best sol hotel for food
"my wife and I aged 52+ stayed in this hotel 4-8-13 to 9-8-13 booked half board, on arrival we asked for a high room for a good view got room 1033 highest floor with a sea view through the other buildings also a view of bcm which was good, the room was clean and tidy with excellent working air con we also got bands for the katmandu park we went back to reception got a safe key 20euro with 5 euro returnable we also hired a fridge 3 euro per day when we got back to the room later the fridge was there also a sol mat in the slot where you put your door card in to work the electric this meant the air con was on all 5 days and nights the beds were very comfy so comfy we slept through evening dinner and missed it so went out for dinner breakfast was the best I have ever had in any hotel I have been to the fried eggs were amazing restaurant was clean all the staff worked constant dinner at night also turned out to be excellent drink from the bar was as good if not better than surrounding bars on the third day we paid 46 euro for all inclusive for three days I had swore I would not go back to a sol hotel but this one was exceptional I read other reviews about cockroaches I did not see any and I was looking for them found a few small ants nothing to cause alarm all hotel staff we very helpful and could not do enough to help everyone, the entertainment staff ran the kids club which gave parents time to relax all in all great hotel great location noise from bcm was toned down at midnight when you shut the veranda doo you could hardly hear a thing if I go back again I would stay there again all inclusive"

Good location, nice hotel.
"Great, couldn't be better. No problems with reception, everyone pleasant, especially Pepe. Sun on balcony all afternoon and the maids were friendly if you took the trouble to talk to them. Near to Palma Nova and next door to Katmandu. Going May 2013 for the 4th time.....See you then Pepe! "

"Just came back from Magaluf .after spending 6 nights in the Magaluf Park my wife and i were very pleased. very good location, decent food and decent entertainment.having said that i think the hotel seems to cater for the more mature clientele so if you are in the younger generation you maybe better suited going to the jungle"

"spent a week in this hotel and had 3 meals there. the food was poor at best and at breakfast there was a massive cockroach where we ate. So was forced to eat out pretty much every night. entertainment was poor and saw no point to it, but free drinks were good. rooms were clean but the fan looked like it was going to fall off. Staff at reception were ok, but have to get on the good side of security other wise will beat you if you make noise. wouls go back to maga but not this hotel."

"have went to his hotel quite a few times and found it to be getting worse every time my wife and i went. the reception team were quite unfriendly, the rooms kept getting to look a little more rundown and having cockroaches.the food which was once a very high standard had really went down in our expectations.we felt that their sister hotel(sol gaudalope)was getting a facelift and the company were putting all their time money and effort into this and letting magaluf park slide"

Very good value for money
"Only one bad thing was the air-con (as it just didnt seem to do anything! Ceiling fan was only thing cooling) Now the good, good location - 5 mins walk from the beach, main clubs like BCM and the main strip of bars. However the hotel is close to all the nightlife the only noise is the odd people coming in during the night (to be honest we had the first room on the 3rd floor, so everybody had to walk past our room to get to their room on 3rd floor) But its magaluf so if you want a quiet holiday book else where. There was security guards around on the night, and anybody being loud or playing music etc soon got told to keep the volume down. We stayed all inclusive as it was only £80 more PPPW so it worked out cheap. Drinks are â¬1 for a coke, â¬2 for a beer etc, so you could soon spend £80 just on drinks! Food was nothing special but was something for everybody, never went in finding nothing to eat. The snacks are just left overs from lunch/dinner etc, but ideal if you want a late lunch :) Overall can not fault the hotel for the price!"

very nice would go back again
"me and my boyfriend went here both are 25 years old. we were giving a nice but small room (but why do you need big room) it only for sleeping and changing in. oh and a siesta. lol food was lovely with plenty of choice. Didnt really use any of the other hotel facilities as out all day and night with friends in different apartment (playa apartments now them are not for anyone that wants sleep or has standards.) staff manager even phoned us in our room to make sure we was ok and happy with things. now you dont get that every where. cleaners were ok bit noisey in mornings. but if it wasn't for them would never had got up for breakfast. overall nice hotel not many young there though and in very good location for magaluf strip and bcm. nice pub across road too 1 euro a pint."

First holiday away from the folks,,,
"where do i begin...! all in all id say the hotel was perfect for what me and my mates were looking for, a cheap basic room that was close to the strip and beach! going half board kept us full up, except we almost always missed breakfast (but theres a nice cafe down the road so alls well!) and the meals were decent enough! hotel was packed out of people all with our "intentions" to have a good time so couldnt ask for more! i cant stand reading reviews of people complaining about noisy corridoors, YOUR IN MAGALLUF for gods sake!!! the only bad things i can comment on, some strange man occasionally ran in our room about 5 in the mornin and then back out again, staff are as grumpy as hell but who cares (curse them in english and they wont no better!) aaaand the cleaning ladies barge in on you in the morning! other than that i wished i'd stayed there longer than 7 days and am almost definately going back to magalluf soon (although might try a different hotel so its not exactly the same holiday!) i neeeeeed to go back to BCM! best club in the world by a long way! (and your just the right distance from it to get there EASY but sober up on the way back!)"

"It is sad there are so many bad reviews for this hotel. However, if you notice, most of the bad reviews are during the months of July August, when the youngsters are out here enjoying themselves, so the solution is simple, if you dont wish to be involved in a lively resort and hotel, do not book here during the peak months! In our case we went out in February for a short one week break and found the hotel perfectly adequate for our needs. Yes we encountered a fly on a large piece of beef one evening and yes we saw a "wee beastie" run across the restaurant floor one night, but this did not ruin our eating experience. We found that the food was basic but varied and plentiful albeit a few times, maybe a little lukewarm, but there was a microwave there to heat it up should you need it. We certainly did not find the staff rude or unhelpful in any way, or miserable as previously stated on here. Yes, the key to our room did cause us to have to ask for several replacements but hey, unlike some people on here, we dont feel like you have to give a 1 out of 10 review for minor problems. The room was perfectly adequate, cleaned and towels changed daily and bathroom facilities were fantastic. For the money we pay, what on earth do people want? A 5* resort??? Over the years we have stayed at several hotels in the Magaluf / Palma Nova region and this is by far the best to date (considering how cheap it is). If you want luxury, you have to pay luxury money, we just want a decent place to base our holiday, other than that, the hotel shouldnt be such a big deal to people, they should remember its the holiday that counts and if you get a decent place to stay, then that should be enough. The grounds of the hotel were very nice including a very warm indoor pool. The resort was the quietest we have ever found it, although it was very early February. We will leave it till March in future as a lot of places were closed. However, we would still recommend Eastenders Bar and Prince William Pub, Flavours and Tracy's Bar (if you take a trip over to Santa Ponsa) only 10E ina cab. Well worth a visit. Although the weather was bad and it was quiet, we enjoyed our break."

"Dont really understand how people can give this hotel bad reviews. Not sure what the breakfast was like (didnt make it up for that haha), dinner was good, they always had a good selection of food out. Rooms were clean, great mirrors haha!! We had mirrored wardropes, plus a mirror on the wall and mirror in the bathroom. Balcony was quite small, there bigger for the rooms that are for 3 people though. Pool was a nice size, plus they have an indoor pool. They dont like rubber rings or lilos in the pool though. Bar staff were lovely, and drink was cheap. Very close to the nightlife, BCM is right beside the hotel. Foam partys in BCM are fab. Not a beach fan, so not sure what thats like. I would definetly go back here!! "
