Hotel Agua Beach

Some people like to whinge!
"After just returning from a fabulous holiday staying at the Hotel Agua Beach with 8 of my friends (all 17/18 years old) I canât believe some of the reports posted on here, and feel people havenât got anything better to do on their HOLIDAY than rip the reputation of the hotel to shreds.
Okay there are a few points to be made e.g. there were a lot of over 50s however that wasnât a problem. They do their own thing and go to the old fashioned entertainment in the very large bar, whereas the families can go to the strip (trampolines/caricaturists/shops) and the youngsters can go to Magaluf.
As far as cleanliness goes the cleaner came in every day, admittedly not changing the sheets but unless Iâm abnormal I donât change the sheets more than once a week at home so I donât see why they should. There was no obvious mess/dirt on the spacious landings or in the corridors from what I saw, but then Iâm there to enjoy myself not scrutinise every nook and cranny!
If you donât like the food Iâm sorry you are just very fussy!! Unless we just happened to be there in peak season there was always two soups, bread, large basic salad selection plus some more interesting ones e.g. fish salad, several hot choices e.g. chicken legs, roast dinner, pasta, jacket potatoes, sausages, fish and we only had chips on two nights despite someone saying it was every night. There was also a huge array of desserts e.g. jelly, gateau, dried and fresh fruit, ice cream etc. For breakfast there was a similar amount with cooked (e.g. sausage, bacon, beans), cereals, yoghurt, fresh and dried fruit, cheese, salami, croissants, pastries, biscuits, toast etc. As far as clearing plates away the people who have complained are just lazy. We always cleared our plates and were grateful when the ladies came to do it for us. Other similar aged groups of teenagers also cleared their food so itâs not always true when teenagers get a bad name!
I would however advise giving the Italian restaurant a miss. We booked for 8pm but there was no need as it was empty when we arrived, not much choice, cold pasta, you could see the pokey kitchen with one chef from the table. There was no ambiance just the crashing and banging of the chef filling the dishwasher and all the crockery was chipped.
Overall the hotel has a fantastic location, just across the road from the beach with a spar just up the road for essentials. I would recommend the pedalos 12 euros for a four person one for an hour and golf fantasia 54 holes 12.50 euros there but we got for 10 euros in the hotel.
I would say to anyone who has doubts you get what you pay for. It is a well looked after hotel with a large dining room, the pool is not as small as you think (26 sunbeds around and 3 tables). It never claims to be 5 star. Rant over :-)"

Dont stay at Aqua Beach!!
"Just got back from a week at the Agua Beach (June 2007).
The Aqua Beach was our Cruise and Stay hotel for the second week of our holiday after cruising the Med.
Cleanliness in the whole hotel leaveâs a lot to be sorted out, on arrival there was cigarette ash all up the stair carpet and a tooth pick on the edge of one of the stairs, on leaving a week later the toothpick was still there, and the cigarette ash had grown.
The bed sheets were never changed all the time we were there.
On entering the food area we were amazed to see a micro-wave on the wall for clients use to heat up their food!!
Quality of food was very poor and descriptions such as 'turkeyâ,â beef' or 'pork' were not enough to describe the way they had been cooked, what joint it was and what it was swimming in.
The food and service in the hotel was a disgrace. Food choice poor and cold, chips every night. On most evenings we ended the meal with the dirty dishes of all three courses still on the table. Some guests even resorted to clearing their own tables!!
The food was poor, and often cold or under-cooked or over-cooked. Breakfast although we were half board we decided to eat out the last 3 nights rather than punish ourselves anymore, my wife even started feeling sick just on entering the restaurant by the end of the week.
We did dine in tonnios once where the food was of a good standard only trouble it was the same menu every night so once you had been through the menu that was it.
This hotel should be advertised in the brochure as suitable for over 60's as this is mainly the age that stay there. Even though there is only one lift that accommodates two people.
Swimming pool just big enough for two Lilloâs, and not very clean either, there was a bottle top in one corner of the pool that was there for the full week, and the pool was covered in dead insects.
Entertainment was Karaoke , Guitar player and some sixties singer, fine, for the first couple of nights, but not every night with no variation of content, There isn't any daytime entertainment for the kiddies.
This hotel is in desperate need of updating.
It amazes us how it is still open for business, wish we had found this web site before we booked.
We would not recommend this hotel and would not go back there. I cannot express my feelings of disgust for this hotel strongly enough."

Coudn't fault it - almost!
"After reading the mixed reviews on this hotel, we were a little apprehensive. However, after settling in on the 4th floor with a sea view balcony, 'things' were looking promising - and we weren't disappointed. The room was basic, but clean, and visited everyday by a chambermaid, even returning late morning after we'd left, following 'lie-ins'!!! No tea/coffee making equipment, but we hired a kettle from reception, the porter provided cups, and the restaurant the necessary ingredients! On the restaurant side of things, I'm quite 'picky' about my food, but the choice of 4/5 dinner main courses only failed to tempt me on one occasion, when I made do with a salad. Entertainment targeted the mainly 50 years + age group, (give the Spanish Showband a miss!!!),but was ok as an 'aperitif' for the more lively Magaluf. Great beach, literally just across the road, Spar shop and cabaret club 50-70 yards away.If I had any complaints, it would be that the TV's only had one Engish speaking channel - CNN News, but. hey, who needs TV, except when the FA Cup Final and European Cup Championship are on during the week we were there! It may be that some reviews relate to the Aqua Beach apartments, or even the Aqua Sol Hotel, neither about which I can comment."

We were on the roof!!!
"Me and a couple friends stayed in Aqua Beach Hotel and were thouroughly disappointed with the treatment we recieved. The Manager looked at us and saw 3 young men who won't really care where they sleep. He took us up to the 6th floor, the lift however only went up to the 5th so we had to use the stairs provided for the cleaners. Our room jus had space for 3 beds, there was no balcony only the rooftop. I think, the best thing about the holiday was the nighttime as we weren't in the room!"

A complete rip off.
"Hotel is rated as 3 star, the only way it deserves this is by the view and that we put down to God.Should have it star rating removed.
Cleanliness leaves a lot to be sorted out, on arrival there was a small piece of paper behind the bathroom door, on leaving it was still there, seems if you can't see it it doesn't get cleaned.
On entering the food area we were amazed to see a micro-wave on the wall for clients use to heat up their food!!
Quality of food was very poor and descriptions such as 'turkey','beef' or 'pork' were not enough to describe the way they had been cooked, what joint it was and what it was swimming in.
It was our first time to Mallorca and our last, what a shame as all it needs is a revamp, improvement in food & cleaning, it amazes us how it is still open for business wish we had found this web site before we booked.

"Arrived Tuesday from cruise only to find my accommodation had been cancelled?? and it just went downhill from there lounge area furniture grubby and dirty. Carpets in reception threadbare and dirty reception staff not at all friendly first choice rep out of her depth. After an hours wait we were finally given a room in the annex part of the hotel the room although very spacious seemed not to be finished ie two holes in the roof above the toilet tiles missing and poor fitting walls out side room very damp and giving off strong odour all the time, to top it off we shared our room with silver fish for the week (complaints made, photos taken)
Food only tried evening meal and breakfast in the main part of the hotel once it was cold chicken and sausages pink inside, we did dine in tonninos three times where the food was of a good standard only trouble it was the same menu every night so once you had been through the menu that was it.
Palma Nova is a beautiful resort and the hotel is in a great position but it needs a complete overall from restaurant to furniture we will visit Palma nova again but definitely not the Agua Beach"

Lovely and clean, great for the beach
"We stayed at this hotel as part of a two week stay and cruise holiday beginning 12th August 2006 with our two teenage daughters.
The hotel is very clean and we had a suite in the new part which was great. We had two bedrooms, a bathroom, a small kitchenette and two balconies off of the bedrooms overlooking the front of the hotel. The public areas in the hotel are all air conditioned, as are all rooms actually, but could do with a little modernising.
The position of the hotel is great for the beach which is lovely and also good if you want to go into Magaluf for the night life as it's not too far to walk but far enough to be away from all the noise.
The food is buffet style and is not fine dining but you have to be really fussy if you cannot find something you like. For breakfast there is the full fry up, fruit, cereal, ham, cheese, yoghurts etc. In the evening there are always 2 soups, a vegetarian option, salad bar, and at least a choice of three main courses. Sometimes there is a queue which can be a pain. There is also a waiter service restaurant up on the sun deck which you can visit twice a week and which has to be booked through the reception. The only problem was the menu never seemed to change! But it was nice to be waited on.
The swimming pool is not the most inviting due to the position of it but the sun beds are free and it's never really busy because the beach is right in front of you.
The entertainment isn't the best. Nothing for children at all. The karaoke was a bit of fun and plenty of people wanted to have a go. The singer wasn't up to much. You mainly have to go outside of the hotel for entertainment.
I would not book to go back to this hotel again but if someone booked it for me as a surprise I would be more than happy to go and know I would have a good time."

Almost, but not quite
"This hotel is definatley not a 3 star as quoted by First Choice. The rooms were basic, food was o.k and the staff were pleasent enough. When we arrived we had no towels which i had to request twice before somebody did anything about it.
I did like the fact it was so close to the BEACH.
The pool was very small but adequate enough for a cool down during sunbathing sessions!
I would recommend this hotel for a last minute bargain but wouldn't pay full price for it."

A nice surprise...
"Just got back from a week at the Agua Beach (Aug 2006). The location of the hotel really depends on what you're looking for. It is basically in the middle of Little Britain abroad and miles away from anything authentically spanish. Even the food and sangria have been changed to suit the British taste buds. However, to eat out and buy drinks is dirt cheap compared to other areas we visited on the island.
The hotel room was very basic but clean. The food was fantastic and delicious. Even the fussiest eater would enjoy the food there it was that good. Never ate the same thing twice including the going up for seconds. The room was about a 7/10 and the food was easily 10/10. There is no room service but breakfast is served 8 - 10 am and dinner 06:30- 9:30pm.
There is a quiet bar attached to the hotel which sell beers for a pound literally given the exchnge rate. There is karaoke and a singer which performs there which was really dry! The ages were mixed in the hotel. There was no late night rowdines except for one night after a new batch of arrivals through First Choice with whom we booked. However, this seems to have been nipped in the bud by the management as we heard nothing else. The First Choice rep was there everyday, for most of the day and very helpful.
The hotel is literally across the road from a long beach which runs up to Magaluf which is about a 15 min walk. There are plenty of activities locally to do for all ages. The bus stop is 2mins from the hotel and takes about 35/40 mins and 2.50 euros into Palma the capital. Last bus back is around 10:30 or a taxi for 25 euros.
However, if you're looking for something bit more upmarket and authentic, i suggest you rent a car and go to Alcudia. It has a far superior beach and shopping/eating district although it is more expensive."

Great Location............. shame about the hotel
"I stayed at this hotel for 7 days, the food was bland, -chicken, pork, fish - Mon-Sun, breakfast, forget it!
Swimming pool just big enough for two lilos, not very clean either.
Entertainment was Karaoke ,Guitar player and some sixties singer, fine, for the first couple of nights, but not everynight with no variation of content, (oh, two nights no entertainment at all!)There isn't any daytime entertainment for the kiddies.
The location is excellent, just across the road from the beach, Palma Nova is great!, but shame about the hotel.
This hotel is in need of a total re-vamp, both decor, cleanliness and image.
I believe this would be ideal for the Saga brigade as it is at the moment, but could have great potential in the right hands."

"We booked last September 2015 to stay at the Agua Beach June 2016 to be advised 18 hours prior to departure they had double booked.
Various tour operators had the same issue which clearly shows it is the hotel that is either incompetent or greedy as the value of the rooms have rocketed in the last few months.
We ended up in a hotel that is still in the process of being built.
Have stayed at the Agua Beach last year but will definitely not be booking there again.

Poor hotel, very dirty. Wouldnt stay there again
"On arrival 1st impressions were good, staff helpful. Then all went downhill, we were sent to out room and immediately had to go and complain about the state of it. Bed covered in long dark hair, hair also all over floor and in bath. The room looked like it had never been cleaned. They sent a cleaner in and all they done was changed the sheets, the top cover was still covered in hair as was the floor and we rinsed the bath ourselves. Ants were crawling through holes in the tiled floor we had to pack the holes with paper to stop them crawling through.
Breakfast was edible, choice of Full English or continental, dining room staff were lovely ladies.
Entertainment was fine if you are in your 70's.
Pool(which is situated behind Chinese restaurant) was far too small for the size of hotel, loungers were shabby and very few of them. Other guests were laying out towels the night before in order to guarantee one of the 20ish loungers.
All in all, hotel wasn't for us. Found it dirty and dated
Should be rated as a 2*"
