into the woman who cooked in the toilet and noticed she had not washed her hands put us off big time.

The noise was constant into the evenings and throughout the night, shouting and screaming off the balconies and when we complained to reception about the noise all they said was there was not any young people there, well they must have thought we were blind, but nothing was done about it and it carried on throughout the holiday.

The best thing about the holiday was the bar over the road from the apartments called Rendevous run by a lovely Derby couple Ken and Jan, who we went to for breakfast every morning.

I would never recommend the HOLIDAY HELL APARTMENTS to anyone so BE WARNED!

If anyone wishes to see pictures we took of bath, light fittings and chest of drawers which need a refurb look at brummie99, we travelled from leicester, but never again"

Hated the place!

"I booked this holiday and looked at the reviews on here and thought we had nothing to worry about, that we would have a lovely holiday in Majorca in a different resort to where we normally go to....I could not have thought Wrong!!

On arriving at the hotel,we were greeted by one of the night staff who did not speak any english what so ever, we hired a safe which was 25euros, but an hour later discovered the safes where in reception, asked for a refund and got it back!

After climbing up the first set of steps to the pool area we then had to climb up many many more, without any help!

The rooms, well what can i say, thay are very basic with a table and chairs, sofa bed, bathroom and in the bedroom just your bed.
Please if you do travel here do not have room 240 or 241 or any around that block as you will go onto your balcony and have the worst view i have ever seen, it is a waste ground with half a car sat there, old beds, bits of wood and just rubbish!

The windows and doors where not the best, to lock you just push the bolt over (abit like a toilet lock!) and that was it, the windows and doors were all rotting as well as every other thing in the apartment that was wood.

Towels and sheets were changed once on the holiday, BUT the sheets where just left on the side for you to change them yourself!

The pool area is in a very nice setting, a good size pool and sunbeds available plus a pool bar, the pool bar is run by about 3 ladies all never together on a shift its just one at a time, you can buy drinks, crisps, ice lollys and food there.

A word of warning if you do have any breakfast or luch there be ware!....if you have order a full breakfast or just toast the this will not be delivered to your table it will be slammed on the the side of the bar and then your whole order will be shouted out by the lady to everyone round the pool.I have never heard anything so loud, every time she shouted people jumped!

The pool was cleaned by a man with a net every day to get out any glass, rubbish and other bits and bobs people put into the pool, around the pool area was extremly slippy so be careful another thing to be warned about is SUNBEDS.
Buy a lilo when you arrive as you will not be able to lie on them as they dont move to sit you put they are just hard plastic and are the most uncomfortable things i have ever laid on!

The hotel and some parts of the resort are full of irish, which i have no trouble with, but in the hotel it seemd like the irish were in charge, as some as a particular wedding party arrived the english music was swapped for irish, and when it came to 7.30 and people were in the pool the would be told to get out straight the way, but when they irish dived in fully clothes there was no problem!

One particular night one fof the Irish got thrown into the pool and had a glass in his hand which was just left in the pool!

NOISE - another things thats be mentioned on some peoples reviews is there is a night man! yes there is a night man that sits at reception but he doesnt tell people to be quiet!
I and other guest at this hotel complained about noise people were being kept up until 6 or 7 in the morning due to noise but every time the hotel manager is just rude and tried to give you any excuse. We had the wedding party in our block and we complained to just ask them to keep it down as they were pressing the door bells and being sick over the bacony! but nothing was done we were told that they are families its not like it was a group of lads next to us, again the Irish got away with it!!!!

Entertainment at night was one of the rude bar maids, trying to get children to dance at the mini disco, bingo nearly everynight, and from what i saw karoke which broke so people where just singing with no music!, parrot show and animal show!

Everything was charagable at this hotel, you were given toilet rools but if you ran out you buy your own, maid inspect your room when you leave so then can charge you if anything is broken, for the hotel to ring a taxi it cost 20cents, the fag machine in turned off and you have to ask for it on, ice creams you are not allowed to touch you have to wait for the bar maid to come and get you one!
Food and drink is a BIG no no, you have to purchase it arounf the pool or downstairs at recpection, we did get a few bits and bobs there but be careful! The drinks are very expensive a bottle of bud was 5euro but you could go and buy 6 bottles for 7euro!

The resort of Santa Ponsa was nice the beach was lovely and there was so lovely restaurants and bars, some recommendations are -

Over the road from the holiday park apartments there is a english bar called rendevous, serving the best breakfast ever! full english or just cereal whatevery you want they will do for you, dinner at night is just as nice with sunday dinner, banagers and mash all the traditional foods! completly lovely people and do give there a try!!

Bar Code 7 for families who have children, great as there is bouncy castles, race tracks, trampolines which you pay for once and the children can keep going on, the for adults theres full entertainment, with a show every night!

For good singers Strings is fab with singers all night, sig lots of different songs that suits everyone.

All in all i would go to Santa Ponsa but in a hotel like the Hespria set on the beach!

If you are going to this hotel and enjoy being loud, drinking every second of the day and paying silly prices at the bar then this is for you otherwise go to another hotel!!!

If anyone whats any info about Santa Ponsa or the Holiday Park aparments just email me"

"We have just returned from our holiday and have to say that this hotel is spot on!
Holiday Park was fun, bright, clean and cheery. The staf were extremely accomodating and professional.
We had not pre-booked, had a quick look at the rooms and decided to stay there, as compared to many other rooms in the area they were big and comfortable.
My only regret is that we only came for a week. I'd definately consider staying at the Holiday park again without any hesitation."

"This was our 2nd time at this accommodation, went same time last year. We have got a good price both times, if you can get this apartment reasonable enough it is great value for money. It is just at the outskirts of all the bizz, don't need to walk far. I love Santa Ponsa as a place to holiday because everything you need is at hand. My biggest complaint about the Holiday Park is that you are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks down to the pool, they do let you eat and drink at the pool but you need to purchase them at the poolside bar, which is a rip off, If they would stop being so petty when it comes to this and at least let you bring down your own water it wouldn't be so bad, after all that is what self catering means. The staff are all very helpful, and a few of them remembered us from last year which I found amazing considering the amount of people they must see every year. A great restraunt to try is Paco's which is on the right, just past the duke of york restraunt (which is also good), going up towards the square, you can get a three course meal for 10 euro's which includes a big basket of bread and garlic dip , and a jug of wine, it is great value for money and the food is gorg. Someone also recommended the presidente on the beach, which is meant to offer the same value for money but we never got a chance to try it, when we go back next year I will definetly go there. All round santa ponsa and the holiday park gives you a great relaxing holiday, just dont expect a luxury break its more like haven holidays in the sun."

"Just back from a weeks holiday in the holiday park apartments and had a great time. There location is ideal, just a stroll from the centre and the beach. Despite it being a lively spot noise in these apartments was never a problem for us. The apartments were basic but clean. Air conditioning was avaliable to hire each day and a safety deposit box was also avaliable to rent. We were lucky to be located on the second floor of the apartments however beware that if your going to be located any further up their is lots of steps.......good exercise i guess :-) Staff were friendly and Santa Ponsa as a holiday location is a good choice for all, food was great, location was very central and most importantly the sun was shining all day every day. I ould definitely return to these apartments."

"I thought I'd take a few minutes to write a glowing review about Holiday park...brilliant pool, brilliant staff and a brilliant time had by all! Ate at the very nice poolside bar everyday (Hello to Mandy, the nice bar lady), and returned most nights to watch the entertainment....it was great that there was something on every night and there was always a really friendly atmosphere.
Reception also warrants a mention...fabulous staff that would help in whatever way they could. The apartment was brilliant too.
I will be planning my trip for next year very soon!"

"Before you book this hotel or any hotel of this catagory, you need to ask yourself," what do I really want?"
If you plan to cook big meals or expect room service, then this hotel is not for you. But if you want a very good room, congruent with the 100€ a night that you pay (in high season), then look no further. Spotless room and fridge, comfy bed, service with a smile and in a great place...what more could you really ask for?"

"We have literally just got back from our hoilday, and I wanted to let others know about my experiences of Holiday Park.
It's located just 3 minutes away from the beautiful beach of Santa Ponsa, close to all the shops and restaurants etc., yet in a very quiet road which was ideal.
Everyone at the hotel was helpful and friendly and when I asked the girl on reception for a restaurant recommendation she took the time to draw a map with 4 restaurants on and we visited 3 of them and have to say they were all amazing!
We went to Magalluf one day because we had seen and heard so much about it, but when we got there we were very pleased that we had chosen to stay in santa Ponsa!
The bus for the waterparks stops right outside the hotel door and here's a good tip: you get tickets cheaper at the reception than on the door of the waterpark.
We would stay there again for sure."

"We had not pre-booked, had a quick look at the rooms and decided to stay here, as compared to many other rooms in the area they were big and comfortable.
The staff were brilliant...really friendly and efficient.
There is a nice pool bar with decent food...I personally recommend the fresh salads which were great. It's only about 4-5 mins walk to the beach and pool itself was very nice to sit around. The only complaint I have is that they charged us 110 € per night and we could have got the same apartment for 80€ a night 5 months ago....Next year we are planning to retuen but will definately book ahead of time to get a better deal."

"Found this hotel on here and so pleased we did. Happy faces everywhere you look and clean and comfortable rooms. It is the sort of hotel where you can stick around all day if you want because the music is good and the drinks/food are not overpriced. This hotel seems to attract many return customers, as we spoke to people around the pool and everyone seemed to know the hotel well as they had been before. As lots of people have said the 2 entertainers are very good and my children thought the Baywatch thing was hysterical. Santa Ponsa is well set up for families and tourists of all ages and you will find some good restaurants within minutes of the hotel. This was voted our best family holiday ever and nothing will stop us going back to Holiday Park next summer.

"Just returned from Holiday Park Apartments on 3rd July after 2 weeks there, myself, partner and 2 children aged 3 and 18 months. Extremely clean but basic. Clean Towels every other day and clean sheets every 3 days. Air-con is at a cost of 70 Euro for 2 weeks, but well worth it! Staff helpful. Great for families however there are alot of steps to tackle, we had a pushchair and had 5 flights of stairs to climb but it didn't put us off!(Keeps you fit a least!)Had a shop downstairs open 24 hours selling all essentials.(Spar over road was far cheaper mind.)
Noise from bars was a slight annoyance as it is based at the top of the main bar strip, but has not put us off going back.
Pool was great, main pool plus 2 small ones for kids and babies, sun loungers always available. Pool side bar had a great bunch of staff who were very helpful and entertaining. Entertainment was on every night also which was always good.
Location overall was very good, only 5-7 mins walk to beach.
Overall would highly recommend this place to stay for families and couples.
Would defiantly go back and recommend it. if you do stay here we recommend room 361 ! Has the most amazing private roof terrace about 15ft square with amazing views over Santa Ponsa bay."
