"Had an absolutely marvellous 2 weeks at the Alcudia Suites in September, although the weather was a bit ropey the last couple of days, but not much the hotel can do about that! Anyway the hotel was great, apartment was ideal, nice and clean, and we were situated at the back of the hotel, with a lovely view over the gardens. Nice and quiet in the evenings, which suited us as we have a 2 year old daughter. Even when there was entertainment in the hotel lounge, we never heard a thing - fantastic. Staff were lovely and friendly, always welcomed with a smile, and treated our daughter like a princess. Location-wise, this hotel is superb. Literally 2 mins walk from the beach, and right next to a series of shops etc with everything you need. The restaurants in Playa de Muro are great - Topo Gigio, S'Albufera and Leon Rojo are our faves - lovely food, nice atmosphere, great service. Also loads for young kids to do - play park next to the hotel with trampolines, rides etc, where we could also enjoy a beer - ideal! No rowdiness in Playa de Muro, mostly couples or young families, really safe atmosphere about the place. (If you want rowdy, head up to the Bellevue area about 3km up the road - if you don't, avoid it like the plague!). Great bus service up to Port d'Alcudia - every 15mins - which is a great place. (taxis are relatively cheap too - about 6 euros back from Port D'alcudia - ideal if you've got a buggy and some shopping). All the usual touristy type shops, but some great restaurants and, again a really nice atmosphere. Would particularly recommend Greggals for beer and people watching and Bons Aires for food and service. The old town of Alcudia is well worth a trip - lovely old town with some beautiful streets ideal for a lazy wander. Great and lively markets on Sun and Tues (I think) and easily walkable back to the port (and remember, we had a buggy!) About an hour on the bus and you can visit Palma which if you've never been is a great place - all the usual European city stuff with some lovely architecture, shops, restaurants, and stuff to see - area around the Cathedral well worth a trip. Will definitely be going back next year - highly recommended. By the way, we went with Thomson - superb, no problems, total hassle-free holiday. "

"Very clean and friendly, only problem don't ask for food from snack bar even 2 minutes after 3pm as will not do, even for a 2 year old they close on dot of 3pm. TV in rooms only have ITV1 till 6pm and bbc satellite goes down so don't expect to watch England games in your room or in bar so we missed both games. Entertainment girl from Denmark she was brilliant kept kids amused with her show in the evening that's when you can get the kids out of the park opposite. My 2 year old loved the Nemo bouncy castle, trampolines, and kids rides (you need loads of euros). Beach just down the road clean and lovely for kids. Get your breakfast at JPs english pub beautiful english bacon sausages and baguettes, the best chinese is at back of apartments you order as many different dishes per person as you like for 9.95 euros they also do take away if kids in bed."

"I stayed in Alcudia suite with my partner and my 7 month old daughter and we had a lovely time, it was a shame we only had a week. I found the hotel clean at all times. The pool was always clean and plenty of sunbeds too. The pool bar during the day done lots of different foods, which were good value and tasty too. Only disappointing thing was the entertainment! I would of liked to of stayed at the hotel of an evening on a couple of occasions but it was rather boring. There was a kids mini disco till about half nine, but after that it was just music which wasn't bad but could of been better. It was in a good location for us, it was quiet, but there are lots of places you can go with a very good atmosphere. Jp's round the corner did a lovely English breakfast and good entertainment for all ages of an evening. Cheers which was about ten min walk was always good too. there is a lot around for everyone to do. I recommend this hotel we enjoyed our stay. Thomson was fantastic too we had no problems."

We were very disappointed in this hotel ...
"We were very disappointed in this hotel having read good reports from other people. The hotel was dirty. We were there 10 days and never saw the pool area cleaned properly once, the sunbeds were filthy. Our room was never cleaned/swept properly. My wife seemed to be at the reception every day, once she even asked for cleaning materials herself to clean the bath which the cleaner had not touched. Entertainment was very poor, consisted of a lot of miming. Poolside bar men were very friendly and snacks okay. Restaurants and bars nearby were all ok but nothing stood out. Excellent beach across the main road. All in all we found the resort abit one dimensional i.e. on coming out of the hotel most of the bars were on the left. We went to the port of Alcudia one night by bus but found on returning that the buses stopped late evening, we had to wait over an hour for a taxi as the queue was huge so be aware! Sorry if this all seems negative but you can only speak as you find."

"We only went for the week and there were 13 of us. I had a studio which was very uncomfortable although the one bedroom apartments were a lot better. Place could do with a lick of paint and a thorough overhaul of the living accommodation. The pool is ok and you could always get a sun bed. Make sure you get a safety deposit box as my 10 year olds phone went missing out of the room. The beach is great. Plenty places to eat. Best food and best value SMITHS just of the main road. Also take plenty insect repellent as we got bitten a lot at night, and in the apartments. "

"We have been to the Alcudia Suite many times, and they go out of their way to help you with all aspects of your holiday. We actually rang them a few months prior to our holiday, and asked them to reserve a particular room for us, which they did, but we had a problem with a musty damp smell, they moved us to a better apartment, and helped us too, as I have a serious back problem, they gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne, as we're return customers. The facilities are fabulous, they are clean, and the staff are great, the entertainment is wonderful, we go there twice a year, and know the staff, and it's very friendly. It's just a clean, friendly, and most of all quiet - even with kids, place to go to."

"The Alcudia Suite Apartments seem to be between resorts. They are listed as Alcudia but are nearer to the Playa de Muro resort. Many tacky shops around which is great if you need flip-flops but not so good if you don't. Plenty of places to eat if you like home from home cooking. The beach is fantastic and is just across the road. It has really shallow water that is great for families. We stayed in one of the Studios at the Alcudia Suite and found although the room was large enough for the 3 of us, the sleeping arrangements were uncomfortable as we only has sofa beds and Iâm not talking about the sprung kind (it was wooden slats and the foam seat cushion you had been sitting on!). The hob didn't work although we didn't find this out until the last day when I switched it on out of curiosity. The bath had rust patches on the bath panel and the whole apartment seemed in need of repair. The standard of cleaning was not good even though they came in 5 days out of 7. I have seen reviews saying how great the kids club was. We went to get our Daughter involved only to find a sign on the door saying it was happening but no-one in sight. The receptionists answer to our query about it was "Oh, I guess she's not around". So we gave that a miss. The mini disco in the evening was so loud that our Daughter wouldn't even go into the room and she's not a fussy type of girl but she said it made her ears hurt. All in all we found the Apartments a big disappointment. The best part of the holiday was hiring a car (which is very cheap for the day is you don't go through your rep) and taking a fabulous trip into the mountains in the west of the island."

"I had the time of our lives, fantastic time. Fabulous apartments lovely view of the pool and a mountain. I am desperate to come back next year. The hotel food was lovely and of a high standard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Of course the resort of Playa De Muro and Alcudia is stunning and would have no hesitation of recommending this hotel to anyone. My rating top marks."

"A typical Spanish 3 star Aparthotel. Apartment was 1 bedroom, however dining area/kitchen was very small. Hotel was very clean and staff friendly/efficient. My only negative comment was location. Alcudia is a resort which stretches for miles along the beach. There is no promenade, all the shops/apartments are along the main road. The Alcudia Suites was about 3 to 4 miles along the main road from the main resort and port area. In the immediate proximity, there was only about 4 blocks of shops/restaurants. As a result, if you wanted any variety in nightlife/shopping, it was necessary to catch the local bus to the main areas. Otherwise you had a walk of about 50 minutes. I would add we went to Can Picafort one day and found this resort to more like what we had expected (compact and more variety shops/restaurants). "

"Took the family (wife and two girls, 6 and 7) to Alcudia on the recommendation of some colleagues as to the suitability of the resort for a family holiday. Whilst I have to give the resort itself an excellent rating we felt severely let down by the hotel. A family room with all the amenities you would expect (hob electric cooker; toaster; refrigerator etc.) we found on day 1 that the room had quite a bad ant infestation! After contacting our holiday rep the same day we were assured that this problem would be addressed but sadly, this wasnât the case and my poor girls have ant bites all over their legs and bodies from the little critters. We also spent a full day without any water. Now I realise this isnât the hotels fault directly, but the communication from the hotel regarding the issue was poor to say the least; and to spend an entire day in 35 degree heat without being able to bathe, shower etc. was not something Iâd ever like to repeat! To add to this, situated on the third floor and with a pregnant wife and two excitable children in tow, we opted to use the lift to get to and from our room. We noticed that one of the two lifts available was out of order and chose the second lift. We were stuck in the dark for half hour between two floors before being rescued by hotel staff. Not a nice experience, although I did learn that I suffer from claustrophobia during the ordeal! Finally, we ordered lunch from the hotel bar on the 2nd day: my wifeâs tomato, mozzarella and basil baqette arrived minus the basil and on return it had been dressed in the most awful sweet sugar flavoured oil with flecks of (what we hoped was!) basil in it. Needless to say we didnât eat at the hotel again! On a positive note, the staff are particularly friendly and helpful, as youâd expect, and the outside pool area was excellent and the girls thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the beach which was situated just 250m away from the hotel. Iâll definitely consider Alcudia again; but maybe not the Alcudia Suite. "
