"Stayed at the Hotel Playa Esperanza 2nd week in October. The rooms were comfortable and the facilities very good. I didnt want to go half board as usually I find Hotel food very bland and usually aimed at German and Scandanavian tastes. Although this hotel is aimed mainly towards these countries I found the food excellent there was something for everyone's taste everything was hot and freshly cooked and the staff were very attentive. A word of warning for most of the week we were the only Brits in the hotel, this wasnt a problem as far as we were concerned but if you like the company of other Brits then you need to take this into account. If pushed the only complaint I would have is that the area is lacking in facilities, it is literally two streets of hotels and bars with a road running between them I think that teenagers and young couples would have to go into Alcudia itself to find nightlife."

"This hotel was fabulous, food was exquisite(including poolside snack bar),restaurant and bar staff very very friendly, pools and gardens gorgeous and the beach was just paradise.Reception night staff not very helpful but day staff were very helpful when enquiring about day trips and things to do in the area.Great day trips to Marineland in Palma.Nearby markets and alcudia harbour fantastic. The only downsides to our holiday was the amount of hostile and ignorant germans staying in the hotel who would nearly wrestle you to the floor to get to the food first in the restaurant, which was in abundance. The evening entertainment was very boring, mostly for young children and finished very early.Would recommend heading out in the evening. Also, housekeeping didnt change the bed linen once in the whole week we were there, except for the babys cot.And the english speaking channels on the tv went absolutely haywire every evening after 7pm,very upseting for a soap lover like myself.Being Irish we would have loved tea/coffee making facilities in our room but was not to be.Apart from the latter we would definitely go back again to Hotel Playa Esperanza for the luxury of the hotel, the food and the heavenly beach.Very relaxing and enjoyable holiday!"

"We had a one night stay here in October before staying at a friends apartment and would thoroughly recommend the Playa Esperanza. It is perfectly situated on the beach with a lovely (heated!) large outdoor pool as well as a smaller indoor pool We had a very good, complimentary, buffet breakfast with everything from fried eggs to fresh fruit on offer. The rooms were large and had everything we needed and when one of our rooms had no electricity (you had to put in your room key to activate the power) this was very quickly rectified. The bathroom was spacious with complimentary toiletries and we had a balcony from which we could see the sea. We would definately stay here again should we visit Alcudia in the future."

"Had a great time here in May. Right on the beach, which was clean, could walk out for ages in the sea and still touch the bottom, even in May quite warm. Hotel food better than I hoped for, so much better for a veggie as things are labelled. Breakfast phenomenal. Best of all hotel is 5 mins, if that, from nature reserve, saw wonderful birds and hired bikes etc. Not many English in May, a+ for us! Going back in September we liked it so much. Ace vale for money, even has a heated indoor pool,if the weather lets us down"

"This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The exterior and interior is very pleasant to look at. The rooms are very clean and you get an amazing view from your balcony of the sea, especially at sunset. All staff very friendly. Food is buffet style and both breakfast and dinner was always great. Loads to choose from - pasta, meat, fish, veg, pizza, desserts, fresh fruit, etc (lots of the food freshly made while you watch). (No problems either if your a vegetarian like myself.) Cocktails are great at the bar. Good evening entertainment. The only down sides I found was the beach right outside the front of the hotel didnt seem too well looked after. Eg. Rubbish here and there, not much to do on it. Also Playa de Muro tends to be quite quiet (at least it was when we were there in April 2003). There are several shops and a few bars and restaurants but your best getting a taxi (fairly cheap) or bus to the Alcudia Harbour which has more to see and do (although still fairly quiet). Playa de Muro is great for hiring a bike and going for a relaxing bike ride along the quiet pretty roads. Or take a walk into the nature reserve which is pretty much opposite the hotel. Taking a tour into the mountains is well worth it. AMAZING views but high up so not for the faint-hearted! Overall a nice relaxing holiday at a lovely hotel."

"Enjoyed a 2 week holiday here this summer. Good location, right on the beach and close to shops. Very good staff - efficient, mostly friendly and helpful. Plentiful choice of food, delicious lemon and chocolate ice creams(!), though cakes were mostly bland. Hotel is clean and tidy and in good condition. On site hairdresser was reasonable - €8 (£5) for a kid’s cut. Poor cocktails (cheap ingredients perhaps - weak/watered down). Big downside for me was that the entertainment was outside, immediately below everyone’s balconies. OK, you’re on holiday and you’d expect to stay up to watch it, but if you ever fancied an early/quiet night, or wanted to get the kids to sleep early, it proved nigh on impossible as the entertainment finished around midnight. Good pool areas (a few raised paving edges to look out for) but even better, there was a FREE kids club (Mini Club open till 1.30pm by the main pool area, but Kindergarten open till 11pm at the Esperanza Park apartments next door, which shared its facilities). Would recommend this hotel - a relaxing place to stay though not if you wanted peace and quiet every night!"
