Lovely staff, food, clean rooms and great entertainment, especially for the kids

"Ignore all negative opinions about this hotel, as on the whole it was a most enjoyable holiday. Yes, the rooms are small and probably in need of a face lift, but were more than adequate for our 2 week holiday. We spent the majority of the time around the well kept pool area, the kids were entertained from 11 am in the morning until 11 am at night by a great entertainment team, the meals were plentiful and delicious and the staff on the whole were very pleasant and helpful.

Our 11 year old daughter's opinion is: I had a different meal nearly every day and if you didn't like one food there was always some thing different.
The entertainers were really nice and did lots of games. When you went to the bar the staff where very friendly and there was a show on every night
for adults and children that i recomend you see.I'm sure other kids would really enjoy it here too."

Ponte Boys love the Palma Nova

"All the reviews stating bad things at this hotel should be ignored, as this hotel is fantastic. Firstly, the lack of air conditioning isn't a problem as the rooms aren't very hot anyway. Secondly, thefts can be avoided by shutting balcony doors when not in the room, and handing in room keys with safety deposit box keys at reception isn't a good idea as members of our group discovered when they were robbed. However, if due care is taken then the hotel is a good one. The hotel's entertainment is enjoyable, but should rely a lot more on the entertainment staff and less on bringing in acts to entertain which usually fall sort of entertaining. The entertainment staff themselves, particularly the fantastic Per, were very likeable and were one of the things which made the holiday memorable. Any complaints about bingo from the previous reviewer should be ignored, the prizes are good and Per is a magnificently good caller. The pool was of a good size and depth and was well guarded by the lifeguard Eddie (or Xabi as we nicknamed him due to his football skills), who was also a bit of an entertainer balancing sun loungers on his head and such. The hotel is very near the crazy golf course, beach and paper shop and so is convenient, whilst staff are largely helpful and competent (particularly the duo at the pool bar, Paqui and Paco). Food was also fairly good, certainly adequate to have your fill every day without getting bored for a week, although whether this could stretch to a fortnight we couldn't test due to the shortness of our stay. All in all we had a lot of laughs in Palma Nova, mainly due to our stay in this hotel with its many now legendary members of staff and fantastic mix of guests. We are a group of 18 year olds boys who loved it, and know that older youths, children and elder people felt the same way. This is very much a hotel which caters sufficiently for many different types of people and one which i would recommend highly. If you are going soon please pass on the regards of the Ponte Boys to Per and the staff, and if you are in room 225 then congratulations, so was I - its a lot better than 223 and 224 - and i left a picture of Boudewijn Zenden in the safety deposit box, and i want to know if its still there. My only complaint was the odd smell in the street beind the hotel, present the whole time we were there with no actual indication as to what it was, which was mildly irritating. Finally, if you were at the hotel from 2-9 July while we were there: 1>email me, we found so many great people, made contact with few and remained in contact with none, 2>help me defend the hotel, and give an honest impression of it to cancel out all the unfair negativitiy"

Holiday!!? What a Joke!

"Can't believe some peoples review stating this place was good?
My first impression was good, nice reception area, swift check in, that was unfortunately the best part of the holiday, (except when we left to go home) the room we were allocated was a family room, this was great because for the first time ever we weren't tripping over ourselves to get to our beds, we had 5 in our party (baby) so because we had a cot our room was 2 times the size. trying to sleep was an utter bad experience we wouldn't put ourselves through again, NO AIR CON!!?? what year is this when a holiday hotel doesn't have the bare essentials, it was impossible to sleep. My husband also tried to sleep on balcony to catch some air, but due to the louts sitting outside swirling beer down their fat guts till 3-5am in morning, there was no chance.

Getting a sun lounger, we tried for first 3 days then didn't even bother after that, you have to be up crack of dawn to secure one, (or up to eight in some cases we seen) but after you have tried to sleep and when you finally do your too tired to get up that early to go down and put your towel on one.

MEALS>>if i ever see chicken veal or chips again (not to mention the five different names they called plain old spagetti) it will never be too soon. This had to be worse, this area was supposed to be fitted with air con yet through my entire fortnight not once did i witness it on, we complained several times with a responce of we are getting the engineers to it, how long does that take. It was impossible to eat in the sweltering heat in the dining area, and you were forbidden to go outside with it. My baby never ate a thing in the time we were there, so became more and more stressful for me.

Entertainment...now there is a laugh in its self there , for those who have witnesses this you'll know how ***t it really was. BINGO BINGO BINGO, PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR...AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH! that flipping song. the only time there was a earrie silence to win tedious amounts off euros, saying that, that became the highlight of our holiday in the end coz the entertainment was uterly dire! not to mention the area was to have air con also, sweltering heat it just couln't be done, there was a big stage been built when we were there, why didn't they use it instead off forcing us to sit in that heat??

Thats it, apart from check out, we had to check out at 12pm and our flight wasn't till 5.30am next morning, we asked to hold onto the room and wee were refused, the manager said he had no time to make the neccessary arrangements, told him to stick his hotel where the sun don't shine. needless to say, had to make up feeds for my baby to last him till we got home, because we had no fridge I was making them up at 2 at a time, so had to make 6 up to last him, they all went off before midnight and he had to starve till we got home. I was absolutely disgusted by the holiday, would never visit spain again in any area..so word off warning don't even be tempted by a cheap holiday the place is crap!"

"hi 4 adults 2 of which senior citizens, havin just returned from the palma nova hotel well don,t really know were to start. it was full of screaming kids running riot making a general nuisance of them selves etc, sayin that its not yet school holidays don,t kids these days go to school in june, we have stayed at that hotel twice before and thought it was a nice place but not now , the food choice was not that good anymore was sick of the sight of chicken!!. the hotel needs to get some air conditioning installed, you had to be up by 7am if you wanted a good place round the pool. before when we had drinks of a evening we got them in proper glasses but not this time it was plastic glasses day and night. the maids didn,t really clean the rooms or the balconys very well, one day they left our room unlocked, 2people i had spoken to two people whom had their bags stolen from the area were the entertainment was on ,their was a stage area outside yet with temps still in the 80s of a night they still had the shows inside when most people were sat outside .the good points were it was lovely weather 90 to 127 degrees glad we only had a week there its only worth a 2* not 3* am sorry to have to say don,t think i would now think of staying ther again"

Fine for us!

"We read several reviews on this hotel before leaving for a weeks holiday in June and were very aprehensive however upon arrival i honestely cannot see what all the fuss and complaints have been about! I think this hotel is fine for a base in Majorca, snobs avoid it at all costs!

Yes the rooms are tired and could do with bringing into the 21st Century however you really cannot complain about anything else.

Breakfast included sausages, bacon, eggs, boiled and fried, scrambled, toast, beans, cereal, yogurt, fruit, orange juice tea coffee etc, dinner and lunch were always varied with plenty to choose from although admitadely it gets tedious towards the end of the week and we ate out a couple of nights,

Contrary to the last report on the hotel icecreams are free although you are required to pay for named brand ones and crisps also, drinks were fine,a huge helping of spirit and pint glasses ( in plastic glasses) for beer.

Rooms were cleaned every day. Only bad side was the lifts which held a max of four and took ages - beach is a five min walk away and lovely and where we spent the majority of our holiday, further up the road there is another beach from where the banana boats and other rides run from.
Saw no evidence of tiles broken in pool or children running around with cut feet.

We took three children ,14,12 and 8 months and all LOVED it! We have stayed at far nicer places of course but for a week in the sun all inclusive on a budget this is absolutely fine! A word of advice, if you can bring your fans and an extension lead, it gets VERY hot and muggy at night and although they rent out fans they are probably all rented out in peak season!

If you wouldl like to know anything else please feel free to email me!"

A lovely hotel!

"I just got back on Thursday from Palma Nova - I was there for one week.

The hotel was very clean, the maids did such a wonderful job and were friendly. The staff (bar and restaurant) were incredible, these people work their ----- off - i'd say from 7am to 1pm. If you are friendly to them, they are lovely and smiley back to you.

Entertainment in the hotel wasn't up to much, good for the older ones though.

Food was lovely and always hot, if anything ran out or was getting cold, the staff would immediately fill it up again. There was plenty for everyone. There was always chips served with meals, but that didnt mean thats all there was, they were more for fussy people.

I was sorry to hear about other ones who had bad thoughts about this hotel, because i had a lot of fun and thought it was great.

The one complaint i have about this hotel is that there was no air con, but there are fans that you can hire.

If you are planning a holiday here, GO! You'll love it, don't let all the winging from others put you off."

"Hotel was clean although room had three single beds pushed together and if you moved during the night you fell on the floor. Entertainment was a mini disco for 30 mins which consisted of 5 songs, BINGO and a different show every night. Food was ok during set times ie breakfast dinner and tea. Apart from them snacks are crap you have to pay for ice creams and ice lolleys and £1.50 for a bag of crisps."

"Both myself & my partner have just come back from a terrible holiday at the Palma Nova Palace hotel in Majorca. As we pulled up to the hotel we were quite impressed, the outside, reception area and bar/lounge looked pleasant (though we were tired after having a late flight) though when we got to our room what a let down! We did have a view over the swimming pool, but as we realised the next day it does not get any sun, we did not expect to be out in bikinis at this time of year (end of november) however i feel sorry for anyone who goes in the summer and wants to take full advanatge of the all inclusive by sitting in the sun next to the pool. (It's not happening). For the first 4 days we we're getting up and going straight out into Palma Nova for food, drink and entertainment. The entertainment at the hotel was terrible! Bingo, bingo, bingo. As I realise that the older generation are in the majority you would think that for a twenty something couple there would be something to do (we aren't lager louts just wanting a bit of a holiday before christmas).
Also when you check out please have an early flight as they will charge you 25 euros to keep the room on late, which please do as we didn't, we put our cases into a small 'locked' room, though when we asrrived back in England we found we had been robbed. Our rep was useless, the staff miserable. We won't be going back!"

"We travelled during the half term holiday. The hotel wasn't full so no problems with sun loungers. The rooms were average sized, but very clean. The safe cost 25 euros a week. The all inclusive food and drink was very good, there was a good variety of foods at all meals, occasionally there was a carvery in the evenings. Most evenings the dinner was themed (different countries eg Mexico, Chinese etc). There were snacks during the day including ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, chips and toasties. The snacks in the evening were sandwiches, pizza, cake etc. You could order a picnic if you are going out for the day.
If you go out the back gate the beach is only about 2 minutes away. Also it is next door to Golf Fantasia, which is great fun.
The daytime entertainment was good, we didn't bother with the evening. But of course everyone likes different things.
I have previously been here in 2006 and would return again. "

" We've just got back from this hotel and couldn't be more pleased with it id read some bad reviews about it but i think its a great hotel. The food was plentiful and very nice with a good choice served from morning right through till midnight. There is entertainment practally all day long David and Natalie are fabulous with children and have plenty of adult entertainment too. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are cleaned daily. For the price i paid for my holiday i didn't expect too much but i was wrong its a great hotel and we will be going back again. Its just a shame you have to get up around 7.30am to get a comfy sunbed because people put their towels on them and dont even use them at all, theres still plenty to go round we never had a day without one."
