"just got back after 2 weeks a couldn't wait, place looks great on the pics and reception area is very nice and clean and airy but the rooms are in need of a good update, the maids only swept the middle of the floor and mopped in places, sheets were only changed 3 times in a fornight and when they did come to make the beds they only did the ones in the living room, the pillows were terrible and the beds were not much better and the bathroom looked like someone had made concrete in the bath it was disgusting, it was that noisy would have had a better nights sleep on the m6 motoerway, were advised to have breakfast at the hotel as it was all you could eat buffet for 5 euros but it was awful cereals were stale and the bacon, eggs ect were like rubber, had a meal on the night in the restuarant and ordered it at 7pm it turned up at 9 horrible and it was 56 euros.
entertainment for kids was ok but same everynight the shows were rubbish apart from the bell man and minty the entertainment manager is so up his own behind it is unbelivable his helper ashley is a lovely lad and the kids loved him but he was told not to talk to anyone or socialalise with the people heared him getting shouted at various times by the great minty just because he was talking to the customers.
would i go back NO
the best and cheapest meals around were at the stagger inn around the corner great full english brekky only 4 euros couldn't beat it "

"We were a bit wary having read the reviews as some were really negative, however we had 2 - 1 bed apts and really have little to complain about. Having spent many a year in alcudia, i would say that this is slightly above par, in terms of cleanliness of sheets/towels etc. However you do get the usual odd ants etc as you would anywhere. The entertainment is fairly good - (if you want exceptional you have to pay exceptional.) The pools and surrounding areas are cleaned every day, and no one seems to be out at the crack of dawn putting down towels. there are still loungers available at 10 or 11. Minty does a fantastic job, and is not in your face as some reviews suggest. The best value for money dinners would be the chinese buffet at 7.95 euros or woody woodpeckers or the white rose as 6 of us could eat & drink there for dinner for under 60 euros. The pancake man at the creperie just at the bridge is fantastic.
Feel confident as it does what it says on the tin cheap & cheerful and most importantly clean!!!! sorry didn't eat there but others said it was nice."

"Just arrive home from alcudia beach. As it was my first ever time to go away i wanted it 2 be a holiday 2 remember and it certanly was. The hotel was awsome, the rooms needed 2 be kept a little cleaner but other than that it was amazing, really good bar staff, Loved Franco he was a right case :) the beach is a 4-5 minute walk from the hotel and the pool is located right out side, What else could u ask for! Me(18) and my boyfriend (18) really enjoyed our first holiday together and would love to go back there some other time! Highly reccomended to everybody especially family's with little ones! "

"The rooms were not clean, the maids spent 1 minute at most in the room, the floors were dirty and the soles of my feet were black throughout my stay, the bathrooms were filthy with black stains in the bath and god knows what on the toilet, i felt dirtier after i got out of the shower then when i got in, the beds felt like sleeping on cement. The rooms apart from that were extremely basic and in desperate need of refurb. The pictures of the hotel are flattering but not accurate and misleading. The entertainment was poor and i did not stay in once to watch it and instead chose to go out to dinner and bars as i didnt want to waste my time watchinng half hearted rubbish entertainment. The beach side of the hotel is lovely but the otherside is tacky, loud and has had all the spanish culture sucked from it by loud british drunks. I would never go back to Alcudia beach and i couldnt wait to get home from the minute i arrived."

"Just returned from our stay at Alcudia Beach, we went self catering. Room very basic could do with a refurb. Did not really do any cooking as not that type of holiday. Beds were really uncomfortable. We spent most of our time on the beach as it was gorgeous, lovely white sand and warm blue sea. Kids really enjoyed the beach. Pool was far too cramped not enough beds and you have to be up at the crack of dawn to get one!!!! Staff friendly enough. Entertainment was ok. "

"We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Alcudia Beach Apartments - family of five (3 boys aged 6, 3, 21 months). The best thing about the Alcudia Beach Apartments has to be the large children's pool - enjoyed by all ages but great for under sevens. The entertainment manager Minty and his team work very hard and the children love him. The food at the pool bar was of an excellent standard and the staff in the whole of the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. The 1 bedroom apartments are small but have everything you need - the balconies were a good size and we had a nice view of the pool. We had to move apartments as the first one we were allocated smelt of smoke but reception were very quick to move us when we complained. Air conditioning in the apartment was not as good as we have had elsewhere - this needs rehauling along with the decor in the apartments. The entertainment at night for the children was perfect, we didnt see any of the adult shows so couldnt comment on those.
All in all we had a lovely family holiday, fabulous weather and very relaxing. with 3 happy children there were 2 happy parents."

Lovely Hotel and Pool...Fantastic Town.

"I went to the Alcudia Beach hotel for the second time a few weeks back.

*HOTEL*

In two rooms were myself, my wife, two girls (1&5) and in-laws (who've been to Alcudia a dozen times; staying at this Hotel for around the 6th time). Went self-catering, so can't comment on the food, most nights we went out elsewhere, didn't sample too much of the entertainment.

Pluses:
- Swimming pool area fantastic.
- Atmosphere good, Brits getting on with eachother.
- Friendly Reception staff, willing to help.
- Thomson Rep (Tracey Tomlin) excellent.
- Minty's Kids Club good, was free and our daughter enjoyed drawing and painting and Minty and his assistant were good with them.

Minuses:
- Entertainment...the kids disco was a little late at 9pm (daughter enjoyed it a couple of times). Minty's Bingo was a bit of a drag.
- Minty's Kids Club...when it moved away from the main hut, a bit concerned that although they like you to leave them there, they don't keep tabs on them.
- The rooms were very dilapidated.
- We asked for adjoining pool-view rooms when we booked last year. We got one pool-view and one front-view, the doors weren't opposite either.
- In-laws' air-con played up for the first 3 days and they constantly had the man in so they could sleep comfortably in the humidity.
- A Hen Party stayed for a few nights and were very inconsiderate around 4am. Not the Hotel's fault I guess, don't know why they didn't go to Magalluf.

The pluses outweighed the minuses, it's generally a lovely hotel and a good atmosphere.

*ALCUDIA*

Pluses:
Fantastic for families.
Very flat.
Lovely bars (spent most evenings at the Quiz Nite at The Stagger Inn near the Hotel).
Nice restaurants (Champion was the best).
The Crepes man is still there, very strange, but caused much entertainment, they're very nice.
The beach is out of this world, the water was warmer than the swimming pool.
Weather is normally baking hot, so you can't argue, always plenty of shade if you need it.

Minuses:
Although it's flat in general, the pavements (especially the kerbs) aren't very wheelchair/buggy friendly and quite dangerous in places.
"Braiding?"...another annoying factor is the many ladies constantly asking any family with young girls whether they want hair-braiding.

Definitely going back to Alcudia next year, not decided on whether to go back to Alcudia Beach yet.

"Once again thanks for the reviews on this hotel which helped us decide where to stay. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are going back on Sept 8th for 2 weeks to celebrate my 29th 21st Birthday for 2 weeks. After a 40 minute coach transfer we arrived too early for our room so off we went to the nearest bar for a proper breakfast at the Stagger Inn just down the road. On our return the booking in was completed very swiftly and off we went to our room. We had 3 of us and was a little disappointed to find we were allocated a studio instaed of an appartment however not being moaners we put up with it. On our penultimate day in fairness the lovely receptionist said that had she known we could have upgraded to an appartment which i went and had a look at and they were lovely and spacious.

Hotel

As i said the studio was small but had everything we needed ie a fridge microwave hob and plenty of storage space. The bathroom was adequate and the balcony although small very welcome. Rooms were cleaned every day bar Wednesday and Sundays the chambermaids we found were very lazy made the beds replaced toilet paper and towels and did no cleaning but as there was a brush and dustpan on the wall we took the hint and did it ourself hehe.
It has a lovely pool area plenty of beds and 2 pools a paddling pol for toddlers and a large childrens pool at 2ft 6 deep and of course an adult pool which was freezing but then again it was October. Food was available most days weather permitting. Reception was very attentive and a credit to the hotel and near by the bar and restaurant facilities were very welcoming too.

Food

The Hotel food was excellent but far too much i dont think we ever gave an empty plate back due to the sheer size of portions.

Entertainment

We do not normally go to welcome meetings but on this occasion just could not resist as we were eager to meet the famous Minty everyone on here raves about. Very quickly he took over the welcome meeting from the Thomson rep and gave the best Arthur Daley sales pitch we have ever heard. For instance if you find a better meal outside of the hotel he will check it out and pay for it if he agrees which of course he never would ha ha. He also said he is like marmite either you like him or hate him so as a guide for you all if you like him enjoy he works tirelessly all day trying to make your stay enjoyable. However if you dislike him then simply call him Griss whereupon he will realise you know the truth about all of his wild claims and steer pretty clear of you.

Resort

Weather was not too good only 2 full days of sun out of 14 but the resort had more than enough to keep us busy. We only saw about a tenth of the place but was very impressed with it. Plenty of bars restaurants and shops to keep you busy. Outside the hotel is a man made canal where i spent hours feeding the fish and they got bigger and bigger as the holiday went on. The port area was beautiful but be careful if eating there as you can easily be ripped off ( 6euros for a small vanilla milk shake ) ridiculous. The old town worth a visit for the Sunday market or just for a wander around the narrow alleyways. We also took in C'an Picafort and Playa De Pollensa too. Both resorts beautiful and well worth the short and in expensive bus journeys too. The beach was gorgeous clear blue water and very shallow for the kids also warm white sand. Boat trips were available but we will do them next time. The Stagger Inn and Twisters are bars well worth a visit along with the New Inn and the White Rose in the town for excellent food.

Overall

We found the resort a little on the expensive side but have now found a huge supermarket down the road which will save us a fortune next time as the tourist Spars were far too dear. But that said the resort was clean very friendly and the cars very courteous when trying to cross the road. We will back as i said earlier and would recommend this hotel and resort to couples and families alike.
